It’s 2024, I’m using iPad Pro with external keyboard to write this post. Comping year will be 20 years I’m running this site. Wow!

The year I started the blog - 2005.

At that time a lot of technology is not there yet, the first iPhone is about to come in 2 years. The iPhone trademark still belongs to Cisco, Steve Jobs is alive and working on the next big thing. FreeBSD is very popular for any hosting. Virtualization is not that widely adopted technology.

This year shouldn’t be an exception to write a post to keep the ancient technology alive. Did a transformation, so this website is running inside the docker container that is built from the actual pipeline. The site still uses Apache, still runs CGI with Parser3 and performs XSLT (I know, it’s indefinite source of security issues) as it was in 2005.

But … let me keep this piece of tech up and running for archeology purposes.
