Right from the get-go, the track is delicately haunting, with a tremendous balance of cinematic strings, violins, and vocals that feel as though they are just touching the upper atmosphere, all before the main vocals come in.

It's incredibly ethereal, with orchestral high vocals drifting in the background, balanced by more direct tones from vocalist Lois Powell. There is a beautiful blend of dream pop and synths, with a subtle guitar weaving through it all. The overall sound is a dark, cinematic offering that grips you, takes you by the hand, and pulls you in. Trust me, once you’re in, you'll want to stay for the full duration.

The fusion of sub-genres here is absolutely sensational, and as soon as this track finished, we moved straight into their other tunes. Let me tell you, they’re just as good. So feel free to delve further into their music, as this is only just scratching the surface.

Her vocals here are deep and rich, with plenty of mood behind them. That’s not to suggest this is a slow jam that can't grip you - far from it; the track feels bright and effortlessly draws you in with some gorgeous vocal hooks. I really enjoyed the groove on this song, especially the bassline, and even though the percussion is fairly simplistic, it’s incredibly effective - particularly the cascading sounds that prelude the chorus.

It’s not entirely clear-cut what genre this sits in, but that hardly matters. This is the kind of track that can bring fans from multiple genres together, and will no doubt earn her thousands more adoring listeners. She is once again a shining beacon of why we think Canada has one of the most underrated music scenes.

The Last Playground's new tune, "The Closing", is just their second ever release, and it's a haunting yet kinetic synth-driven offering.

And despite it being only their second, it really packs a punch. Within the first ten seconds, you'll be able to hear their quirky synths, spoken word, and shimmering sounds that will beckon you forward into the rest of the track.

Hailing from Kirkcaldy in Scotland, the track has a delightfully fresh new wave sound mixed with some darker and atmospheric noises that can easily place this into the 1980s in terms of how it sounds.

The final minute of the song for me is the best part of it, with the sounds just becoming elevated and the vocals becoming more urgent. Once it's done, it's going to make you want to head into their debut track even faster than you would otherwise have thought.

It's cinematic with sweeping textures and moody electronics that push the pop genre even further. Emotionally speaking, I get hints of Evanescence here, mixed with more classical pop tones, but one thing is for sure: after three and a half minutes or over, you will be pining for more from the band.

Back with their third single is Chilean band Chroma Noir, and the new offering "Sacrifice". The new single is just the first of the year and is already the most-played track on Spotify. When you listen to it, you can easily hear why.

Right from the get-go, and well within the first minute, the track gives you a smattering of expansive and electronic drums, mixed with twinkles of synth tones and deep vocal cords. It's a slow burner at heart, with hints of post-punk and even dream pop bubbling away; however, the overall feel of the song is this dark, warming tone that will be sure to keep you listening intently for the full five minutes

I honestly loved the balance of male and female vocals here, with Angeline Bernini also contributing some chords.

The balance of male and female vocals honestly helped bring this track more into the forefront of my mind, and I honestly had an itch to replay it straight away. Especially considering that in the final thirds, there were some epic guitar solos that sounded almost like Dire Straits mixed in with the vibrant dark pop sounds.

ALEN HIT's "#1 Problem" is a sleek, cinematic pop statement that blurs music and storytelling with striking precision. Vocally bold and rich, the hooks on this song are just sensational, with plenty of seductive moments that will hook new listeners and old fans alike.

It is incredibly pop, meaning, but with lots of indie and alternative hooks that go a long way in getting me invested in the track. I do like the guitar on this, even though it's rather simple. In practise, it just got me, and even the backing sounds of the guitar and chiming wind chimes to the breezy synth moments. Honestly, this track's got it, and it got me hooked

It's groovy. It's upbeat. It's a little bit nostalgic in places, too. The music video for it is just as good as you may think it would be. It's directed in such a way that it reminds me a lot of the boy bands of the late 90s and early 2000s, but mixed in with that sleek production that a lot of the big names are doing these days. Plenty of camera angles are being thrown around all the places, and lots of energy, sensational stuff.

One thing that instantly slaps you in the face is how thick, bass-driven, and distorted it is from the get-go. It's very punk-driven, with plenty of dark tones flowing over the top of it to give it this clear-cut black-and-white mood. The bass is seductive; the vocals are deep, and in places it also reminds me of music from the 1980s.

With a couple of singles and a couple of demos also on their Spotify page, you should be sure to check them out as soon as you're done with this new offering. As we feel like this won't be the last time you'd have listened to the band!

WØLFFE is back with the hot new tune, "Holiday From My Mind". This new single is rather experimental in its approach, but it has plenty going for it: moody vocals, intricate percussion and great production making it all shine.

With her debut single back in 2016 reaching over 1.5 million plays, it sounds like she is going all out to try and recreate that spark that got everyone so invested in her music. To be honest, this sounds like it could be it.

The dark pop tones flow ethically with her voice that just caresses your ears, and when the chorus comes, the effects-laden sounds are just beautiful. It's dark but quirky and also invites you further into the track to the point where you almost feel like you're inside it

I also loved, in the final third, the breakdown with the organic instrumentation. Once again, it helps to bring down the track a bit more to earth whilst keeping it elevated in your mind. If there was a track that she could release to reach the millions of fans that she previously had, this is going to be it.

Having burst onto the scene earlier this year with his debut single "Do You Wanna Go Out?", Louie Cameron is back with a dreamy new cut, "Cantina Canoona".

The track is filled with dreamy, sliding guitar moments, placed with his somewhat hazy vocals adorning the song. It's really dreamy throughout, with plenty of washed-out guitars, retro tones, and even some shoegaze moments, all the while mixed in with that folk and Americana sensibility that so many people love these days.

Yes, the single is his second, and if you wish to listen to the debut single from him, it is actually the B-side on the single release for this single. If you like what you hear, there's another 3.5 minutes of great music waiting for you. For me, overall, I'd have to say this is a psych-pop track that meets Americana. It's rich, it's deep, and it really gets your ears working in the best of ways.

Heddy Edwards new single "The Other Side of Town " is yet another great release by the artist. The new offering is her second of the year, following a single release back in 2024 called "Black Tunnel".

"The Other Side of Town" feels rather gothic in terms of its vocal approach, a bit haunting in places, but there is this delightfully sweet and reverb-laden guitar underneath it all that helps to bring the track to life

Alex James drops his powerful new cut, "Figure It Out Now"

Coming out of the north-east of England is Alex James, who is a singer-songwriter, backed up by a trio of his friends who make some incredible music.

... riff-heavy punk rock with Northern attitude - proving that even with DMD, nothing can stop Alex Kennedy from crafting loud, timeless, sing-along anthems.

The sounds on offer are very punk rock driven, with a tone that varies between the likes of Royal Blood and even the Black Keys, but it keeps this Britishness alive with the moody northern tones that the likes of Arctic Monkeys and even Maximo Park have in their music. Alex suffers from something called DMD (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy), which means he is wheelchair-bound - but he does not let that stop him from producing some absolutely storming tracks.

This is a great example of someone who has talent and who is not letting anything stop him from doing what he really wants to do, wasting no time in creating some epic riffs that honestly feel timeless. There are lots of sing-along-worthy moments, rip-roaring riffs and solos, and a bass that's so thick it can rival the very best in the genre.

Jex Ayla’s “Battlefront”, featuring German producer Michel Jaensch, is a cinematic dark-pop triumph. Hailing from Lugano, Switzerland, the track opens with some bold piano tones before it takes an even bolder turn into a thick, synth-driven electropop sound that is drenched in dark pop undertones, which seep throughout.

This, to me, sounds like one of those alternative Eurovision tracks that do incredibly well on the televote. It’s full of emotion, full of glistening pop elements mixed with the darkness inside it. I also appreciated the cowbell and, as fans of this website know, I do appreciate a good cowbell within a track.

It’s one of those sub-three-minute offerings that will leave you lingering for more. The best thing is there’s an EP of six tracks that was released earlier this year in February, and there is an abundance of singles too that you could listen to if you want more of a flavour of what she’s all about.

Honeycut releases their debut single, "Psychopathy"

The new track from the duo Honeycutt is also their debut offering. The chunky track is called "Psychopathy", and it is rip-roaring from the get-go, with some bold guitars mixed with cascading drums and plenty of fills.

As soon as those vocals come in, the track takes a turn to the left. It’s not just a rip-roarer; it’s filled with moody vocals that are sure to captivate you from the get-go. Considering this is a debut track, this sounds absolutely mega. The LA-based band is certainly going to be taking their local scene by storm, but to be honest, I feel like they have the potential to be far bigger than even just that.

Obviously, with no previous tracks out, if you wanted to delve deep into their sound and what these guys are all about, they have a playlist on their Spotify with tracks and music that sounds like them and has influenced them. So perhaps that might not be a bad follow-up to this song.

But alas, with one track, they sound like they have the potential to be huge and have already gained a couple of thousand Spotify listeners within the week the track has been out!

Coming out of Barcelona is Marcball, and the artist has recently dropped his 90's inpsired new alt-rock tune, and my goodness were we smitten on the first play. As mentioned, the first play for us was insane. It gave me massive vibes of those other Britpop bands that were all the rage in the UK around the time Oasis were chart-topping.

... a punchy, 90s Britpop-flavoured alt-rock gem—instantly addictive, wildly nostalgic, and packed with hooks.

It does not quite sound like he is hailing from Spain. It sounds like he is an artist who grew up on the 90s music scene in, let's say, Birmingham, London or Manchester, for example. The sound here is incredibly upbeat and feels like something I would have listened to in the car when I was around eight years old. It's incredibly catchy and has enough hooks to satisfy anyone's needs.

Also, be sure to keep an ear out for the guitar solo towards the latter third as this just cements how incredibly captivating and addictive the track is!

What they've done is create a sound that pushes the boundaries.

With emotive vocals throughout, this song sounds like it can easily soundtrack your summer. I feel like this will be a hit on the radio as soon as it lands on the airwaves.

It's rather RnB in places, especially with the vocal melodies, but the track still hits hard for us. I loved the chiming guitar in the background of the track, reminding you that this is a track from a scene where indie/rock music reigns king.

It's so finely polished off that it's almost sounding like a classic in the genre. We can see this doing so well in the coming months, too. The new single from the Canadian band is built on shimmering guitars, analogue synths and a steady post-punk pulse that brings plenty of nostalgia to me.

If you mix together shoegaze sound with dream-pop and new-wave with a steady tempo, then this song is what you'd get. The track captures the quiet magic of the last ride home after a long night, something I'm sure we can all relate to - whether we remember it or not as much.

To me, this track feels reflective, stylish, and addictive, proving that Bleach Dreamer knows exactly how to soundtrack tracks destined to be remembered.
