Bunny Carrot Car Felt Craft

This felt Bunny Carrot Car is a really fun, easy, and inexpensive craft to make!

Supplies:

• Poster board
• Felt (various colors)
• Scissors
• Pen
• Black Sharpie marker
• Hot glue (Only for adults. Craft glue or glue dots for kids.)
• Pink & orange markers
• Printable template

How to make this felt bunny craft:

Print out the template you’ll use to trace your pieces onto the poster board and felt. Cut out the pieces from the printed template.

Trace the pieces onto your poster board, and repeat again onto your pieces of felt. Of course, you’ll want to match the felt colors accordingly. Feel free to make your bunny brown, tan, white, or another color of your choice. Glue the felt pieces to the poster board. The poster board will give your project some stability.

Now, it’s time to start building your bunny and his awesome carrot car! Glue the green leafy portion of the carrot and the steering wheel onto the body of the carrot car.

Glue the center of your wheel onto the large part of the wheel, and then glue the wheels onto the body of the car.

Build your bunny and glue the bunny inside your car. Give your bunny a triangle nose and use small circles of black and white felt to make his eyes.

Use a pink marker to give your bunny some rosy cheeks, and use an orange marker to make lines on the carrot car.

If you’d like, glue your bunny carrot car to some craft paper to make a card, and/or add some ribbon to hang your adorable bunny carrot car. Zoom, zoom!

Kids have a natural inclination to understand the concept of symmetry. They will often seek out symmetry in the form of order and balance in their world.

You can see them arranging toys and other objects into lines, rows or patterns. The idea of symmetry comes naturally at a young age, even if the concept isn’t fully developed.

These symmetry drawing prompts help kids to learn about symmetry and build on that natural instinct to seek out balance and order. It combines both this basic math concept and art into one activity.

With these 10 free printable symmetry drawing activities for kids they can practice drawing symmetrical pictures and begin to understand the mathematical concept of symmetry.

Introducing Kids to the Concept of Symmetry

When giving the symmetry drawing activity worksheets to kids, explain that they just need to draw the other half of the image, using the given side as an example.

Once they have completed the worksheets (or at least a few of them) is the perfect time to then explain the meaning of the word symmetry. 

Explain that something is symmetrical when it is the same on both sides. An image or shape has symmetry if a central dividing line (a line down the center) show that both sides of the line are exactly the same.

Another explanation of the concept is if the two sides of a picture are mirror-image halves. Using lightweight paper, if you fold the page in half along the dividing line you can then hold it up to the light and see that both sides match.

Thanksgiving is getting closer and we have a fun craft project that you can do with your kids. This Turkey Juice Box Craft turns an ordinary box of juice into a fun turkey friend with a colorful tail.

I love that these colorful creations are perfect to use as kids’ place markers at the Thanksgiving table. Just write each child’s name on their turkey’s belly!

You can also use this as a craft for Thanksgiving day itself to keep the kids occupied while you finish up with the preparations for Thanksgiving dinner.

Turkey Juice Box Craft

Supplies:
Juice Boxes of your choice (I used Juicy Juice)
Construction paper (brown for the body, orange for the beak, red for the wattle and multiple colors for the feathers)
Glue
Scissors
Googly Eyes

How to make a juice box turkey:

Start with a brown sheet of construction paper.
Lay your juice box on top to ‘measure’ enough paper to go all the way around. I used a Juicy Juice Box and my sheet ended up being 7 ¾ x 4 ¾ inches.
Cut out the rectangle. Wrap your juice box with the paper and glue.
Cut a triangle from the orange construction paper. From the red construction paper, cut a small squiggle shape for the turkey’s wattle.
Next, cut out feather shapes from multiple colors of paper.
Flip your juice box over so the glued seam is face up. Glue an arrangement of feathers to the back of the juice box.
On the front of the box, attach two googly eyes, beak and wattle.

Every year around Thanksgiving, we love finding little ways to make gratitude part of our traditions. It’s a way of reminding us how the year has been so good to us, even in the littlest of ways! This Thankful Trees Thanksgiving Craft quickly became one of our favorites. When we made ours, everyone took turns adding their leaves and sharing something they were grateful for! Some of the answers were sweet (“my grandma’s hugs”), and some were funny (“pizza night!”), but each one of them made us smile.

What I love most about this craft is that it’s not just about creating something cute. It’s about sparking conversation and reflection. Seeing our Thankful Tree hanging on the wall all week reminded us of the things that truly matter. It’s a keepsake we’ll definitely make again year after year! But more than that, this craft is great for classrooms, family gatherings, or cozy afternoons at home. It encourages creativity and teaches kids the importance of gratitude and mindfulness during the holiday season.

• PDF Tree Template
• Cardstock (Autumn colors)
• Scissors

How to Make

1. Save and print the template onto heavy cardstock.

2. Cut the template out and trace the tree onto brown cardstock.

3. Invite your children to trace the leaves onto cardstock. This helps them learn fine motor skills!

4. Cut the leaves out.

6. Glue the leaves onto the branches of the tree.

7. Ask your children what they are thankful for. Write what they are thankful for on the leaves. If your child can write, allow them to do this step.

8. Your thankful tree is finished. Frame it and display it as a Thanksgiving decoration. Invite your children to discuss with family members what they are thankful for and why.
