This product consists of two plastic pieces stuck to the fridge door with double sided tape. Needless to say, both pieces pulled off of the door the first time I tried to open it. Maybe with super glue or something more permanent, but this is not worth it! I will invest in something that costs a bit more but will work!

This item is so weak, it cannot be used to protect any child from entering or opening the refrigerator! You will be lucky even if you get to stick it to your refrigerator, it does not hold. It should be discontinued from being made and sold!!!

I ordered the Country Garden Glider Tete-a-Tete for my birthday and anniversay gift. I had read all of the reviews so I was prepared for the delivery. The delivery came on time and the box was in fair condition (UPS). It took approximately four hours to put together with a break about half way through. There are many pieces but my husband said that the instructions were well written and not hard to follow. He can build things from scratch so I believed him. We were missing no parts (always a plus). When we finished the glider and placed it in front of the house, we took a break and had cookies and iced tea while we rocked and watched the world go by. We will enjoy this product for many years to come.

This thing took me and my financee 5 hours to put together. It must have had three hundred parts. It came in a box six feet long, two and half feet across and 3 inches wide. Nothing but the tray came pre-assembled. Still, it is a really nice chair after all that.

Nice unit, but not exactly as pictured., December 13, 2010

While the description says it stores 8 bottles, either 750 or 1500 ml, it is a tight fit for whites, some reds did not fit, and champagne bottles will only fit if one rack is removed. In the picture it looks like the bottom rack is designed to accommodate fatter champagne bottles, but actually the unit that's shipping has 4 identical racks. The lowest temperature is 45F, not 39F. Those are the quibbles. The appearance is great, and it is extremely quiet. I like it so well, even with the demerits, that I bought another for better reds and dessert wines. The two units fit side by side on the kitchen counter, under the cabinets, with 1/4" to spare. After I bought the first unit, I happened to read a number of negative reviews, including the ominous ones about it breaking down within the first year. I sure hope that doesn't happen, because I like the unit. And those fat champagne bottles are still happy in the vegetable drawer of the refrigerator.

Worked great for about 6 months. Held a constant temperature that was only 2 or 3 degrees off what the readout displayed. Then in the 7th month, I noticed the fan was laboring and the inside temp was getting higher. Been about a year now and it hasn't died on me yet but I don't think it has much time left. If you could get it for like 0, I would recommend it. But for what I paid, I don't plan on replacing it when it finally kicks and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. That being said, it's a much much better value then any other cellars I looked at that were twice the price or more and had terrible reviews.

The reviews for this HGTV home design software are quite mixed. But the consistent thing about them is that the people that don't like the program never took the time to learn how to use it.

Don't fool yourself - this is a complex program. Despite all of the advertisements that it is "easy," it is basically a dumbed-down CAD (computer-aided design) program. It is easier than using most architect-quality programs, but it is much harder than learning Word. This is not jump-in-and-design-a-house kind of program.

If you have used CAD programs before, you will probably not have too much trouble adapting to this software. Some of the mappings are odd (it took me a while to find where to access positioned cameras, for example), but they're there. If you haven't used CAD programs before, I'd guess you will need at least 2 or 3 hours simply to learn how to navigate the program (and even have an idea as to what kinds of things you can do with it) before even trying to create your own house. If you don't take the 2 or 3 hours to run through online tutorials and at least skim through the 698-page user manual, you will get lost, and you will be frustrated. You have been warned.

So if all you are interested in is creating a basic nearly-to-scale representation of your home and see what different colors would look like on the wall, expect to put 5+ hours to get to that point. If you want it to be accurate down to the inch with picture-perfect furniture, it will take you much, much longer. As an example, I have used CAD programs before, so I jumped straight in, and it took me about 4 hours to put together the structure of the house alone (although wall placement is accurate to the inch). So that's not including any floor coverings, walls, paint, appliances, cabinets, etc, which I imagine will take at least as long, if not more.

Overall, it's a fairly high quality product marketed to people accustomed to the ease of use of an iPod, and I think that's its only real flaw. If you're willing to put in the hours to learn the software, you can get exactly what you're dreaming of: a working 3D virtual model of your home, from carpet to ceiling fans, that you can redecorate at will to see how that new arrangement of furniture in your bedroom will look without having to scuff the floors.

Several years ago I bought another program to do simple floor plans and 3D visuals, so I was familiar with the basics. I agree that you need to read the book and put some time into studying this program, but it's not that complicated. I was creating a floor plan within minutes. After I'd put in some interior walls, I tried to add windows to the outside of the house. The program refused to put the windows on exterior walls. It would let me add them between rooms, but not on the outside. I emailed Nova Development customer support with the question and waited two days for an response that did not answer the question, but said that the Home Design and Remodeling Suite is not for exterior design and I should upgrade to their more expensive program. I've experimented and found that I can add exterior windows, but I had to trash my previous work and start over.

A gable roof is probably the most basic roof design and is shown on the outside of the product box. The program did not seem to offer a gable roof as an option. I called customer support and was able to get through to a representative in reasonable time. I asked him about the gable roof and he didn't know. He put me on hold for a while and told me that no, gable roofs were not an option. This program is seriously limited.

I'm now sketching my layouts on graph paper looking for a better design program.

Home Design & Remodel is more limited than you think, February 19, 2010

I believe the objective of this company is to trick consumers into buying both versions. Don't be confused. Home Design & Remodeling (HD&R) is not a different product from Platinum. It is Platinum with random features missing. Not just missing sophisticated features. It even comes with the Platinum manual. (think free trial version). Software like this has a significant learning curve so if you only have the Platinum Manual to look at, everytime you start to struggle, you won't know if you're struggling with a limitation of the software version or if you just haven't figured it out yet. The manual tells you what to do... it just doesn't work. (if you buy HD&R that is). If you're thinking of buying this brand, get the Platinum, no exceptions (I haven't used platinum yet). If you're interested in my specific experience, read on.

I purchased the "Home Design and Remodeling Suite" version for planning my remodel. I thought I could get away with just using the less expensive version because my remodel is mostly cosmetic with move a door here, add a wall there. I figured the platinum version was for designing a house from scratch. I had to make these assumptions because reading the boxes of the two prospective products doesn't tell you what the differences are. I drew my existing house, which took about 15 hrs with the learning curve, if I had to do it again, it would likely take 3hrs. Then I started to struggle with floors. It auto generates floors by room based on where you draw walls, in some cases, the software got it wrong, but I couldn't seem to edit them. (For instance: Currently, my hallway, living room, dining room and kitchen are not divided by many walls so the software made that area all one floor.) The user manual explains how to change it, but I couldn't seem to get it to work. I first tried to go online to see if there were any message boards dedicated to it, then I tried the publisher's website which advertises sign up for the User Community to learn from other users. The `User Community' as it turns out just puts you on a newsletter (mailing list), which of course is nothing like a user community. I then called the customer support number, which recited business hrs that meant they should have been open, but were not. I called back later in the day, got a different recording with different hours. I called back during those hours and an automated menu told me to call a different phone number for technical support. I called it, they were not open yet. Once I finally got someone from technical support, (after about 10 min on hold) we concluded that my version does not support what I'm trying to do. They explained that everyone the same Platinum user manual so my manual tells me I can do things that the software can't, leading to hours of wasted time. I asked if there was someplace that listed the differences, and they gave me this website [...] when I pulled up the website and saw that it lists all of the same interior design capabilities for both applications, the guy told me that yes they do the same general things, but the platinum has more functionality. This concluded one conversation with tech service. Once I calmed down, I rationalized that despite the fact that I was angry at these people, my house was already mostly drawn in their software and if I upgraded, I'd surely acheive my end goal fastest. I called back to discuss upgrade options. Tech service told me that I could contact customer service and they told me that although there technically isn't an 'upgrade', they will let me purchase Platinum discounted to reflect my purchase of HD&R. Called customer service, they refused. Called tech service back, they contacted customer service on my behalf and... no luck. So my only option was return HD&R.

In terms of the money back guarantee plastered all over the box, they won't refund tax, they won't refund return shipping, return must be through tracked parcel service ($ $ ), you cannot have removed UPC to obtain a rebate (many people fall into this trap) and refund takes one "billing cycle" ...what? They only pay by issuing checks... I'm now waiting for my refund (est. 5-6 weeks for refund)

The software? I think the Platinum will probably work very well, if I decide to buy it. I have some CAD/design experience so I knew any software like this would take some work to learn, and it did. If you have no experience with software like this, do not put yourself through the effort of stuggling with things that your software won't do. Do yourself a favor, buy the better version of whatever brand you buy.

I purchased this for a coffee table that is 48x30. At first it fit with room to spare. The directions said to wash the cover before use, so I did. I followed the washing instructions. The padding inside got a bit wadded up. I could have lived with that but the elastic shrunk and broke when I put it back on the table. How annoying to have to rethread the elastic. And when I was done, it was still way too small. Very aggravated.

We have a coffee table with lots of sharp edges (not just the 4 corners) because it has an iron base with rack, then wood "box" type top with drawers so for the price it made all the corners and sharp edges relatively safe and covered the drawers so we didn't have to install drawer catches (sweet!) I love the cover, makes me feel better that our son won't smack his forehead or eye crashing into it. The elastic is heavy duty, the cover stays in place very well and the material is very durable, it is padded but not super padded. I washed it before putting it on the table and it washed & dried easily. The zoo design is cute and can't wait until he's older and we can point out the animals and play. I'm honestly surprised that this isn't more available out there with all the other safety stuff in stores. Very happy with the purchase and would definitely recommend it for most coffee tables.

The playmat is quite thick and definitely pads the edges so the kids won't get hurt and covers the table so it doesn't get scratched up. The pattern is a fun zoo pattern with a nice neutral tan color on the flip side. The only downside to us is that it's a little bulky. You can't sit a cup or anything like that on it. But it works well to protect the table and give the kids a place to play. Overall, pretty great for protecting nice furniture and the kids.

After I wrote the below review the wingnuts appeared, the table is stabilized and in use. My impression is that those little felt washers sold along with guitar strap buttons would have made it even nicer, but I love the table. The feet are especially stable since they are one piece with the legs. This table is the real thing, not faked to look like wrought iron. At the same time the design makes it light weight enough to handle by an old lady like myself. It's CUTE!!

(First version of review below.)

The table looks to be excellent quality. However the four wingnuts that would stablize it are missing. I have no desire to return the item, Perhaps I can dig around and find a way to pry these tiny parts loose, or determine the size to get alternates.

Tables assemble in 5 minutes using wing-nuts; no tools or confusing instructions to deal with. I bought two of these to place next to a couple of Adirondack rockers I have on my deck- the size is perfect for drinks or snacks, the design blends in well with the background and they do not take up a great deal of space. Add to this their sturdiness- many similar tables come in 3 leg models, but this one balances much better with 4 legs. I think the actual product looks even better than pictured- e.g. the legs have a little more weight to them than how they appear in the photo, yet the overall sleek design and simple concept is maintained in this wrought iron design.

It's obviously cheap when you put it together, but it looks good. The instructions are a little hard to understand, and at times you just have to figure things out yourself. It seems really wobbly until it's completely put together, but once you get it all set up it's fine as long as you don't have people running around and bumping into it. It's pretty small, but if you have a smaller TV it's perfect. We have a 50" TV and it hangs over the edges a few inches, so a 40" or smaller would probably fit on it really well as long as it's flatscreen. Overall, I do recommend this for people who want to save money and don't have very big TVs.

This was a great find. The bottle is the size of my spice collection, and the top actually comes with a pour/shake top just like the spices do! We had a great time putting the filings in zippered sandwich bags, then laying them over a magnet. You can see the shape of the magnet's magnetic field if you shake them gently (with the top layer of plastic lifted slightly for the 3-D effect). Strip magnets from the fridge create a different pattern than standard N/S pole magnets. I also noticed that a little goes a long way with these. This should last quite a while.

Fun stuff to play with magnets. The only minus is the cap top doesn't work as designed. It comes with a spin top that allows you to pour out at different rates. However, the fillings get stuck in the cap so that it doesn't spin. And then the fillings that are stuck can 'leak' or fall out of the cap. Not sure why they just didn't use a simple plain cap in the first place. We just keep it in a zip lock bag.

I ordered this based on the other good reviews but was disappointed when I received it. The quality seemed alright but it wasn't very comfortable as it is a very upright sitting chair. It was too high for me to rest my head on and the fabric was hard so my head couldn't just sink into the back. It was too narrow for my husband and the fabric on the side didn't cover very much so I worried about a baby's head hitting the side. Needless to say it went back to Amazon, I paid a little more and got a higher end rocker that reclined and was way more comfortable and worth it.

My son is two months old and this chair has been a lifesaver since day one. Makes it much easier to get him to sleep. It glides smoothly and silently and the cushions are very comfy, especially after i put a pillow in the small of my back for support. My only complaint would be that the material is a bit rough on my elbows.

I have been looking for used gliders and couldn't find anything in good enough shape that was affordable. Then I came across this glider--it was a good price and it looked gorgeous! I jumped at the opportunity, since my little baby was already over a month old and I knew she needed this for her after-eating gassiness. The shipping was very timely and the packaging was great. It took about fifteen minutes to assemble and it came with all of the tools and parts needed. The chair is light enough so that we could easily get it upstairs and downstairs if needed. It is such a convenience to have the matching ottoman come right along with the chair. The natural wood color looks great with my crib and changing table (both have natural wood but are a different brand). The beige chenille cushions are so neutral that they will go with most decors. They are also very comfortable. So far, my daughter and I are having a lot of success nursing and burping with this glider! I highly recommend it (especially at the great sale price I received)!

This kit does a difficult task admirably – it offers novice designers a clear and understandable path through the complex processes of house design and paper model-building. As a K-12 design educator who uses 3-d Home Kits with my middle school (math and engineering) students, I can tell the creator of this kit has refined the process by teaching with the kit many times himself.

The wealth of information (text plus illustrations) in the “Hands-on Design + Math” section teaches a good introduction to the design process for students and homeowners alike: program (determining your needs); site considerations; interior spaces; how to work in scale; and roof design. The “Model Construction section, a concise step-by-step guide, wisely includes a sample room addition with which to practice.

Homeowners creating their own home design or remodel should be taking their time with process; I would suggest absorbing what this kit can teach, then doing drafts and rough study models using other paper and oak tag, then using the kit’s materials to create an attractive and useful final model.

After reading some strongly positive and negative reviews, I felt that as the inventor of the 3D Home Kit, I should provide an overview.

I invented the 3D Home Kit in 1983, to help homeowners construct detailed, three-dimensional, scale models of their own new home, addition and remodeling projects. The kit is based on my experience at Pratt Institute School of Architecture, from which I graduated in 1971, where I learned that constructing a model is the best way to design and visualize your building project. One of the first things I did with the prototype kit was to build a model house and compare it with a professional built model, costing hundreds of dollars; and when I saw that the kit model was similar quality, I knew that I had accomplished my goal.

The 3D Home Kit was an immediate success and over two-hundred thousand have been sold. As part of its success, the kit has been used in schools to assist in teaching architectural design, as well as math, history, writing, and home economics. I have been interested in pursuing the educational use of the kit and worked ten summers developing and teaching an architecture and mathematics workshop for high school students. My students thoroughly enjoyed the kit and their work has been outstanding as they designed and built wonderful models of their own dream homes.

When I worked with students, one question I had was whether to make a new "student" version of the 3D Home Kit. I spoke with several teachers who used the kit and one of them gave me the key: students are clever and quick to respond, and if you give them a professional kit they will give you their best "professional" effort, whereas if you give them a "student kit" then they will give you a typical student effort. Therefore, this is not a "student" kit.

In response to input from hundreds of teachers and students, I've added to the kit step-by-step model building instructions and a design primer with extensive lessons on home design. A new worksheet includes lessons on basic home design, roof design, as well as a section on designer and builder problems and solutions.

If you are purchasing the 3D Home Kit for a student under 14 years old, he or she will probably need assistance, and this presents a wonderful opportunity to work together on a terrific project. Working with the kit, you will experience firsthand some of the work and fun of being an architect. There is almost no limit to type of house you can build with this kit. So after I wrote the review below. The UPS started having issues. Sometimes it would be off when I went to use the computer. I was not sure if my kids turned it off, or maybe a power surge. It was very random. I did eventually rule out the kids and power surges. Then 1 day the unit would not turn back on. After 2 emails to Tripp Lite (1 to discribe the problem and the other to answer their questions, like serial #, devices hooked up (actual watts used)...) They responded quickly by sending me a new UPS. Not the same model but the same capacity. I have to rate the UPS 2 stars, but Tripp Lite gets 5 stars for their quick response.

Old Review:
I have had this UPS now for 9 months. It has come in handy on more than 1 occasion, with power going out a few times when I was using my PC. I have a Dell XPS desktop, 32" LCD monitor and 19" LCD monitor running on it with no issues. Works as expected, beeps loudly when the power is lower than expected (ie brown-out or no power).

It takes up very little room and has plenty of plugs and good spacing between them. The plug design is very simple with UPS backup on side and surge protected only on the other. The only minor thing to point out is the UPS connector is on the opposite side of the AC cord. So the way I have mine UPS on the floor is a slight protrusion from the USB cable back to the PC. Not a big deal, just not as clean as it could be.

This unit has been well worth it. I have another PC setup and wish I would have had a second unit for it, due to a power surge that ruined one of my external Hard Drives. So, now I am going to get another UPS (live and learn).

We have many brownouts where I live and having this hooked up for a month it has already been through 2 events. I was very surprised to see a USB wire enclosed that allows connection with the tower and shuts it down if I am not here. Love this unit and would not buy anything else. The on/off button is a little strange as you have to depress and hold for the unit to start or turn off, but that is a not enough to give it a less rating.

This jewelry holder was supposed to have 48 holes for earrings. 12 holes in four rows. The holder I received had 9 holes in 3 rows or a total of 27. Odd, given that ears come in even numbers. It would not even stand up without needing to bend the feet. And to my surprise I had a much bigger shipping fee and shipping time than I originally expected. Definitely not worth the money.

I read the reviews for this product before purchasing and decided to order it. Some of the reviews said that the stand came with only three rows of nine holes for earring but mine came with four rows of twelve earring holes so I have no complaints. Also my stand was in great condition when it arrived, not bent like some customers said. One more helpful thing I wanted to leave you with before you make your purchase is the dimensions of the product becuase for the life of me I could not figure it our before I decided to just wing it and order it anyway: 13" tall (necklaces hang 9 3/4" tall), and 12" wide. I hope this helps!

I purchased two of these jewelry holders, one for my daughter and one for myself. We are able to organize our jewelry really easy now, and hang the most-used jewelry on these holders since you can easily access them on it. The holder is actually smaller than it appears, but it can fit a lot of jewelry (we even use the loops on the top for bracelets). Large earrings are a problem though because they hang so low and wide. But the jewelry holder is nice in appearance, too, so on a night table top it looks really good with all the jewelry.

A Stylish Compact Fridge With Good Traits But So-So Performance, November 9, 2008

I'm usually overall elaborate with my reviews, but I'll be brief on this particular one since more than likely if you're reading this, you're probably buying this fridge on clearance or it's coming to its end of life cycle.

First the positive aspects of the fridge. Emerson has accomplished what many could not successfully do with other brand models, in that you have a fully functional TRUE freezer space inside a compact fridge. It's amazingly large and can actually fit regular tubs of half gallon ice cream. (The horizontal cartons anyway. Vertical cartons can be laid down on their sides) It can keep things in a solid block of ice if needed, and due to the low volume space of the freezer, it acts as a better ice cube maker.

The fridge has a TRUE FLAT back. No wires are exposed, you can literally sit it against the wall. The trick is that Emerson ran the cooling coil around the fridge, so that the heat sink is actually on its sides and bottom. They then covered it with thin plastic on all sides. The fridge is warm to the touch, but never hot because of this.

With positives come negatives of course. The fridge itself would be comparable to 3.9cu Ft models, but because of the enclosed freezer door, it is cut down to total 3.1cu Ft. (2.2cu Ft for space, 0.9 for freezer)

The fridge is HEAVY. It's 57.5lbs is not entirely accurate. Although I don't have an exact measurement, it definitely is a lot heavier than similar compact fridge models. Typically other models would be around 45lbs.

The refrigerator space is surprisingly weak compared to the very powerful freezer space. I'm assuming the motor that it uses is the same one on other fridges, so they implemented more research onto keeping the freezer cold, but not the fridge as cold. If you're a person who likes ICE cold drinks, you'll be in for some disappointment.

Neutral things that you can see positive or negative are follows.

It runs quiet, but runs constantly. The freezer needs to be kept in check and because it uses such a small motor, it has to keep running.

It has key locks. This can be useful if you want to keep alcohol in the fridge, but if you LOOSE your keys. Well, good luck.

Its unusual weight is placed onto four peg legs. If you have sensitive flooring, this can cause dents.

In the end, I like the fridge but don't love the fridge. It's definitely pretty, quiet, and has good freezer space. It's also heavy, runs constantly, and has limited fridge space for its size. This is a true MINI FRIDGE. Take that for what it is.

Although I reviewed this fridge back in November 2008, I actually had the fridge in May. Now is past the 2 year point and I'm happy to say the fridge is still going strong. I decided to update the review since I saw how many people found this helpful and I wanted to make sure my words didn't loose meaning over time.

First of all - this fridge is available in retail chains. So for those of you who are getting bad shipments, I suggest you simply go pick it up. It's a shipping issue between you and the vendor; not Emerson and their fridge.

Second - Always remember that this fridge's big selling point is the freezer space. The fridge space isn't any different from other mini-fridges you happen to come across.

For those of you who have actually e-mailed me about the "flat back" - yes, this fridge literally has a flat back. The cooling coil you find on most fridges (take a look behind your big one in your kitchen for example) was covered up by Emerson on this model, so it runs around the fridge but is covered by that black thick plastic material you see in the picture. It's really sleek, and very useful for those who want to shove the fridge in a corner with it's back facing outward. KEEP IN MIND for safety reasons, you should still give the fridge some breathing room around the edges.

Still a great fridge, still love mine. I would gladly pick up another one if I actually needed another one. This little guy isn't an Energy Star fridge, but almost no mini-fridge is unless it's those horrible coolers they pass off as fridges now-a-days. Thanks for reading as always.

You can purchase this through target, which may save you on shipping. They also have more reviews on there website than this one does. I ended up going to target. I asked them to open the package to make sure it wasn't damaged since most complained about this, the one I had didn't have any damage. This isn't real stainless steel, more of a look a like. It does have a lock, but my friend told me that you could go to the hardware store and buy the so called "key" (it's not a real key), so if you have a smart roommate this may not work. I like how it has 2 doors. The freezer gets cold. This is a little noisy. 1st off, I didn't keep this, b/c I found one similar that I liked better at walmart (SPT brand)--they have it on amazon as well, and i reviewed it on here. I think the soda holder can be a pro/con depending on if you have a use for it, I didn't. Doesn't hold a quarter of a gallon of milk unless you lay it on the side on the shelf or take the wire shelf out. I like the light inside.

I had a mini fridge in my room for a year and it broke so I replaced it with this Emerson one. I love it, the Freezer gets very very very cold, as well does the refrigerator part. You can store lots of things in it, and it even has its own storage compartment for fruits and cold cuts!

Be aware when you purchase this item. I didn't notice there are NO clasps on any of these chains. Therefore they are unusable. I read their return policy and it says "we will replace, exchange or refund at OUR option".
They get to decide. Of course they told me I could exchange only and they have nothing I'm interested in at this time except the clasps to go with these chains and they cost another .50! Go with the ones that already have the clasps. They are cheaper and usable when you buy them.
