The wedding festivities took place at the ultra-luxurious ITC Mementos Resort, nestled in the scenic hills of Udaipur. Breaking away from the typical big-fat Indian wedding template, Vijay and Rashmika opted for an intimate “destination” vibe, surrounded by only 100 of their closest friends and family members.

In a move that reflected their shared values, the couple opted for a registered marriage under the Special Marriage Act, with the Indian Constitution serving as the witness. While originally planned for the Sub-Registrar Office, the ceremony was moved to Vedan’s residence in Mulankunnathukavu due to potential logistical inconveniences at the office. The Sub-Registrar arrived at the residence to complete the formal registration.

The wedding was an intimate affair, attended only by close family members and friends. Following the registration, a reception was held in the evening at a resort in Poomala, Thrissur.

The news of the wedding first gained public attention when CPI(M) State Secretary M.V. Govindan announced it during the ‘Happiness Festival’ in Kannur last week. Vedan, who was being honored at the event, later confirmed the news, seeking blessings from his audience.

Vedan: A native of Thrissur, he rose to fame with his powerful track “Voice of the Voiceless” and recently won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Lyricist for the song “Kuthanthram” from the movie Manjummel Boys.

Navami Latha: A talented writer and law graduate from Maharajas Law College, she has been a constant presence by Vedan’s side at public events and award ceremonies. Vedan’s hit track “Mona Lova” was reportedly dedicated to her.

Pictures and videos from the ceremony and the pre-wedding bachelor party have since gone viral on social media. Fans and colleagues from the music and literary industries have flooded the couple’s profiles with congratulatory messages, praising the simplicity and uniqueness of their “Constitutional” wedding.ful statement.
