Comic 383 - At that moment, elsewhere...

My arm hurts rather badly, so I decided to go easy on it. Fortunately, I was able to think up a small "filler" comic that nevertheless would fit nicely in the narrative.

This update will be a squeenchy bit late; don't go worrying, it's just that I have a sore wrist. I probably shouldn't have gone drawing at all before letting it get better, but I guess I didn't!

Comic 380 - Pulling the Key

Still getting the hang of this. I've tried switching back to the old method with the backgrounds, which are more tolerable, and it seems to work well so far. I still need to get a handle on appropriate line thicknesses in the right places, among other things. That last panel is TURRRRIBLE.

Comic 378 - Blackout

There's somewhat of an interesting question. Is the idea of a small bird carrying something much larger than itself, or slowing its fall to any significant degree, merely a question of strength? The answer is no: no matter their might, such a creature cannot carry something above a certain weight or size into the air, as the problem is based around the size of their wings more than anything else. But should a character in Exalted be able to overcome that using magic? The Charm in question is ostensibly based purely on increasing muscular strength, but personally, I would allow Exalted magic to overcome physics in such a manner.

Comic 377 - Up up, and away!

Once again, I should clarify that I'm portraying events in a way which is not strictly accurate to how they would go if this were an actual game of Exalted. Ten would, if that were the case, have been able to defend himself more ably; contrariwise, he wouldn't have been able to pull off the massive tornado throw of the last page. Not without custom Charms or extreme stunting, anyway; if it really bothers you, assume one of those is the case (Though I think I did once actually write a custom Terrestrial Charm that did something similar to what he does in this one).

Comic 376 - An impromptu flight

I had originally planned for this to happen earlier, and I had to correct things. Unfortunately, I think said correction made the story recently a bit clunky.

Comic 375 - We don't want to fight, but...

Switching back to the two-thirds comic after the fiasco with the last one. You're probably all wondering what I'm going to do about this lamentable state of affairs; I hope, relatively soon, to try another art shift, hopefully to something both faster and more fulfilling. The current method is very easy, but tedious and, as time has passed, ever more onerous.

Another small delay with this page, hopefully short: I just need to catch up on my sleep, that's all. Some body kept my up until eight in the morning last night. They know who they are!

I don't think I'm feeling the action scenes in this comic like I used to. Have I gotten worse at them, or is it just my memory playing tricks on me?

I wonder at what point defense from cover ceases to be a factor. Obviously it's a combination of obscured targeting as well as physical protection, but when someone targets using another method (as Secret is doing) and is shooting, say, bolts of nega-energy from the Void at the End of All Things, shouldn't there be a reduced effect?
