Mostafa Mohamed is in Turkey to complete a move away from Nantes, with Konyaspor currently the leading candidate to sign the striker.

Sources close to the player have said that the forward had travelled to Turkey to finalise a transfer to a Süper Lig club. Konyaspor are to have submitted a lucrative offer and remain the most likely destination.

The forward has no intention of returning to Nantes at present, and he and his agent are trying to agree a financial settlement that would end his contract with the French club.

That remains a potential obstacle. Nantes want a transfer fee and do not intend to release Mohamed for free, according to French reports.

The same reports said Nantes had not received a concrete offer despite Mohamed’s contacts with Turkish clubs. His contract runs until June 2027.

As KingFut previously reported, Mostafa Mohamed remained outside Nantes’ first-team group while attracting interest from Turkey.

The 28-year-old has trained away from the senior squad since returning to the club in July. He also missed Nantes’ opening three Ligue 2 matches against Red Star, Laval and Rodez. His dispute with Nantes began when he failed to report for pre-season training on June 24. The club fined him for each day of his absence and planned further sanctions after struggling to contact him.

The former Zamalek player eventually returned on July 22 after almost a month away. He completed an individual session before joining the reserve team, according to L’Équipe. Mostafa Mohamed wants to continue playing in a top division following Nantes’ relegation from Ligue 1, and his contract also includes a wage reduction following the drop.

He scored four goals in 24 league appearances last season. His form contributed to his omission from Egypt’s squad for the World Cup.

Mohamed joined Nantes on loan from Galatasaray in 2022 before completing a permanent transfer in 2023. A move to Konyaspor would take him back to a league where he scored 15 goals during his time with Galatasaray.

Egyptian teenager Adham Refai has joined Belgian second-tier side RFC Liège from El Gouna on a season-long loan with an option to buy.

RFC Liège officially announced the transfer on Sunday, and while El Gouna described the agreement as a one-season loan in its announcement, Liège holds an option to make the move permanent.

Refai made his competitive debut on the day of the announcement. He entered in the 64th minute of Liège’s 3-2 away win over Jong Genk in the Challenger Pro League.

The 18-year-old replaced Ryan Ogam, who had scored what proved to be the winning goal six minutes earlier. Liège secured their first victory of the season after losing 2-1 to Francs Borains in their opening match.

Refai had already spent time with the Belgian side before completing the transfer, as RFC Liège said he featured in several of their pre-season friendlies.

Born on September 29, 2007, Refai primarily plays as an attacking midfielder. He can also operate on either wing, although El Gouna has mainly used him as a left winger.

RFC Liège described the right-footed player as a direct attacker who can beat opponents one-on-one and make an impact in the final third.

Refai made 14 first-team appearances for El Gouna last season. He scored two goals and registered two assists in the process. He has been part of El Gouna’s senior setup since 2025.

Refai also plays for the Egyptian national team at the under-19 level. He scored during the young Pharaohs’ 2-1 victory over Oman in May.

RFC Liège compete in Belgium’s second division and are seeking promotion to the Pro League. They next host Dender on Saturday, August 29.

Fabinho described the prospect of reuniting with Mohamed Salah at Trabzonspor as “very special” after arriving in Turkey.

The Brazilian midfielder landed in Trabzon on Monday and received a welcome from supporters at the airport. Trabzonspor have reached an agreement in principle with the 32-year-old. He will undergo a medical before completing the remaining contractual procedures.

Speaking after his arrival, Fabinho praised Salah’s character and commitment following their five seasons together at Liverpool.

“Playing with Salah again will be very special. He is not only a great player, but also a great person,” Fabinho told reporters upon his arrival.

Fabinho said Salah continues to prioritise the team despite everything he has achieved during his career. He also described their reunion after three years apart as “a special feeling.”

Fabinho is set to meet head coach Fatih Tekke to discuss his role. He said he was ready to play wherever the team needed him.

Trabzonspor announced Fabinho’s impending arrival with a video showing him wearing the club’s shirt aboard a private jet.

“A familiar face is waiting for me in Trabzon, and I am on my way,” he said in the club’s announcement.

Fabinho joined Liverpool from Monaco in 2018 and remained at Anfield until 2023. He made 219 appearances for the English club.

He played alongside Salah as Liverpool won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup. They also lifted the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

Fabinho left Liverpool for Al Ittihad in 2023, and made 111 appearances for the Saudi club, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists.

Salah joined Trabzonspor on a free transfer earlier this month after ending his nine-year Liverpool spell. He signed a two-year contract worth a guaranteed €17 million per season.

The Egypt captain also receives performance-related bonuses and a 20% share of proceeds from Trabzonspor merchandise carrying his name.

Salah scored his first two goals for Trabzonspor during Sunday’s 2-1 league victory over Istanbul Başakşehir. He also had two efforts disallowed on his first Süper Lig start.

Trabzonspor next visit Ferencváros in Thursday’s Europa League playoff second leg. The Turkish side trail 1-0 following the opening match in Trabzon.

Al Ahly recovered from two goals down to beat Sharkia ENPPI, as the opening round of the Egyptian Premier League concluded

The comeback gave Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta a victory in his first league match in charge of Al Ahly.

El Sharkia ENPPI stunned everyone by taking the lead in the 17th minute. Ali Ehab capitalised on an error by Ahmed Nabil Kouka and beat Mostafa Shobeir with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area.

The visitors had an opportunity to double their advantage six minutes later. However, Mohamed Hamdy sent his penalty wide of the right post.

El Sharkia scored their second goal one minute later. Mohamed Essam struck from long range to leave Shobeir with no chance.

Marwan Attia began Al Ahly’s comeback in the 34th minute. The midfielder found space outside the area and fired past Abdelrahman Samir to reduce the deficit before half-time.

Al Ahly increased the pressure after the restart, drawing level in the 69th minute after a Sharkia defender pushed Achraf Bencharki inside the penalty area. Ahmed Sayed Zizo converted the resulting spot-kick, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

Two substitutes combined for the winning goal in the 90th minute. Sofiane Benjdida played Afsha through on goal, and the midfielder placed his finish beyond Samir to complete the comeback.

The result gave Al Ahly their first three points of the season, while El Sharkia ENPPI, coached by former Al Ahly midfielder Mohamed Barakat, ended their top-flight return without a point despite leading 2-0 after 24 minutes.

Canal received a penalty of their own following an Ahmed Hany handball. Ibrahim Sami converted in the 51st minute to bring the visitors level.

Ceramica then had another opportunity from the spot after Mahmoud Shalata fouled Hany. Shaaban saved Bobo’s penalty to keep the score level.

Canal later went down to ten players when Momen Rady received a red card for a heavy challenge.

Despite their disadvantage, they claimed all three points in the seventh minute of stoppage time. Shalata released Ghanaian forward Mawuli Wayo with a long pass, and the substitute finished beyond Mohamed Bassam.

The result gave Canal a winning return to the Premier League and handed Ceramica an opening defeat.

Two Stoppage Time Goals Decide El Gouna Draw

El Gouna and Modern Sport drew 1-1 after both goals arrived in second-half stoppage time at Khaled Bichara Stadium.

Mohamed Salah scored a brace that secured a home victory over İstanbul Başakşehir and delivered the club’s first win of the season.

The Egyptian forward struck in the eighth and 48th minutes at Papara Park. He also had two stoppage-time goals disallowed during a standout performance on his first Süper Lig start.

Salah opened the scoring after Aral Şimşir crossed from the left and Başakşehir goalkeeper Muhammed Şengezer failed to hold the ball.

The 34-year-old reacted first and directed the loose ball towards goal. The referee initially awarded a corner after Christopher Operi attempted to clear it near the line, but VAR confirmed the ball had crossed.

Başakşehir equalised in the 19th minute. The referee awarded a penalty following a VAR review after Eldor Shomurodov’s shot struck Chibuike Nwaiwu’s arm. Shomurodov converted the spot-kick, sending André Onana the wrong way.

Salah restored the lead for Trabzonspor three minutes after the restart. He moved infield from the right, exchanged passes with Ernest Muçi and placed a left-footed finish beyond Şengezer.

Tottenham have reportedly agreed to sign Omar Marmoush from Manchester City on loan with a conditional obligation to buy.

Tottenham and Manchester City have reached an agreement over the 27-year-old, according to reports.

Marmoush is expected to travel to London for a medical on Monday. The move would then require the completion of contracts and registration documents.

The conditions that would activate Tottenham’s purchase obligation have not been disclosed yet. However, the reported structure differs from earlier accounts of the negotiations. Previous rumors suggested Tottenham were discussing a permanent transfer worth between £74 million and £75 million.

Marmoush had already agreed personal terms with Spurs, and Tottenham are reportedly preparing a contract that would keep him in North London until 2031 after the loan.

The Egypt international remained on the bench throughout City’s 2-1 Premier League win over Bournemouth during their first game of the season. His absence from the pitch came hours before reports of the agreement emerged.

He had featured in the Community Shield defeat by Arsenal one week earlier. Enzo Maresca introduced him as a second-half replacement for Erling Haaland.

Maresca previously distinguished Marmoush’s situation from those of players who had asked to leave City.

“Savio since day one asked to leave and Omar didn’t ask to leave since day one,” the City coach said on Friday.

However, Maresca acknowledged that the club would consider departures when players wanted to move, and suitable offers arrived.

Ibrahim Adel registered his second consecutive assist after coming on at half-time in Nordsjælland’s 3-0 Superliga win away to Sønderjyske.

Ibrahim Adel set up Markus Walker’s second goal in the 60th minute in a victory that moved Nordsjælland level with Brøndby on 10 points at the top of the league standings.

The 25-year-old started on the bench after playing 61 minutes against St Gallen in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday. Coach Jens Fønsskov Olsen made six changes from that match as he managed his squad between the two European legs.

Walker gave Nordsjælland the lead in the 44th minute. He met Mark Brink’s pass with a first-time volley shortly before half-time.

Ibrahim Adel then came in at the start of the second half, supplying Walker with the pass that allowed the defender to double the visitors’ advantage 15 minutes later.

Villum Berthelsen completed the scoring in the 87th minute to secure Nordsjælland’s third straight league victory.

Zamalek are preparing a FIFA complaint against Brazilian winger Juan Bezerra over his continued absence, as their dispute escalates.

The club’s board decided to take the matter to world football’s governing body, internal documents show. Zamalek have assembled a legal file containing the player’s contract, correspondence and documents related to his absence. Club officials have also reviewed the agreement to support their position before FIFA.

Bezerra has not returned to Cairo since the end of last season. He missed Zamalek’s pre-season preparations and their 1-1 opening-day draw with Ittihad of Alexandria.

The White Knights maintain that the 23-year-old remains under contract for another three seasons, and that he cannot leave or join another club without their approval.

The complaint would rely on FIFA’s rules governing unilateral breaches of contract. A player found to have terminated an agreement without just cause during its protected period could face compensation and a four-month ban from official matches. FIFA may extend the suspension to six months in aggravating circumstances.

As KingFut previously reported, the dispute became public after Bezerra accused the board of breaking an agreement over his departure.

The Brazilian said the Cairo giants had repeatedly promised him and his father that the club would sell him at an agreed price. He argued that the board changed its position after receiving an offer that could have produced the largest sale in the club’s history.

Zamalek denied making that promise. The club then announced that it had closed the door on his departure and would not consider further offers while he remained absent from training. Correspondence then showed that UAE side Shabab Al Ahli initially approached Zamalek on July 28.

Zamalek responded by requesting $6 million upfront, up to $1 million in performance-related bonuses and a 20% share of any future transfer fee. The conditions also included a right of first refusal if Bezerra later returned to Egypt.

The Emirati club replied with an offer worth $4 million plus bonuses of up to $1 million. Zamalek rejected that proposal and ended negotiations.

Head coach Motamed Gamal also declined to discuss the winger after the draw with Ittihad. “I only talk about the players who are present,” he said after the Premier League opener.

Zamalek signed Juan Bezerra from Ukrainian club Oleksandriya in 2025. He has since made 44 appearances, scoring eight goals and providing 12 assists.

Hossam Abdelmaguid made his Ludogorets debut as a late substitute in a 1-1 home draw with Slavia Sofia in the Bulgarian First League.

The 25-year-old started on the bench at Huvepharma Arena, later replacing Guinean midfielder Aguibou Camara in the 84th minute as Ludogorets made a defensive change while playing with 10 men.

Abdelmaguid helped the Bulgarian champions see out the closing stages without conceding. The appearance marked his first competitive match since joining from Zamalek in July.

Slavia took the lead after seven minutes. Ludogorets goalkeeper Hendrik Bonmann misjudged a corner, allowing Nikola Savić to score into the unguarded net.

The hosts’ task became more difficult when Rwan Seco caught Savić with a high challenge. Referee Mariyan Grebencharski initially showed the forward a yellow card but upgraded it to red after a VAR review.

Despite playing with 10 men, Ludogorets equalised in the 41st minute. Kwadwo Duah collected the ball following a defensive error and beat the goalkeeper with a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Neither side found a winner after the break. Abdelmaguid entered for the final 10 minutes, coming on in place of Camara.

The draw ended Ludogorets’ perfect start to the league season after five straight wins. They remain top of the table with 16 points from six matches. Ludogorets visit Spartak Varna for their next game on Sunday, August 30.

Abdelmaguid officially joined Ludogorets on July 18. He received an extended break after representing Egypt at the World Cup before reporting for training in Razgrad at the start of August.

The transfer cost the Bulgarian club around €1.5 million. The centre-back wears the number four shirt for the 14-time league champions. Abdelmaguid agreed a three-year contract with Ludogorets.

The Zamalek academy graduate has made 15 senior appearances for Egypt. He featured twice at the World Cup and converted the decisive penalty against Australia to send the Pharaohs into the round of 16.

Pyramids FC began their league season with a win against Ghazl El-Mahalla, while Al Masry and Tala’ea El-Gaish also secured victories.

Odeh Al-Fakhouri, Nasser Maher and Mahmoud Zalaka scored for Pyramids at El-Mahalla Stadium. The result moved the Cairo side to the top of the league on goal difference.

Al-Fakhouri opened the scoring in the 41st minute after Mohamed Chibi found the Jordanian forward inside the penalty area, and he converted to give Pyramids a half-time lead. Nasser Maher made it 2-0 in the 67th minute before Zalaka added the third seven minutes later.

The win gave South African coach Rhulani Mokwena three points in his first Egyptian Premier League match in charge of Pyramids.

Mokwena’s side are seeking their first league title after finishing runners-up last season. They will next host newly promoted Abu Qir Fertilizers, who made history a day earlier, on Thursday, August 27.

Al Masry Begin With Narrow Win

Al Masry also began their campaign with a victory, beating Smouha 1-0 at New Suez Stadium.

The only goal arrived in the 76th minute when Smouha goalkeeper Ahmed Mayhoub put the ball into his own net. Al Masry held on to collect their opening three points.

El-Gaish Edge Arab Contractors

Earlier, Tala’ea El-Gaish defeated Arab Contractors 1-0 at the Military Sports Authority Stadium.

Ahmed Alaa scored the winner in the 70th minute. The defender beat goalkeeper Mahmoud Abou El-Saoud with a direct free kick to secure the victory for Gomaa Mashhour’s side.

El-Gaish had an earlier goal disallowed after officials ruled that the ball had gone out of play during the build-up.

Late Equaliser Denies Asyut Petroleum

The day’s other match ended in a 1-1 draw between Asyut Petroleum and Suez Petrojet.

After a goalless first half, Ahmed Khaled gave Asyut Petroleum the lead in the 75th minute. The hosts appeared set to take all three points, but Ahmed Bahbah equalised for Suez Petrojet in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Suez Petrojet had earlier struck the post with a long-range effort, while the late equaliser ensured that both teams opened the season with one point.
