New York Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2026 has officially wrapped. What's to come next fall? A look back to the past...Nostalgia takes center stage this season. Romantic silhouettes inspired by the '60s and '70s were reimagined at Cinq à Sept and Cucculelli Shaheen, and '70s punk was reimagined at Boy London. Structured silhouettes are also having a moment alla '80s at Nardos, with strong shoulders and lots of peplums. Rich texture and lots of layering there and everywhere, as well as at Frederick Anderson where black was back in a big way. At Pamella Roland, she was inspired by the penguins of Antarctica with lots of black and white looks. While the runways offer plenty of sheer looks for fall, there's also a ton of rich velvets and furs to keep us warm and cozy for a night out on the town, just like many of the classic styles at Dennis Basso.

For his Fall/Winter 2026 collection, Dennis Basso looked to the sophistication and allure of New York evenings, channeling the timeless elegance of style icons such as Nan Kempner, C.Z. Guest, and Pat Buckley. The result is a lineup that feels both glamorous and assured--an homage to the ritual of dressing up for a night in the city. 'In this collection we've worked with gazar and tweed, hand-embroidered brocade, feather detailing, chiffon, beautiful silk and charmeuse--and we've incorporated a great deal of velvet as well,' Basso said. The rich interplay of textures and fabrics underscores the collection's sense of refinement and drama. Basso also gravitated toward a predominantly black-and-white, monochromatic palette for the season, reinforcing the line's polished, graphic appeal. Ultimately, the collection celebrates the moment of stepping out--when confidence, beauty, and impeccable style converge. 'Fashion should make you look good, but it should also make you feel good--that was my objective with this collection,' he shared.

Boy London debuted its Fall/Winter 2026 'Guillotine' men's and women's collection at New York Fashion Week, staging the show inside St. Paul's German Lutheran Church on Friday the 13th. The dramatic setting--steeped in gothic architecture and old-world reverence--heightened the collection's exploration of heritage, rebellion, and reinvention. Backstage, creative director Can Tran explained that the season was conceived as both a tribute and a forward statement. 'We wanted to do a lot of research and bring back nostalgic pieces but have a touch of modern fabrication. Inspirations from medieval dress--I mean, what inspires more than archival pieces?' he shared. The result was a thoughtful fusion of past and present: silhouettes drawn from medieval tunics, doublets, and ecclesiastical robes were reimagined in contemporary proportions and technical fabrics. The collection leaned heavily into layered tailoring and statement outerwear. Oversized wool coats featured sharp, almost armor-like shoulders, while elongated leather trenches were detailed with metal hardware and corset-style lacing. Founded in 1976 by Stephane Raynor on London's King's Road, Boy London emerged from the epicenter of Britain's punk movement. What began as a cult streetwear label has evolved into a global brand synonymous with bold graphics and subcultural attitude. 'Guillotine' felt like a return to those roots. Hair and makeup extended the narrative, drawing on punk and New Romantic influences. Smudged, grungy eyeliner contrasted with pale complexions, while teased textures and sharply cut, colorful wigs added a theatrical edge. The looks balanced rebellion with romance, echoing the collection's interplay between medieval drama and streetwise modernity.

Ethiopian-born designer Nardos Imam presented her Fall 2026 Bespoke Collection, 'The Infinite Banquet,' at New York Fashion Week this week, hosting the runway show at The Plaza Hotel. The collection centered on themes of legacy, heritage, and connection, using the symbolism of a shared dinner table as its foundation. 'The Infinite Banquet is a life where presence, legacy, and human connection never run out,' Imam said. 'You're not merely a guest at the table--you are its very soul.' The lineup featured sculptural, architectural silhouettes, including exaggerated peplums, asymmetrical waists, and flowing capes. Imam described the pieces as wearable art designed to place the wearer at the center of her own story. Drawing on her experience as a first-generation immigrant, Imam explored the idea of building heritage without inherited traditions, weaving personal history into the craftsmanship of each gown. Floral motifs--reimagined as intricate 3D appliqués--appeared throughout the collection. A bold color palette dominated the runway, with rich red emerging as a key theme.
For Fall 2026, Pamella Roland turned to Antarctica as her muse, channeling the continent's stark majesty and icy stillness into a collection defined by sculptural elegance. Vast frozen landscapes and glacial terrain inspired silhouettes that feel commanding yet ethereal. Guests including Nicky Hilton, Trinity Bliss, and Frances Turner attended the presentation to preview the designer's latest vision. A dramatic black-and-white palette -- reminiscent of Antarctic penguins -- anchors the collection, while shades of glacial blue, silver, and deep jewel tones are warmed with soft blush and nude accents. Airy organza and chiffon mirror the fluidity of ice and water, contrasted by sequins, velvet, and patent leather for a sleek, contemporary edge. Surface details subtly echo the natural world, with crystal and pearl embellishments catching the light like frost. Standout looks included a glossy black cape with modern hardware and a shimmering halter gown layered beneath a dramatic satin opera coat for a striking finale.
Cinq à Sept unveiled its Fall 2026 collection with its first-ever runway show during New York Fashion Week at the Prince George Ballroom, marking a major milestone for the brand's ten-year anniversary. Elevating the celebratory mood, the Young People's Chorus of New York City performed a soundtrack of 1970s classics as models took to the runway, with hits from Fleetwood Mac, The Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan, The Beatles, and the Bee Gees setting a nostalgic tone. Named for the French phrase that captures the fleeting transition between late afternoon and early evening, Cinq à Sept continues to explore the tension between polish and allure. For Fall 2026, the collection channels the free-spirited energy of the 1970s, anchored in the femininity, creativity, and subtle rock-and-roll edge that have long defined the brand's identity. Cascading ruffles and ornate embroidery appear alongside sheer fabrics and daring necklines, creating a dialogue between romance and boldness. Lace-trimmed silk, gold brocade, rich florals, and plush faux fur refresh the label's signature silhouettes while introducing new dimensions. The color story is rooted in warm ochre, deep burgundy, olive, and ivory, energized by flashes of vivid poppy red and striking cobalt blue. Standout looks included a lace-edged silk empire-waist gown that skimmed the floor with an air of modern romance, as well as a sweeping maxi skirt styled with a sharply tailored, waist-cinching jacket for contrast. High-shine vegan naplak leather appeared throughout the collection, sometimes styled in coordinated sets, and elsewhere layered into softer ensembles, lending a sleek, contemporary edge. Titled La Célébration, the collection serves as both reflection and renewal -- honoring a decade of Cinq à Sept while reaffirming the timeless influences and evolving spirit that continue to shape the brand.

In a striking departure from last season's effervescent, resort-inspired palette, Frederick Anderson embraced a moodier, more introspective vision for his Fall 2026 New York Fashion Week collection. With an eye toward resilience and emotional fortitude, Anderson crafted a line that exudes the strength needed to weather life's storms. 'This is a tough time...usually in tough times there are these great anthems that are created,' the designer reflected, citing the raw power of musical icons like Amy Winehouse, Aretha Franklin, and Nina Simone as his muses. Anderson's collection is a masterclass in layered sophistication. Rich fabrics including his signature lace motifs, and textured knits--are stacked and intertwined in tonal blacks, creating depth and movement that allow the wearer to radiate from within. 'Everything had so many layers and depth, but all in black, so when you layer it on it's like the woman shines through,' he explained. On the runway, models transformed into contemporary muses of musical legends. Thick, winged liner and teased beehives paid homage to Winehouse's iconic look. Each silhouette conveyed a story of strength--channeling the spirit of music's greatest voices, he created a collection that resonates emotionally, proving that true style comes from the confidence to stand strong, even in the darkest of hues.

Inspired by American modern art, Pamella Roland delivers a colorful collection for Spring/Summer 2026. This season, the celebrated red carpet designer channels the fluid elegance of Georgia O'Keeffe, the striking structure of Frank Stella, the playful irreverence of Andy Warhol, and the radiant vibrancy of Alice Baber. A lively color story takes the runway, with soft shades of aqua, blush, and champagne evolving into vibrant hints of lemon, fuchsia, and crimson. Custom ombré chiffons pay homage to O'Keeffe's floral motifs, while watercolor chine fabrics evoke Baber's expressive color landscapes. Intricate embroidery lends the pieces both delicacy and definition. Dimensional tulle florals and feathered ombré details nod to O'Keeffe's organic forms, while metallic accents and a sharp lemon Mikado cocktail dress reflect Stella's geometric discipline. The collection transported us to the Mediterranean, bursting with vibrant teals and breezy, beach-ready resort wear, including tunics, maxi dresses, and sundresses.
Married designer duo Anna Rose Shaheen and Anthony Cucculelli unveiled their Collection 21, titled 'Flaming Hearts,' at New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2026. The sunset-lit runway show at Pier 40's Picnic House featured live music by The Thing, while front-row guests included Halestorm's Lzzy Hale and actress Bianca Lawson. Anthony Cucculelli shared insight into the creative process, stating 'So this collection, like the last two seasons, we've really tried to just get inside of ourselves. Rather than be inspired by something or pull different artists and inspirations, we wanted to bring out all the things that we love--prints, motifs, including some archive motifs we used this season. For six months, we were constantly feeding our brain with shows, live music, and all this stuff, and then realized it's about releasing all of that inspiration.' This season, the collection takes a fresh direction with both silhouette and surface, striking a balance between ease and complexity. The design team introduced looser, more fluid shapes, deliberately moving away from rigid structure and heavy construction, allowing the garments to breathe and move effortlessly. Tactile richness dominates the collection, with Italian brocades and specialty card fabrics reimagined through innovative layering and hand-beating techniques that create striking dimensionality. Handcrafted details abound, with intricate appliqué work layered over tie-dyed bases, blending print and texture in unexpected, captivating ways. Beading and embroidery contribute to a maximalist aesthetic, resulting in pieces that expertly balance artisanal craftsmanship with wearable lightness. 'Flaming Hearts' is a vivid allegory of virtue and love, a fusion of progress and beauty--an ode to passion that simply can't be contained.

Among the notable guests lighting up the front row were lifestyle mogul Martha Stewart, pop icon Cyndi Lauper, avant-garde designer Thom Browne, model and DJ Theodora Richards, and actress Christina Hendricks. Johnson Hartig, the founder and creative director of Libertine once again proved his masterful ability to blur the boundaries between fashion, art, and cultural commentary. Speaking backstage, Hartig shared that the inspiration for his Spring 2026 collection was as expansive as it was personal--drawing from his passions from gardening to politics. However, the focus of the line is rooted in the idea of a love revolution -- a call to reclaim humanity, joy, and honesty in the face of darkness. The runway echoed that sentiment with models strutting down the grassy aisles wearing hand-printed linens, vivid florals across tailored jackets, and lightweight separates in psychedelic hues. Of course, legendary designer and Old Navy Chief Creative Officer Zac Posen added his expertise to refine the fit, seams, and additional details. It's truly bringing the red carpet to real life at an affordable price--and the prices are unbeatable, ranging from $24.99 to $65.99. The collection includes 12 dresses and a matching top-and-skirt set, made with elevated fabrics like taffeta and chiffon. The prints are hand-painted by Old Navy's in-house print team. The design team focused on versatility, effortlessness, and confidence, key elements of the collection. One way the team achieves that is by offering sizes for everyone.
New York Designer Dennis Basso has 'the strong, stylish, intelligent, and practical New York woman' in mind, while he handcrafts his beautiful work. Drawing inspiration from decades of her evolution, Basso says he sought to capture--dinner dresses, cocktail pantsuits, and evening gowns for a woman who commands her wardrobe, not the other way around. How that translates? Neutral champagnes, creams and off-whites elevated with hints of gold, while black-and-cream tweeds are enriched with pearl embellishments and subtle touches of Lurex. Rich tones of deep Bordeaux and classic black ground the collection, ensuring a balance of richness and neutrality. The fabrics--silk charmeuse, duchess satin, tweed, velvet, organza, and tulle--are accented with intricate hand-embroidered details. Silhouettes are lean and elegant, with long sleeves and romantic ball gown skirts, creating a harmonious blend of structure and softness. This strong stylish woman will also apparently be very warm, with no shortage of luscious furs, sable, mink, curly lamb; both cropped and very long, classic, but reimagined with a contemporary edge.

At 77 years old, Lucci was perfect to personify this message. The beauty told us she had never walked the runway but was flattered to do so when Basso asked her. The age-inclusive line was created with fabrics that sing with Spring-Summer energy. They include light tweed, timeless chiffon, double-faced satin, embroidered lace, silk jacquard, and elegant, printed silk gazar. Man-tailored fitted jackets, both single and double-breasted, mix with straight-leg trousers, wide-leg hostess pants, and the elegant modern-day pantsuit. Pleated chiffon cocktail dresses and gowns carry the spirit into evening. Faux fur cropped jackets ward off the chill of dusk, or opt for hand-cut 'petal ruffle boleros.' A color palette of pale mint, sky blue, coral, and cream, with touches of gold, silver, and caviar sequins, finishes the evening looks with a touch of whimsy and classic glamour.
Actresses Vanessa Williams, Kelly Rutherford and Elizabeth Gillies, along with model and designer Nicky Hilton, ballet dancer, Misty Copeland, comedian Janelle James, and model and The Real Housewives of New York City star Ubah Hassan sat front row to take in Designer Pamella Roland's Fall 2024 collection in New York City Monday afternoon. The designer says this season is a nod to the country of Brussels' and its architectural marvels; with gowns boasting structured lines, and draping inspired by the city's intricate buildings. Inspired by a recent trip there, the collection blends the country's historical charm through a color palette of bronze tones, shades of red, wine, golds, and rich chocolate browns. Touches of sunset and soft pastels, ice blues, blush, ivory, and nudes also abound. Velvet, sequins, and jacquard, and cashmeres offer rich texture, reflecting the plush ambiance of the country's historic interiors, while Roland's ever present intricate embroideries such as draped pearl fringe, 3D organza flowers, and gold feather roses stunned the crowd.
NYC Designer Terry Singh began his journey into the world of fashion in the late 70s, when a transformative trip to India served as a catalyst to create clothing that was truly powerful, embodying self-expression and individuality. Today his mission is no different, showing a powerful mens collection that was inspired once again, by a trip to India, but this time, immersing himself into the Parambikulam Tiger reserve of Kerala. Seeking 'escape from the human world,' Singh says he found himself by a stream, surrounded by the profound imprints of mighty tiger paws, and was waiting to be consumed by one of them. After two days of deep meditation and anticipating the transformative embrace of a tiger's consumption, he gained a newfound desire to meld his essence with the majestic creature that never came. Hence the inspiration for this Fall 2024 collection; the notion that we embody everything, existing across all realms. The evolution he says, 'of becoming something.'

Designer Victor dE Souza's devotion to highly structured silhouettes and precision stitching began as a young man in Argentina, rifling through his grandmother's extravagant closet. His Fall 2024 collection 'Return to Gotham,' is a tribute to the past meeting the present, transforming his gothic-inspired silhouettes into modern, high-impact statement pieces with decadent detail. Gilded embroidery, gleaming gold metal flowers, ruffle-edged suits, and oversized bows that are a tribute to these lost histories and the fantasies that come with re-imagining them.

Inspired by a recent conversation with his sister on country music's origin in the blues, Frederick Anderson examined the two music genres' differences and similarities to design his Fall 2024 line. His luxurious collection expresses the blues through his lens of living in New York City in the 90s. The silhouettes are a little more lose and free, sitting away from the body, with fabrics ranging from satin to crochet and some looks giving 'a little bit of a Joan Jett' feel which is complimented by the models in rock and roll shag wigs and punky makeup.
