On this, the final episode of Man With a Movie Podcast, we’re talking about James Franco’s 2017 bad-movie biopic The Disaster Artist. Based on the book by Greg Sestero, the movie tells the story behind the making of one of the most famous bad movies ever made, The Room. James and Dave Franco star as the two leads in this loosely comedic adaptation. Join us as we discuss James Franco’s portrayal of Tommy Wiseau and the relationship between him and Greg.

This is also the final episode of the show, so we wrap up the episode with a little bit of meta-conversation about ourselves. We talk about the origin of the podcast and some of the movies we loved discussing and wished we could cover. This was a proof-of-concept run for the format of the show, so it’s a little looser and less polished than other episodes. But the passion for the film, 2016’s superhero smash-hit Deadpool, and the natural flow of our conversation makes for a lively listen.

Join us and our special guest Caitlin Holzapfel as we discuss the meta superhero film based on the famously meta and irreverent comic book. We discuss the fourth-wall breaks, the references to Ryan Reynold’s career, and how the movie works within the superhero genre.
