Facility equipment attached to the person or called protective equipment (personal protective equipment), including:

- Protective eye and face

Safety glasses (figure 1.7a) is the equipment most
widely used as protective eyewear. Although it seems
similar to ordinary glasses, but a stronger safety glasses
and impact resistant and heat resistant than ordinary glass eye.
Goggle provides better protection than

Face shield (Figure 1.8a) provides protection

Perlengkapan dan peralatan
penunjang program K3,
meliputi:

Promosi program K3; yang terdiri dari:

Sarana peralatan yang melekat pada orang atau disebut perlengkapan perlindungan diri (personal protective equipment), diantaranya:

- Pelindung mata dan wajah

Kaca mata safety (gambar 1.7a) merupakan peralatan yang paling
banyak digunakan sebagai pelindung mata. Meskipun kelihatannya
sama dengan kacamata biasa, namun kaca mata safety lebih kuat
dan tahan benturan serta tahan panas dari pada kaca mata biasa.
Goggle memberikan perlindungan yang lebih baik dibandingkan
safety glass sebab lebih menempel pada wajah (gambar 1.7b)

Pelindung wajah (gambar 1.8a) memberikan perlindungan
menyeluruh pada wajah dari bahaya percikan bahan kimia, obyek
yang beterbangan atau cairan besi. Banyak dari pelindung wajah ini
dapat digunakan bersamaan dengan penggunaan helm.

Helm pengelas (gambar 1.8b) memberikan perlindungan baik pada
wajah dan juga mata. Helm ini menggunakan lensa penahan khusus
yang menyaring intesnsitas cahaya serta energi panas yang
dihasilkan dari kegiatan pengelasan.

− Pelindung pendengaran, dan jenis yang paling banyak digunakan:
foam earplugs, PVC earplugs, earmuffs (gambar 1.9)

− Pelindung kepala atau helm (hard hat) yang melindungi kepala
karena memiliki hal berikut: lapisan yang keras, tahan dan kuat
terhadap benturan yang mengenai kepala; sistem suspensi yang
ada didalamnya bertindak sebagai penahan goncangan; beberapa
jenis dirancang tahan terhadap sengatan listrik; serta melindungi
kulit kepala, wajah, leher, dan bahu dari percikan, tumpahan, dan tetesan.

Jenis-jenis pelindung kepala seperti pada gambar 1.10, antara lain:
Kelas G untuk melindungi kepala dari benda yang jatuh; dan
melindungi dari sengatan listrik sampai 2.200 volts.
Kelas E untuk melindungi kepala dari benda yang jatuh, dan dapat
melindungi dari sengatan listrik sampai 20.000 volts.
Kelas F untuk melindungi kepala dari benda yang jatuh, TIDAK
melindungi dari sengatan listrik, dan TIDAK melindungi dari
bahan-bahan yang merusak (korosif)

− Pelindung kaki berupa sepatu dan sepatu boot, seperti terlihat pada
gambar 1.11a-g, antara lain:

a) Steel toe, sepatu yang didesain untuk melindingi jari kaki dari
kejatuhan benda
b) Metatarsal, sepatu yang didesain khusus melindungi seluruh
kaki dari bagian tuas sampai jari
c) Reinforced sole, sepatu ini didesain dengan bahan penguat dari
besi yang akan melindungi dari tusukan pada kaki
d) Latex/Rubber, sepatu yang tahan terhadap bahan kimia dan
memberikan daya cengkeram yang lebih kuat pada permukaan yang licin.
e) PVC boots, sepatu yang melindungi dari lembab dan membantu
berjalan di tempat becek
f) Vinyl boots, sepatu yang tahan larutan kimia, asam, alkali, garam, air dan darah
g) Nitrile boots, sepatu yang tahan terhadap lemak hewan, oli, dan bahan kimia

− Pelindung tangan berupa sarung tangan dengan jenis-jenisnya
seperti terlihat pada gambar 1.12a-g,antara lain:

yang tajam dan melindungi tangan dari terpotong
b) Leather gloves, melindungi tangan dari permukaan yang kasar.

c) Vinyl dan neoprene gloves, melindungi tangan dari bahan kimia beracun

e) Padded cloth gloves, melindungi tangan dari sisi yang tajam, bergelombang dan kotor.
f) Heat resistant gloves, melindungi tangan dari panas dan api
g) Latex disposable gloves, melindungi tangan dari bakteri dan kuman

− Pelindung bahaya jatuh dengan jenis-jenis antara lain: (gambar 1.13)

a) Full Body Hardness (Pakaian penahan Bahaya Jatuh), sistim
yang dirancang untuk menyebarkan tenaga benturan atau
goncangan pada saat jatuh melalui pundak, paha dan pantat.

Pakaian penahan bahaya jatuh ini dirancang dengan desain
yang nyaman bagi si pemakai dimana pengikat pundak, dada,
dan tali paha dapat disesuaikan menurut pemakainya. Pakaian
penahan bahaya jatuh ini dilengkapi dengan cincin “D” (high)
yang terletak dibelakang dan di depan dimana tersambung tali
pengikat, tali pengaman atau alat penolong lain yang dapat
dipasangkan

b) Life Line (tali kaitan), tali kaitan lentur dengan kekuatan tarik
minimum 500 kg yang salah satu ujungnya diikatkan ketempat
kaitan dan menggantung secara vertikal, atau diikatkan pada
tempat kaitan yang lain untuk digunakan secara horisontal

c) Anchor Point (Tempat Kaitan), tempat menyangkutkan pengait
yang sedikitnya harus mampu menahan 500 kg per pekerja
yang menggunakan tempat kaitan tersebut. Tempat kaitan harus dipilih untuk mencegah kemungkinan jatuh. Tempat kaitan, jika
memungkinkan harus ditempatkan lebih tinggi dari bahu pemakainya

d) Lanyard (Tali Pengikat), tali pendek yang lentur atau anyaman
tali, digunakan untuk menghubungkan pakaian pelin-dung jatuh
pekerja ke tempat kaitan atau tali kaitan. Panjang tali pengikat
tidak boleh melebihi 2 meter dan harus yang kancing pengaitnya
dapat mengunci secara otomatis

e) Refracting Life Lines (Pengencang Tali kaitan), komponen yang
digunakan untuk mencegah agar tali pengikat tidak terlalu
kendor. Tali tersebut akan memanjang dan memendek secara
otomatis pada saat pekerja naik maupun pada saat turun.

Pelaksanaan kegiatan K3 di lapangan meliputi:

Kegiatan K3 di lapangan berupa pelaksanaan safety plan, melalui kerjansama dengan instansi yang terkait K3, yaitu depnaker, polisi dan rumahnsakit.

Pengawasan pelaksanaan K3, meliputi kegiatan:

− Safety patrol, yaitu suatu tim K3 yang terdiri dari 2 atau 3 orang yang
melaksanakan patroli untuk mencatat hal-hal yang tidak sesuai
ketentuan K3 dan yang memiliki resiko kecelakaan.
− Safety supervisor; adalah petugas yang ditunjuk manajer proyek
untuk mengadakan pengawasan terhadap pelaksanaan pekerjaan
dilihat dari segi K3.
− Safety meeting; yaitu rapat dalam proyek yang membahas hasil
laporan safety patrol maupun safety supervisor

Pelaporan dan penanganan kecelakaan, terdiri dari:
