How did K Formula transform My Hair! | India's First Peptide-Powered HairCare Brand

When any opportunity in life aligns with your vision board, thank the Universe and take up all of it! Something similar happened with K Formula for me. My 2026 Vision Board has long, shiny and luscious locks as one of the visions I'd like to achieve for myself.

I have been supplementing my diet to boost my hair and massaging my scalp in various ways, but after many trials and errors this year, I haven't found a haircare product line that works.

That's when K Formula's products came to my attention and immediately aligned with what I have been trying to fix: damage to my brittle hair from within and achieving a healthy scalp and hair!

So, who or what is K Formula?

Here's what got me curious in the first place: K Formula isn't just another brand promising shine on the label. It's a biology-first haircare brand, built on years of bioscience research in the lab, that set out to fix hair damage from the inside instead of just coating over it.
Where most Indian haircare works superficially, either conditioning the surface for temporary shine or patching damage that comes right back, the folks at K Formula went and found peptides that work at the molecular level instead, targeting the disulfide bonds and polypeptide chains inside every strand.
And here I was thinking peptides are only for plump skin!

Okay, so in simpler words? The formula of the products reconnects what's actually broken inside your hair, not just what you can see on the outside. And it's vegan, cruelty-free, dermatologist-tested, safe for colour-treated hair, and made in India, which made it an even easier yes for me. You can explore more on their Instagram page !

The Lineup I'm Trying

Since my hair damage has been visiting me for a while (thank you, trial and error era!), I didn't want to just add one product and hope. So I picked up the full routine to actually give the peptides a fair shot at repairing what I have broken over a long time.

My Tip: Think of these less like four separate products and more like one system, each one meant to build on the last, from pre-wash repair to a leave-in that keeps working after you've stepped out of the shower.

I'll be walking through how each one fits into my routine, what it felt and smelled like, and most importantly, whether my hair actually agreed with all the science talk. Let's get into it, but before that, let me share my hair type because it is very important! I have a dandruff-prone, oily scalp that tends to run dry at times. My hair itself is low porosity, wavy hair with years of damage.

Let's get started with my 3 P's - Price, Product, and Perception.

The product details of each of the 4 products are individually mentioned at each of their step and I will give an overall perception or review summary of all 4, because, like I said earlier in this post, I am treating these as a system rather than 4 different products. Step 1: Peptide Hair Corrector (Pre-Shampoo Treatment)

This is where the whole routine starts, and honestly, it's the step I was most curious about. Also because I kinda messed up using this the first time!

The K Formula Peptide Hair Corrector is a pre-shampoo treatment, so it goes on before you even hit the shower, and it's meant to work on the damage sitting deep inside the hair, at the keratin chains, rather than just smoothing over what you see on the surface. You leave it on for about 10 minutes on damp hair from roots to ends, and it's meant to reverse damage from heat, colouring and chemical treatments, cut down breakage and split ends, and basically prep your hair so the shampoo and conditioner that follow can actually do their job better. But they also recommend skipping the conditioner or the leave-in conditioner for that wash if you use the corrector. More on this in the next section.

The corrector itself is a light cream-like product, with a mild and fresh floral-herbal scent, perfect for someone who doesn't like strong fragrances. It gets absorbed into damp hair very quickly, and feels like a very light hair mask. I tried this with my usual anti-dandruff shampoo as well, and was impressed with how it performs.

How to use Step 1 from K Formula

Step 2: K Formula Peptide Shampoo

Right after the corrector comes the shampoo, and this one's doing double duty: cleansing without undoing all that pre-shampoo repair work. It's a mild, pH-balancing formula with aloe vera and hydrolysed rice protein, so instead of stripping your hair the way a lot of shampoos do, it's meant to lock in the peptide repair, add shine, and leave hair soft and easy to manage. They say that it's gentle enough for daily use, but I'll be using it more like 2 times a week alongside a combination of the rest of the routine.

The peptide shampoo is a clear, fragrance-free gel shampoo that doesn't lather much! So if you're one of those people who like a bit of a foamy hair wash, then I'll suggest a double shampoo for the psychological satisfaction. But by itself, the shampoo does a great job of cleaning the hair and the scalp.

However, I would not recommend the shampoo if you have heavily oiled your hair and have skipped the corrector as a first step. Again, to reiterate, look at this as step 2 in the routine, not a standalone one.

Step 3: K Formula Peptide Conditioner

The K Formula Conditioner is the nourishment step. Whatever the shampoo ends up stripping, the conditioner is meant to go back in and replenish it, sealing damaged areas and working on making the hair more manageable with every wash.

It's got glycerin and panthenol for hydration, and the whole idea is that it's not just sitting on top of your strands; it's meant to work from within, so the softness actually holds up over the next few days and not just till your next wash. Panthenol has been one of my favourite skincare ingredients from the COVID days; I am happy that my hair can also benefit from it now.

The conditioner comes in a tub, not a packaging I am a fan of, but the thick, creamy conditioner cannot be in a squeeze-y bottle, and that is why I am willing to make an exception for it. It has a beautiful fragrance, as in Step 1, and it lingers on for a few minutes after you step out of the shower.

The best part of it all: as you rinse the conditioner off, the water seems to detangle the hair right away, which is my favourite part!

Step 4: K Formula Molecular Magic Mask

And the last step of the system, the one that stays on for days. This one goes on towel-dried hair after the conditioner, and you don't rinse it out. With hydrolysed keratin and hyaluronic acid, it's meant to keep rebuilding strength and elasticity while also locking in long-lasting moisture and shine, essentially carrying on the repair work well after you've stepped out of the shower and gone about your day. Since it has HA, I tend to put this on pretty damp hair, and then air dry a bit.

I have used this only a couple of times and would love to try more and update here, so stay tuned! I have used it as a heat protectant, but not as a frizz controller, so more updates coming on that front!

The Perception

Peptide Hair Corrector

Price: ₹700 for 200 ml
Perception: Left my hair feeling absolutely like a cloud and helped tame my hair overall. It does result in a bit of residue on hair and an oily feeling on the scalp if you use both the leave-in conditioner and the conditioner after shampoo. So choose correctly. I have loved using this, and a little damp hair goes a long way, so you can go about your day doing what you need, while your hair is getting repaired!

Peptide Shampoo

Price: ₹1,150 for 400 ml
Perception: Cleanses without stripping my hair and scalp. I would say that I was hoping for more product given that each wash needs a good amount of the product, but for the wonderful job it does, I am happy to pay the amount for this amazing peptide shampoo for damaged hair.

Peptide Conditioner

Price: ₹800 for 200 ml
Perception: Doesn't weigh my hair down, running my fingers through my hair becomes super easy with this on and off. What else is there to love? Detangles and nourishes hair, gives a beautiful sheen to my hair, styled or otherwise.

Molecular Magic Mask

Price: ₹750 for 200 ml
Perception: For my low-porosity hair, this leave-in creamy mask is amazing. I used 2-3 pumps, which was great; I did not need to use more than that. Keeps my hair detangled, manageable, and shiny!

Overall System Perception

I would say I love the end-to-end system! Like everything, there is some room to improve in terms of the combinations I had used, but it left my hair feeling amazing after each wash, and I am here for it. Highly recommend step 1 and step 3 , they are clearly my favourites!

Would I Recommend K Formula?

Short answer: yes, I would. What sold me on this system wasn't just the science-y talk about peptides and keratin chains; it was that every step actually felt like it was doing its own job instead of repeating what the last one did. The corrector prepped, the shampoo cleansed without stripping, the conditioner brought the softness back, and the mask kept the whole thing going long after I'd left the bathroom.

For hair like mine, low porosity, wavy, and carrying a fair bit of damage, that kind of layered repair is exactly what's been missing from everything else I've tried this year.

I'm only a few washes in, so I'll be updating this post as I go along with longer-term results with the K Formula peptide haircare review, especially on the frizz and breakage front. Based on the season, go for a bold colour that suits it. Opt for a bright green or pink for spring, turquoise or orange for summer, and so and so forth. Or just opt for a red, like I did; it works for all seasons, honestly!

Boond Attar Review | Khus | Sandalwood

Internationally well-known perfumes are usually a mix of most parts alcohol or a base and a blend of essential oils. Even though we Indians have bought into those compositions and subscribed to the idea of fancy-looking bottles of perfumes, what we should not forget is our country's rich history when it comes to perfumes and fragrances. The numerous native ingredients of the country that make up a good percentage of western perfumes, like sandalwood, are a matter to take pride in.

And what better way to be proud of something than flaunting an Indian perfume oil? I was fascinated when I learned about attar, or as some people like to call it, Ittar/ittr. The production of which started in the northern frontier of India when the Mughals started using the deg bhapka method to extract rose and other floral and herbal oils from the native ingredients found in the country.

Kannauj became the capital of perfumery. And it still is. The perfumes made in the region get the GI tag to make sure the artistry is given the position it deserves on the world stage.

Staying in Bangalore, I was not able to get my hands on GI-tagged attars from Kannauj, so I started my search. That's when I came across Boond Fragrances, an Indian attar brand based in Kannauj, India, shipping across the globe.

I decided to give the perfume oils from them a try because of the claims the brand made and the features they had in leading publications.

The Ethos of Boond Fragrances was enticing to me. Sustainably made, sustainable packaging made locally, authentic methods used for creating the perfume oils, such as the aforementioned Deg Bhapka method and a mission to bring Indian perfumes to the world.

Now that I have introduced you to the brand, let me walk you through the review of the Boond Attars.

Two variants I have here are Sandali - The sandalwood attar, and Khusa - The vetiver attar and usually these are my favourite kinds of scents. Like I mentioned in the After Bath Oil review here, I do not prefer floral fragrances; I much prefer woody and earthy ones.

Hence, Sandalwood and Khus were my preferences as my first attars from Boond.
Let's go with the 3Ps - price , packaging, product experience

Price:

1549 INR for Sandalwood and 1499 INR for Khus for 3 ml of attar, here I have 6 ml bottles

Packaging:

This (packaging) is overall a very heartwarming aspect of the product. The packaging is made in-house by the Boond team of women and packed with lovely notes written on handmade paper.

The paper is made and printed in-house, and the care shows; the packages are all different for each variant. The packaging, however, doesn't talk about the GI Tag-related information.

The attars themselves are packed in glass bottles and are pretty tiny, which can be expected for 6 or 3 ml of product. The screw cap of the attars comes attached to a glass stick, which carries the essential oils/attars for you to be able to apply onto your skin.

The little tassels are a nice detail to denote the attars in the bottle based on the colours associated with the overall packaging.

Product:

Basically, the heart of it all is this, however much I like the packaging or not. The Attar itself is amazing, and now that I am writing this, I am remembering how much I have missed applying this over the last few weeks, as this is perfect for drier weather and I am in between the monsoons.
Why do I say this is better for drier weather? Just my experience. Attars are potent essential oils, and when the humidity is extreme and the temperatures are low, they tend not to perform as well. Another thing to think of why Attars are amazing in tropical climates is that it's mostly warm! Think about it.

The attar needs to be applied to your pulse points, just a little bit. And on warmer days, the fragrance starts to dissipate almost immediately and stays on for a good 4-6 hours. Since these are all single notes, there is no change in the fragrance; a subtle change may happen based on your body temp in the intensity of it throughout the day, but that's it.

I did not have any issues with the attars on my skin, but if you have sensitive skin, make sure to do a patch test, because there are highly concentrated oils, and it is perfectly fine to do a test for suitability for your skin.

Fragrances :

Sandalwood: A warm, woody, almost musky fragrance. Can be easily equated to freshly rubbed chandan stick on the stone. Just a few time multipied in intensity. I love how fresh it feels once the day goes by, in how it smells and feels. Gives an almost herbal note at the end of the day.

Khus: Not the right way to equate it, but I can say this is the mini version of a woody fragrance as compared to sandalwood. A fresh, almost woody petrichor fragrance that makes you feel like you're sitting in a field of grass cut a few hours back. I love how subtle yet strong this fragrance is.

Product Experience:

Overall, I loved the attars or ittra, however you'd like to call them. My personal favourite is the Khus attar. All in all, I would definitely recommend these attars. I am also looking to try their floral variants. Will keep you all updated here if I do end up trying.

We’ve all had those mornings where we stand in front of a full closet and still feel like we have nothing to wear. It might be to wear for a meal you plan to end up in a food coma over, or for a casual browse through the hottest flea market in town; the situation has to be considered, and we usually default to what we always wear.

Welcome to my basic styling series, where we take one part of an outfit and elevate the outfit by a notch for various occasions, always keeping the base as basic and comfy as possible!

So what about my default solution on days like that? A zero-stress, 2-minute outfit formula that looks completely put-together without feeling like you tried too hard.

The formula is simple: A textured/patterned top (a trendy one, if you have) + structured dark denim + relaxed, walking-friendly footwear.

Here is a breakdown of why this combo works every single time, plus a few tricks on styling it for low-key cafe dates and weekend strolls.

Let the Top Do the Heavy Lifting

When you’re working with a delicate pattern, like a soft cream short-sleeve button-down with subtle floral accents, like I am wearing here, you don’t need much else.

The pattern and texture add instant visual interest, meaning your accessories and makeup can stay completely minimal. I have opted for a layered top, which is also leaning towards a Chinese button top or Chinese mandarin collar top trend, so two ways to add interest to the top, yet keeping everything casual and comfortable.

Style Tip: Keep the top half feeling light and airy by leaving a couple of buttons undone at the neckline, or tucking just the front into your trousers to define your waist.

Style Tip: Opt for light layering of tops; Win-win if they are already layered tops (the millennials reading would know how much we love them), then nothing like it!

Balance Soft Patterns with Dark, Structured Pants

Pairing light, vintage-inspired florals with dark trousers or deep indigo denim creates the ultimate style contrast. The dark bottoms ground the feminine sweetness of the cream top, giving the overall look a cool, Downtown-chic edge.

I have worn the same top with black velvet trousers and indigo wide-leg denim on two occasions while eating out. Both are comfortable and ground the outfit, yet keep it chic.

Style Tip: Wide-leg or straight-leg cuts work best here. They keep the silhouette effortless and comfortable enough for sitting at diner booths or sipping coffee for hours. Remember! Comfort first always for all-day fits!

Tie It into Your Environment

Part of what makes an outfit feel "aesthetic" on camera is how it interacts with your surroundings. The warm cream tones of the shirt pop effortlessly against bold backgrounds, whether that’s a red leather diner booth or a checkered tile floor.

I knew what the place I was visiting looked like, so I did a bit of planning with the Asian-inspired top and the black-and-cream combo of the outfit.

Style Tip: Always do a bit of research on where you are visiting and what your outfit looks like against the place. It is very easy with a quick Google search these days, so spend that extra minute!

Style with Your Accessories

Lean into the colours of your top, or play around with the patterns to wear accessories that match or complement the outfit. Do not go overboard on this; keep this casual and light if you're not making accessories the star.

Style tip: Mix metals and various textures of accessories. I am wearing crochet and a gold-and-silver sleek watch and earrings, which helps bring a fun side to the outfit.
