Nagham El Hood is a platform for all alternative arabic artists who want their voice to be heard. This week, we are introducing a new Palestinian band from Jerusalem called El Container. Their music describes the reality of the Palestinian youth and the insecurity and internal chaos of every day life. The music is considered funny, sarcastic and sometimes angry or crazy. Another new artists to the show is Rechela. An american Khaleeji singer who dedicated last 10 years of her life learning Khaleeji - Gulf Emirates and Saudi Arabic, music and culture, she is now working on her new album in Dubai. In the next hour we will cover everything from the election results to some new music from artists such as Alaa Wardi and the brave Mashrou3 Leila. 
 
We honor the strong mothers in our lives with a classic mother’s day song by Ghawar a character from 1960s Syrian Television played by Doreid Laham also known as the “Ghandi of Arab Cinema”. His song Yamo talks of his appreciation for his mother and everything she had to put up with over the years which is very similar to the overall tone of many of the songs featured on todays show by artists such as Omar Offendum, Saz and Souad Massi. No matter when you celebrate mother’s day make sure to appreciate your Mama’s and wish them a very happy Mother’s day.
