Congratulations to the Newark Norsemen baseball team and coaches on capturing the Regional Championship! The Norsemen shut out Yorkville Christian, 4–0, to earn the title. With the victory, Newark advances to the Sectional Semifinals, where they will face Putnam County on Wednesday, June 3, at 4:30 p.m. in Granville. Go Norsemen!

Congratulations to the Lady Norsemen Softball team and coaches on capturing the Regional Championship! Newark earned a 20-4 victory over Earlville. Great job, and best of luck at Sectionals! The Softball Sectional Semifinal against Serena will be played on Wednesday, May 27, away at 5:00 PM in Shabbona at Indian Creek High School. Here is the GoFan Link for tickets. Congratulations to Cody Kulbartz who qualified for the state track meet in Discus yesterday at sectionals! Cody's best throw was 43.70 meters or 143 feet, 4 inches. The state track meet will take place next weekend at Eastern Illinois University. Good luck at state, Cody!

Update on Spring ACT Scores | Posted 5/13/26

ACT has informed us that they have discovered a need to reissue scores for students who took the online ACT test this spring during school-day testing. The score that you received in your MyACT account from the ACT you took at school on April 8, 2026 will be reissued. Schools across the state received this same information.
ACT stated that:
• Scores will be available again no later than June 2.
• Composite scores and section scores will remain the same OR go up slightly based on your individual performance. Your scores will NOT be lower than what was previously released.
• ACT will post revised scores to you and your parent or guardian via MyACT (if you have an account) and to your school.

Summer 2026 Driver Education is open! Students must be 15 by May 2nd. Classes run June 1–4 and June 8–11, 8 AM–12 PM. Fees: $150 in-district, $250 out-of-district. Attendance is required, plus 6 hours driving and observation. Limited spots—register by May 1!

Regular attendance is key to student success! Please keep these important reminders in mind:

Reporting an Absence – If your student will be out of school, contact Michelle Nuzzo in the main office by 10:00 AM at 815-695-5164 ext. 290.
Appointments – If your student is leaving school for an appointment, please have them bring a doctor’s note when they return.

If bad weather or other emergency occurs during the day, please listen to local media stations for possible early dismissal information. For your child's safety, make certain your child knows ahead of time where to go in case of an early dismissal.
