Nonprofit may manage Greensboro performing arts center

GREENSBORO — A community task force will consider recommending that a nonprofit cultural arts trust be created to operate a proposed downtown performing arts center.

Under a draft proposal explored Monday by a task force committee, the city would own the new venue, but would enter into a lease with the new cultural trust to operate it.

GREENSBORO — The former YWCA site is the best location for a proposed downtown performing arts center, a team of architects hired to create design concepts said today.

The New York architects showed designs and the site recommendation via a remote connection to a committee of the community task force studying the issue.
