They discussed their courting days leading up to their marriage, their struggles, challenges, and challenges for the church overall. They are providing a solution to the ills of marriage and are hosting a symposium the weekend of March 4-5th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Schaumburg, IL. Exploring marriage though the sacramental lens of social justice and the historical, cultural, and spiritual narrative of Black Folk.

Father Bryan Massingale received his doctorate in moral theology from the Academia Alphonsianum in Rome. He specializes in social ethics and teaches courses on Catholic Social Thought, African American religious ethics, liberation theologies, and racial justice. His approach to social ethics focuses upon the impact of religious faith as both an instrument of social injustice and a catalyst for social transformation. He is the author of Racial Justice and the Catholic Church, which received a First Place book award from the Catholic Press Association. Father Bryan gave a compelling call to action for Black Catholics today. Using the Conference theme “I Am Black, I Am Catholic, I Am here”.
