AOC sets the record straight on who she’s blocking on Twitter - and why. Of the more than 5.3 million Twitter followers Ocasio-Cortez has to her account, only 20 users have been blocked for what the first-year representative calls “ongoing harassment.” She also made it clear that none of the blocked users were her constituents, which addresses two of the main concerns lodged by the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University on Thursday.

Blocking people for simply saying something you don’t agree with is one thing, blocking them for threatening or violent language is another. It’s a difference Ocasio-Cortez was happy to distinguish between in her response to the organization. “People are free to speak whatever classist, racist, false, misogynistic, bigoted comments they’d like. They do not have the right to force others to endure their harassment and abuse,” she tweeted in a thread.

There is a post out on Facebook by The Wall Street Journal pointing to an report on how “millennial experts” aim to help companies stem turnover and ensure young employees’ happiness at work.. We do not want to engage much in that or voice our opinion…

However, very much worth to us to share is a comment by Chris Shaeffer. “As an employer I wish millenials would just do the following:

1. Be where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be there.
2. Get off their cell phones and get some work done.
3. Learn how to problem solve without having someone else hold their hand through the entire process.
4. Write in complete sentences with punctuation.
5. Lose the attitude.
6. Understand that nobody cares about their feelings if they cannot get their job done.”

Good comment Chris! Down to the point. Same experiences made here and reasoning - for time being - refusing to hire or working with “them”.

American singer Marc Anthony cursed against Donald Trump at a concert at Madison Square Garden on Saturday. What I want to say before I leave: “F*ck Donald Trump”, the singer said to a cheering audience. After several minutes of cheering, Anthony said: “I want him to hear this in his house. Wake that mother f*cker up”.

Anthony, born in New York City to parents from Yauco, Puerto Rico, has sold more than 12 million albums worldwide and is known for his Latin salsa and ballads.

Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are finally fighting shoulder-to-shoulder. It’s like we’re witnessing the dawn of the Justice League or something.

A soccer match in Hannover/Germany between the Netherlands and German national-teams that was meant to be a show of solidarity and freedom had to be canceled. Have the terrorists already won? Have they sown so much fear and mistrust that we are already in their grip?

The latest in a long series of stupid trademark bullying lawsuits comes to us courtesy of The Village Voice (who should know better than to file bogus lawsuits). The Voice is suing Yelp for trademark infringement. The Village Voice somehow convinced the USPTO that it deserved a trademark on the phrase “best of [place name]” for certain locations – such as “Best of Seattle” or “Best of San Francisco.” Yelp, quite reasonably, also uses the term of “best of” to describe certain places.

Village Voice is claiming that Yelp’s infringement is “willful” because it notified the company, and Yelp apparently told them to go away. It’s also ridiculously claiming that Yelp’s usage has “irreparably harmed” the company. I realize that’s standard language used in such lawsuits, but seriously?

The most important question: who is actually being deceived here? There is no confusion. No one associates “best of” with the Village Voice. Everyone reads it as a perfectly normal descriptive term, rather than a trademark belonging to any single party.

The testosterone-fueled sequel has actually been surprisingly successful with reviewers, who find the film to be an explosion-heavy late-summer diversion. The film currently has a 66 percent “fresh” rating on critical aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. Its score is better than that of recent blockbuster hopefuls like “Total Recall” and “The Bourne Legacy.”

For Entertainment Weekly’s Lisa Schwarzbaum: the film is a perfect distillation of the kind of brainless fun that Hollywood churns out every summer. It’s not going to win any awards, but it does dish out a healthy serving of violence and mayhem, along with the added pleasure of allowing audiences to assess its graying stars’ receding hairlines.
