Cannot Open EML file with Windows Live Mail

How to fix Windows Live Mail Won't Open Saved .eml Files in Windows.

EML files that are saved form of email received in Windows Live Mail. Many users getting error while opening eml files in their system. They can't open email after they are saved or windows live mail application open itself, but not showing the saved or opened eml file.

Fix "Cannot Open EML file in Windows"

Open Run command ( + R)

Type regedit and press enter
Goto : HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ and delete ".eml" folder.
Goto : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\ and delete ".eml" folder.
Restart Windows Explorer or PC.

Open EML file and choose windows live mail as default. Now you can open EML files with windows live mail.

Upgrade iBall Slide WQ32 to Windows 10 Home

Microsoft Windows made huge software update in history recently by making millions of PCs upgrading to Windows 10 operating system. While millions of computers were updating day by day. Some of us trying to update windows powered tablets like iBall slide WQ32, Dell Venue 8 Pro, and more.

Most difficult part for updating iBall WQ32 tablet is it's drive space in C drive or Windows installed drive because it's a 16 GB SSD and windows take most of the space after installing all updates to Windows 8.1.

For x86 Windows (32 bit) required only 16 GB of space but x64 (64 bit) requires minimum 20 GB as normal installation. For iBall WQ32 gets only around 9 GB with windows 8.1 pre-installed leaving 1 to 2 GB of free space in c drive.

Removing WQ32 Recovery drive for more space!

To delete the drive, you need to unlock or disable BitLocker using PIN, which can be found from Bitlocker settings in windows control panel.

After unlocking the drive, assign a letter to recovery drive using windows virtual disk service.

Go to Control Panel > Computer Management > Disk Management. Assign a Drive letter for the Recovery Drive. After assigning letter to the drive, you can easily access the drive in windows explorer and copy install.wim with USB drive and keep this install.wim to somewhere safe which contains windows OEM Key and Windows 8.1 with all proper drivers.

WQ32 Restoring from install.wim file

Required Installing tool from Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit
Copy install.wim to root of SD card and extracted ADK6x86 to SD card and copy DISM folder contents to where install.wim file is copied then insert into Tablet.
Turn on tablet and enter using another windows setup on UEFI bootable usb disk and select Repair your computer then choose Command Prompt
Type "Diskpart" at the command prompt, then press Enter
Type "list disk", then type, "select disk #" (# is disk number), then press Enter
Then type "clean", press enter
Then type, "create partition primary", then press enter
Then type "format fs=ntfs quick", press enter to format
Then type "active", press enter
Type "list volume", then type, "select volume #" (# is volume number), then press Enter
Then type "assign letter = C", press enter
Type "exit", press enter
Go to folder containing install.wim through command prompt
Type "imagex.exe /apply install.wim 1 X:/" (X is the drive letter, basically C:), Process will take up to 15 minutes
After successful copying, Type cd x86\BCDBoot, press enter
Type "bcdboot.exe x:\windows /s X: /f ALL" (x is windows drive C:)

Ignore any warnings and restart your tablet to get refreshed OEM Windows.

WQ32 Windows Installation

For Installing Windows 10 requires minimum free space of 5.43 GB on c drive for tablet PCs with 16 GB. In this case iBall WQ32 might have only 2 GB free space, to get more free space on C: drive, you can make backup of install.wim (Recovery Image) file to any where else safe and delete the recovery drive to gain more space in C drive.

Windows allows to use an external usb drive having minimum of 9 GB free space for installing Windows 10 at the time of installation begins.

Updating through windows update, C: drive requires the requested amount of free space, otherwise Windows 10 Upgrade will be failed during installation.

You can upgrade windows using Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, download and choose Upgrade this PC.

Possible Error while installing through Media creation tool is "Something Happened".

Solving "Something Happened" - Windows 10

Go to windows control panel
Open Region
Go to "Administrative" tab
Click on "Change system locale"
Select English (United States)
Click on "Copy Settings"
Check both check boxes "Welcome screen and system accounts" and "New user accounts"
Click OK.
Restart PC and try again.

iBall WQ32 will start to download (2.02 GB Windows optimized for Tablet Version) and starts Upgrading to Windows 10.

After Upgrade you can clear old windows from Disk Clean Up to get more free space, you can make free space upto 4 GB on windows 10.

After upgrading to windows 10, you will have to install 32-bit Inter HD graphics driver 15.33.38.4252 (10.18.10.4252).

How to fix or remove Locked file Main.lock by Skype

Now on internet everyone uses Skype for free calling Skype to Skype with internet enabled mobile phones, TV and other gadgets. Most of them use Skype in Microsoft Windows PC to call around the friends, colleagues, and for other work conferences. In some users experience some sign in trouble at the start up of windows for Skype. They always signed in their systems for easy usage and to save time for the sign in process.

In some cases, the users cannot sign in to their system as usual, when the user enter the log in details, the Skype throw out an exceptional error, like the user already logged in, but the user didn't logged in actually and cannot use the Skype. This issue can be solved if we could delete the main.lock file that is created by SQLite engine functions of Skype which are created temporarily.

If you open the folder with your Skype user name you will see several SQLite database files and some of them might have companion files associated with the ending –jornal and .lock. For example you may see main.db, main.db-journal and main.lock. All the “-journal” and .lock files are temporary and can be deleted. This file has to be deleted when the user quits Skype, due to some kind of program crash this file doesn't deletes itself.

Solution #1

The main.lock file can be found in C:\Users\{windowsusername}\AppData\Roaming\Skype\{skypeusername}\main.lock file having 0 bytes.

For easy access to the User Application data folder, type %appdata% in windows run menu box or in the windows search box in start menu.

Sometimes this file is locked by Skype and it cannot be deleted. If this file is not deleted, you cannot log in to the Skype even we re-install the Skype several times.

And for Windows XP C:\documents and settings\{user}\Application data\Skype\{skypeusername} folder.
To delete this file, you need quit or end all process of Skype, then try delete main.lock file and other 0 bytes file will clear the issue and user can log in as usual.

In some cases these temporarily created files get locked or its index got corrupted or unreadable for the system. In those case it is required to do disk check and try to remove the file. If still fails to delete the main.lock file the hard disk index is corrupted and then you might need to format to fix and happens only rare cases.

Solution #2

To fix this severe issue of Skype log in failure, we cannot fix until the disk formatting to remove the main.lock file. So I had found another simple method to recover the Skype files without deleting or formating.

Simply rename the Skype folder from the windows Applications data folder to any other name as you like (xskypeusername), before renaming the folder you should quit or end all process of Skype, make sure that Skype or its instance are not running, if any instance is running we cannot rename the folder as it is locked by Skype application.

After renaming the folder, just run the Skype program to work as usual, and log in with Skype username and password. After that you can copy the history files from the old renamed folder to newly created Skype user name folder, it will work properly.

Developers Want Android 4.0 'Ice Cream'

That was the Monday buzz at San Francisco's Moscone Center, anyway, where Google I/O attendees were lined up to register in advance for Tuesday's big event—and perhaps catch a sneak peak of the latest version of the Android mobile operating system.

Google's rapid-fire development cycle for the OS that runs an increasing number of smartphones, media tablets and other mobile devices has apparently given its developer ecosystem a sweet tooth.

One app developer told that Google TV and the next edition of Android were easily the most intriguing stories to follow at the company's annual developer conference.

Ice Cream, the codename for the version of Android that Google will reportedly launch soon, is expected to combine features from the Android "Honeycomb" OS for tablets and the "Gingerbread" platform for smartphones to create a confection that the search giant's ecosystem hopes will deliver the best of both.

The next version of Android, which has been called both "Ice Cream" and "Ice Cream Sandwich," will bring together the phone and tablet versions of the OS, Google executives said at the Mobile World Congress in February.

"The two of them—notice that one starts with a 'G' and the next one starts with an 'H.' You can imagine the follow-on will start with an 'I' and it will be named after a dessert and it will combine capabilities of both the Gingerbread and the Honeycomb release," Google's then-CEO Eric Schmidt said at the time.

Most observers interpret that to mean that whatever Ice Cream winds up being, it will likely add Honeycomb's robustness and some features of its UI to the Android smartphone OS. Google Android engineering director Dave Burke said at MWC that the next Android release for phones will share Honeycomb's visual cues, its app switcher, and its contextual "action bar."

But it remains to be seen how Google would bridge a hardware-requirement gap between its open-source mobile OS platforms for tablets and smartphones. Open regedit, Press Windows+R, Type regedit + enter key.

Navigate to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList]

You will probably want to right-click on “ProfileList” and click export to save the entire subtree in case something goes wrong as Backup.

You will find several subfolders or “keys” named something like “S-1-x-xx…”, open them one at the time

Each should contain at least the three value-sets, “Flags”, “ProfileImagePath” and “State”, some will contain more

Look at the end of ProfileImagePath for the name of the user represented by the key

You will usually have one for each user on the system, and one for each of the three system entries ‘systemprofile’, ‘LocalService’ and ’NetworkService’

Delete any key (i.e. the whole “S-1-x-xx” folder) that does not contain at least those three values

Delete the Last Folder, which not having Registered user Names or the system Services.

It will restore Windows Logon to normal.

Open the Start Menu, go to All Programs - Accessories , right-click Command Prompt , and select Run as Administrator.

Then type the following command without quotes:

"regsvr32.exe jscript.dll"

and press Enter.

Also type the following command, and press Enter again:

"regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll"

Then open Windows Media Player.
