Kirik literally means: a puppy. She is a small puppy found roaming around the neighborhood that became a "part-time" resident of Pet Shelter. She is a skinny and "jumpy" puppy, as she may have been mistreated in the past. She comes to Pet Shelter regularly to enjoy good food that is served in the facility.

Cougar

Cougar is a "part-time" resident of pet shelter. He enjoys the food served in Pet Shelter, but likes to roam in a larger home range. He first came to Pet Shelter looking for Sweetie, in fact he is the father of the kittens inside Sweetie's belly. He was co named due to his "fierce" appearance reminiscent of a cougar (mountain lion). Apart from scratch and bruise marks due to fighting, he is in perfectly good health.

Blang

Blang is the second resident of pet shelter after Sweetie. He was found as a small, dirty, and skinny kitten roaming in a local kindergarten. Luckily, he did not have any medical problem and immediately recovered as he was fed with good quality food and milk. Right now he still enjoys pet food for kitten and suckling on Sweetie's nipples.

Trimix and Spotty

Trimix (left) and Spotty (right) are the latest residents of Pet Shelter. They were left in front of the facility by some kids who found them on the street. They were about just a few day-old, skinny, and shivering due to cold, while Trimix had an eye infection.

They were immediately treated with oral administration of milk and some vitamins (B complex), while Trimix's eyes were treated with garamycin salve. They were put in a home-made incubator to keep them warm and save.

They are now two healthy playful kittens with good appetite as well as good reflexes....:)

Sweetie

Sweetie is the oldest resident of Pet Shelter, she came in six months ago when she was still around three month-old limping because her left front leg was injured.

She was taken to a local clinic (for human, as there is no animal clinic around) to get an x-ray to see if anything was broken. Fortunately there was no broken bone, but since she was still in a lot of pain, she was taken to a veterinarian to get her legs operated. Incision was made to let the pus flow out of her swollen limb and antibiotic was administered to ensure there is no consequent infection. She received antibiotic treatment (topically) until her wound was completely healed.

She is still limping a little, but she is now expecting the birth of her first newborns.

Animals in Dire Needs!

It is surprising to notice that there are many cats and dogs without owners/homes that live on the streets. They feed on whatever they can found in trash cans and dumpsters; thus resulting in malnutrition and health problems. These animals were mostly pets whose owners decided not to take care of them for variety of reasons, event some "runts" that do not get the parental care they need. Some came to the facility wounded, cold, starving, or they were just left in front of our home by some people who found them on the street. This was the reason our pet shelter was set up half a year ago.

Operating Cost of Pet Shelter

With current animal capacity for up to ten animals (cats and dogs) in our home facility, we need around 750 USD every month to ensure that the animals get the nutrition and care they need. Not to mention the service of a veterinarian to ensure that they are always in good health. The cost breakdown is as follows:
