What do you want from us, it's September. Come back next week for some horror commentary (and Con stuff) next week. As for this week, it's Dredd, Looper and The Master. Also, warning the opening song is realllly loud. (It's Master of Puppets...cuz they yell Master repeatedly? Nothing? Well I thought it was funny).
Sorry about last week, the universe prevented me from uploading a podcast.

Anyway, this week we have a slightly odd discussion about the connection between the excellent manga/anime Akira and the (also excellent, but not as excellent) movie from this year Chronicle. We also discuss the idea of an Akira remake and...some other stuff. Enjoy.

Also, no opening music this week. Just couldn't think of anything I liked enough, so said 'sod it.'
We're back, Todd is still with us and we have a slightly more original subject this time. I've just recently seen Cosmopolis (as you might know) and since Todd is our resident Cronenberg expert, we thought we'd do an episode devoted to a retrospective of his very strange, very excellent career.

Episode 4: Cronenberg Retrospective

Sidebar, the audio skips very briefly at about 28 minutes in. I don't know what caused it, but I don't think it's an issue, but if it is, let me know.

So this week (and for the next couple weeks) Todd is with us and we decided to do something no one has ever done before: A summer wrap up Podcast. I think it's a good podcast though, and if nothing else I still think we're funny. So, enjoy until we get something more original next week.
Here is the second episode of Pop Culture Whores, proving once again that I dissuaded from bad ideas. It's me and Liz's review of Premium Rush (Todd couldn't be with us this week).

Episode 2: Premium Rush

In addition, we also recorded a little ditty (read: 52 minutes of bitching) about the internet's favorite punching bag, Twilight. I was intending to release it as it's own episode, but then I thought: Man, Twilight has been done to death. So why not just do it and release it as a bonus episode. That way we're not wasting anyone's time. Also, Todd calls in by phone and some of what he said is hard to hear. But what do you want, it's a bonus episode.

Well, at long last, I've managed to make it work: Our podcast should be up and running in a few minutes (if it isn't...well I fucked up again). For those of you wondering what this blog is and how it's related to anything, this is the blog for my new podcast, Pop Culture Whores. Every week or so me and my friend Liz (and occasionally her boyfriend Todd of Heckling From The Third Row fame) will get together and discuss...whatever we feel like, frankly. We have a tendency to ramble and get off topic, and we curse regularly, but I hope we make a good listen.
