Donovan (15-2, 11 KOs) dropped Chukhadzhian (26-4, 14 KOs) in the sixth and eighth rounds and emerged victorious by scores of 115-113, 114-112, overruling a drawn scorecard of 113-113.

Donovan, coming off the back of two straight losses to Lewis Crocker, opted to box on the backfoot from the outset and landed a couple of accurate body shots in the opening round.

Chukhadzhian, unbeaten in two since a second defeat to Jaron Ennis, replied with some meaty shots of his own in the second, a left hand catching Donovan’s attention.

‘The Real Deal’ stumbled the Ukrainian back with a left hand at the end of the third, but the 30-year-old continued to march forward in the fourth, a right hand at the end of the round the best of his work.

Donovan found the breakthrough in the sixth round, countering his foe with a hard left hand.

Chukhadzhian made it to his feet, appearing more frustrated than hurt.

The Ukrainian was down again and counted in the eighth, this time from a right hand, although he protested it was due to a push.

The pair continued to trade in a frantic ninth, with the Irishman connecting with a pinpoint uppercut which gained a nod of approval from Chukhadzhian.

Chukhadzhian traded with Donovan in close quarters in the final three rounds, with both men landing some solid combinations.

With Donovan fading and forced to engage, the Ukrainian got the best of an enthralling final round.

A first scorecard of 115-113 in Donovan’s favour was met with a 113-113 card.

A third scorecard of 114-112 ensured the Irishman left Germany victorious and sparked wild celebrations in the ring, including from promoter Eddie Hearn.

Donovan, who was beaten by Crocker in September, called out the Belfast man for a trilogy post-fight.

Crocker first defends his title against Liam Paro on June 24 in Australia.

Odiase KO’s Webb

Emanuel Odiase won the vacant IBF European heavyweight title with a second round knockout of Nick Webb.

After a close first round, Odiase (11-0, 9 KOs) unloaded on Webb (19-4, 15 KOs) and a two-punch assault had him on the deck, with the Brit failing to beat the count.

Kadiru sees off Gashi

In a lacklustre heavyweight affair Peter Kadiru outpointed veteran Senad Gashi (34-5, 32 KOs).

Scores of 96-94, 98-92 and 97-93 saw Kadiru (23-1, 13 KOs) emerge victorious.

Cameroonian heavyweight Nelvie Tiafack (4-0, 3 KOs) remained unbeaten, going the distance for the first time in his career in a unanimous decision win over Mateus Munhoz Da Penha (7-3-2, 3 KOs).

The 34-year-old is a significant underdog with the bookmakers, but vowed to cause a major upset.

The Croatian, who has won twice since a sole professional defeat to Daniel Dubois, said Allen’s partisan crowd won’t help him when they clash for the IBF Intercontinental title.

“We’ll see tomorrow,” the 33-year-old said.

“I trained hard. I can’t wait.

“It’s only me and him in the ring. It’s not going to help him [the home support].”

‘The Businessman’ was making waves after claiming the WBO lightweight title, but his progress was curtailed after missing weight in a scheduled first defence against Edwin De Los Santos.

The 27-year-old lost his belt on the scales and his bout with De Los Santos was shelved.

The home favourite returned after an almost year lay-off with a final round stoppage over Jamaine Ortiz in his super lightweight debut in January.

Albright (17-2-1, 7 KOs) is 1-1 since his first outing with Davis, securing an upset win over Keyshawn’s older brother, Kelvin before being held to a draw with Frank Martin in February.

The 30-year-old was involved in an apparent altercation with Davis after his victory over his brother last June.

Prediction: Davis looked impressive against Ortiz and will be motivated to put the demons of the first bout behind him. I expect Davis to become the first man to stop Albright.

Former welterweight world champion, Brian Norman Jr looks to get back to winning ways when he faces Josh Wagner.

Norman Jr (28-1, 22 KOs) dropped his WBO belt in a comprehensive unanimous decision loss to Devin Haney in November and has since changed his training set-up joining world-renowned coach, Ronnie Shields.

Wardley lost his WBO heavyweight world title in a dramatic 11th round stoppage loss to Dubois in Manchester last Saturday.

The 31-year-old dropped the Londoner in the first and third rounds, but was outgunned by Dubois in a fight of the year contender.

The Ipswich man has opted to active his rematch clause and his promoter Queensberry confirmed the second bout will take place later this year in a statement on X on Friday.

“Queensberry can confirm that Fabio Wardley has activated the rematch clause following his defeat in last week’s WBO world title fight against Daniel Dubois at the Co-op Live in Manchester.

“All parties will now work towards a rematch of their fight of the year contender for later in 2026.”

Dubois became a two-time heavyweight world champion, having previously held the IBF crown.

The 28-year-old lost his IBF belt in a fifth round stoppage loss to Oleksandr Usyk last August.

“I thank Fabio for a great fight,” Dubois said post-fight.

“It was an honour to be in the ring with him.

Wardley congratulated his rival in a statement on Sunday.

“My body failed me, but not my heart,” he posted on X.

“And that I can live with.

The Croatian beat David Adeleye on a wide scorecard, though he did face some adversity in the eighth round when the Brit responded well after being dropped himself earlier in the round.

During the period Hrgovic hasn’t fought, Allen has fought twice, the first in October when he took on Tyson Fury’s last opponent, Arslanbek Makhmudov, at Sheffield Arena.

‘The White Rhino’ was outpointed over 12 rounds, with the three judges scoring it 109-117, 110-116 and 111-115.

Allen returned four months later when he took on French heavyweight Karim Berredjem, who he made light work of, stopping his man with a minute remaining of the first round.

Allen spoke to Pro Boxing Fans after the pair faced off for the first time during fight week and admitted he is the underdog, yet relishes the opportunity.

“I can’t sit here and say that I am going to beat him but I know I can compete with him.

“You never know really because you can have one night, all I need is one night, like that Lucas Browne left uppercut to the body that’ll finish him.

“Or [when he won against] Nick Webb, if I hit him either of them it’s game over.

“So I go into it with a bit of confidence, more confidence than I have ever had before.”

Prediction: Hrgovic will have to be at his best to ensure he isn’t dragged into deep waters, similarly to the eighth round against Adeleye, but should have enough to pick up a points win over the tough Allen.

Michael Gomez Jr vs Lee McGregor

Gomez Jr is wasting no time returning to the ring. Just 46 days on from his statement win over Jordan Flynn, he is back in action against the tough Lee McGregor.

He stopped Flynn in the third round of their fight, with the 30-year-old claiming he had suffered a broken jaw.

That marked Gomez Jr’s first outing since being stopped by Reece Belotti in February last year.

He will hope to build on his most recent win against McGregor, who has also fought just once since losing last year.

McGregor most recently won a points decision over Emiliano Leonel Araujo in his first outing since being stopped by Nathaniel Collins.

Prediction: Gomez Jr should have enough to grind out a points win over 10 rounds.

Prediction: In what is a genuine 50-50 fight, O’Doherty may just edge a points decision.

However, Joshua, who hasn’t fought since knocking out Jake Paul in December, opted to face Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Riyadh and will then face Tyson Fury in November, providing he’s victorious.

Paul suffered a broken jaw in his sixth round knockout loss to former two-time heavyweight world champion, Joshua in December.

‘The Problem Child’ has had two surgeries on his jaw since and has now revealed his fighting future hinges on further scans this week.

“I’m getting some new scans here in a couple of days of the jaw,” the 29-year-old said on The Ariel Helwani Show.

“To get an update on the healing process.

“We’ll see what my doctors say.

“I think I’ll be able to get a more accurate timeframe or can I even fight again? That is definitely in the realm of possibilities.

“It does feel a lot better as weeks go by and time goes by, but I definitely need to get cleared first to be able to spar.

“Yeah most definitely [my fighting future is in doubt].

“I think it depends on how the bone heels.”

Paul suffered the second defeat of his 14-fight professional career against Joshua and the first since a split decision loss to Tommy Fury in 2023.

The controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer banked a reported £70m for his bout with ‘AJ’, but despite a career-high payday, the American admits he wants to continue fighting.

“I’m not done,” he added.

“I can just feel it in my spirit, in my soul, in my heart that I have more fights left and unfinished business in my mind.

Dubois pummelled Wardley into an 11th round stoppage to capture the WBO heavyweight world title in Manchester on Saturday.

Wardley, who dropped his rival in the first and third rounds respectively, took severe punishment from the fourth round onwards and many have questioned why Davison and head trainer Rob Hodgkins didn’t throw in the towel.

Davison concedes the 31-year-old could have been withdrawn earlier, but insists he was left in a conundrum with the Ipswich man continuing to fire back.

“Firstly, congratulations to Dubois,” Davison posted on Instagram on Sunday.

“Two tremendous warriors in a modern-day classic.

“We are super proud of Fabio.

“I actually agree the fight could have been stopped earlier.

“I did not see Fabio stumble before walking over to the doctor at the start of round 10, as ironically we was discussing with each other to ‘have the towel in hand’, by which time he had gone over and seen the doctor and seemed much steadier on his legs, which is what we saw.

“It’s such a difficult job to not only find a balance, but to strike at the right time to stop a fight like that on a whim when your guy is responsive and firing back.

”Two occasions we looked at it, but 1. the end of the round came, 2. Fabio fired back and killed Dubois momentum.”

Wardley lost his unbeaten record and WBO crown in his maiden title defence after being elevated from interim titlist to full champion in November.

Dubois became a two-time heavyweight world champion and returned to winning ways after losing his IBF belt to Oleksandr Usyk in five rounds last August.

Frank Warren, who promotes both fighters, confirmed that Wardley has the option to invoke his rematch clause.

The now-former champion broke his silence on social media on Sunday.

“My body failed me, but not my heart,” the 31-year-old posted on X.

Wardley lost his WBO heavyweight world title and unbeaten record in a dramatic 11th round loss to Dubois at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester.

The Ipswich man released a statement on Sunday on his social media congratulating his rival, who was crowned a two-time heavyweight world champion.

“My body failed me, but not my heart,” the 31-year-old posted on X.

“And that I can live with.

“Congratulations @DynamiteDubois, thank you for a great fight worthy of the history books.

“Thank you to the city of Manchester and everyone that has been along on this journey with me. #TeamWardley.”

Wardley, who was the betting favourite heading into the clash, appeared on the verge of an early stoppage win after dropping his rival within the opening 10 seconds.

Dubois recovered but was staring defeat in the face again in the third round after crashing to the canvas from another right hand.

However, the 28-year-old rallied superbly and overwhelmed the champion with his volume and accuracy, before referee Howard Foster eventually called the fight off in the 11th round.

“It was a war,” Dubois said post-fight.

“Thank you Fabio for that.

“I know I’ve got heart, bundles of heart.

“I’m a warrior in there.”

Dubois has been linked with a showdown against Queensberry stablemate and WBO number one contender, Moses Itauma who was watching on from ringside.

Itauma, who is undefeated in 14 professional bouts, will return on August 8 at the O2 Arena, although it’s unlikely to be against the newly-crowned WBO titlist.
