RSVP Here for Sunday’s Town Hall

Polls indicate a growing blue wave and a MAGA wipeout. But we’ve got to be one day stronger, one day longer! Join us this Sunday for the Progressive Town Hall.  RSVP here.

Our featured guests include Patty Garcia, who is likely to replace retiring progressive icon Rep. Chuy Garcia (no relation) in the next Congress. And Alissa Ellman, who is running a fierce grassroots campaign in rural, upstate New York.

We gather every Sunday for a reason. We’ve been doing for over five years now, and it’s important that progressives have a place to assemble every week to debrief, talk strategy, and gain strength for the road ahead.

It’s looking like the temporary end of MAGA–but we’ve got to organize so that progressive populism will ensure that we spend the next decade implementing transformative progressive legislation to make this economy work for everyday Americans and not just the billionaires.

With hope and solidarity,

Alan Minsky and the PDA National Team

Our featured guests are Connie Chan, the San Francisco progressive taking on billionaire-backed Scott Wiener for Congress in what was Nancy Pelosi’s district, and Senator Nina Turner, the legendary progressive leader.

RSVP here.

Here is what they are saying about our featured guests.

Connie Chan for Congress:

Endorsement from the SF Bay Guardian: This race is about as clear and as important as we can imagine. Do you want the next member of Congress, with all the money and power that position brings, to be the ally of Big Tech and Big Real Estate, or the ally of labor?

Rep. Pramila Jayapal Endorsement of Chan: Connie Chan is the kind of progressive fighter we need in Congress: she stands with working families, takes on corporate power, and knows that health care is a right, not a privilege.

Jayapal said in a statement to Gazetteer SF. “I know she’ll fight relentlessly to pass Medicare for All and put patients over profits.”

New York Times on Nancy Pelosi Support: [Pelosi] listed several reasons for her involvement: Ms. Chan is a woman at a time when women are losing political power. The two have long ties to the city’s powerful labor unions. Ms. Chan performed well as the chairwoman of the board’s budget committee. And Ms. Chan worked hard to help pass Proposition 50, the 2025 ballot measure that gerrymandered California’s congressional map to the benefit of Democrats in response to a similar move in Texas that aided Republicans.

Senator Nina Turner:

From the LA Progressive: At the fourth annual Left Coast Forum, held October 2–4 at California State University, Los Angeles, former Ohio State Senator Nina Turner delivered an impassioned keynote that challenged progressive activists to rethink how they approach racial justice, economic inequality, and political power.

Her central message was unmistakable: The progressive movement cannot achieve economic justice without confronting racial inequality, and it cannot transform American society without learning how to organize and exercise political power.

From Turner’s Interview on the Breakfast Club:There was a Rand study done and it basically surmised that if inflation, if people’s assets, if what they could have kept up from a nineteen seventy five standpoint in today’s dollars, that the average family of four would have a million dollars worth of assets. Now we know that if you’re black, it might not quite be a million. I’m going to tell the truth about that.

However, we do have class warfare,
and the people in the upper classes are winning. Warren Buffett has a quote where he says, my class is winning, and he’s never lied.

The billionaire class is winning. And it’s not just that. Working class people don’t have
a hatred of people who have a lot of money.
But what they don’t like is when they can’t go
to the store and buy food, or they can’t pay
for their rent or their mortgage, or they can’t get
a certified used vehicle every now and then, there’s something criminal and immoral about that.
