A simple video tutorial showing you how to set up a classic server using the software called Mcstorm, which is based off of Mclawl. Download the software at: http://mcstorm.com/

Installing the Mysql is not required to run a McStorm server, but is necessary if at anytime in-game you want to use portals, zoning, and the /about command; An extremely useful tool to stop griefers.

NOTE* As of 7/25/11 you may be prompted to download an additional meebey file. This is crucial to running Mcstorm but your antivirus may flag it as unsafe (don't worry, it really is safe.)

Mysql link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/miniserver/files/MiniServer/
From there you select MiniServer_ MySQL 5.0.67 Portable
Then download the .zip

BE AWARE* If you are having issues setting up MySql, it may be the fact that you're using Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0. Uninstall and replace it with .Net Framework 3.5, and you may or may not have better luck.

The Mysql set up shown in this video is not the usual Mysql installation everyone else uses. It is an alternate portal method (offered by Mclawl) that works just as well and does not require you to install anything.

Want to see how Mcstorm runs? Visit the official Mcstorm Server list at: http://www.mcstorm.com/servers/

If you need any additional help, I can virtually do it for you (via Teamviewer) email me at: zhejay@hotmail.com

-----------------------------------
Song 1: Bullet - Multifaros
Song 2: Glad I'm happy - Multifaros
Song 3: Life - Multifaros

I made this presentation for a client. It is twenty-seven minutes long, and is unlike any of the other videos I have posted prior to this date; it will hold little interest for most people. The video posted as a response shows how to download a higher-quality version.
Somewhere after minute 16, the narration gets scratchy for a few seconds. I hope to fix that, but since I haven't already, it probably won't be fixed.
