Was hoping this fruit fly trap was a cheaper alternative to the much more expensive trap sold by Gardener's Supply Company. Cheaper is all I got...requires you to add water. Yes, the trap worked for a couple (3) weeks, but the trap itself started smell'n funky, so in the trash it went. Stink is not a problem with the more expensive "dry" type, lasts for 1 month, but mine worked for 2 months or more.

If you are reading this, odds are your GE Profile fridge is quite warm on a Sunday night. You are desperately trying to figure out what's wrong. This board may solve your problems. It is a recalled part so you may be able to get it from GE for free. After what we went through, I hope amazon leaves this review up as a service to their customers. In return, the customers can spend their money on other amazon items.

The problem was as follows. We have a GE Profile fridge, Model PSC23NGSA (from 2005) with the vertical side by side doors. (I think these are called "French doors".) Neither the fridge or the freezer was staying cool. The fridge was making a clicking
sound. Opening the doors, the display on the front was flashing "HRS".

We did some basic troubleshooting. Put the food into coolers to try and save it as well as clear the vents. We unplugged and plugged the fridge back in. We made sure it was not in demo mode. The thermostat had been replaced in the past so that rules that out.

Doing some web searches showed that this has happened to others as well. The original board was recalled by GE on November 7, 2006. There was a letter that was sent out to technicians about this but not to customers. We called GE at 18003861215, option 3. We stated what the refrigerator was doing. We brought up the recall and stated we wanted this part.

Initially, GE was going to ship the part out in 3-5 days. My wife ordered them to overnight it. With President's Day, we got it the following day due to the post office.

Installing it was fairly straightforward for me. Below are the steps I used. Your experience may be different.

Tools required: socket wrench, SAE socket set, needle nose pliers, light

Steps:
Unplug fridge from wall outlet
Move it to where you can get at cover plate
Remove cover plate using the socket wrench
Make a diagram or take pictures of which connectors went to what locations on the board
Unplug connectors. You may have to use the pliers.
Remove old board. It rests on these plastic standoffs
Put in new board
Plug in connectors into new board.
Move fridge back in to place
Plug into wall outlet

I found a parts diagram online. If you've ever swapped a motherboard in a computer, you can definitely do this. The instructions will walk you through it. If you have the model with the freezer on the bottom, one would cut some wires before installing. The instructions go over that as well. After you are done installing the board, it will take about 2 to 3 hours to get back cool. This even in an empty fridge.

I've had it installed for just over a week now. The fridge is back in service. My wife says the freezer seems to be colder. Overall, frustrating, but resolved now. Hopefully this will help someone else out there.

My 2 year old bottom freezer refrigerator started to have the classic symptoms, not always cooling, one second clicking sound when not cooling. Some times the refrigerator cooled but not the freezer part. Sometimes neither part cooled while the fridge started to click. (Clicking is from relay noise).

I ordered this universal board for my fridge from Amazon.com. I took advantage of the FREE shipping. It arrived quickly in a timely fashion. It was a sealed GE factory board and not a brand X board. First class! The board came with clear instructions to be used for your particular refrigerator.

In my case, I removed the small rear panel on the back side of the fridge to expose the board. You then unplug the fridge, pull out the connector plugs from the board, remove the ground wire under a screw, remove the board off of 4 plastic standoff spacers, install the new board onto the spacers and then plug in all the wire connectors onto the new board. My new board had many more parts on it then the old board. You cannot plug the wrong connector into a wrong socket. Each connector has a different number of pins on it so any one plug will fit into only one socket.

In some cases a wire needs to be cut on one of the plugs per the instructions, but for my model this was not neccessary. Also, for BOTTOM FREEZER refridgerators, you need to take the lower panel off exposing the compressor and check if you have a start capacitor on your fridge. (The diagram shows you where the start capacitor would be located if you have one). If you have one, you need to cut a ground wire off a plug. In my case no wire needed to be cut as I had no start capacitor on my fridge. In short all I had to do was to swap out boards on the fridge and then put the panels back in place with screws.

For tools I needed a Phillips screw driver, but to remove the old board a pair of needle nose plyers helped removing the old board off the stand off legs as they needed to be squeezed before the board could be lifted off the standoffs one at a time. There are 4 plastic standoff legs holding the board in place. I didn't need to cut any wires but if you did need to cut one or two a small wire cutter would be handy. Otherwise a pocket knife would do the job.

If you follow the clear instructions you won't make a mistake. In my case I could replace the board again now that I did it once in less then 5 minutes. Doing it the first time, so you don't mistake, should take you no more the 15 to 20 minutes being very careful.

One last thing, THE BOARD FIXED THE REFRIGERATOR! (Please understand after reoplacing the board and turning the fridge on again, once plugging it back into the wall, will require hours of operation before the fridge and freezer are cold enough to turn the compressor off. In my case, with an empty fridge, I got tired of waiting to see if it would turn off after three hours of operation watching it. When I checked the next day, it was cold and not running. Everything was working just fine. It took a long time before it shut off even when the fridge was empty. (So be patient).

You can do the repair yourself and save a lot of money! The part from Amazon cost about half the list price of the board, no tax, and I also saved the cost of the repairman's labor. In my case I had actually called a repairman, two weeks later he had the board but never showed up on his appointment. I fired him and did the job myself quicker and for less money.

The Educo Whip-It-Up Mixer is sturdy and painted bright, bold colors. I love that it's also wooden and built really well. My 3yo loves to mix up stuff just like Mommy. The whisk lifts and spins; the speed knob turns. The only caveat I have is that the bowl does not actually stay put. A simple fix would be for Educo to have a small well in the bottom to hold the bowl better. While this bothers me a bit, my son does not mind at all. His favorite thing to mix is marbles.

We purchased this item for Christmas. It is now July and our children have played with this many times and it is in perfect condition. We have a 3 year old daughter and a 2 year old son. Our son is not as gentle as our daughter, but this has easily held up to both of their play styles. Our daughter enjoys pretending to work in the kitchen just like mommy and daddy and she likes the turn handle that rotates the whisk. The whisk lifts and the bowl is easily removed in both positions. We also purchased the matching coffee maker and have been very happy with both items.

Well made with good sturdy plastic. I gave 4/5 because the expanders are held by tabs that snap into holes. They tend to slip out if you pick it up by the middle, but as long as it is in a drawer, it won't matter too much. If they could connect the expanders in more secure way, then I would have given 5/5.

I ordered two of these. Both came with defects - one had a corner snapped off. On the other one the plastic had a big open crack by the little pegs that hold the 3 parts together. The broken pieces were inside the sealed plastic bags. The package itself was well padded with the little air pillows and the box was undamaged, so they probably were broken before shipping.

I decided to keep them anyway, as they are great organizers. I'm now able to use the entire 21" width of my drawers. The sections are fine, even for my oversized flatware. They look great in the drawer, too. No longer do my large pieces have to slide around on the drawer bottom - they are contained in the large side pieces.

85 Fiero GT Phantom wipe with ignition to on. Replaced wiper switch also with 87-88 (clickable stops). Further troubleshooting with just pwr and grd to module energizes relay R1. No switch input, No low input, No outputs R1 should not energize. Suspect bad electrolic capacitors. I do not know how long it has been on shelf. Or how it was stored. So they could have dried out. I will change caps on this board also and see if it helps. There is also no manufacture date on module. Physically it looks like it has lighter components. R1 is definately of the newer module type. I wish Dorman would put the schematic with the module. Would make it much easier to troubleshoot when an old analog circut is failing when its supposed to be new.

I was given this set a year and a half ago and so far have had to send back three pieces because of the nonstick finish. I will say I like cooking with the anodized - it heats faster and retains heat well so it is easier to cook with. But the nonstick finish they put on this cookware is terrible. It flakes off and scratches easily. I baby them, follow all directions, etc. only use silicone or wood utensils. In my opinion the surface should not scratch if you are using an approved utensil. Calphalon has been good about honoring their warranty and have replaced everything I sent back so far but I am getting tired of having to keep sending things back. As money permits I am gradually replacing mine with Le Creuset. I don't know if the higher end Calphalon is better, but I can't bring myself to spend the money on it with the experience I've had with this set.

We have been using these approximately six months now, so I thought it was time for a review. I cook pretty much every day, so this set has received a lot of use. So far, it's holding up nicely. I did go and buy a few special silicone-coated utensils to use (silicone-coated whisk, silicone-tipped tongs, a silicone turner, and a silicone-coated ladle) for when I would really be "getting down in there" and scraping against the pan pretty hard. If I am just stirring some vegetables or something, I use a wooden or nylon utensils, no problems so far. The only pan that has shown any wear on the nonstick surface is the frying pan, which my husband uses pretty much every day to fry bacon and cook eggs, and I think he doesn't always use the silicone stuff but just grabs whatever is handy. We don't put them in the dishwasher, but it's honestly not that big of a deal...I rarely use more than two pots and pans at a time (occassionally three), and I would think unless you're a gourmet chef, you wouldn't, either. I have also put a couple of them in the oven, although not at 400 degrees yet, which is their top rating, but haven't had any issues with the handles bubbling or anything like that (which was my main concern). They hold heat very well, so when I first got them I had to adjust to cooking stuff on medium-high heat vs. high, which tended to make the pots too hot and burn stuff. All in all, we're satisfied. There are nicer pans out there, I'm sure, but they also cost 0 and up for a comparable set. I would recommend this set over a stainless steel set because you don't have to add fat to cook stuff with these, which is a major selling point for me. Just take care of them and they should last for many years!

i registered for these after reading reviews (everywhere but amazon or i would have thought twice) and seeing them at bed bath and beyond. i liked that they were not too heavy, nonstick, hard anodized and i thought the calphalon name was a good one. i got the set and 3 pieces had already been slightly damaged due to the packaging rubbing too hard against the non stick surface. i didn't think it looked too bad though and decided to keep them. storage was a whole other problem. i don't have a pot rack and used to keep my old set nested inside each other in the drawer under my stove. since the finish will get scratched if they rub against each other i had to completely reorganize my cabinets so i could find space for all of the pieces. i ended up nesting them anyway but have to keep an old dish towel between each piece so nothing touches. about a week after getting them i made pasta in one of the pots. i added some basil, oil, red pepper flakes and garlic salt and stirred it (with a wooden spoon) around until i heard and felt it scratch. i dumped out the pasta and there was a 3 inch scratch from the garlic salt i guess. so that did it for me. i know you are supposed to be careful with the nonstick finish and i am. i have all silicone, nylon or wooden utensils. i clean them properly. but it is too much of a hassle now worrying the food will scratch it too. i am returning this set today and buying a stainless steel set.

A little bit less expensive to buy it from this outside source, but it took a bit of time for them to process my order--so just be aware that the above listing may be a faster way to get this item if you are in a hurry.
The Mobile Washer itself is a pretty amazing little contraption. Except for the loose handle issue (other reviewers used glue to solve this problem--I probably will do the same) it is really a great product. I was amazed at how much dirt came out of my clothes. I washed them in a 10 gal plastic tub. The rinsing was a bit more of a pain than I anticipated, but that is not the fault of this item. If you plan to wash clothes by hand I can't imagine too many better ways of doing that. I will say that you really do need some kind of way to ring out clothes, tho. Doing it by hand just really did not get enough water out.

First, I want to say that this barstool is very attractive. Being full wood, it just looks nice - the color, and the construction feels very solid. The swivel option adds a bit to the stool if you need such a feature (which I didn't).

The reason why I rated this 4, instead of 5 stars is the following:
1) The shipping is pretty rough with these stools. I found some bumps and buises on mine. Nothing worth returning, but chipped wood wasn't what I was hoping to get to when I opened this up.
2) The seat pad isn't as comfortable as it could be. You won't want to be sitting on this for hours at a time - but overall it's not bad for the money. The seat is very wide, though...fits the butt quite well.

I'm unsure of if there are better stools for the price..but after hours of searching through Amazon, I was confident that these stools would be the best for the money. I still stand by that, even with the chip in my stool leg.

The first set of these stools I received had one leg broken. Amazon was very prompt at replacing them seeing as Im a Prime member. I received the second set a few days later and they were intact, however, the stools are very wobbly and it was easy to see that they were destined to break with any use. I immediately called for a return. They do "look" nice, though.

I drooled over the Simplehuman stainless steel trash cans for weeks before I decided which one was just right for our new kitchen. I opted for this model since it did not rely on batteries to open/close the lid, was a large size, and was beautiful stainless steel. I couldn't be more pleased. We've had the can for a few weeks now, and aside from a few minor scratches on the lid and foot pedal, it's holding up like a tank.

When it's time to empty the can, you simply lift up the inner plastic can and rest it on the lip in the bottom of the can. You can now easily pull out the old bag and insert the new one. There is even a lid lock to keep the lid up while you change the bag.

Here are the overall dimensions of this trash can:
Height: 25.5 inches
Height (lid open): 35.5 inches (slightly less actually)
Depth(not including foot pedal): 10 inches
Depth(including foot pedal): 12.25 inches (roughly)
Width: 18.5 inches

I highly recommend this Simplehuman trash can, especially if you have stainless steel appliances in your kitchen. Very happy with look of trash can and smooth operation - open lid lock for liner change is great. Foot pedal is large and easily operable. Lid close is slow and won't slam shut - no noise. Will test fingerproof finish and odor control with carbon filter over time. With a 10-year warranty, can't really go wrong although price is an obstacle, but got mine at a discount. UPDATE: Can see toddler handprints, but easily cleaned. Foot pedal easily scratched. Odor control excellent with carbon filter.

Twice I ordered simplehuman 55 Liter Steel Bar Rectangular Step Can. Both times it arrived with dents. So, I finally gave up on the Steel Bar version and ordered the "simplehuman Rectangular Step Trash Can, Fingerprint-Proof Brushed Stainless Steel, 55-Liter /14-1/2-Gallon." This is exactly what it's called on Amazon. It arrived today and I was glad to see it didn't have any dents. However, the box clearly says its a 50 liter trash can, not 55 liter as described. In the mean time I ordered 200 55 liter trash bags directly from simplehuman. So, I now have a 50 liter trash can and 200 trash bags for a 55 liter trash can. I'm tired of going to UPS with large boxes full of return items from simplehuman. I really want a 55 liter simplehuman trash can without dents and is 55 liters, not 50 liters. I strongly prefer the "steel bar rectangular step can," but have little faith that it will arrive without dents. I don't know what to do at this point. Ugh.

I purchased this garbage because I wanted a stainless steel look without having to pay over 0. Although the garbage looks pretty good (it's plastic with a faux nickel finish) and looked good in my kitchen, it didn't function particularly well. Because it's so light-weight, it moved around every time i pressed on the foot pedal and it would never stay in the same place. You also can't place it too close to a wall because when the top opens, it pushed against the wall, making it move even more and ended up leaving black scuff marks on my wall. All in all, it looks great for the price, but if you want a functional sturdy garbage that stays in place when you use it, this is not the one.

I can't understand how some products are put out on the market, is it that once they make them and realize they do not work, they still put it out to sell them and make a profit at least. I mean this trash can looks real good, but is not functional, the shape of the lever at the bottom where you step to open the top lid is designed in a way that when you step on it, the trash can slides back, plus the can is very light. They could've done better. I'm dissapointed.

I've had 2 of these in my kitchen for 3 months and love them. They look great --- very nice satin metal look. The surface doesn't capture fingerprints like many metal cans. We're tough on a lot of our things and these I think will hold up better than metal cans that can dent / scratch. We use one for trash and the other for recyclables.

They are in front of a wall so we don't have as much movement problem as some others have had. But a few strip of rubber tape on the bottom do help keep them in place. Could add some weight (brick?) in the bottom. I'm happy they were so light that shipping costs were reasonable.

I own several of these and just ordered another three from Amazon. If I had allowed some of these reviews to influence my initial decision, I would never have purchased my first one. Examples of some of the reviews that I would like to refute:

> It's heavy: Sheesh! It holds FOURTEEN GALLONS, not ONE GALLON. Guess what happens when you ADD GALLONS - The weight INCREASES

> The valves are a knuckle buster: Sheesh! Lay the caddy on its back, a perfectly legal position. Then with the valves easily accessible, you can attach the hose and turn on both valves. THEN stand the caddy upright. Doing this will eliminate damaging your knuckles on the pavement. (Does not apply if you are known for your mental prowess as a "Knuckle Dragger"

> No flow if not elevated: It is NOT a service station (old term) with electrical power. It is a GRAVITY FEED and liquid flows DOWNHILL. Yes, you can pump the handle, as I have done many times. The entire caddy can be emptied in less than TEN MINUTES using the pump feature of the handle. If you have a medical condition, you probably won't be able to pump the gas. If you have no medical condition and can't pump the gas, you really need to also purchase a membership at a fitness center. I am 63-years old and I read how some of the KIDS can't do something as simple as pump the gas without having 911 on standby. I guess those video games exercise only the thumb and index finger. I was really looking foward to getting this. Instead of carrying two 6 gallon cans I could roll one unit. After I got it I wish I didn't waste my money. There are two little valves (same as those little garden hose shut-offs)which are small and difficult to get to and I have smaller hands. Then the valve that is further in came loose. After several emails and phone calls they said I had to get a speacial screw driver to tighten the handle. The unit holds 14 gallons but you can only get TWELVE out!! There are 2 gallons that can't be emptied. So its very difficult to get the tank empty for the off season. VERY DIFFICULT. The hose for the dispenser is so thin and soft that it collapses very easily restricting the flow. Once the hose is kinked from normal storage the flow is very restricted. There is no way to lock the dispenser on (which I understand) which means you have to hold the handle the whole time. And the flow under ideal conditions if very slow. You will be holding that thing a long time. I used a wire tie to hold it open. My advise would be to buy two 6 gallon cans and one of those plastic siphons (less than .00 for all) you will be much happier.

As the other reviewer pointed out this thing isn't what you want. I agree, you can't get all the gas out and it is very slow to drain. Using gravity it took me at least a half hour to drain the tank. The wheels stopped working after the first warm day that expanded the tank. It might be better if you some how made a new output hose for it, but then again aren't they spose to figure that out at the factory....

First off, make sure you read all the directions before use! After getting through the short manual, I set up shop in the bathroom and intended to clean every surface. It took about 15-20 minutes with a full tank (48 oz) to be ready for use. I kept the bathroom door closed and locked because I was concerned about my children and puppies being curious and getting hurt. I understand why it takes so long to get going, but I was worried that one of my little ones would get into it. There really should be a lock on the trigger seeing as it has to be left for so long to warm up and all it takes is a second to get some major burns. That said, locking it in the bathroom did the trick for me.

Once it was ready, I started with the brass nozzle and cleaned my bathtub and shower. It worked very well with a bit of elbow grease to remove all the build up in the grout and around the shower head which are always a pain to keep clean. It was very easy to clean the areas around my faucet that are too narrow to clean with anything other than a toothbrush. I also did some polishing up of the toilet and the toddler seats and felt really great about the idea of disinfecting everything without chemicals. I had wanted a versatile cleaner like this for some time as my mother has a nice one that I've always been jealous of, but it costs her every time she needs to refill the chemicals and they go pretty fast with regular use. As a result, she doesn't use it as much as she would like to. Not so with this steamer! I absolutely love that it's just tap water. So easy and simple. The manual does warn that over time you can get mineral build up from using non-distilled water but gives you clear directions on how to clean that up so I'm sure it won't be an issue when/if it happens.

Before finishing up with the nozzle, I found my own personal perfect use for the steamer. Cleaning my window screens! Several times a year, I have to take apart all our windows and haul the screens into the backyard to spray down with the hose. Not only is this time consuming, but it isn't all that effective. I still have to use up a ton of towels wiping them down to get them really clean. I decided to give the steamer a try on my bathroom screens and oh my gosh! Instantly clean. No scrubbing, no wiping, just clean. Even if I could use it for nothing else, I would use it for this. It will save me SO much time and headache in the long run.

Once I was done with the screen, I wanted to try the squeegee attachment on the windows and mirror. I am impatient and was annoyed that I had to wait 20 minutes for the attachment to cool before I could swap it out, so I used my oven mitt and easily took off the nozzle and replaced it with the squeegee. I'm very picky about streaky glass, and was VERY pleased that within seconds I had my mirror clean from top to bottom, even at the very top where I can't normally reach without a step ladder or climbing onto the vanity. It did leave little pools of water at the bottom but a quick wipe and it was cleaned up. And NO STREAKS!!

Finally, I put on the floor attachment and went to work on my tile. It was very quick and very simple. I left it to air dry as normal and the floor was clean in half the time with no chemicals. I love this steamer so much! It's making my family healthier thanks to being able to throw out the chemicals and it's saving me time and money. Does it get any better?!

My only gripes are the fact that there is no safety lock on the trigger for use when it's warming up and that there's no on board storage for all the accessories. I get that they wanted to keep the unit small and portable, but I have all this bulky accessories with nowhere to store them. Also, the cord is pretty short. I can imagine this is for safety reasons, but it's kind of a nuisance to keep moving it from plug to plug, even within a single room. Overall though, well worth the money!

Please note that I have posted before and after images for 2 different stains on cement floors.

The first thing I did when this item arrived is pour myself a tall cup of coffee and read the instruction booklet. Radically banal, I know, but I did this for 2 reasons:

1) Things that steam and operate under pressure wig me out a bit
2) Is it advised for use on my specific application? (Cement floor? Answer: yes)

My Main Intended Application (possible gross-out alert):

This steamer is marketed primarily for wall-paper removal. While my house does not have any wall-paper, it does have certain tell-tale signs that 4 cats live here. They have produced prodigious and near-permanent 3-D stains using every orifice available to them. Scrub-brushes, a garden hoe, bleach, TSP, Brillo pads ... NOTHING removes the stains that went undetected for more than a couple of days, especially on our basement's cement floor.

WHAT I LIKE:

1) Ease of set-up and ease of use - not messy, though it did scare the cats, and required lots of paper towels
2) Attachments (1 jet nozzle, 2 nozzle brushes, 2 extension wands, 1 steam plate, 1 large cleaning brush, 1 squeegee)
3) Light-weight, easy to carry up and down stairs
4) 16 ounces of water heated in just a few minutes (max of 48 ounces will require longer time)
5) Results on cement floor - outstanding!! (see my Customer Images) Just a few swipes with the cleaning brush attachment did the job (plus a whole lot of paper towels).

WHAT I DO NOT LIKE - POTENTIAL HAZARD:

This steamer has no water-level indicator and you should use your own timer to prevent fire and/or electric shock from allowing the steamer to boil dry. The machine DOES have a thermal safety fuse reset capability for when the steamer is allowed to run WHILE dry (i.e. if you turn the machine on without filling the reservoir first), yet it does not seem to kick in if the steamer had been previously filled but allowed to boil dry. Thus, for safety, you have to be VERY mindful about your usage time based on how much water you have inserted (see "Good To Know" below). The manufacturers seriously need to add at least an automated timer to this machine and ideally an auto-shut-off feature.

WHAT I DID NOT EXPECT:

During my first 10 minutes of use, I had to stop and wait 4 times for the water to reheat. This is a bit of a pain for longer periods of cleaning, but I can get used to this. (I just have to remember to look at the indicator lights very frequently; when the light is red, the machine is working on creating steam, therefore you must wait for the light to turn green again, indicating steam is available for use.)

GOOD TO KNOW:

1) 16 ounces of water provides 15 minutes of steam time
2) 32 ounces of water provides 30 minutes of steam time
3) 48 ounces of water (max capacity) provides 45 minutes of steam time
4) Distilled water is recommended over regular tap water.
5) You'll most likely need an extension cord, and only a heavy duty 3-wire 3-prong (grounded) cord.
6) You'll need to use your own timer to avoid a hazardous boiled-dry situation.

BOTTOM LINE:

For cleaning nasty old 3-D pet-stained cement floors, I am positively pleased with this steamer. What this steamer was able to accomplish in just 10 minutes outweighs the concerns I mentioned above. I am looking forward to experimenting with all the attachments and getting to know this machine much better.

I was very excited when this came in the mail today. My luck with a steam cleaner has not been very good lately. This can be attested to a steam cleaner (McCulloch 1246) I bought a few months back and after trying it on, provided extremely disappointing results, it was returned within the day I received it. Only a comprehensive evaluation of the Wagner 915 On-Demand Power Steamer would tell if my excitement will turn into exhiliration or disappointment, and I am proud to conclude, it has exceeded my expectations of what a steam cleaner should be in every way.

The Wagner 915 comes in a bright yellow-colored body and it is ready to roll right out of the box: fill it up with water, attach the jet nozzle, plug it in the outlet, wait a few minutes for steam and pressure to build up and voila! steam power at your command, ready to tackle the most demanding cleaning job in your household.

It comes with following attachments: the main jet nozzel, plastic and metal brush, attachment to remove wallpapers and the mopping attachment. My first order of battle for this steam cleaner is the bathroom. Once the red light indicator turns off, just leaving the green light, it means you're ready to wage your war on germs. I tried it first on the shower curtains and the superheated and high pressure steam blasted away soap scums like it wasn't there. The superheated steam softens the scum and the pressure blasts it away at the same time. The grout also proved no match for this steamer. Along with the plastic brush attachment, a gentle scrubbing motion was all it took to make the stain disappear on the grout edges. Since the steam was very hot, you can also sanitize the toilet without worrying about the smell of chemical cleaners or getting it on your skin. My second task was the stove top, oven and the microwave. Again, the superheated steam and both the plastic and metal brush, softened the baked in grime and stain and blasted it away with high pressure. All that needs to be done in the end is a simple wipe. You can also prefer to skip the wiping and just air dry it. I haven't tried the wallpaper remover attachment since there are no wall papers anywhere in my home.

Be advised though that, you need to have a little patience when using a steam cleaner. As you prolong the steaming, you release pressure from the steaming unit and it needs to build up again. This is the purpose of the red light indicator. If the red light is on, it means it is building up steam and pressure. It has exceeded my expectations in the sense that with the Wagner 915, this steamer MAINTAINED the superheated status of the steam for a much longer time compared to the previous steam cleaner I had, the McCulloch 1246. Maintaining the heat of the steam for a prolonged period of time is very important feature in my opinion as it gets your task done faster without the frequent waiting in between for the steam cleaner to heat up and build pressure again. The McCulloch 1246 failed miserably with this feature. (You can read all about this in my separate review for the McCulloch). Another nice thing with the wagner is that it has its own compartment where you can store the tiny plastic and metal brush. It can be stored there after using the steamer, eliminating the need to look for it elsewhere or misplacing it. Be careful though because it is also where the water tank opening is located and just after using the steamer, the tank cap can be very hot so avoid getting in contact with it right after use.

Other reviewers noted the short power cord. This is a minor gripe in my opinion as I can always use an extension cord. Overall, very impressed with the performance of this product and I just hope it continues to function well and not break down in the near future. Highly recommended!

I have a Kitchen Aid already. I got this because we had one when I was a kid and this was kind of nostalgic. There has been no significant change in the design of the Sunbeam since I was a kid, at least as far as I can remember. I don't remember the head locking either up or down, but maybe it did, I don't know. More on that later... I think you are already familiar with the mechanics of how the Kitchen Aid mixes things (the planetary motion) vs how the Sunbeam mixes things (a hand mixer on a stand) so I won't go into detail on that, other than to express my preferences between the two.

Round 1: overall mixing ability
Today I was trying to make banana bread. First I have to cream some butter with eggs and sugar. After this was complete, I threw in some bananas and had the mixer mash them up. It appears that when you have semi-solid things (like butter or bananas) that you are trying to incorporate into a batter, the free-spinning bowl tends to spin the item right up to the beater, but then at first it doesn't want to go any further. After doing a little convincing, the beaters just buzz right through it and the bowl spins around until it reaches the obstacle again. This time there is less resistance and better mixing. On the 3rd go around, it's even better, and so on. I've made this same recipe dozens of times on the Kitchen Aid and this process goes a little faster and with less intervention. Don't get me wrong--the Sunbeam does just fine with this sort of task, it's just that the Kitchen Aid does it better. I'm going to say that Kitchen Aid is the clear winner here.
WINNER: Kitchen Aid.

Round 2: bowl scraping
Both mixers are very good at getting right up next to the edge of the bowl so that minimal bowl scraping is required, however neither is perfect and both will need a scrape or two during your food prep (NOTE: for either model, the paddles should not actually touch the bowl. If they are, you need to make an adjustment). You cannot scrape the Kitchen Aid bowel while it is running (well, at least not without a very high risk of damaging your mixer, the spoon and/or your hand). The Sunbeam, however, allows you to not only easily scrape the bowl while it is on, but it will even spin the bowl for you so you can just stick a rubber spatula in and hold it in place and the mixer will (sometimes) do the rest for you. I was even able to hold the spatula up to the beaters and thus wipe the spatula clean while it was on. NOTE: the very center of the bowl may sometimes appear to need a good scraping during mixing, but if you just adjust the bowl position using the bowl size lever, it will take care of it for you. It's manual, but easy. This is only sometimes necessary and I suspect if I ignored the problem, the mixer would eventually get everything in the middle, anyway.
WINNER: Sunbeam

Round 3: power
I'm afraid I haven't exercised to its full ability yet, but trying to run bread dough through 2 hooks feels a little awkward. I have made bread in this (and it came out great) but it sure sounded like it was struggling. On the other hand, the Kitchen Aid boasts a lot of power... HOWEVER, it has an intentionally engineered weak point--a gear that will break if it sees too much of a load. I've had to replace this gear twice on my Kitchen Aid. It costs about 0 to have a pro replace the gear for you, or if you are not too timid to open up the device and get grease all over, you can do it yourself for about -. Let's just say I'm not terribly impressed with the whole "power" aspect of Kitchen Aid's offering.
WINNER: Draw

Round 4: ease of use
* Both are very easy to use, although if you have ever tried to add ingredients to a Kitchen Aid while it is on, you know that you need some sort of device to assist, or you will make quite a mess. That isn't a problem with the Sunbeam--there's plenty of room on one side of the bowl to add whatever you need.
* On the other hand, the head-locking mechanism on the Sunbeam is a little awkward. One of my Kitchen Aids is a tilt head (like the Sunbeam) and the other is a bowl lift mechanism. The tilting Kitchen Aid's head is much easier to deal with than the Sunbeam because it locks down with a simple lever and then there is no need to lock at the top. The Sunbeam, by contrast, has a button you have to press to lift and then press again to lower and it's awkward to press in either case. I much prefer the Kitchen Aid's approach here.
* The Kitchen Aid has a handle on the bowl that makes it MUCH easier to hold while scraping. The Sunbeam cannot have a handle since the bowl spins.
* Some of the Kitchen Aid models come with implements that are not dishwasher safe (My Artisan series implements are all dishwasher safe, but my pro-series model made it very clear that I should not be putting it in the dishwasher--if I wanted to wash in the dishwasher, I should buy... Read more

I'm not a real big baker and for the past forty years have gotten by happily enough with a hand mixer, but this handsome, powerful stand mixer is opening new vistas for me. So far I've made mashed potatoes, chocolate butter-cream frosting, meringues, and whole wheat bread, and it's been easier and less messy than my handheld mixer ever was. I can see myself using this more often and for more things because of its greater ease, power, capacity, and the dough hooks, which made kneading bread--something I've previously had to do by hand--a snap.

I love the 4.6 quart stainless steel bowl with its steep, almost straight sides since it gives me so much depth for mixing and keeps virtually all the splatters within the bowl. With my handheld mixer and more rounded mixing bowls I would inevitably end up with batter on myself, the mixer, and even the counter around where I was working. Now, that just doesn't happen. Although this is a much bigger and heavier mixer, it's actually more convenient to use. I've been storing it on top of my refrigerator (as opposed to in a case in a cupboard), and it's a snap to bring down, put in the color coded beaters or hooks, and start mixing. Even better, the clean-up takes no time at all since the only things dirty now are the beaters and the bowl. Further, these beaters can go in the dishwasher, which I've read some beaters of more expensive stand mixers cannot.

As far as power goes, the mixer has plenty but is not too loud. The dough hooks worked great on the Bob's Red Mill whole wheat bread I mixed and made the eight to ten minutes of required kneading no trouble. I did wonder if the mixer's kneading was comparable to hand kneading and if I should adjust the time, but ended up kneading for about nine minutes, and the bread rose perfectly. The mixer had no trouble with one large loaf, and I think it could have readily handled two.

So what about drawbacks? I think the button to raise the head is somewaht inconveniently located on the shaft of the mixer and would like it if it were up on the head. Also, it would be nice if the head could be set at different distances from the bowl since at times it seemed either too close or a bit too far away. Further, the instruction/recipe booklet is only so-so and could be greatly improved with more interesting, varied, and health-minded recipes, plus tips on how to use the mixer. I was disappointed there wasn't a single recipe for bread, let alone whole grain bread, and very little on how to use the mixer for various tasks. I've found it's taking me a while to learn how to use it well, getting the bowl to turn with different contents, and I think some instruction, coupled with recipes and recommendations from skilled users, would make make a great addition. The mixer does not come with a small bowl, for example, and that made it awkward to use the first time I tried to make frosting. The second time I tried using a smaller bowl of my own, and it actually worked! I also have discovered I can mix with the head up and use it more like a hand mixer if I want. Having all these tricks explained from the get-go would be a real asset.

I can't really compare this to other stand mixers or the Kitchen Aide products but would advise buyers to approach mixer reviews on consumer sites with caution. I've read through dozens of them and think many are plants both for and against this product (in other colors) and its competitors, and that they often raise `straw man' arguments. For example, one reviewer for this product in another color said it was messy to use, and that seems almost impossible in my experience. Another said the unit lacked mixing power for something easy like cookies, and I also find that very hard to believe. If a reviewer has written nothing but one mixer review here at Amazon, for example, I'd question his or her motivation; when a product has dozens of those one-review reviewers, I'd suspect an orchestrated campaign.

Although this is neither the least expensive nor the most expensive of stand mixers, it's much more versatile than my hand mixer, attractive, well-built seeming, and overall a pleasure to use. I think it would be great if you could try both a less expensive and a more expensive model before buying, but if you can't this seems like a fine looking, dependable option that's sturdier than the cheaper ones and more affordable than the costlier ones. The deep red and stainless steel look gorgeous together, and the vintage styling is terrific in a modern, 'midcentury' kitchen. Four and a half stars since it could use a better instruction book and information on buying other attachments and a smaller bowl.

It is fairly light weight for it's size. It is very durable, so it not going to fall apart after the first use. I had it all the way up to the highest speed and it was not any louder than my hand held mixer. The bowl is easily set into place and removed, along with the blades. While mixing, the bowl spins, so there is no real need for you to spin the bowl so the mixer gets to everything. Also, it is easy to slide the switch that moves the bowl so the blades can be in the center or along the side. In each position, the bowl with spin slowly, yet it is easy for you to spin bowl if you want it to spin a little faster, and can switch the position of bowl while mixing as well. There is a button along the side to lift the blades out of the mix, as well as an eject (marked) button to remove the blades from the mixer. It does come with a nice size bowl, I might enjoy a smaller bowl at some point but the one that comes with the mixer is nice for cake mix or bread dough. For what I do, I wouldn't want anything larger. I am looking forward to the holidays to have a reason to use it, and maybe try it out on making mashed potatoes from scratch.

I have recently bought the smaller bowl for this and it is the perfect size for me. Small stainless steel bowl for Sunbeam Heritage mixers.The bowl that came with the mixer is the biggest I would use, especially for home use. The smaller bowl is perfect for smaller projects. My husband is in the army, so when he is deployed it is just me and my daughter, so most of the stuff that I would use the mixer would be for small amounts.

It's the perfect size for an office or bathroom trash can. The only bummer is that the label on the can is actually a sticker so it's a little tough to get off in one piece...but that's what WD40 is for. Something I hadn't notice before it arrived is that it comes with a rubber band that goes around the top to keep the liner in place. Wicked handy. The construction is pretty good. Looks like it could take a bit of a beat and still remain in tact. Two thumbs up from me.

This trash can is great-looking. It was a bit larger than I'd envisioned, however, is a good size to use in the bathroom or even in an office. There is a flexible black band that can be used to hold the bag in place, although I've not had to use it. My only other comment is that there is a seam down each of the short sides so you do see the seam depending on how the trash can is placed. I noticed it on the first day, but haven't paid much attention since. I would recommend this trash can to others.

I really like the look of this fixture and the metal has a very nice satin nickel finish. The 2 issues we have with the fixture are small and now that it is installed, we are just going to keep it. One, the spout handle pulls away from the metal rod and the 2 stream options are great, but you cannot pull it down or out. This is not a pull out faucet. You can pull it down about 2 inches because the spring allows this. But it is not like a typical pull out with any length of hose to work with. Also, once installed it does not come out far enough into the middle of the sink for use. It is very close to the back of the sink. It is ok, but it would be better if it came out maybe another 2 or 3 inches.

My wife and I bought this faucet as part of a kitchen remodel. The semi-professional look of it went well with the look we were going for, and obviously is good for washing dishes.

The plumber who hooked up the dishwasher/disposal/sink kept asking me about where it was from (he'd never seen the brand), and commenting about how unusually easy it was to hook it up, and how solid it seemed. Obviously, the quality of a faucet is more for long-term evaluation, but so far, it looks like he's right: the thing is built well.

We were looking for a faucet like this in the stores and they are either very flimsy, have plastic parts, or are expensive. So I was happy to run across this one for a good price. It seems very sturdy and it is all metal. The only little thing is that the valve requires a little more force to open and shut it. It might be that I need to reduce the water pressure a bit to fix that.

Our house was built in the 80s, and I'm fairly sure most the of hardware is original to the home. There is nothing innately wrong with any of it, but the kitchen faucet inparticular is starting to have a minor leak when the water is run at full blast. So, I was thrilled to be given the chance to install and review this beautiful, but kind of expensive, faucet from Moen.

My husband and I are not do-it-yourselfers. So, just to be one the safe side and as to not accidentally flood the kitchen, we decided to have my Father-in-Law come over to assist in the installation process. The instructions were very straight forward. While his Dad's help was appreciated, Mike felt like he would have been able to install the new faucet himself without any trouble.

The idea that the handle can be installed on either side is pretty cool. I would imagine that 95% if people install on the right side, but it's nice to have the option. The faucet has a very high arc and the nozzle attaches and detaches very easily. There is a switch on the nozzle that allows you to switch between normal and concentrated stream, but there is also an off switch on the nozzle, which comes in very handy.

The only warning I would give, if you are replacing a sink with a stand-along nozzle, make sure you get a Faucet Hole Cover. I think it would have been nice if one had been included with this set, although I guess that's not practical. So just heed my warning, or else you'll have a beautiful new faucet and a not so beautiful hole in your sink.

This is a good looking faucet!

Ok, we are in the process of updating our somewhat dated kitchen. We placed an order for a new sink, which should arrive in about a week. We are also getting rid of our "butcher-block" Formica counters and replacing them with concrete. We currently have another pull-out faucet made quite some time ago by another manufacturer. It has given good service, with some repairs along the way, but it is definitely time for it to retire.

I received this beautiful Moen faucet, opened the box to take a closer look, and then made the mistake of showing it to my wife. I say it was a mistake because I was not planning on installing it until I installed the concrete counters and the new sink. Turns out I was wrong to think that was the better plan and my wife explained to me the errors of my thinking. So now we have this beautiful faucet installed on our old sink and counter. I tried to explain that when we swap out the new sink and counter it will be double work removing the new faucet from the old sink and installing it on the new sink, but it did not matter. I was over-ruled.

Now I guess it was not too bad, because removing the old faucet and installing this new one only took me about 20 minutes. The install process is very easy, and the faucet came with everything I needed. The faucet is pretty cool because you have some options on how to install it. The water controller can be put on the left or the right, or actually in the middle, but I would not recommend that because you would be losing some room over the sink basin.

The faucet in operation is very simple. Just what you would expect from a single controller water valve. The pull down feature is great and is much better than my old one because this faucet has a three way controller for stream, aerating spray, or pause to stop the water flow. My previous pull out faucet did not have a pause button, and it did not pull out as far as this new unit.

I expect a long life on this product and I am basing that on the previous Moen faucets I have owned. We currently have Moen faucets installed in our bathrooms and they work great and look great too!

Like many Moen models, this is a sturdy, sleek and stylish faucet, but definitely on the large side. It's hard to get a sense of the scale of this faucet from the photo, but it would likely suitable only for large-scale kitchens. Gorgeous finish and nice capabilities, include the handing pull down lever. In all, a great buy if you've got the acreage to use it.

The year's may have passed and he's turned into a TV personality since Kitchen Confidential Updated Edition: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly (P.S.), which revealed the behind-the-scenes world of a chef in the NY city restaurant scene, but Tony despite his own self-analysis in this one hasn't changed all that much.

He's still as potty mouthed, contrarian, anti-establishment and provocative as ever. He's also as much or more of a clever, creative good writer with an unquestionable passion for food and the restauraunt biz that entertains and fascinates even someone like me who only eats at restaurants.

Like the first book, the chapters each act as more of an essay than as a story - covering the evolution of the restaurant/food industry and what's happened to him since his first book.

There's a lot of angry diabtribes interlaced with his dry humor. The topics include the inability to find a good decent hamburger, overpretentious/priced restaurant habits, the evils of the James Beard foundation, Alice Waters and sustainability, vegetarianism, the CIA and the Food Network. Some of these are better executed than others. During the hamburger one, in particular - I was ready for him to get off his soapbox long before he actually did.

Still, Tony doesn't shy away from naming names and dishing dirt that anyone who watches those "evil" food shows like Iron Chef, Top Chef, and Rachel Ray will recognize and find entertaining. In fact, a whole chapter is dedicated to who he believes are the heroes and villians of the restaurant biz today, and why. (Basically, non-restaurant "warriors" and anything that mildly reeks of establishment isn't going to hit the heroes list.)

Where the book, for me, truly shined was when it became about the food he loves and people he admires. A food porn chapter in which he highlights many of his best foodie experiences was a delight. He and his wife's attempts to convince their daughter that Ronald McDonald is an evil guy w/ cooties left me in stitches. And, a chapter about a man who just cleans and cuts fish everyday for a fine dining restaurant and his incredible mastery of it moved me.

Finally, there's a chapter that serves up an update to what's happened to the people he featured in Kitchen Confidential, that anyone who read that one won't want to miss.

BOTTOM LINE: If you've read Kitchen Confidential and enjoyed it, you'll enjoy this one - written by a slightly older and wiser man who hasn't lost any of his edge, writing ability or passion for food.

Anthony Bourdain's previous collection "Nasty Bits" felt like a watered-down overcooked rehash of his original shtick. His new one, "Medium Raw," is a true revival. Bourdain has shaken off the cashmere of complacency to don a Viking bear-shirt of rage, and even though he takes stabs at familiar targets--TV, the corporations and the rich--he has come up with bloody fresh reasons to hate them (which is something.) His jokes are disturbing, his horrors hilarious, his meals orgasmic: his food descriptions are as far beyond crass culinary porn as Caravaggio and Boticelli are beyond "Jugs." Schlosser and Pollan may better connect food to economics and politics; Bourdain is supreme at plugging it to the gonads and guts. No one better demonstrates that food is part of life. This book makes both more interesting.

Tony does not, for the most part, pull any punches. For the record, Sandra Lee terrifies me too. He doesn't divulge Bigfoot's identity, but for the most part, does name names. I especially liked the chapter on heros and villains. His takedown of Alan Richman is priceless.

The bottom line with Mr. Bourdain is that he really cares about food and the people who prepare it, whether it's the guy in the Czech Republic who stuffs sausages with his bare hands, or the man who cuts the fish at Le Bernardin.

Food is too important to leave to the Rachael Rays and Sandra Lees of the world. We need fewer people clamoring about EVOO and more people cooking and eating a well-executed omelet or a good simple tomato sauce.

Start reading this on a Friday. It will last most of the weekend, and when you're finished, you'll be eager for the next course. I don't know how many more of these Tony has in him, but I'm waiting for the next one.

This is a really great set. My daughter is 15 months old, and is in the put it on and take it off again faze. She loves these bottles! Since they came out of the box she has been "seasoning" her play cooking with these bottles. The magnets keep the caps on nice and tight, but it is still easy to remove them if you want. I also like that I can use them to work on her colors, since the caps match the bottles. Only disappointment is that the storage tray does not come with them anymore. I was a little upset by that. The picture on the box shows the tray, and the box even says it includes the tray. But no tray was to be found. Total bummer.

Just received this set. I ordered this for a two year old obsessed with ketchup! It's an accessory for his new wood toy kitchen. I was afraid the colors might be a bit jarring with the natural wood of his other toys, but was pleasantly surprised. They're sturdy and cute and he enjoys them. I like that the different caps aren't interchangable...it's good practice for matching colors. These aren't heirloom toys, but they're sturdy and will last. I wish the magnets were a bit stronger, but they do the trick. I'm happy with this purchase.
