Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood |Episode 56: Eternal Leave - Death, Death, Sacrifice and the Circle
Before we start this week's latest episode's summary, allow me to comment first on the nature of the situations. This episode, to say the least is shocking. And not to ruin everyone's fun, I think I'll just say, that there's a lot of death, (probably the main reason why it's Eternal Leave), and the partial activation of a certain little circle.

Episode 57: Eternal Leave

Following King Bradley's return, and the ensuing duel, we are brought back to General Armstrong and their little session with the oldest (or so I presume) general in the Central Command Center's personnel. After a few confessions, and the newly converted Central Soldiers, General Olivier received a call from their main control, informing her of the situation that the place they are in is no longer safe. And thus, they were forced to find alternate route of escape, which Izumi gladly showed them.

Meanwhile, back in the front gate, the battle once again gained its momentum. As Lan Fan's grandfather, and Greeng clashed against the Fuhrer, in a seemingly useless battle. King Bradley's eye seemed to have predicted their movements, and with his skill in battle, he was able to separate Greeng and his guard, giving him the opportunity to attack and fatally wound the old fighter.

When Greeng noticed the wound on his personal guard, Ling took over, angered and unable to accept the fate of his subordinate. Fu tried to console his young master, before finding an opening, he distracted Ling before attacking King Bradley, revealing his bombs in an attempt to "take them both to hell". But of course, Bradley's eye caught all of it easily, and slashing Fu's abdomen, he was able to separate the burning trigger away from the explosives, rendering it useless.

However, Fu's efforts were not wasted, because Buccaneer, desperate to get even with Bradley used his sword on Fu, allowing it pass through his body and fatally wound Bradley. We could only assume that it was end for these men (and since Bradley is a human infused with a single philosopher's stone, he's going with them as well.), hence, highlighting the title "Eternal Leave". After Ling, in his rage, dealt the final blow to King Bradley, Lan Fan arrived just in time to witness her grandfather's death.

Meanwhile, Armstrong's group had a bit of sentimental exchange of their ideals and beliefs, mostly about alchemist and their lives, as well as Ed and Al's sacrifices. When Izumi stated that she would have to make the escape tunnel, Armstrong, along with the soldiers refused to follow.

Still deep in the tunnel, Ed and the others met a Alchemy Researcher who claimed to be the one who created King Bradley. Soon enough, he introduced what he termed as "King Bradley extras" or something and both party were engaged in a quick-paced battle. When Mustang's side took almost half of the alchemist's pawns, Ed realized it a little too late that the person has already drawn a transmutation circle. Their worst fears were confirmed when the alchemist told them that the circle is connected to all of the research centers across the city, confirming that he was indeed activating the Amestris transmutation circle.

Once the circle is activated, its effects became immediate. Swirly black hand emerged from the ground. Curiously, it only took three main characters as of the moment. It took Izumi right before she could create the tunnel, Alphonse who arrived at the city, and Edward. And as the episode ended, the title truly shines in its symbolization for death. That's quite...depressing. In just a single episode already six characters fell. Although I doubt that Ed, Al and Izumi would succumb to this alchemy.

I'm sure they can find their way out of it. And perhaps Alphonse could even get back to his body, because the black hands are bringing them inside the doorway of truth.

All in all, the episode gave us yet another set of things to think about, more actions to look forward to and even more puzzles to be solved. Next: Episode 58: Human Sacrifices.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood | Episode 56: The Return of the Fuhrer - And So the Action Heats Up!

Episode 56: The Return of the Fuhrer

All Hail King Bradley!

The show opens up years ago, after the destruction of the mighty civilization of Xerxes, and Hohenheim, the only survivor of the said city was found by Xingese traders. Tired, exhausted and traumatized by the great loss, Hohenheim seemingly lost his will. But in all actuality, he was conversing with the 536, 329 souls that the Dwarf in the Flask imprisoned in his body as a parting gift.

This, he told his once great friend, and that's why the "Father" have been having strange reactions ever since he struck Hohenhiem in the last duel as the souls transferred from Hohenheim's body to his. He explained that he had been conversing with these souls and thanks to the immortal body that the Homonculus gave him, he had all the time in the world.

Father was surprised at this, not expecting the souls to have wills on their own once they are molded into stones. However, he was proven wrong as the souls that has just transferred from Hohenheim attacked him from the inside, in an attempt to break his vessel. Hohenheim believed that by destroying the Homonculus' body, he would turn to dust.

But Father surprised him by demonstrating his ability to survive outside his skin. The surprise held Hohenheim in place and the scene shifted to the surface, where King Bradley is now taking over the majority of the situation.

The Fuhrer marched into his now stolen Home with relative ease, breaking through Briggs' garrison with relative ease, even destroying the tank and Buccaneer's equipment without batting an eyelash and reaching the main entrance. There, he is forced to break through his own home stating that he, as the owner shouldn't be forced to use the backdoor of his own house.

With this, he began attacking the gate again, but his entrance was barred by Falman and with the arrival of Greeng (Greed/Ling) who attacked the Fuhrer. While the battle in the command center raged on, Central reinforcement arrived to take over the main gate. However, Falman has thought of a plan, using the machine guns and the advantage of height to completely stall the advancing Sovereign Batallion of General Gamelan.

Meanwhile, back in the radio station, Ross and her companions were forced to pin the crimes to the Briggs now that the Fuhrer has returned to keep up their facade of being "allied" with the King.

While back inside the command center, General Gamelan was furious at the thought that his army is being defeated just by two machine guns and tried to contact the Central Forces inside the command center. But his response was an irritating Negative. To add insult to his injury, smoke bombs of different colors flooded the room and his entire army is massacred by one Ninja. I thought it was actually Lan Fan. But it was actually her grandfather who immediately assisted Greeng.

Once the two men were introduced the grandfather finally realized that it was the Fuhrer himself. Remembering his daughter's amputated arm, anger flared up within. A new battle will once again begin.

----

Before I end this entry, I must say I am very happy with how everything turned out. I thought the power outage is going to be whole day! But ASELCO is so kind to resume its flow right after the first replay so I was able to catch this episode.

The preview for this one isn't exactly clear. However, I have an idea that a death of a main character will take place. Next Episode : Episode 57: Eternal Leave.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood | Episode 55: The Adult's Way of Life - Temporary Victory

Episode 55: The Adult's Way of Life

The show opened with Ed and the others getting lost in the maze. While they are trying to find their way through the labyrinth in hopes of facing "Father", it would appear that the events in Central are starting to head for the better. While Buccaneer and the Briggs soldier seized control of the Central Operations Center,

The entire show, although lengthy by its own right focused on the capture of the Central Command Center. It is also in this chapter that Al and Ed's father confronted the Dwarf in the Flask. While at first Hohenhiem tried to pacify "Father" by his idealism, and talks about family, it seems that their confrontation is inevitable. However, their fight is something that poses no threat to humanity.

Because as they fought, the Armstrong sibling has already teamed up with Ed and Al's teacher and her husband and defeated Sloth. Although I can't say that I am affected by this as I had with Envy. While Envy's death is emotional, guilt-driven and sentimental, the kind that struck at one's heart strings, Sloth, as his name suggest, passed away without any trouble. Just as he said "It's troublesome to die." Mendukese ne? And so he died without any trouble at all.

And it would appear that Alex has found another new friend- "Izumi's Husband" and apparently, their muscles and shininess, glitter with all their agreement in their philosophy. "Excellent and Elegant" indeed -gags-.

Moving on, while they are past the pleasantries of getting to know each other, they got a call that would be worthy of celebration. The Briggs soldiers, being that the humanoids- The Immortal Legions has kept the Central Defenders preoccupied, and has successfully took General Cremin and the rest into their custody, has captured 90% of the Command Center.

Even now, their soldiers and tanks are taking their positions around the inner gate awaiting orders from their leader. As General Olivier barked few orders, their little celebration was interrupted by a transmission in their lines.

Yes and the unexpected has arrived. "All Central soldiers, your Fuhrer has arrived. Help me oust these rebels." Hailing back from the dead, the Fuhrer has unexpectedly showed up when Armstrong and Mustang's forces had victory at their grasps. With Pride and Greed the only Homonculus left alive, and the majority of the Central Forces are all but weakened, will it be a walk in the park?

Or will his royal and Imperial King Bradley find a way to turn the tables? What does implies for our little heroes? Tune in for the next Episode: The Return of the Fuhrer.

Changes in Animax : Good or Bad? Well I say it's Horrendous, Ill-Informed and a Stupid Move!

It would appear that animax has indeed changed just as it promised. As May arrived, apparent changes, like how the transition from a show to commercial breaks is handled and the inclusion of Korean shows (which, although not half bad but is not in conformity to the nature of the channel.) has caught my attention.

The first thing that grabbed my attention is some Korean Show that I don't recognized which I saw at around noon time yesterday. While I would be willing to get out of my comfort zone and try it, the Tagalog dub turned me off. I am just used to the English and Japanese shows in Animax that it's so weird that Tagalog/Filipino, a language that sits uncomfortably with my ears , can be heard from the station. So I guess Animax has dropped a few points from my "appeal" criterion.

Another change is the logo, one of the most prominent changes. I like the former logo, it is much classier and more stylish than the new one which by the way is ugly, plain and easily fades into the background that I barely noticed it until a black background came on.

The last change that I noticed is how the transition from a show to commercial break is handled. While it still shows what anime/show you're viewing, the new song is distracting, especially in high volumes and the new background is distracting. The overall theme of the station has changed as well and I just couldn't stomach it showing movies and shows that drifts away from the real spirit of anime. I mean, telenovela? Non-anime shows?

I can tolerate the Qube and Animax Musix because, it still has some anime contents, which I believe is the real theme of the station. Their telecasts move are also good and I appreciate it that they're trying to improve the quality of anime viewing by giving out the original subbed versions. But these are gone with the coming of May.

But anyway, I guess all good things will come to pass. The only station that is left that still focuses purely on anime is Hero. But even that is not desirable because it only has Filipino dubs which isn't good in my ears. Animax is the only true reason why I still suffer the outdated era of television.

But with the way these changes are headed, I can't say I'll be sticking with televisions for a while.

Google's New Search Results - Ugly or Annoying? Maybe Both! Get Rid of that Horrid Sidebar!!!

Good day, my little journal. It's been quite a while and my almost frequent posts have been infrequent due primarily to my laziness. But this new thing that has just grabbed my attention without any warning whatsoever has made me immediately want to write a post about it. I may have just overlook google's warning for this. But I am just surprised that the clean, lean and neat look of the google search engine result page has changed int something ugly and "cluttered-looking".

It may perhaps be an opinion, and I'm acting and looking way too much into this. But perhaps you'd understand that when you weren't given a warning of a sudden change, you'd feel negatively against it, especially if it changed something you liked into something you don't like.

Image: Ugly sidebar grabs away neatness and leanness.

And just take a look at that, it's so unobtrusive and unnecessary. Sure, it might be truly convenient to some but it strips away the real reason why I truly stuck to Google for years- Neatness and Cleanliness.

Yahoo and MSN's search engine are far too cluttered and I wouldn't trust any other search engine nor would bother to use it on my browser. But it would appear that Google is following that path and it annoys me. I trust google, I like google but this move bothers me and I don't like it. It would be nice if there's option to turn it off.

Would you by any chance know of one without having to install some scripts? If not, then I would instantly label this as a "failure" of execution in Google's part.

EDIT: Anyway, I think I may have been too late. It would appear that the issue has long been rolled out judging from the link below. But my voice and opinion still stands. It's horrid, distracting, ugly and annoying. Take it down or at least give users the option to switch it on or off. That would be more tasteful.

related discussion: http://lifehacker.com/5531851/googles-new-search-look-officially-rolled-out

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood Episode 54: Beyond the Inferno- Envy's Death and Heartbreak

Fullmetal Alchemist started out the replay with the events with Mustang, being asked by the Flame Alchemist daughter to release her from the burden her father placed upon her. While this might seem disconnected from the rest of the story that would follow, I can connect a few dots within this.

Well, to make the entire story short, this episode pretty much revolves around the end for Envy. Yes, and I must say it is in the most heart-wrenching and eye tearing event to date that I have ever witness. This entry does not aim to provide the usual summary. I am just too emotionally affected with Envy that I cannot truly write an objective entry at the moment.

Everything started when the lieutenant supposedly followed Mustang. I was actually thinking that it was the lieutenant who's Envy in disguise. But appears that Envy is disguising himself as Mustang and was tricked into revealing himself. Just before the homonculus can actually damage or harm her in any way, Colonel Mustang arrived to save her.

And it was in this moment that the emotional thing started to occur. With Mustang in the verge of his hatred and vengeance, Envy lost the power of the philosopher's stone, having been killed multiple times. This rendered him useless and weak, forcing him to revert to his original form.

Weak, ugly, small and defenseless, Envy was at Roy's mercy. Bust before he could annihilate Envy and erase him from the face of the world, the lieutenant stepped in and Roy's hatred was further fueled when Ed and Scar arrived, retrieving Envy from them.

Roy was angered at this fact because not only does he have the opportunity to exact Hughes' vengeance, it was ripped away from him.

As Roy protested, Ed and Scar lectured him in although Scar seemed to have no interest in stopping him from taking revenge, he merely told him that he is interested to see what nation will be created should its leader be letting hatred consume him.

This seemed to snap Roy out of his hate-filled vision. And after more intervention from the Lieutenant, he seemed to have calmed down and peace reigned amongst them. Although Envy seemed to have snapped out of his confusion with even more confusion.

It was then that he started scolding the group, saying humans could never work together... Asking why over and over again and this made my hair stand up, driven by my emotional side as I sympathised with my most favorite of all villains in his most desperate hour.

Ed expressed his ideals and beliefs and Envy realized one thing... he is jealous of humans...of their tenacity...of their abilities... of their resilience. To add salt to the injury... he was pitied by humans. Ed pitied him and ENvy realizes that it is the most embarrassing and humiliating way to die.

I nearly cried at this scene. When Envy crawls about, contemplating on his own misery... such powerful destructive negative thoughts that it nearly brought tears into my eyes. And when he reached out inside of him to push out his philosopher's stone, I nearly cried, my heart and chest constricting at the very sight of him crushing his own stone and his body vanishes into nothingness.

And that's one of the most heartbreaking sight I have ever saw. It's not that easy for me to cry and this time, I am affected. My favorite villain, Envy, one who specializes in covert missions, manipulations, deception and stealth...one who enjoys the misery of others and one who's the most laid back of all homonculi and his shapeshifting powers died in one of the most cruelest manner. Being burned over and over again, chased around, burned again, facing a humiliating defeat and finally, unable to bear to pressure took his own life.

Such a sad sight. Envy, I truly grieve your departure. Your overconfidence led to your naivete and in turn, killed you. I am truly sorry for that.

I have no more interest to write the rest. But all that took place is the Central soldiers joining with Armstrong and Alex regaining their strength. The Briggs soldiers, with the help of Ed and Al's teacher, also penetrated the Central Command Center.

While the preview implies another showdown between Hohenheim and the Homonculus, the Dwarf in the Flask.

Next in Hagane No Renkinjutsushi, Fullmetal Alchemist- Episode 55: The Way of the Adults

reychop's Anomaly : Fever + Sore throat = Voice Change | Bloody Hell?

Yesterday, an annoying fever left me confined to my room with no connection to my beloved Internet. While I didn't think too much about it, because the dizziness, the loss of sense of balance and high temperature stabilized within a few hours, new problems arouse when I woke up earlier this morning. It appears that the drug I took (an analgesic known as Biogesic) had no effect and I woke up with an even higher temperature and a new addition- sore throat. It hurts to swallow and I felt dizzy whenever I stand up. Although taking an ibuprofen (alaxan) and sucking on a strepsils lozenge helped my condition, I found yet another problem. Wow, now that's what I call, a chain of reactions, grr...

Following the sore throat, I found out that another voice change occurred in me. And you know what changed? It's the quality, the tone and the pitch. My voice lost the child-like quality and the "sweet" melodic pitch that I liked. And what's worse, it lost its seemingly child-like innocence. I hate it and it affected me mentally.

Although the fever has weakened and I can walk fine again without losing my balance, I am still annoyed at how my voice has changed from my childhood years into a new year of adulthood. Yes, my voice is now rough... and although it's not that deep, it has the quality that reminded me greatly of adulthood and maturity.

The persistent sore throat to remind me of its presence gave me hope that if my sore throat goes away, the change will revert back to my old child-like voice. And right now, I am still in my own world hoping for the best to turn the tables.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Episode 53: Flame of Vengeance | Mustang VS Envy

Wooh... That was a week long time of waiting and it was definitely worth it. Following the recent progress of our favorite faction, the battle continues to rage on. However, amidst the state of emergency and confusion in Central, there are even more events to follow that would start the chain of changes.

Just right before the main event started, a man hurried inside a small cafe, demanding the master (the cafe owner) to open their radio to the global radio broadcast because there's something interesting taking place. After complaining that the station is boring, the master of the cafe finally yielded to the request. Upon turning on the station, they were just in time to hear Mrs. Bradley's interview.

Her confession on air, along with the clever acts from Roy Mustang's band of followers propagated new heights of confusion within the heart of the city as her confession immediately cast Roy Mustang and the troops (The Briggs) in the lighter shade of the people's view. As they continued their act, the central, of course, having heard the broadcast that could throw them in the people's negative impression, called and demanded to stop the broadcast.

However, it would appear that the station's manager is more interested in the story and thus, with his clever acting prevented further communication from the Central Forces.

Meanwhile, the soldiers of the Central Command Center are getting desperate. Add the arrival of a tank from Mustang's faction and the scales of battle was tipped in favor of the now cleared up "rebel forces". It would appear that after Mrs. Bradley's interview, the now started believing that the Central Administration are the ones staging the rebellion against the fuhrer. Now that's a surprising turn of events.

In another side of the story, just as Ed, Scar and the two Chimera were slowly losing against the Immortal Legion, Col. Mustang and his trusty assistant arrived at the scene. Using his skills as a Flame Alchemist, he easily burned through the Immortal Legion, clearing the area of any hostile beings.

However, they cannot afford to relax just yet. For May, after being chased far enough by Envy, managed to cause Homonculus to fall into the area where Ed, Scar, Mustang and the rest are currently stopping. After Scar scolded May for not returning to her country, they are made to confront the newly resurrected Envy.

Envy's lovable character truly shone through this episode- Sadistic, Sarcastic and Playful, a soul filled with uncaring freedom and liberating mirth. He toyed around with Mustang and the group, igniting a flame of hatred within the corner when he finally revealed that it was him who killed Hughes.

Having heard the Homonculus's confession, Roy told the others to go on ahead. Edward is hesitant, but with a little push from "Gori-san", they were on their way.

Of course Envy tried to stop them. But with what Roy dubbed as his "pinpoint targeting", he was able to ignite any part of Envy's body. And this time, he burned first Envy's tongue before starting what I assume as the central focus of this story "Flame of Vengeance". Let me take a moment though to send my best regards for Envy. I knew he is going to get the beating of his life from here on.

As what Scar commented when Ed asked him, Roy has already started the same path that consumed the Ishvalan- The path of Vengeance.

The next episode promises more confrontation between Envy and Mustang. As the vengeance for Hughes' death begins, can the group go on and stop the "Father's" plans? Or will Amestris fall to the grand plan of transmutation? Let's all tune in for the next Episode.

Episode 54: Beyond the Inferno... And so the battle begins...

The Little Things We Ignored - What if our parents cease to exist?

I was able to watch an episode of some show in ABS-CBN. I think it was MMK18 or something. I am not really familiar with these titles. But the show that I was able to watched this night (although it's pretty late and my eyes are starting to sting and drop) awakened a thought inside me and I must admit, it did tug at some heart strings.

The story is about a girl, who is pampered by her so called "ninong" or godfather. All the emotional ups and downs of a typical teenage girl, she went through with her godfather. The only thing that differentiated her from others is that she has no father. And for this, she always "pestered" her mother to at least provide her with the knowledge of the identity of her real father. But time and time again, the request was denied. I am not going to give a detailed summary because I didn't really focused much on the storyline. I was reading various article from my laptop so my attention is divided. In the end however, her godfather died and it was this moment that the truth was revealed.

In all reality, her godfather is actually her real father and the identity is hidden because her father has a family. Tragic, indeed. And in the end, she grew up from her immature pampered self into an independent girl that no longer depends on her godfather.

The episode has a lot of lessons to teach. And perhaps, the most prominent thing that I noticed about it, is... how we often take things for granted. I being a semi-spoiled child by my mother never turned a head to family matters. And I realized now that I am living in my own bubble of space. I ignored mama's needs and I ignored papa's needs. But most of all, I ignored my younger brother's needs.

It's always about me, my needs and my space. And I, as a teenager has finally gave into this so called wake up call. We are so accustomed to having our important people close to us that we fail to take into accounts the what ifs that the future may bring.

"What if they weren't there anymore?"

That is the most important question that we must face. And with maturity, we must evolve ourselves to a better person by looking back into the past and assessing our actions as well as their direct consequences. Then we must reform ourselves and start savoring the moment when we are with our families. Because it is in this moment that we are truly at home.

As most say, a house can never be a home if there's nothing to look forward to there. Since "the heart is where your home is", your important people should always be treasured within our hearts- our homes.

This realization made me want to give myself a torturous punishment. I have been blind to other people's needs and I have become selfish. Change is needed and this time, I will not break a promise.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Episode 52: Combined Powers - The Action Heats Up!

Finally, I am prompt and on time for today's replay and I was able to watch the anime latest episode without any problems at all. Well, except that my younger brother has already "Taken" control of the master's bedroom television remote control and I was forced to use my father's TV with smaller monitor. Anyway, I was excited that Lunch didn't get in the way because we started a bit early.

I must say that the new episode started out rather heated. Taking off from last week's episode, Alphonse's battle with Pride and Kimblee continued. Using the dust cloud strategy, and utilizing the philosopher's stone that Heinkel gave him, Al was able to gain the upper hand of the battle. However, Kimblee strike him back. After successfully imprisoning Pride in another Dome, Kimblee was forced to reveal his own stone to free Homonculus.

As the battle goes on. The scene shifted back to Olivier and Armstrong's fight with Sloth. And although the lazy homonculus is significantly stronger than the two of them combined, Alex strength and Olivier's calm demeanor were able to last them while they battle.

Meanwhile, Mustang and his men were able to penetrate the military checkpoints by altering the appearance of their ice cream truck through alchemy. I am quite err...appalled by the military's ignorance. They could just easily switch car and they won't necessary have to restrict their look out for ice cream trucks. The degree of their security seems low to me.

Anyway, back to May, she eventually was forced to face Envy but in the end, the obvious difference in their skill and ability forced her to run away. When she faced the dummies again, the thought of immortality once again awakened within her and the lust for immortality shifted to the lust for the philosopher's stone.

While Alphonse was clearly winning, he was easily caught by Pride due to his sense of "smell" which he acquired from Gluttony. And I have to say this now that Pride is actually the only "cannibal" among Homonculi. Gluttony might be a glutton for food, but PRIDE held no hesitation against eating his own kind as evidenced by his statement about the Homonculus being one and coming from one origin.

However, Pride's success was without shortcoming as Kimblee was defeated by Heinkel, now renewed by Marcoh and the stone. Al's faction, despite their winning streak seems to be at odds against' Pride's strength. And it appears that the newly arrived Marcoh is endangered of Pride's tentacles. However, he was saved by woah, surprise it's Yoki-san! Yup, the corrupt military man we all loved to hate and throw comedic scenes us has just proved himself hero of the day.

And of course, after all their escape, Pride couldn't simply resist his new "glutton" side by eating up Kimblee.

Back in Central, after their temporary victory against Sloth, The Armstrong Siblings were faced with the central forces and their officer. While Olivier was about to get executed, Alex argued that he still have to inherit the mansion. While Olivier retorted that Mustang is the new owner if ever she dies, an argument, in a rather light hearted way, commenced.

While they were arguing, a series of gunfire prevented the execution and after a guard from outside fell, the dummies entered. Although Olivier was insulted when the officer of Central compared the zombie-like dummies to Briggs Soldiers, Sloth seemingly recovered and the Central forces are faced with two new choices- to Kill the Armstrong and fall prey to the monsters or Join up with the Armstrongs and have a chance at winning.

As their problems grew more and more rapid, another grave problem faced the infiltrating party headed by Ed and Scar. The endless waves of the soul-infused dummies tired them out. The boar like chimera complained that he's running out of quills/pins (yuck) and the pig-like chimera complained of his spit/saliva drying up (ew), and Ed himself seems to be having trouble physically, and emotionally as he is seemingly reluctant to terminate these tortured and agonized souls.

Just as the situation became desperate, a new hero arrives. And Col. Mustang is here to save the day.

The next episode shows promise for even more action. As Envy was restored to his former glory, new problems arise. Will the quest to save Amestris ever end? Next on Hagane no Renkinjutsushi/ Full Metal Alchemist : Episode 53 : Flame of Vengeance! Let's all watch and subject ourselves deeper into the world of ALCHEMY.

New Addiction: Dried Mangoes Anyone?

Hehehe. So a few days ago when we were searching for my boarding house in Davao, we bought two boxes of dried mango. It is rather expensive, around 119 PHP per box. However, when I gave samples to my tongue, I could never forget that instance. Yes, it's an instant craving! And I haven't had this kind of craving ever since my marshmallow cravings died down. And now, my tongue obviously has taken a liking to dried mango. I could suck and chew on it forever and I think I would never get bored of it.

Well, I think that's enough for now. Typing and thinking about it will only make my mouth water. XD I do hope I'll be turned off of it quickly as the price is something that I would not allow to eat away at my allowance. Hehe.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Episode 51: Legion of Immortals- New Songs ENVY'S RESURRECTION!!!

Tormented...In pain...Stuck in a twisted nightmare of never ending torment...Souls that are trapped in a foreign body... Fullmetal Alchemist is pushing to the main action in hyperdrive. General Olivier betrays, her brother assists...Pride escapes and Kimblee battles... More and more events are starting to bring us into the culmination of everything as our main band of characters get closer and closer to their end goals.

I am actually glad that I was able to watch the replay this Monday. Power resumed in 12 noon... an impeccable timing. And I must say, Arigatou, ASELCO-tachi da yo! You have done a perfect job with the time. Last Saturday, I forgot to watch and then you made the perfect timing to resume the flow of electric current that enabled me to watch this exciting replay. Although you're a bit late for the last episode's replay, I did watched the latest from the beginning and I'm content with that.

Anyway, formalities aside, Fullmetal Alchemist 2 is going deeper and deeper into the main plot.

While Ed and his team tried to open the door to "Father's" place, a general wanted to activate the experimental soul bonding techniques, that would theoretically produce what they would call, the Immortal Legion or Legion of Immortals (whichever you prefer). However, instead of the expected "obedient and subdued" servants, the experimental subjects and specimens broke out like mindless zombies and attacked the general, and the scientist. Later, they were able to escape the mini-Lab and engaged with Ed and his team.

Meanwhile, as Olivier attempts her sabotage of the main Amestrian Administration, in hopes to convince the generals and high officials to withdraw their engaging forces, Sloth appears. The latest Homonculus, with the order "to kill the female general", attacked Olivier with her hostage. This broke the peace within the admin building, the palace and war with Sloth started.

At the same time, May was trying to escape from the "zombified" experiments. However, the glass jar that contained Envy was caught with one of the possessed dummy and while Envy appears to be eaten by the dummy, it was actually an opportunity for him to take on a new host and thus, Envy, my favorite Homonculus, was resurrected right before our very eyes! Yup yup! Let us take this moment to celebrate! Omedetto Gozaimasu Envy-san! Itsumo Itsumo Ganbare yo! Nya! XD

This episode also revealed Pride's escape from Hohenheim's prison dome because what Alphones thought to be "Selim playing with my head/helmet" is actually a process of sending out a type of military communication that signaled the location. This led Kimblee to free Selim/Pride and thus new problems appeared for our heroes.

The scene shifted a lot to many instances, showing each progress and experiences of our heroes. However, the episode ended when Heinkeil presented the Philosopher's Stone to Al to save themselves. While Al is hesitant, Heinkeil told him that they are taking into account that the stone is made of human lives and these souls wanted to fight as well. Convinced, Al used the stone to repair his body and thus their chances of victory increased.

Next chapter shows even more promise. As fight intensified, more information will be released. Let us tune in for Episode 51: Combined Powers.

Oh and I almost forgot, new songs yet again started and ended the episode.

OP Title, Rain by SID and ED title: Ray of Light by Shouku Nakagawa. You can now download them from: http://gendou.com/amusic/?filter=Fullmetal+Alchemist+2

The tone has not yet grown into me, but the lyrics and their meaning is more than enough for me to fall in love with the new song. Err... As always Fullmetal has a lot of good songs so I can't really comment now can I? Hehehe. Well, it's been a good 30-minute watch. I'll be waiting for the next episode that will surely bring us even deeper to the world of "Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood!"

Last Day In Mount Carmel? Ouch... Let me say "good bye" to the dog first...Please?

This morning, I was able to go with mama to visit the school just in case the requirements for enrollment is up for release. These requirements include: I.D, Good Moral Certification, Form 138 or the High School Card. However, the school principal hasn't arrived yet when we made it into the school.

To pass the time, I decided to look for my little friend... the black doggy which until now, I still don't know the name because, well, dogs can's speak can they? And thus correct and deliberate introduction can and could never would have taken place during our constant company during my time as high school student. Anyway, first, in case you have forgotten, allow me to repost the photo of that dog.

Image: My Best Friend and I

Now that we have reacquainted ourselves with the basics, let me retell the story. While I was looking for the dog, I found sir Vergara and thus my attention was diverted. Spending at least an hour for our school paper, I typed on the school's faculty lounge. And while I'm typing, the dog found me instead. Thus, I sped up my work because I wanted to play with her.

Although our time was cut short because it is nearly lunch time and mama and I have to go back home, I was able to return this afternoon because the documents and materials described above was not yet available.

By the afternoon, I was able to return and collect the complete requirements for the university that I will be enrolling myself to by tomorrow. If this ever becomes as successful as planned, it got me thinking. I wasn't able to say goodbye to her yet and that's the sad thing about it. And this post will stay in this journal for as long as this journal stays alive in the world wide web.

Nevertheless, I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will be, guided by fate and time, meeting each other in the near future. As a side note, I was just thinking that this is actually the last day that I will be setting a foot on my alma mater. Hopefully, I am wrong in this assumption. But anyway, I am just wanting to reassure myself that what I have in Mount Carmel that I left here will not haunt to distract me in my future development.

These new features have been announced for quite sometimes and I wasn't really into blogger now that I am quite.... well-engaged into a more private and enclosed journal environment. However, the blogger team opened up new potential for professionalism with their new features assigned and implemented right from Blogger Drafts and I must say, I like the new features.

The first feature is the static pages and another one is for the new templates. The new templates are not that bad, too. Although, they could use a little work.

Nevertheless, I'm going to make a new blog there that will hopefully (If I'm not too lazy and preoccupied), be filled with my new life in college which will open this coming June.

The new url: bonggangkolehiyo.blogspot.com (name still experimental) will make a new home for my thoughts, experiences and learning in the bigger arena of life. But of course, my livejournal will always be, my private and personal journal. My unorganized thoughts will always be present here for future references.

Revival from inactivity

Since graduating, I have been very sluggish... inactive... seemingly unaware of my surroundings. Even now, I am still hunting for the source of such feeling of banal existence and indecipherable mood changes. These rendered me uncertain and unable to think straight. The power outage last night is a good step that wakened me from my daydream.

The outcome of this soul searching is my new story "Faerie Lake" which can be found in my fanfiction.net/~reychop . And since this has exercised my mind for a bit, I am thinking of revisiting my fictionpress.com account to see if I can get my mind to work more. It wouldn't be good if I stay in a hazy cloud forever.

So, perhaps, this will be the day that will change my ways of dealing with things. Hopefully, I will be successful in this endeavor.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood: Far From The End

Anyway, episode 50 opens up to a rather action-filled scene where Mrs Bradley, now under custody of Roy Mustang and his followers discovered that she's dispensable and that the country doesn't care for her at all. Mix the confusion at Central where the Briggs soldier got past through the defenses by hiding in the Armstrong mansion, a battle emerged right at the center location of Central Division.

Add Olivier's apparent betrayal within the ranks of Central Administration, and the Central Division is in utter confusion. While Ed and his group were able to finalize their plans, they began their journey to the underground through the 3rd Laboratory. Just as victory draws near, the impatient leader amongst the Central Army unleashed the experimental dummies infused with human souls.

Regardless of what the current situation might imply, the series has still long ways to go as the final showdown between the group and the Evil behind all is still postponed. Envy is still on the loose, and there are still many things left unanswered. Nevertheless, it doesn't change the fact that I nearly skipped lunch just to watch this and I am shaking with excitement throughout the entire episode.

Weekly Update -> New Laptop New University New Life

Right after graduation, that was Wednesday, March 24,2010, we immediately went to Davao City to see the campus of UP and Ateneo and immediately, I was turned off by the state of UP. It is too far from the city and the transportation method is not good. However, when we went to Ateneo, I was immediately won over by it. Now, I was talking about how I hate it being a Catholic school but now, I was immediately convinced to stay four of my college years here.

Why? Because major malls are just walking distances from the campus. Not to mention that the campus is big and has good facilities. All in all, I liked the atmosphere. In this day, father bought me his present, an ASUS laptop. I'll be uploading a picture of it soon.

Anyway, we went in to reschedule my examination, because it was originally scheduled in April 6. This leads us to another one of our adventures in Davao City.

Today, March 26, we attendeded the entrance examination for Ateneo. It was a four hour exam consisting of four consecutive and different types of exam. Although it's not that difficult, it's truly not an easy day. But of course, the bad thing about this is, we left at noon time, arriving at home at 4 in the afternoon.

Still, it was an experience to remember.

Shortened version : Welcome Address for Graduation Day

To our ever supportive and honorable DepEd representatives, to our inventive and resourceful staffs of Mount Carmel College, teachers, spectators, friends, ladies and gentlemen, my fellow graduands, a warm and productive morn to all.

A momentous occasion for every high school student's life is naturally, his graduation day, and the most memorable one I might add. It is the height of his success, the product of his sweat and blood, as well as the many sleepless nights of anticipation and preparation for the daily challenges that life has to offer. It streams not from any other third party sources but it is an achievement that comes from within. It signifies maturity, the ability to cross multitudes of obstacles and reach a goal of unprecedented possibility.

It is in this moment that his long, tiresome journey of oppressive studies, laborious projects, irritating homework, uncomfortable atmosphere, moody teachers, unusual tasks, boring lectures, and high school drama culminates into one big fruit of crossroad- a crossroad that presents many opportunities and golden choices. It is a crossroad that marked a milestone of success- a milestone of immense growth and changes. It is an introduction to a broader arena of life- an arena with even bigger challenge to come and bigger ponds to conquer with bigger fishes to oppose.

And for this reason, we have come to this very day in this very place as graduands, awaiting the confirmation to be recognized as a fully equipped graduate whose knowledge and experiences which he gained deemed him responsible and well-capable enough of making it into what we call "The World of the Adults". And this very notion is even more emphasized as we opened our graduation rites with the theme: Carmelite Education, Catapult for Changing Lives, A Catalyst for Future's Success.

The knowledge embedded on us through years in this institution, although inadequate in most aspects are enough to equip us with the most basic of weapons to enable us to fend for ourselves in our lives as adults. And although it doesn't necessarily change our lives totally, it served a crucial role in developing ourselves as adults and as an intelligent individual.

Armed with the basic necessities amongst mental, physical, and emotional development, we can thus fully say that our long and arduous journey has born its fruit of maturity. However, as true seekers of truth and pursuers of knowledge, we must accept that our hunger for knowledge is not yet sated nor is our understanding of the world complete. And thus, we should not let ourselves fall victim to complacency. Let us not be satisfied with these simple knowledge that we have acquired in our years as high school students. We must learn to conquer new worlds and step into a bigger arena- the arena of reality and facing life itself.

As we marched out into the broader world and cast away our toga as meaningful memories, we must realize then that our graduation day is not the end, but a new beginning. And as we come to accept this, we are presented with new choices and thousands of possibilities of what we can become sometime in the future. And although most of us are already brainstorming for all the pleasant things and big things that we can achieve in our future times, let us pause for a few moments and savor this moment.

Pause a little and think back through all the times and all the things that became a catalyst to transform us into who we are now. Let us give time to pat ourselves in the back for the work well done, for the efforts of making it far into this stage of learning. So fellow graduating students, as we proceed into our graduation rites this day, I can only say good luck to all of us and thank you for all the people who helped us reach this level, especially our parents, teachers, relatives and friends. So once again, good luck, good luck, good luck and congratulations!

Welcome Address -> High School Graduation Day

To our ever supportive and honorable DepEd representatives, to our inventive and resourceful staffs of Mount Carmel College, teachers, spectators, friends, ladies and gentlemen, my fellow graduands, a warm and productive morn to all.

First of all, I know how most of us hate long and boring speeches as I myself hated it, so I'm going to cut this short. But do, listen if you may. I may be able to offer insights and valuable knowledge and information to all of you.

A momentous occasion for every high school student's life is naturally, his graduation day. It is the height of his success, the product of his sweat and blood, and the many sleepless nights of anticipation and preparation for the daily challenges that life has to offer. It streams not from any other third party sources but it is an achievement that comes from within. It signifies maturity, the ability to cross multitudes of obstacles and reach a goal of unprecedented possibility.

It is in this moment that his long, tiresome journey of oppressive studies, laborious projects, irritating and pesky homework, uncomfortable atmosphere, moody teachers, unusual tasks, shaky relationships with others, and high school drama culminates into one big fruit of crossroad.

And this very notion is even more emphasized by the theme: Carmelite Education, Catapult for Changing Lives, A Catalyst for Future's Success.

The knowledge embedded on us through years in this institution, although inadequate in most aspects are enough to equip us with the most basic of weapons to enable us to fend for ourselves in our lives as adults. And although it doesn't necessarily change lives because theoretically, there are many more factors involve for changes and a single factor would never affect something without collaborating with other factors to produce dramatic results, but it is enough to give us something to work with to prepare us in becoming the pillars of tomorrow. That's right.

If the knowledge we acquired is used right, we can orchestrate changes that would ultimately serve to unite the interwoven strings of fate into a melodic performance to achieve that bright shining future that most of our ancestors has dreamed but failed to achieve.

But of course, we must realize now, that this graduation day of ours, is nothing but a mere bump in the road. It is a simple pause, a reminder so to say. It is a reminder that in our pursuit for knowledge and self-empowerment, now is the time to think collectively-- and reflect of what we have achieved. Now is the time for bigger decisions and now is the time for independence- independence from self-imposed limitations and irrational fears that will surely pave the way for a straighter road amidst life's unpleasant turbulent and chaotic nature.

We have big plans and ambitious desires, we have to admit that. But don't think even for a moment that just because we have graduated today, that we are already fully prepared. No my dear friends. As I said, this day is nothing but a bump on the road, a simple reminder. The pursuit for knowledge is a lifelong process- a never ending pursuit of enlightenment. Do remember, that what we have acquired in our high school lives are nothing but basic necessities and it is up to us to improvise, to formulate our own strategic plans and to pursue even higher learning.

We must therefore quest for more knowledge. This graduation day that is still to come is nothing but a bump on the road. It is a simple diversion that calls for our attention. And we must treat it as one. And avoid the danger of falling for the trap of complacency.

And that is why in this graduation day, it is the highest and most honorable time to rejoice. For this not only mark our qualifications and maturity as students but it equally imprints an indelible mark of adulthood into the very core of our being. It is a confirmation that we are qualified to conquer bigger arenas and to pursue greater ambitions.

Thus I say so my dear friends, let us not stop gaining knowledge. If we have done all that we could in high school, let us further our study by putting even more effort into our own chosen paths. For our knowledge is yet to grow into true maturity.

But for now, let us sit back, think and reflect. As we go on with our graduation rites today, it is time to gather all that we have learned and think about them. And celebrate for all our efforts in making it into this level. For surely, we would not have achieved a great feat such as this without the wits, the power, the strength, the brains and the dedication that would usher us into further development. So for now, let us congratulate ourselves. And as we enter a bigger arena ahead, whether you choose to proceed to college or start building your own life right away, it's all the same and for all of us, I would like to say

Good Luck, Good Luck, Good Luck, and C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S

Fullmetal Alchemist 2 : Pride's Weakness, and His Surprising Betrayal

Wooh!!! Now this is what I'm talking about. Catching up with the latest episode is simply exhilarating. It gave you a buzzing feeling at the bottom of your stomach that screams for action! And the latest episode : Oath in the Tunnel gave surprising revelations.

First off, Lan Fan is alive! As well as the old man who served the young Master Ling. They helped fight Gluttony and Pride and form strategic plan to trap Pride in a tight situation wherein he have to rely in one of his more sinister tricks. Of course, the shock didn't stop there because as if in desperation, Pride killed his own brother, Gluttony and swallowed him to increase his strength! That struck a chord within everyone's heart.

And of course, Roy Mustang's mother is his very own informant, Madame Christmas! Surprise, surprise! Now I didn't see that one coming.

Anyway, as the promised day came nearer and nearer, we're even filled with more anticipation and as we await the next latest episode, we are left to guess for ourselves how the chapters progress. Happy watching!

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood -> Back on Schedule! | Highlight: Pride's Weakness

Wohoo! I've finally watch the latest episodes of Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood and I must say that I've been on edge of my seat the whole time. It was most exciting and most pleasing to get back on the former schedule.

Although I only caught the replay this Monday, it's still good to know that I haven't been lagging.

And the latest episode all the more made up for the wait that I have to endure with ASELCO's constant power outage because more revelations have been formed and new information is released.

With Pride's weakness revealed, the Fuhrer's train blown up, Alphonse's temporary demise, and the latest appearance of Lan Fan, FMA: Brotherhood have never been more fun.

I really enjoyed the latest episodes and was happy to catch on them. Hopefully, I'll be able to watch the next episodes and so are you. Happy watching to all! ^_^
