Christine Chisholm, the woman who is suing 2 Chainz for $5 million, is claiming the Atlanta rapper ruined her reputation by calling her a “thot.” in a video titled “#isthisyourthot” making fun of her while she was backstage at one of his shows.

Back in March 2014, Christine Chisholm claims that one of 2 Chainz’s friends, Cap 1, invited her backstage but she was instead laughed at and called a “thot,” which means “that hoe over there.”

In the lawsuit, Chisholm said that ever since the video went .....viral, she lost her job at a barbershop because the owner did not want negative attention on his shop. She also said she gets harassed in public and the video has ruined her reputation. The video reportedly had 10 million views two weeks after it was posted.

However, according to reports, Chisholm and her past actions are already contradicting the pristine character she claims to have. Chisholm, 26, was convicted of drunk driving at least twice following DWI incidents that occurred just three months apart in late 2011 and early 2012, according to the

Mecklenburg County Sheriffs Department.
She served 60 days in jail for one conviction, and received a suspended sentence and probation for the second one. In the 2011 incident, she showed cops a fake ID and didn’t bother stopping her car once they put the flashing lights on, according to court records.

The woman was arrested last year for second-degree trespass, and in 2013 was popped for assaulting a public transit operator, shoplifting and violating probation. But that’s not all. Chisholm also has arrests from 2012 for assault urinating or defecating in public, trespassing and driving with a suspended license.

To some members of the Nigerian social media community, Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo is controversial. But the 50-year-old daughter of a former governor of Oyo State, Dr. Victor Omololu-Olunloyo, says Nigerian youths rather misunderstand her and what she does on social media.

While many spend a lot of time criticising her on online, the United States/Canada-trained pharmacist says she earns between $50 and $150 every time she publishes three tweets for her foreign clients who are mainly musical artistes.

In an online interview with The PUNCH, Kemi, who has spent 25 years on social media, says Nigerian youths are missing the commercial side of the platforms because they chose to attack her and others who mean well for the country.

“In a good month, one can make between $2,000 and $5,000 or even more, depending on what one is putting out on each platform,” she says, describing social media as her life.

With good content, she adds, young Nigerian tweeters can monetize their ...

accounts and earn a decent living promoting companies and artistic works. Advising those who hope to key into the “big opportunity”, she urges them to stop using their handles “in a negative way”.

“You may want to open a separate handle and launch it for a business. Twitter is the best avenue for young Nigerians. Look it up. Indonesian teens make between $10 and $20 by tweeting for every small business out there,” she observes.

With millions of Nigerian youths spending several hours each week on soccer, Kemi says sports present huge prospects for those who want to commercialize their passion.

“Nigerian youths can do what Indonesian teens have done monetizing soccer tweets. They spend so much time with soccer. Why not make money on it?” she asks.

While her critics say she is aggressive, Kemi says she is just being assertive. According to her, this is a major trait that drives a successful social media entrepreneurship.

The pharmacist, who spent 37 years in the United States, is just beginning to get positive reviews from a few Nigerians who appreciate her for “being blunt, real and transparent” about all issues affecting the country.

“I have gone after the masses, pastors, politicians, educationists and others. Many Nigerians are silent about the issues they need to be discussing. Many are scared,” she says.

Based on her huge following on MySpace, Kemi claims that the Facebook team contacted her to join the newly established university social network as “beta tester” in February 2004, making her the first Nigerian to sign up on the popular site.

Besides, she says she is among the first Africans in Canada and the US to sign on Twitter, Instagram other social media.

She declares, “In December 2003, Andrew McCollumn contacted me from Facebook in an e-mail saying they were interested in me as I had 100,000 friends on MySpace. I agreed and in February 2004, Facebooklaunched as a university social network. Later in 2006, it rolled out to the public. This event made me the first Nigerian on Facebook. I later joined Instagram October 10, 2010, four days after it was released. By 2011, I joined Pinterest. Currently, I am again a beta tester for the new social network called Ello.”

Kemi, who says she has no regret engaging in social media, notes that all she does now is working on a computer from her Ibadan home to earn money.

She adds, “On Twitter, I aggregate world news and monetize tweets. For example, I have Canadian and American musicians that tweet their music with me. A typical affordable tweet package is three tweets for $50 to $150 per tweet. I tweet their tracks to my followers.

“While abroad, there were companies that hired me to tweet reality shows, award shows and live events. That was very lucrative.”

An apostle of social media monetisation, the former governor’s daughter says she also earns income posting engaging topics on Facebook. Once such topics go virile, according to her, she publishes the comments for her 16 million-view blog – another stream of her online income.

Often, Kemi, who goes after the rich and poor Nigerians, making her position as clear and blunt as possible, insists that she is just being confident.

The social media personality, who this year emerged one of the Social Media Awards Africa finalists in the top influence category, says most of her terms are “Internet acronyms used to shout down bullies who do not want to learn.”

B’Haram fighters plant bombs in Jos church

But for the alertness of a private security guard, hundreds of people would have been killed in the Sunday morning multiple blasts that rocked the Evangelical Church Winning All in Angwan Yanshi of Tudun Wada area of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident came as multiple acts of terror were also recorded around Maiduguri Saturday night.

A bomber detonated his explosives in a bus at a Maiduguri motor park, killing four people including himself. Other blasts targeted the Maiduguri office of the Department of State Security Service. The insurgents were also said to have mounted roadblocks around Damagum and set many vehicles ablaze.

But in the Jos church blast, an eye witness told our correspondent that the church was full to the brim with worshipers who came for the first morning service when one of the bombs went off.

The eyewitness, who gave his name as Garuba, said that after controlling the panicky worshipers, the guard was said to have started combing the premises when he discovered another bomb near the toilet.

The brave guard did not wait to alert anybody as he quickly picked the lethal parcel and threw it over the fence. The parcel exploded spontaneously, missing him just by a whisker. He however sustained minor injuries from the flying shrapnel.

“We discovered that the IED is an anti-tilted device. This means that it was constructed in such a way that it will explode any time it is turned either way by person or object. That was why it exploded immediately the guard picked it up. Our men also combed the area and we discovered the same type of bomb in an abandoned kiosk about 10 meters away,” Mbibi said.

The latest incident came less than a week after suicide bombers attacked the Dilimi mosque in the same Jos North Local Government Area. The ECWA Church in Tudun Wada is located near the Federal Secretariat, very close to the Jos home of Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha. One of the guards in the house told our correspondent that the explosion shook the foundation of the building and others around it.

Speaking on the blasts, the police said no one was killed from the blasts. The Police Public Relations Manager, DSP Emmanuel Abuh, said that the area was thoroughly combed after the blast and there was no further threat.

Meanwhile, a non-governmental organisation, Salvation Army, has donated 250 bags of rice and other relief materials to the Internally Displaced Persons’ camp at Bondon village, Kaura Local Government Area in Southern Kaduna, Kaduna State.

The Coordinator, Mrs. Comfort Adepoju, while presenting the relief material to victims of attacks by gunmen at Bondon village, Kaura LGA, also sought for the establishment of a health centre in the area.

She argued that setting up a health center by the state government would drastically curb mortality rate in the area.

The organisation distributed items such as 240 bags (of 25kg) of rice; some other 10kg bags for each family; packets of magi and salt; vegetable oil (three litres) for each family; cardigans for children as well as 1,750 blankets to help cushion the cold weather.

According to her, the need for the establishment of a health center in the area was necessary considering the magnitude of lives lost due to lack of emergency care for victims of the attacks.

She noted that most of the casualties of the attacks were those who died before being rushed to hospitals in Jos, Plateau State.

“If only there was at least one health center in the area, the situation may have been contained.

“We are told that the nearest hospitals are those in Kafanchan and Jos and these are grossly inadequate.”

She said the NGO had identified 240 families in the area who needed succor that would enable them a meaningful livelihood. She added that the families identified had lost their bread winners to the attacks.

“It is sad to hear that most of these women and children still sleep on bare floor and are exposed to hazards of the weather,” she said.

One of the beneficiaries, Musa Emmanuel, noted that it had been difficult surviving at the camp since the attacks as a result of inadequate foodstuff, bedding and other related items.

Another beneficiary, Victor Didam, said they slept on the bare floor in congested classrooms, adding that it was difficult to come by portable drinking water.

In honor of Mother's Day yesterday, former wrestler turned action hero, The Rock shared a touching story of how he and his mum went through poverty in the past & how they moved forward. He wrote;

'Cool Mother's Day story.. early am flight and I'm sittin' across from my mom when out of the blue she looks around the plane, then looks at me and says "Son, I can't believe the life I have.. grandma and grandpa would be so proud." I asked her, "Are you happy ma?". Just then the flight attendant placed my moms breakfast down on the table and my mom said to me, "Am I happy?.. I used to worry about how I was going to buy groceries for us and now I just had my breakfast placed down in front of me". She bursts into tears and says "Yes, son I couldn't be happier". This is the woman who when I was 14yrs old we were evicted out of our apartment in Hawaii 'cause we couldn't afford the $180 per week rent.
At this moment I'm shaking my head and smiling quietly (as my mom blows her nose;) 'cause she just told me she's happy. And y'all know when our parents tell us they're happy, its so satisfying for us, 'cause it means we've done a good job for them as their kids.

OJB's kidney reportedly collapses again

Popular Nigerian music producer and singer, Babatunde Okungbowa popularly known as OJB is reportedly on admission at the General Hospital, Lagos following a relapse of his kidney ailment.

OJB, who had a successful kidney transplant in India last year, had a relapse two weeks ago, this is according to a report by Yes! International magazine.

A source at the hospital who spoke to the magazine said

"The medical experts who attended to OJB at the Lagos Hospital were shocked at the sudden relapse despite last year's successful kidney transplant. They chided him for not going back.... to India for post-surgery check-ups as specified by the team of Indian doctors in the medical report given to him".

When contacted, his third wife, Korede said

"I don't want to say anything about it unless he talks about it himself. Have you called him? Because I have not seen the story and he has even warned me about it. So please I don't want to have anything to do with it unless he talks about it himself. He warned me and I have to respect and obey my husband" she said

His first wife, Mabel donated one of her kidneys to him last year and he was believed to be doing well until this recent development.

Several years after the news and off the scene, Kehinde Young-Harry settles in as a proud grandmother who takes delight in watching her grand children evolve.

You have been out of broadcasting for a long time now.

Do you miss broadcasting? What do you miss most?

It was a conscious effort by me to retire. I went into voluntary retirement. I chose to go because there were more things happening in my life which I wanted to devote more of my time to.

How do you spend your days now? What do you do?

I take care of my grand children. I do the school runs, take them to parties, have their friends’ over and they also go over to their friends’. It’s just generally seeing them evolve. It keeps me young and energetic. It also gives my daughter and her husband time for themselves because we live in a society where marriages are like two a penny; people don’t really care about their family. The wife is doing her thing, the husband is doing his thing and they meet when they have to. There is no family time; children are left with the nannies to look after. Nannies and drivers are the
only adult presence in their lives.

I didn't do that to my two daughters. I am rather opinionated; I want my children to know what their values should be. And I think that I know that after being on this earth for this long, I should know what a child should be like at different stages of his or her life and I want to be a part of that. It is exciting.

What was it like, in your time, coping with motherhood and balancing family life and career?

It was not easy but I had a wonderful mother, so I wasn't plagued with the feeling that I was ignoring my children while they were growing up. My mother was a gem, a real diamond. I couldn't have asked for a better support. She made it easy; I could do my job, concentrate on my job and still be with my kids. No matter how much you pay nannies, no matter how good you are to them, the gap is still there; because, they are not a part of your family. What they do is what you asked them to do. A lot of them don’t put that extra effort into it.

Your girls have somehow followed in your footsteps. Did you in anyway influence them?....

I don’t think I asked anyone to; neither of them studied Journalism. They studied Law and the older one studied Law up till Masters level. I think that they just saw me over the years and took an interest. There was never anytime I said they should go into broadcasting.

Having said that, I am very proud of what they are doing. They are two very young, savvy ladies. I am proud of them; not just because of the work they are doing now but, how they turned out – the values and all that they imbibed over the years.

If you compare your days in broadcasting and now,would you say there was more professionalism and appeal of the news and newscaster then than now?

Definitely! It has become an all-comers affair now. People are not specifically trained in what they are doing. Everybody thinks they have an idea of what they want to do or they think they have a flair for it. But even when you have an idea and you have flair, you still need the basic things like how to sit in front of a camera and how to speak. You are not supposed to sound like an Englishman. You have to sound Nigerian so that your audiences that are Nigerians can understand and relate to you. You don’t have to put up an accent before you are seen as a professional. In our days, that wasn't the case. You are proud to be who you are. Now, you hear all kinds of accents and because it is not their real accents, the underlining accent is still there; because, the person cannot pronounce the word correctly. There is a lot of that. I call them the DSTV generation. Everything that they watch on DSTV is right and good; nobody cares about anything.

Again, TV stations have to talk to presenters to play it down. I think people just make fools of themselves faking an accent that is not real and once in a while, they flip and the viewers notice. You can do a very good job, an exemplary job, being who you are; you don’t have to try to be someone else. Why is it that the British man is not trying to be a Nigerian and the American is not trying to be a Nigerian?

What do you think about the ‘Walk the Talk’ show hosted by your daughters?

I think it is lovely, never mind me; it is not because I know them or I am involved with them. Far from it. The program-me is educative, entertaining and informative. In one of the episodes, a fitness expert instructed people how to do some martial arts. I watched that particular episode with my son in-law and I noticed he tried to do the same thing the guest was doing because, he was so engrossed in it. When people talk about the program me, they say it touches something in the lives of people. They can relate with it. This first season has been self-sponsored by both of them. They are looking for sponsors. I believe with the way they are going, people are going to come in soon. I see a lot of shows on television; I am not trying to belittle anybody’s effort, but you will have to work extra hard to get to standard or be on the same level. Technically, the editorial content and the substance, generally, can pass anywhere in the world. That is one of the feedback. While it is on Channels TV, people abroad can also watch because it is actually streamed on Facebook and YouTube live. The feedback has been great. Nigeria is joining the rest of the world; our children are coming up. Unfortunately in Nigeria, people don’t give young people a chance. But outside the country, they go to the universities to pick up best brains which they nurture.

What was growing up like for you. Can you relive some of your childhood memories?
I was born and raised in Lagos. I went to Holy Child College at Obalande. Usually, on Saturdays, we used to go to either the Military Hospital on Awolowo Road or the General Hospital on Broad Street to perform what we call civic duty’; to generally keep the patients company. It was a norm, because it was a Catholic girls’ school and they taught us how to care for other people, how to show interest in your neighbors. They taught us all of those values that people need while growing up; like volunteering and I wish they could bring that back into our system. This generation of I, I and me alone is worrisome.

Look at the religious groups in the country now. I don’t remember anything like this growing up. We were Christians growing up; nobody made a song and dance out of it. Nobody cared whether you went to church or not; the most important thing was your heart. There was a lot of contentment; people were happy – all the envy and the ‘bad belly’ you see around was not as pronounced as it is now.

Talking about religious issues, nowadays, I hear friends that I grew up with come up with such things like during Sallah, they can’t eat Sallah meat; it is unclean meat. In those days, it didn't matter because in the same family in Lagos, you had both Christians and Muslims. You celebrate Christmas just as you celebrate Sallah. Suddenly, everything changed. When you go abroad, they treat you in some way because you are Black, they are White. And here, you treat your fellow man wrongly just because he is not from the same religion or tribe. What is going on? We were never like that. I don’t know about other parts of Nigeria. I was born and raised in Lagos and there really wasn't any discrimination like that; it was a very happy childhood. My father was a broadcaster as well, Sunday Young-Harry.

He worked with Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation which is now FRCN. And that influenced your choice of career?
Yes, it did. Because after school, they dropped us at Broadcasting House and I watched him and his colleagues do their thing. For me, that was where it all started and I couldn’t think of doing anything else.

You must have a sister/friend relationship with your children. Have there been times when you needed to put your foot down and be Mom rather than sister/friend?

We are friends now. We are very good friends; people say unusually so. We are friends first and foremost and the mother thing comes in if I have to.

What is your style now? How much has changed since you became a grandma?
More than anything else, comfort is key. For my fashion, I love kaftans a lot. If I am going to weddings, I tie my gele and I really enjoy that, I have to say. Casually, I still wear my jeans, especially when I am with my grandchildren. For me, first and foremost, comfort is important. I try and go with the flow. I try to keep young at heart which is very important.

How do you spend your ‘me time’?

I read a lot. My mother instilled that in me and my late twin brother; she ensured that we read our books. Books expand your English and take you to places you have never been. They expose your mind to possibilities and, good enough, I did the same thing with my girls. I like to read a lot. Sometimes, I watch television. Most times, we hang out, go to functions, go to parties a lot. All my friends have daughters that are getting married or doing something and we have to show support. I thank God who has been faithful. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

What is your advice to young women who look up to you as a role model?
That word has been abused. My advice to them is to be themselves; don’t pretend to be who you are not. Live the kind of life you will be proud of in your quiet moment. Do not because your colleagues are doing this, wearing that, you want to do the same. All fingers are not equal. First impression counts. Let who you are speak for you. Know what you are after, what you want in life and you go for it. Be the best you can be and nobody else.

You used to wear your hair in braids. Why did you choose dreads now?
I have always done my hair natural, even with the braids; this is twist as opposed to braids. I wanted something that is ready to wear and ready to go without any fuss. Once I wash, I lock it back myself. I am a no-fuss kind of person; I believe in the natural look. I have always done that.

More Ways to Beat the Heat

The effect of the hot sun is beginning to tell on a lot of Nigerians; preventing many from getting outdoors and inhibiting activities. Here are some ways to beat the harsh effect of the rays and stay healthy and hydrated.

Dehydration is inevitable with the way the sun is blazing. Drink plenty of water and always keep a bottle nearby to quench that thirst.

It is advised to drink at least eight cups of water a day. But with this sun, you need to help yourself to more cups. Drink water before, during and after physical activity.

I have been married for five years and have two boys. I am still the way I was before child-bearing. My shape and slim looks are still intact and many people who don’t know still see me as a hot spinster and I always tell the guys that I’m happily married and they should stay off. But an important issue is shaking the foundations of my marriage.

My husband has had little or no interest in sex ...

for about a year. I have tried to find out why he suddenly lost interest in sex but he is not forthcoming. We have a good relationship apart from this problem but I cannot remain like this for long. I have done all kinds of things to seduce him. I've tried lingerie, back rubs, and romantic dinners, but nothing works. I don’t know what else to do. Please help me.

Before? Unfortunately, that's how some people are. They are only around you for what they can get, but as soon you are no longer in the position to be of help to them, they are gone. President Jonathan, during his Thanksgiving farewell service yesterday told his audience that he's been abandoned by people who he once considered friends.

He thanked his ministers for having served him well and wished them the best in future endeavors.

But we are happy the ordinary people appreciate what we did and that is the most important. It’s not what the elite or the privileged few talk or say about you but what the majority of the Nigerian public think about your actions and inaction that matter.

Really been thinking about this zoning thing since this APC drama on it and wondering why we have allowed this to eat so deep into our system that at every quarter, it always raises its head. To think that the Change agents everyone has been clamoring about are back to the same issue of zoning formulas and reports have it that it is fast wreaking havoc is a high. It makes me wonder why zone in the first place?

The 360 states in the house of assembly, is it not enough representation for any quarter of the nation. Why do we need to complicate issues further because one would have thought the primary concern when it comes to appointment should be competence? We have tried this zoning thing over and again but what better has it done us because I hear someone say... it helps to foster unity and participation.

I think the divides are more obvious now with this whole zoning thingy than it was with our founding fathers. I'm probably going to rest this argument by drawing this analogy; Take a look at our team called Super Eagles! Has anybody ever asked that positions in our football team be distributed across zones, or that the position of the captain, or coach for that matter, be rotated between North and South, etc? That I think is clearly because everyone is more interested in the team winning. I ask myself why do we want this win so badly? What is the price at stake? A piece of metal called trophy I suppose.

How about the Struggle to alleviate poverty staring at our face? How about the fight to educate millions of Almajiri? How about the fight to eradicate polio and reduce maternal mortality to negligible numbers? How about the fight to increase power generation seven fold by 2020? We have so much more at stake in these fights that the Super Eagle will ever have yet we let something as flippant as zoning take the Center stage over competence. So, how is it we can demand that the coach pick out best 23 for the World Cup, and yet tolerate less in our Government? I hope posterity does not judge us for our lack of objectivity and sentiments instead.
