That's probably one of the things I find most interesting about my own clean-energy journey. I didn't suddenly discover something that wasn't there before.

I simply started noticing things that had been around me all along.

Solar, wind, and water are perhaps the easiest clean-energy sources for us to visualize, but they aren't the only ones.

The Philippines also has geothermal energy, which makes use of heat from beneath the Earth's surface.

My husband has visited the Makiling-Banahaw (Mak-Ban) Geothermal Power Plant as part of one of his work assignments.

Again, this is something I probably wouldn't have thought much about if I hadn't encountered it through him.

But it made me realize just how many energy resources exist around us.

We have sunlight. We have wind. We have water. We have power underneath the ground.

That's why I don't think the country's clean-energy story is about one source replacing everything else.

It is about having a mix.
