Dave Dicke — Wed, 12 Aug 2015 19:40:58 +0000

And before you ask, the Sponge Bob hats were Theis’ idea of celebrating his return to the show and Power Play fantasy challenge victory.

Sports Buzz: Vikings as playoff team edition

Dave Dicke — Tue, 04 Aug 2015 21:41:25 +0000

Sal rounded up the usual suspects to review the winners and losers of baseball’s trade deadline, where the Twins and Brewers are positioned as a result and even touched on whether the Vikings are a playoff team, which running backs can be trusted for your upcoming fantasy football draft and dabbled in the dumbest athlete any have ever seen (think Nate Newton’s trunk).

And, oh-by-the-way, Theis managed to win his first week in the Power Play fantasy baseball challenge more than four months into the season. Hey, congratulations, ~~Rick!~~ Theis!

All that said, don’t forget to tune in for a brand new episode of The Sports Buzz Wednesday through Saturday at 5:30 p.m. only on TV 25!

Sports Buzz: Trade deadline edition

Dave Dicke — Wed, 29 Jul 2015 18:54:19 +0000

Let’s just say there were some disagreements.

Sal and the panelists pondered first-half MVP and Cy Youngs, whether the Twins would in fact make the playoffs this season and Ty even tackled the debate that has been the buzz of the baseball nation the past several weeks — Royals fans voting for their own players.

There were some laughs sprinkled with good points and good times as the discussion raged on.

Be sure to tune in at 5:30 p.m. this afternoon as well replays at the same time Thursday through Saturday only on TV 25!

Sports Buzz: #VoteDozier edition

Dave Dicke — Wed, 08 Jul 2015 15:05:51 +0000

The panel had a sit down to discuss the debacle of Major League Baseball’s All-Star voting, and made quite a push for Minnesota Twins second baseman Brian Dozier to be the final American League player chosen for the midsummer classic.

Along the way, the U.S. women winning the World Cup and Serena Williams’ dominance at 33 were sprinkled in between Rant and Dumpster Fire of the Week.

Sports Buzz podcast: Buxton arrives edition

Dave Dicke — Wed, 17 Jun 2015 19:50:20 +0000

The Sports Buzz’s resident member of Stark Industries had to sit it out for the first time in over a year, and Paul Van Beek couldn’t make it either, which meant host Justin Barrientos had some new blood on the panel.

HBC Sports’ Victoria Larson sat in with Sal, Ty and Landon Evanson to talk the NBA Finals, Chicago’s third Stanley Cup in six years, Byron Buxton’s first few games as a Twin and what that means to the organization and even touched on what each would do if given the opportunity to spend a day with Lord Stanley.

Sports Buzz: One Year Anniversary edition

Dave Dicke — Wed, 10 Jun 2015 14:07:50 +0000

Lend an ear as the panel touches on the greatness of LeBron James in this NBA Finals, whether they’d rather have Joe Mauer or Ryan Braun the rest of this season and even the athlete whom they feel made the best cameo on a television show.

No one on the show is Keith Hernandez (though we may have a chucker or two), but it’s the One Year Annivesary show, and they sure are tryin’!

And be sure to tune in for the show at 5:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday only on TV 25.
