The Insta360 Snap is a clever new magnetic accessory designed to let you take rear camera selfies.

By adding a dedicated, high-resolution preview screen to the back of your device, it solves the dilemma of choosing between the superior sensors of the primary camera and the convenience of the front-facing “selfie” screen.

The device operates through a seamless blend of magnetic mounting and wired data transfer to eliminate the lag common with wireless monitors. Utilizing Apple’s MagSafe technology (or an included magnetic sticker for Android users), the Snap clips securely onto the rear of the smartphone.

It then connects via an integrated USB-C cable to the phone’s charging port, acting as an external monitor that mirrors the camera’s viewfinder in real-time. This setup allows creators to frame shots perfectly while taking full advantage of the 50-megapixel primary or telephoto lenses found on modern flagship phones.

Beyond its role as a simple mirror, the Snap includes tactile controls that interface directly with the phone via the Insta360 app. A dedicated physical shutter button allows for easier one-handed operation, while a versatile scroll wheel on the side can be custom-mapped to control zoom levels or exposure compensation.

The device also features a built-in cold shoe mount on the top, enabling users to attach external microphones or LED lights to create a professional-grade mobile rig. Despite this robust feature set, the Snap is remarkably slim, intended to stay on the phone throughout the day without adding significant bulk to your pocket.

Launched this week, the Insta360 Snap is priced at £89/$99/AU$149. While basic clip-on mirrors exist for a fraction of the cost, Insta360 is betting that creators will pay a premium for a high-brightness digital display and integrated hardware controls. For those who have already invested heavily in the latest iPhone or Samsung Galaxy, the Snap offers a relatively affordable way to finally unlock the full potential of their device’s most powerful camera sensors for self-filmed content.

Solar farms in England, Wales and Scotland generated 14.1GW of low-carbon electricity at lunchtime on Monday, surpassing the previous high of 14GW in July last year. And that record was toppled a day later when power generation from the sun’s energy climbed to another new high of 14.4GW on Tuesday afternoon. The electricity system operator confirmed the new high as the government approved plans for the UK’s biggest solar farm to go ahead in Lincolnshire. The Guardian

Alinto, a prominent French email solutions provider, has accidentally exposed tens of millions of records belonging to major global corporations and French government agencies.

The leak, first discovered and reported by researchers at Cybernews, has raised significant concerns over the security of enterprise email traffic and the potential for sophisticated social engineering attacks.

The breach centres on a public Elasticsearch cluster containing approximately 40 million SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) records. According to the Cybernews investigation, the server hosting the leaked data was also running an SMTP server under Cleanmail.eu, Alinto’s flagship email security relay solution.

While the leaked database did not contain the actual body content of the emails, it provided a granular, high-definition map of communication metadata. This included sender and recipient email addresses, precise timestamps, relay IP addresses and location details. Of the 40 million records analyzed, researchers identified at least 4.5 million unique email addresses.

Security experts warn that even without message contents, this metadata is “gold dust” for cybercriminals. By analyzing sender and recipient patterns, attackers can perform highly targeted social engineering. “Large email data leaks invite social engineering attacks against exposed organizations,” the Cybernews team warned

By cross-referencing names found in the leaked addresses with professional networking sites, attackers can identify high-value targets with elevated system access. This allows for “spear-phishing” campaigns that are far more convincing, as an attacker can accurately impersonate a known contact, referencing specific times and relay points to bypass a victim’s natural suspicion.

Alinto is a major player in the European “clean mail” space, claiming to process 100 million emails daily with a specific focus on high-level security for large enterprises. However, this leak effectively mapped out the communication flows of some of the world’s most recognisable brands and sensitive public institutions.

Affected entities reportedly include automotive giant Renault, retail leader Carrefour, logistics firms DHL and Hermes, and the beauty conglomerate L’Oreal. Perhaps most concerningly, several French government institutions and agencies were also found within the exposed records.

Cybernews reached out to Alinto to disclose the vulnerability in late February. While the company did not provide a formal response or statement, the database was secured and removed from public access the following day.

For organizations relying on third-party security relays, the incident serves as a stark reminder that the very tools designed to protect communication can, through a single configuration error, become a primary source of institutional risk.

Greece will ban under-15s from social media from next year. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis confirmed the ban on Wednesday morning, announcing it would begin on 1 January 2027. He said rising anxiety, sleep problems and addictive platforms were to blame for the ban. In a video message to Greek children, the PM said spending long hours in front of screens does not allow their minds to rest, and they faced growing pressure from constant comparison on social media and online comments. Sky News

The company said that users were seeing an “elevated rate of errors” when using Sonnet 4.6, the model that powers Claude as well as other parts of Anthropic’s offering. In practice, that meant that the system would get stuck seeming to think, without giving any response to a question. The problems followed issues on Tuesday, which also resulted in errors showing to users. Anthropic said then that it had fixed the issue and the service had returned to normal. Independent

Anthropic’s Claude, one of the world’s most popular AI assistants, has been plagued by a series of high-profile availability issues this week.

The problems reached a critical point on Wednesday, April 8, following a string of “intermittent” outages that have turned the once-reliable chatbot into a source of intense frustration for professionals and casual users alike.

The disruption began in earnest on Monday, April 6, when a massive spike in user reports on DownDetector – peaking at over 3,000 – signalled that the service was buckling under pressure.

Users attempting to log in or send messages were met with 500 or 529 errors, while those who could get through found the AI “stuck in a thinking loop,” perpetually processing queries without ever delivering an answer. Anthropic confirmed that the service was experiencing “elevated errors” across its web interface, mobile app and even its dedicated voice mode.

The root cause appears to be what analysts call a “success tax.” As Claude has climbed to the top of the App Store rankings, the sudden surge in traffic has overwhelmed Anthropic’s authentication layers and front-end systems.

Unlike a failure of the AI model itself, these outages are often caused by “cascading failures” in the supporting infrastructure. When the primary system fails to handle the load, it can trigger a “death spiral” where repeated login attempts from frustrated users further congest the network.

While Anthropic claimed to have “applied a fix” late on Monday, the stability proved short-lived. Like clockwork, the errors returned on Tuesday and again on Wednesday. Specifically, the company noted that the “Sonnet 4.6” model, which powers much of the free and professional offering, was seeing the highest rate of timeouts.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the situation remains fluid. Although Anthropic’s status page has transitioned into “monitoring” mode several times after applying patches, the recurring nature of the “Major Outage” suggests the underlying capacity issues have not been fully resolved.

For many enterprise users, the “rolling instability” has served as a wake-up call regarding single-vendor dependency. Until Anthropic can permanently bolster its servers to meet its growing popularity, many users are being forced to pivot to alternative models including GPT-4o or Gemini 1.5 Pro to keep their workflows moving.

The high speed FFS bagging machine that is the product of STRATOSPAC has become the standard of industrial packaging technology, and it sets new standards of speed, automation, and reliability.

The Significant features of STRATOSPAC

Unparalleled High-Speed Performance

The high speed is one of the main characteristics of STRATOSPAC. It is one of the fastest FFS bagging machines in the world, with the capacity to produce up to 2800 bags per hour. This high throughput greatly improves the production capacity, whereby the manufacturers are able to produce to the great demand without reducing the quality. This is not a technical benefit only, but it is directly translated into an increase in output, a decrease in bottlenecks and an increase in efficiency.

Fully Integrated Form-Fill-Seal Technology

STRATOSPAC combines the process of forming, filling and sealing in one automated process. This excludes the use of individual machines and less manual intervention.

Polyethylene (PE) tubular film is fed into the machine to form bags that are then filled and closed without any seams. This combination will guarantee:

Reduced handling time

Reduced chances of contamination

Consistent bag quality

STRATOSPAC improves the process reliability and productivity by streamlining its operations, which is why it is best suited to high-performance industrial settings.

High-tech Automation and Intelligent Control

In the design of STRATOSPAC, automation is at the core. The system has a modern Human Machine Interface (HMI) that offers real-time monitoring, diagnostics and control. It is effortless for operators to monitor the performance of the machine, detect problems, and optimise settings.

Energy Efficiency and Cost Optimisation

STRATOSPAC is energy efficient in its design, which is extremely vital in the current era of sustainability and cost control. The machine uses less electricity and compressed air than the traditional packaging systems, which has cut down the operation cost of the machine. This efficiency also helps reduce the environmental footprint, which is in line with the current sustainability objectives.

Accuracy and Quality Packaging

STRATOSPAC will be formulated in such a way that it offers the correct and reproducible packaging, particularly in the 20-30 kg bags, which are very common in industries. Its advanced features, such as motorised film dispensing, controlled sealing and vibration compaction, ensure that all the bags are filled and sealed properly. The feature of bottom and top seal cooling systems also increases the quality and longevity of the packaging.

Robust Design and Reliability

Durability is the most crucial factor that contributes to the leadership of the product of STRATOSPAC in the market. The machine will be made with strong construction and quality materials and will be used with minimal maintenance over a long period. Its modular design ensures that it is easy to get into the parts, hence reducing downtime and making it simple to service it. Such dependability is important in industries where any slight inconvenience can result in a major loss.

Flexibility and Versatility

STRATOSPAC can support many applications. It is streamlined for bulk materials that are free-flowing and can be modified to different operating configurations. It is unique in that it can be used in a wide range of silos, since it has a movable platform that is optional. This flexibility enables the manufacturers to take full advantage of the equipment as well as respond to the changing production needs.

Dust-Free and Clean Operation

Its ability to pack dust-free is also another outstanding feature. This is especially necessary in those industries that handle fine powders or granulated particles, where dust may cause product loss, contamination, and safety risks. The clean environment in the packing will not only increase the quality of the products in the packaging, but also the workplace safety and adherence to the industry standards.

Final Thoughts

STRATOSPAC has positioned itself as a market leader by integrating speed, precision, automation and efficiency into one high-performance solution. At a time when productivity and reliability are the foremost factors in an industry, STRATOSPAC can offer a holistic solution to the challenges that does not just address the present needs but also equips businesses with expansion opportunities in the future.

ChatGPT-maker OpenAI says employers should consider trialling a four-day work week as AI use and demand grow in the workplace. Its “people-first” policy proposals set out a range of ideas to help society adjust to an AI era – something it says will bring benefits but also disruption to our lives and careers. Among its suggestions were creating more work opportunities in people-facing sectors such as childcare, education and healthcare. The company said its set of initial ideas – chiefly aimed at the US – aimed to prompt discussions about action needed as AI systems become more capable. BBC

The number of EV registrations hit 86,120 in March, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), up from 69,313 a year earlier. The March total is the highest ever monthly figure. The increase came as petrol and diesel fuel prices jumped by a record amount last month, as the Iran conflict convulsed global oil supplies. Apple would announce it at the same event as the Pros, but those would become available in late September as usual, while the Fold would take a few more weeks to arrive in stores, according to one source. British consumers shrugged off the winter blues this February, driving a massive 11.4% year-on-year increase in the value of online sales.

According to the latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), overall retail volumes also rose by 2.5% compared to the same period in 2025, suggesting a resilient start to the year for the UK economy.

Home delivery expert Parcelhero, which analyzed the figures, noted that the quarterly trend remains even more robust. Online spending values for the three months to February 2026 soared by 12.1% compared to the previous year.

David Jinks, Parcelhero’s Head of Consumer Research, described the figures as having “much to cheer about,” noting that even as shoppers bought slightly fewer items in February compared to January, they were prepared to “splash out a little more on higher-value items.”

Shadow of global conflict

However, the retail industry is bracing for a potential “supply chain shock” following military action in the Middle East. On February 28, a surprise series of air strikes on Iran by the US and Israel sent ripples through global markets. Analysts fear that the widening conflict could severely dent consumer confidence and disrupt the flow of goods just as the sector was gaining momentum.

“The elephant in the room is the attack on Iran,” Jinks warned. “The retail estimates for March, expected on 24 April, will give the first real indication of how significantly consumer confidence has been knocked by these events.”

In a volatile economic landscape, Parcelhero maintains that the most resilient retailers are those moving away from a single-channel focus. Citing its influential “2030: Death of the High Street” report, the firm argues that an “omnichannel” approach—blending physical stores with a robust digital presence—is the only way to protect against unexpected global shocks.
