Step 01: Creating Query using JetEngine Query Builder:

As, I’m showing with Job, so first I need to build a query for Job Title to get values from the database.

We need to go to WP Dashbaord> JetEngine> Query Builder> Add New
Write down the following properties

How the “Hey Idiot!” the Jolly Joke Loop Came About

Envision being occupied with a never-ending sequence of message boxes that read Hey Idiot! while you are assiduously coding at your computer. This is the signature of a joke code known as the Hey Idiot! Loop, which adds humor to the otherwise severe programming field.

Deciphering the Code

Let’s look at how the Hey Idiot! Loop works.

Step 01: Writing Code:

First, open a code editor that is familiar to you. Here, I’m using the Notepad application as a reference. Then, please write a short code that I shared in the article exactly as given. You may write anything in the quote section. Whatever you write in the quote will be displayed.

I’m using the do loop command in VBScript where the Hey Idiot! will be displayed.

Step 02: Save the VBScript file:

Save the newly written file with the .vbs extension. Please check the screenshot as a reference.

Dubble-click the left button of your mouse to run the file. And boom… You’ll find a small window where the Hey Idiot will be displayed, as in the following screenshot.

Observation of the program:

The small window we have already gotten by running the application won’t be closed. For instance, you may attempt to close that window repeatedly, but you consistently fail to do so.

The machine appears to be hacked. But the truth is that it is only a toy trap.

Solve the problem

To close that small window, open the Task Manager and follow the following steps.

Task Manager > Processes > Apps (on the Name column)> Microsoft ® Windows Based Script Host > Right click > End Task

Functionality: Download, Play & Credits

At present, there are three buttons for every music or sound effect.

Using the Download button, we can download any music from there. Using the Play button, we can play any music before downloading.

From the Info button/icon, we can see the music information. It’s good practice to add song credit to the projects. We can easily find this from here.

We can also create playlists and add our favourite music to it.

What’s the use of cGroups v2?

cGroups v2 is the next version of the Linux cGroups API. cGroups v2 provides a unified control system with advanced resource management capabilities. It’s a kernel feature that helps to limit resource usage (CPU, memory, disk, I.O, etc.) for different users/accounts.

How to enable cGroups v2 in AlmaLinux 9?

AlmaLinux 9 supports cGroups v2. Sometimes, the cGroups v2 may be disabled. At that time, we’ll need to enable it to get its benefits.

Before starting, please check the NOTES section first. By following the process, let’s check whether cGroups v2 is enabled.

Step 01: Checking whether cGroups v2 is enabled or not:

We can find out if the cGroups v2 is enabled or not by the following command:

stat -fc %T /sys/fs/cgroup

If cGroups v1 is enabled and the cGroups v2 is disabled, then it will show below output:

As here, cGroups v2 is disabled; we need to enable it by following the next steps.

Step 02: Modifying grub:

Using the following command, we can edit the grub file.

nano /etc/default/grub

Now need to append the “ systemd.unified_cgroup_hierarchy=1 ” in “GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=” line

Now, we need to save it by CTRL+O & then ENTER. We are losing it by CTRL+X.

Step 03: Executing the modified grub file:

Using the following command, we have to execute the modified grub file:

grub2-mkconfig

Also, we need to use the following command:

yum update

Step 04: Restarting the system:

Now, we need to restart the system manually or using the following command:

reboot

Step 05: Rechecking if cGroups v2 is enabled or not:

After rebooting the system, we need to recheck whether cGroups v2 is enabled using the command we executed in STEP 01. If the cGroups v2 is enabled, the following output will be displayed.

• root user access must be required for this process.
•  To use nano, we must install it before using this feature. By default, nano is not installed in AlmaLinux 9. So, before going through the STEP 02 process, use nano is installed.
•  Following these steps, we can enable cGroups v2 in AlmaLinux 8.x.

Before starting the tutorial, ensure that your server is running with AlmaLinux 9 & you have the root access to install and configure Fail2ban in AlmaLinux 9 server.

Step 01: Need to verify whether the Firewalld is installed/enabled or not:

Firewalld is a Firewall management tool that comes pre-installed in AlmaLinux 9.

systemctl status firewalld

If your firewall is running, it’ll show “active (running)”, & it’s not running, then it’ll show “inactive (dead)” under the Active section.

   Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/firewalld.service; disabled; vendor preset: enabled)
   Active: inactive (dead)

To start the Firewall service, use the following command.

systemctl start firewalld

Now, recheck the status using the following command.

systemctl status firewalld

The output should be like this:

Step 02: Install Fail2ban:

The Fail2Ban package is not available in AlmaLinux 9 repositories. So, we need to install this from the EPEL repository.

Use the following command to install the EPEL repository.

dnf install epel-release -y

After installing the EPEL repository, we need to install the Fail2Ban by using the following command:

dnf install fail2ban fail2ban-firewalld -y

After installing the package, we need to activate & run it.

Step 03: Active & Enable the Fail2Ban Package:

Using the following command, we can activate the Fail2Ban in AlmaLinux 9:

systemctl start fail2ban

Time to enable the Fail2Ban by using this command:

systemctl enable fail2ban

Time to check whether the Fail2Ban is enabled or not!

systemctl status fail2ban

The output will show like this:

Step 03: Configure Fail2Ban

The main configuration file name is jail.conf for Fail2Ban & located at /etc/fail2ban/. To configure the Fail2Ban, we’ll need to use this file.

It’s always safe to keep a backup of the default file.

Using the following command, we’ll keep the default file as a backup file. The name of this file will be jail.conf.back.

cp /etc/fail2ban/jail.conf /etc/fail2ban/jail.conf.back

As Fial2Ban uses the IPtables firewall, we need to enable the Firewalld support using the following command:

mv /etc/fail2ban/jail.d/00-firewalld.conf /etc/fail2ban/jail.d/00-firewalld.local

Now, we need to restart the Fail2Ban by using the following command:

systemctl restart fail2ban

Step 04: Secure SSH with Fail2Ban

Now, we need to configure Faild2Ban to block remote IPs. Here, we’ll create a jail configuration file to keep SSH secured using the following command:

Nano should be installed on your server. Otherwise, you may use vim.

nano /etc/fail2ban/jail.d/sshd.local

Add the following lines in it:

[sshd]
enabled = true
maxretry = 3
bantime = 3h

Here,

• [ssh] is used to enable Fail2Ban for SSH.
• enable = true means this configuration is enabled.
• maxretry = 3 means the system will block any IP after three incorrect attempts.
• bantime = 3h means the blocked IP gets banned for 3 hours.

Now, we need to save the file using CTRL+O & Enter and close it using CTRL+X. Now, it is time to restart the Fail2Ban service.

systemctl restart fail2ban

We have to check whether the Fail2Ban is configured or not using the following command:

fail2ban-client status 

The output has to be:

Congratulations! We have successfully installed & configured Fail2Ban in AlmaLinux 9.
