India's population 1.21 billion

India's population rose to 1.21 billion (121 crores) people over the last 10 years -- an increase of 181 million, according to the new census released on Thursday. Significantly, the population growth is slower for the first time in nine decades.

India, which accounts for world's 17.5 per cent population, comprises 623.7 million males and 586.5 million females, said a provisional 2011 Census report.

China is the most populous nation, accounting for 19.4 per cent of the global population.

The country's headcount is almost equal to the combined population of the United States, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Japan put together, it said.

The population has increased by more than 181 million during the decade between 2001 and 2011, the report said. The growth rate in 2011 is 17.64 per cent in comparison to 21.15 per cent in 2001.

The 2001-2011 period is the first decade -- with the exception of 1911-1921 -- which has actually added lesser population compared to the previous decade, Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner of India C Chandramauli said in presence of Home Secretary Gopal K Pillai.

Among the states and union territories, Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state with 199 million people and Lakshadweep the least populated with 64,429 people.

Also seen in the statistics that Bigger states lost complete control of their population and administration while smaller states are doing a lot better..in a way bigger states are directly or indirectly helping the population tsunami to explode. we need smaller states to effectively control this deadly explosion..wake up government before its too late.

Telangana Talli statue burnt

SANGAREDDY: In an ugly turn of events that may snowball into major controversy, some unidentified persons burnt down the Telangana Talli statute at Daultabad near Narsapur in Medak district. The incident too place in the wee hours of Tuesday, according to Narsapur Circle Inspector Gangadhar. The statue was unveiled by TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao during last year. The miscreants also left a note stating that it was burnt down in retaliation for the destruction of the statue of Congress leader Lakshma Reddy, husband of Women and Child Welfare Minister V. Sunitha Lakshma Reddy, recently. Protesting over the incident rasta rokos were held at many places demanding the resignation of the Minister and bandh was also observed. TRS district convenor M. Raghunandana Rao visited the spot and condemned the incident. Ms. Sunitha condemned the incident. Stating that Telangana Talli represents the entire population in the region, she said that Congress would get the statue reconstructed.

Telangana's 'Million March' gets huge response

Even after turning entire Telangana [ Images ] region into an open jail, detaining more than a lakh people amd the police virtually laying siege to Hyderabad, the Andhra government could not stop the inevitable. Though a million people could not converge, at the end of day the Million March in support of Telangana state proved to be a big success.

Breaking all the barricades, jumping over the barbed wire fencings and facing the brute force of the police and the paramilitary, Telangana supporters walked for several kilometres to gather at the Tank Bund of Hussain Sagar lake in the heart of the city and took a collective pledge to achieve their goal.

Following the massive clamp down and the closure of all the major roads of Hyderabad, cancellations of three dozen trains, diversion of traffic, the city roads wore a deserted look and ordinary people suffered a lot of hardship. But as the day progressed, hordes of people reached the Tank Bund. The first group of agitators pushed back the police, pulled down the iron barricades and removed the barbed wire to make the way for those followed.

Hundreds of policemen along with the Rapid Action Force and AP Special Police could only silently watch as the crowds took control of the Tank Bund area.

In less than two hours,the entire stretch of Tank Bund was brimming with more than 50,000 people shouting slogans of Jai Telangana, dancing to the tunes of revolutionary songs of Ghaddar and playing different games. There were young boys, women and old people, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and all other communities. Groups of doctors rubbed shoulders with the drivers and coal miners. Lawyers in black coats took out their own procession.

In a reflection of the angry mood of the ordinary people of Telangana, two Congress MPs K Keshav Rao (Rajya Sabha) and Madhu Yashki were attacked when they reached Tank Bund to show their solidarity. Keshav Rao's car was damaged and Yashki was physically assaulted. Both of them had to leave the place under police protection.

Yashki said that he had no hard feeling towards the Telangana supporters who had attacked him because he understands their feelings. Congress MLAs from Telangana, who had announced their support for the Million March did not attend the program.

The angry crowds also pulled down the statues of several historical, religious and literary figures belonging to coastal Andhra, which dot the Tank Bund. Strangely the police, which managed to arrest all the top leaders of Telangana movement including the Telangana Joint Action Committee convenor Professor Kodanda Ram and more than fifty Telangana MLAs of Telangana Rashtriya Samiti and the Telegu Desam Party, could not stop the ordinary people.

However Bharatiya Janata Party [ Images ] MLA G Kishan Reddy, Telangana Jagruti president Kavita, and Movement for Peace and Justice president Hamid Mohammed Khan were among the notables who reached the venue dodging the police.

Telangana Rashtra Samiti president and the key architect of the movement K Chandrasekhar Rao also reached the venue at around 1500 hrs and participated in the program.

Prof Kodanda Ram was arrested outside the new MLAs quarters when he was going towards Tank Bund an MLA's car. The police deflated the car's tyres to arrest him.

TRS MLAs including E Rajinder, T Harish Rao and K Taraka Rama Rao were chased and arrested when they came out of the state assembly.

TDP's MLAs from Telangana including Nagam Janardhan Reddy were also arrested afte they came out of assembly in a procession.

Though the police and the security forces had sealed the roads in all the Telangana districts as well as Hyderabad, people from far off places including Adilabad and Karimnagar reached the venue of the Million March.

The day was marred by stray incidents of violence including stone pelting in the Osamania University campus where students clashed with he police and the paramilitary forces. AP Special Police personnel wearing the protective gear fired tear gas shells and stones on the students who were trying to take out the procession from the university.

Prof Kodanda Ram, who was released from police custody in the evening described the event as a major success. "If the state government had acted wisely and granted permission to program, all the tension and the problems could have been avoided", he said.

"By gathering in such a large number despite the police repression, the people of Telangna have delivered their verdict. Now it is for the central government to read the writing on the wall and bring a bill in Parliament immediately for the formation of Telangana state", he said.

All theatres in the Telangana region, including Hyderabad will not screen films for two days on February 22 and 23 in response to the non-cooperation call given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC).
Also, there will be no shootings on these two days and all studios, laboratories and distribution officers will participate in the bandh. The multiplexes in the city will also not screen movies.

In addition to this, Telangana MSO’s Association and Telangana Cable Oprerator’s Association have jointly decided to stop broadcasting Seemandhra channels for 48 hours for their biased behavior on Telangana. They are also contemplating on extending the ban if things do not change.

'BJP will fight till Telangana is formed'

Hyderabad, Jan 23: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj Saturday said the party would continue to fight till a separate Telangana state is created and targetted both the ruling Congress and Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh for their "double standards" on the issue.

Addressing a public meeting organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the Leader of opposition in Lok Sabha asserted that Telangana state would become a reality.

Claiming that the BJP had taken a clear stand on Telangana, she alleged that the Congress and main oppoisition TDP were adopting double standards on the issue. "The Telangana leaders of Congress and TDP are raising slogans of Jai Telangana while their counterparts in Andhra region are demanding a unified Andhra," she said.

Stating that students had taken the Telangana movement in their hands, she remarked that "when students take a movement in their hands even god can't stop it'. She however advised students not to resort to violence.

Swaraj appealed to students and youth not to commit suicide for Telangana. "You should fight and live for Telangana to see its formation, development and prosperity," she said.

"How many more people will have to die for Telangana state to be formed," she asked and alleged that the Congress had repeatedly betrayed the people of the region.

Recalling that Telangana was merged with Andhra in 1956 despite reservations by the first states reorganisation commission, she pointed out that then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru had stated that the merger was only a trial and people of Telangana can demand Telangana state whenever they want.

Swaraj urged Congress president Sonia Gandhi to fulfill the promise made by Nehru by carving out Telangana state.

The ABVP meeting passed a resolution demanding the central government move a bill in the parliament for formation of Telangana state. It also asked all MPs and state legislators from the region to submit their resignations to mount pressure on the centre.

పెట్టుబడులు పెట్టిన అంబానికి మన రాష్ట్రం ఇచ్చేస్తారా?
హైదరాబాద్ లో మేము వేల కోట్ల పెట్టుబడులు పెట్టాము, హైదరాబాద్ మాది అందుకే సమైక్యంగా ఉంటాము అని అంటున్నారు ఆంద్ర వాళ్ళు, మన మీద ప్రేమ కాదు అరవై ఏళ్ళ కిందట ఏ నగరం మీద కన్నేసి, మనతో కలిసారో, ఆ హైదరాబాద్ పై ఇప్పుడు దోబ్బాలని చూస్తున్నారు.
అలా అయితే మనం వైజాగ్ విజయవాడ లో పెట్టుబడులు పెడుదాము , మనకు వైజాగ్ , విజయవాడ, తిరుపతి, రాజమండ్రి ఇచ్చేస్తారా?
అలా అనుకుంటే మన స్టేట్ లో లక్షల కోట్ల బిజినెస్ పెట్టిన అంబాని మన స్టేట్ తనదే అంటాడు ఇచ్చేస్తారా? మన దేశం వాడే , మనం అంత ఒక్కటే కదా? ఇస్తే సరిపోతుంది కదా సమైక్యంద్ర వాదులు?
అలాగే మన దేశంలో లక్షల కోట్ల పెట్టుబడులు పెట్టి, అబివృద్ది చేసిన దేశాలకు మన దేశాన్ని ఇచ్చేదాము. ఎందుకంటే వాళ్ళ వల్లే అబివృద్ది అవుతుంది.

1) ఏదో ఒక పనికిమాలిన అవార్డ్ ఫంక్షన్ లో మీకు లెజెండ్ బిరుదు ఇవ్వకపొతే నానా గోల పెట్టారు తెలంగాణా ప్రజల ను 53 సంవత్సరాల నుని అవమానం చేస్తూనే వున్నా మీ ఆంధ్ర వాళ్ళకు వెతిరేకంగా మేము చేస్తున్న పోరాటాన్ని అవహేళన చేయడం ఎంత వరకు సమంజసం
2) మీరు నా సలీం సినిమా నడవకున్న పరవాలేదు నాకు సమైక్యఆంధ్ర కావాలి అంటున్నారు కదాఆ సినిమా మొదటి రోజే ప్లాప్ అని జనాలు అంటున్నారు , అన్ని వెబ్ సైట్ లో పెట్టిన సంగతి మీకు తెలియదా

Just as Lord Vishnu ended the terrors of the Asuras on this day, by finishing them off and burying their heads under the Mandara Parvata, so do we the people of Telangana need to finish the evil and exploitative forces that hold us in bondage. We have raised our voice and it has hardly made a dent in the center’s policy. We are still hearing words like “normalcy to return”, “consultative approach” from the Central leadership. The time for discussions, platitudes and negotiations is over, like Lord Vishnu’s Sudarshan Chakra, we have to sever the power fount of the exploitative anti Telangana forces.

The land mafia in Hyderabad and The Government contractors in AP.
Dry the power of these two factions and the life blood of the anti Telangana forces will dry down."

1)First, how do we tackle the land mafia with their political, and goonda power.? We have neither the money nor the gun toting armies like them, but we have is as powerful as the Sudarshan chakra, the might of our numbers and our determination and like Vishnu we need to wield it just once. Let us take one strong and decisive move, select the most visible and voluble Telangana antagonist, a highly visible example of trickery and cheating who has illegally occupied acres of prime land in Hyderabad, and lay siege to its offices and business interests and force the suspension of work. This will hit the exploiters jugular with no effect on the people and future of Telangana. We all know this business house will not have employed any person from Telangana hence if its offices are closed down the livelihood of our people is not jeopardized nor will it impact our future as the business will not be working on the regions development. Its mantra would be make money in Hyderabad and develop Vijayawada or Vizag. This will give out the message, loud and clear to the others that it is time for them to pack their bags and go.

2 ) Coming to the Government contractors, how do we tackle them?. This is where our brothers and sisters in Government and Administration need to pitch in. You will have to see to it, that no contractor except if it is from Telangana is awarded any project. And if it has completed or is working on any project ensure the money due to them is delayed indefinitely. I am sure we can make this happen by using the Government machinery to delay approvals and payments. Once they realize that Hyderabad and Telangana is no longer the goose that lays the golden egg, their antipathy and resistance to our state will die a natural death.

This will require firm and decisive action on our part, and if we hesitate any longer the time will be lost and we will have to wait for another 50 years for a Makar Sankranti like todays. Let us remember we have lost all and there is nothing more to lose. Now, there is just one way to go, UP. Telangana will be born not with a whimper but a roar.
