So, here you go.

This sexy side piece is the cut segment from episode 30 where I talked about the Resident evil 2 remake and Kingdom Hearts III. I say...some 'thangs' about Kingdom Hearts III. But only 3 people listen to this podcast anyway, so my mentions should be fine. Maybe. I hope.

This isn't a full blown new episode, hence why I've tagged it as 'EX'. Don't ask why. It seemed like a cool idea when I did this the first time around 13 years ago. Because, continuity. Damn 12 years ago?! jonathon-van-ness-can-you-believe.gif.
I don't even know why I'm bothering to do another. But here I am, with a 30th episode to a podcast that was dead. Although I prefer the term 'in stasis'.

If you're one of the 2 people that used to listen to this and y'all are still alive and have Internet access. SURPRISE BITCH! For those who are new 'round these parts, welcome. And please excuse the mess. Here's a rundown of what you get in this long awaited episode.

In my life: That time I went to New York, that other time I went to New York and when I went to New York

I thought there was some kind of quality control that podcasts had to go through in order for them to be on Spotify. But it seems not. Because The random rambles of J is now available on there. They'll probably take it down once they realise what they've allowed on their platform. But until then, you can stream it there.
It's been 2 years since my last podcast, which one hand feels like forever. But on the other feels like such a short space of time, given how quickly time has passed. It's like somebody has been fucking with my life with an ocarina.

So, I'm essentially starting from scratch. Unlike Beyoncé, I don't have a legion of fans waiting with baited breath for me to drop new material after 2 years. so I'll take this as a re-introduction to everybody out there who has never downloaded a podcast of mine before. Here is my present to you. A new podcast! Don't all send yourselves flying underneath my tree at once.

My intention was to post this on Christmas eve-eve, but I didn't. So, I planned to post this on Christmas eve, but I didn't. So, I figured I'd try and get it out for Christmas morning, but I didn't. So here it is, ON boxing day. Fail? No. I refuse to class this as a fail. And if you dare say as such I will hunt you down and give you an arrow to the knee.

As promised in my last podcast, I talk in depth about that Zelda game, Skyward sword. It's only when I play this podcast back to myself that I remember all of these other things I should have mentioned about the game, which I forgot. I blame Christmas (stupid bloody thing). I do happen to talk about other stuff though. One whole podcast on Zelda would be a bit much. Although I have done it before (go listen to it please).

Here's what you get in my 2011 Christmas podcast...

Christmas = seppuku

Microsoft sort it out. Sony? *tumbleweed*

My cloud parting rendition of "The ballad of the Goddess"

The Christmas gift rejection hit "Christmas face"

So, is that Skyward sword game any good? *strokes copy of game*

Random J radio plays... Hikaru Utada

My new year's resolution(s)

With a line drawn firmly under Christmas and a sigh of relief we made through epic meal times and rabid high street shoppers, we can now look forward to a new year and feel a bit miserable that 2011 went by so quickly; as we mull over all of the things we planned to do, but didn't. But everything will be okay, as long as my podcasts are still around. I like to think of my podcasts as some all powerful thing which just helps everything and makes it better. A bit like the triforce. But the triforce when somebody good touches it, not some evil son of a bitch. I have no idea what I'm talking about. Please just go listen to my podcast.

Yay!! Love you all! x

Let's instead be joyous that it's here and that it's ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!
I feel like I share something in common with Britney Spears. Being away from the game for so long and having to come back with new material and shit to appease my fan base and the haters. Actually, that's nonsense. I have nothing in common with Britney aside from having millions of fans worldwide (this is a lie). And I've never gotten out of a car and had paparazzi snap me wearing no underwear (this did happen to me once).

This is a more subdue podcast than normal, due to me feeling slightly depressed about work (I thought slavery was abolished, but my employer never got that memo) and also being out of practice having not recorded anything in so long. I figured I'd ease in with my comeback podcast by coming off like a stable human being and then hit you all with filthy humour, crassness and filth to dirty up your Christmas with my next podcast. But until that day, here's what you're getting with this rated PG 27th podcast of mine:
Until then I'll continue to put my shit out for free. Kinda like mixtapes, but not really. Enjoy the podcast. And try not to laugh at my accent too much. 🎵 This podcast features the hit song "None". No. Actually please don't. Because I need you to stay and listen to this podcast. I actually offer advice and impart wisdom in this podcast. The wisdom I impart is about dustbins (go figure) and the advice I offer is about Mass effect (because life is just a bunch of branching dialog choices) but it's still crucial information which will make life that little bit easier for you if you apply it, and take it on board.

Here's what you get in this life changing podcast.

World affairs

The launch of the 3DS

The so-underground-hit, even the Morlocks haven't heard it: Like a joystick (featuring the Quarter circle forward movement)

I ♥ Mass effect so much that I'd sleep with Shepard myself if he were real

How one feels about Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Seriously. I am in love with Mass effect

Nope?!
Well, listen to it any way.
The random rambles of J number 23. My second podcast of 2010. Wow. I am disappoint in my damn self.

Fuck.

Time seems to fly by faster and faster with each consecutive year which passes. I wasn't even aware it had been over 6 months since I last podcasted until I looked at my podcast feed and saw updated 7 months ago. Wow. So I figured I'd better do something about it, and record a podcast to remind all 3 of my listeners that I am still alive.

Podcast number 23 is business as usual. I tell you shit about what has (and what hasn't) been going on my life. Tell you more shit about gaming related stuff. And sing you a nice little song which ties in with some other shit I may have said at some point in the podcast.

So, here's a rundown of what you get in this instalment of my random rambles...

J gets game kicked on him by a fellow gamer

Would you fuck to get discount on games?

Spreading the love across every gaming system

Games I have which I'll never complete...evurrrr!

Christmas plans

The 2010 pop smash hit: Only game (in the world)

Listen. Love. Laugh out loud. Peace out.

Here comes my final podcast for 2009. The random rambles of J, number 21!

I was reluctant to promise another podcast by the years' end in my last random ramble, because I was unsure if I'd be able to put one out. But in the face of adversity, a malfunctioning laptop, and a sick PC, I managed to hustle out podcast for you to enjoy the festive season and ring in the New year.

As has been a custom of mine for the past 2 years that I've been podcasting, my final podcast for the year is all about Christmas. To me, Christmas isn't just December 25th, but the whole final week of December. So in my own little world, it's still Christmas until January 1st rings in.

So what's on J's 2009 Crimbo menu...

An almost white Christmas in London

What the hell does Christmas mean to us?

Random J radio plays... Crystal Kay

Looking into 2010

Japan story: Dreaming of a Japanese Christmas

The world premiere of the hood Christmas anthem: Make it snow

My Christmas present to you. There's no bow, no ribbons, and it didn't cost a damn thing. But it's here and it's all yours. So if you've got no plans over the remaining Christmas holiday or for New years' day, I gotcha covered. Just press play.

Happy holidays everybody!

🎵 This podcast features the hood Christmas anthem "Make it snow", featuring the (imaginary) critically acclaimed and platinum selling rapper Black Mack.
Yes. Really.

My tale of how I ran somebody over thankfully didn't end grimly. But it did happen. It's probably something I should stop mentioning to people. It's doing my credibility no favours, and now nobody trusts me enough to drive them anywhere.

Podcast 20 comes chock-a-block full of random goodness. Which unlike a Christmas dinner, won't leave your trousers feeling two sizes too tight.

The run down of a run over (My account of 'the incident')

Games in my sights for 2010

My shot at getting to see one of Japan's biggest J-Pop superstars

Japan story: Porn (J'yapanese style)

Random J radio plays... Hikaru Utada

A brand new Random J single! "3" - A song about running somebody over

Another attempt at a short 'n sweet podcast: failed. I can talk for days. I should be a guidance counsellor.

Get stuck in!
This is only my third podcast for 2009. Bloody hell. THE SHAME. I guess I'll have to do something to make it up to you all. I should. But I probably won't. Bitch. If you don't know me by now.

Life has been pretty slow in 2009 so far, and it seems to be having an adverse affect on time, which is flying by at warp speeds. It's unreal, and I'm finding it pretty hard to get my head around.

Podcast number 19 gives an insight into me having a reflective moment. Talking about my outlook on my lift right now, the past, the future and what I REALLY think about Japan. *In my MTV Diary voice* You think you know...but'chooo have no idea.

With the 19th instalment of The random rambles of J, I'm pretty much giving you what you've been getting since day one. Only with more life talk, less S-bombs, a couple of poppin' P's (It really has been too long since I grabbed a mic) and no slagging off of a video game, so be prepared for one to get torn a new place where shit comes out in random ramble number 20.

Missing the home away from home

Shifting the perception of a party animal

How I be ridin' seriously dirty

Japan story: Domestic abuse at Big echo

The VGM jukebox: Final Fantasy XIII's battle theme

A new Random J song release! A song about the trappings of Final Fantasy

The mission to drop a short 'n sweet podcast failed once again. Once I start talking I really am difficult to shut up. Just be glad I know how to break it up with a song or two. I really do think I should be signed to a record label by now. The UK has had a couple of postal strikes, so I guess my recording contract is in a sorting office somewhere.
I blame gaming. It's been eating away at my time like a Pac-Man. Gobble-gobble, bitch. Gobble-muthafuckin'-gobble. I swear I spend more time in Kijuju than I do my real life. Chris and Sheva feel like family. My priorities are clearly a shambles.

After so long of only enjoying games vicariously through websites and friends, it's nice to be re-affirmed as a gamer again. I was beginning to lose touch with it all, which is a shame given gaming has been such a huge part of my life for so long. So it's good to be back in the game.

*BU-DUM. TSSSSSCCH!*

I feel like a newbie in an old crowd, which is odd. Rediscovering gaming all over again. I've been wasting nights away making up for lost time. I think it's safe (or un-safe) to say, the gamer in me is back and in HD!

With a couple months transpiring since my last podcast and this one, I have a whole lot to share. So, what do you get for nothing but your time and some bandwidth? Well I'll tells ya...

Pre-lifestyles of the broke

My current squeeze: J's obsession with Korean pop

Japan story: The Irish pub

And much more. But not THAT much more.

My 18th podcast is a bit long. But given it's been a while and this shit is free I'm sure you won't mind...too much. The cure to kill an hour of your time is my podcast. To be administered every now and then and taken in as many doses as your ears feel fit.
My first podcast of 2009. A couple of months overdue, but it's here now.

So. How has my life changed since 2009 and snuck upon me? Well, I'll share it all with you in the obligatory mix of insights into my personal life, getting back onto the path of hardcore gaming and one of many stories about my experience in Japan: in the first of a segment appropriately titled "Japan story". Here's what you get for zero bucks in this instalment of The random rambles of J...

A retrospective: Looking back on random rambles of the past

Life in the first 2 months of 2009

The behemoth of a game that is Resident evil 5

Me and my Tetris DS skills

Japan story: In the club #1

And of course you get a few songs by yours truly thrown in for your pleasure, including imaginary hits such as "Heartless" and more...

This instalment clocks in at over an hour. But it's been 2 months since my last podcast, so you'll forgive me, right? You know the deal. Download, listen, love and then (hopefully...maybe) subscribe.

Enjoy.

🎵 This podcast features songs from the album Yr09 & heartbreak. All of which sound better than Kanye's copy cat versions.
All of which sound better than Kanye's copy cat versions. 🎧 Listen / stream the podcast on Spotify, iTunes & Google podcast</itunes:summary><itunes:keywords>Gaming,Games,Video,games,Gamer,Consoles,Retro,Reviews,Previews,Nintendo,Sony,Microsoft,Wii,PlayStation,Xbox,Podcast,Speaking,Talking,Spoken,word,Random,J,?J,J,Random,British,English,United,Kingdom,London,Humour,Humor,Funnies,W</itunes:keywords>

The random rambles of J #16 - Hurry up and buy!

It's the end of the year, with Christmas around the corner. We're fortunate enough to have seen another year through, with prospects of seeing another (albeit better than the last). There's certainly a fair deal to celebrate right about now, and you can add this newly released podcast to your list! A pressie from J, underneath your digital tree, just in the nick of time for Christmas and the new year.

So, as you sit and take in the festivities, you can sit and enjoy such ear candy such as:

Being caught up in Christmas

The question that still lingers... An Xbox 360 or a PlayStation 3?

What is it about Resident evil 5 and Final Fantasy XIII!?

[Interludes] Random J's VGM jukebox:

Michelle's theme (from Tekken)

Roll's theme (from Marvel VS Capcom)

J's holiday story (Part 1 of several): First impact

Random J's brand new hit "Green 'n red"

As always, I manage to talk my way through the best part of an hour. So you can expect more of my 'holiday stories' in a future podcast or two. Because there's a fair few of 'em. It'd be too good for me to give them all to you in one podcast. I don't want my listener(s) getting spoilt now do I?!

As is usually the case, not much gaming has been taking place in the world of J. I'm feeling that need to get an Xbox 360 more than ever and I vent that need in this podcast. I really want a good game to tuck into and Wii ain't doing it for me right now. My life still isn't as eventful as I'd like neither, but I still find lots of random stuff to share with you in the hopes you get a little insight into the world of Random J.

So what d'ya get (for free might I add) in this podcast?

J goes to the movies

Talkin' about some roadkill

[Interlude] Random J's VGM jukebox: Sonic CD - Tidal tempest (Past)

The anthem for everybody who has had a brick Xbox 360: The hit song "Work!"

Why Nintendo need to sort out their shit

Let's talk about it!

A surprise performance of a rock classic (featuring another guest feature)

You know the drill. Right click to save, subscribe if you likey and hit me on iTunes if you're the snazzy owner of an iPod touch and can steal some wireless Internet.

As always tends to be the case with these poxy podcasts, I had trouble uploading it last week, which is why the podcast is dated from the week beginning October 13 and not October 20.
This podcast was ready to go 2 weeks ago, but I had problems uploading it. (Just my luck...) But it's finally here now and ready to be heard.

My life isn't an eventful as I'd like to make out, but I still manage to pad out a 40 minute podcast and fill you in on what it's like to live the life of a gamer in the UK. I voice my opinions on all things gaming related and dedicate several moments to laughing at Sony losing Final Fantasy XIII as a system exclusive. Yup. That twisted UK dwelling, game playing, Nintendo lover is back and still salty as all hell.

So, what do you lucky sods get in this instalment!? Well, I'll tells ya what'chu get.

An account of how I gets more drunk than crunk in the club

Another lost ramble: The Gamespot issue

Me laughing about Final Fantasy XIII

Music from X-Men: Children of the atom

An exclusive streaming of the anthemic song: "Piece of Wii"

Some gassing on about the PS3 and the Xbox 360

A Random J first: A guest feature!

Be sure to download this right this second if you're at your computer! Chop-chop!! And for those of you with swanky iPod touches and iPhones: this podcast is also available on iTunes. So if you're in a hotspot or can steal somebodies wireless connection, you can download me on the go!! Yay!
I did not die, or fly off of the rails and hibernate into a life of bad weaves, alcohol and substance abuse like Amy Winehouse or Britney Spears. It's now business as usual folks. As is always the case, not as much gaming has gone down as I'd like. But I still manage to bring you a podcast clocking in at 45 minutes, despite my best efforts to keep it at 30.

The wonderful little treasure that is my 12th podcast features...

A look at UK Summer 2008

Let's talk about it! - Why a certain Mario Kart game sucks major bum crack

The games I've bought over the past 5 months

A breakdown (an electrical one, not a mental one)

And of course, the obligatory song (or two)

And it wouldn't be a random ramble of J's if it wasn't delivered in my wonderfully eloquent London tongue. So go on, you know the deal. Right click the mp3 link and save.
Once again my mission to keep the chit chat to under 45 minutes fails. It fails hard.

In the tenth instalment of my random rambles I cover quite a bit. From the recent goings on in my life to a couple of new games I've bought. YES. You heard me right. I've actually bought a couple of new games. Cheap new games, but games none the less.

Without further ado, I present to you my tenth podcast. The official podcast from the UK gamer who sits in front of his microphone and talks shit.

The happy meal that is podcast number ten features:

Detective mystery vol. 2 - I hear something...

Let's talk about it! - Why Final Fantasy IX sucks

Bootlegged gaming and piracy

A sneak listen of a clip from 'The lost rambles'

Some Halo hating

As always, the obligatory song

Disclaimer: J would like to mention that no Halo stans were harmed during the recording of this podcast and that he does not condone violence against Halo stans.
After a string of hour long podcasts, you'll be glad to know that this one clocks in at under 45 minutes.

Podcast number 9 comes complete with nonsensical chit-chat about my life, pregnancies, my Nintend DS, a fat Italian plumber and shitty UK weather. And as is customary for these podcasts, you get a song or two thrown in for good measure.

Your ears will bleed. You have been warned.

🎵 This podcast features the song "Umbrella". If you live in the UK; forget that Rihanna shit. This is our bad weather anthem right here.
A slower paced and more stoic random ramble than usual and also quite short (by my standards). As with every podcast I declare my love for Nintendo and their new baby: Wii, but I give 'em a bit of a grilling too. *shakes fist* And would you believe I actually go and say something nice about Sony!? I also go on a bit of a rant of how amazing Sonic & the secret rings will be when it releases. Trust me to go and record this before the reviews actually go out and it receives mediocre reviews left, right and centre.
Nintendo, Wii, silly songs, a bored UK gamer and a guest featured rap from Black Mack. You know you need this podcast in your life...
🎧 Listen / stream the podcast on Spotify, iTunes & Google podcast</itunes:summary><itunes:keywords>Gaming,Games,Video,games,Gamer,Consoles,Retro,Reviews,Previews,Nintendo,Sony,Microsoft,Wii,PlayStation,Xbox,Podcast,Speaking,Talking,Spoken,word,Random,J,?J,J,Random,British,English,United,Kingdom,London,Humour,Humor,Funnies,W</itunes:keywords>

The random rambles of J EX - Twilight princess review

I thought the EX would make it sound really cool. It was originally part of Random ramble #6, but it would've been far too long and I was in no way looking to put out another 90 minute snoozefest. So I decided I'd let this review fly solo. I had put out a written review out of this game on my blog some time ago, so I didn't want those who had checked my blog to have to sit through what is essentially the exact same review, only with me talking through it.

More songs to make your ears bleed

A run down of what went down at the official UK Wii launch night

So really this podcast is pretty much 40 odd minutes of me talking solely about the Nintendo Wii, Christmas, the Nintendo Wii, Christmas, how much I love the Nintendo Wii and also Christmas. I also talk a little about the Nintendo Wii.
It just may well might be, clocking in at well over an hour. I had a terrible block over the first half of October, so when it finally lifted, it was like I had a months worth of stuff to get out of my system. Podcasts of this length will not be a habit. I know, I know, this podcast is FAR too long. But I didn't want to cut too much out. So see this as a present from me to you for taking so long to get this out.

So what do I ramble on about this time? Well, I review Kingdom Hearts II and also go off on one about Square Enix and why I think they suck at the moment. (FIGHT THE SYSTEM!!) I won't kiss their behinds just because they're responsible for Final Fantasy. I think Square Enix are crap right now and fully explain why.
I dropped the birate of this random ramble to decrease the file size. It's not like the quality was good to begin with, so you're not missing out on anything.
But don't get too excited. My surprises are rarely good surprises.

This random ramble has me talking about why I love the Wii, why I'm not sold on the PS3 and fighting the urge to go into one on why it still sucks (and will always suck) being a UK gamer.

I got too familiar with the microphone in this one. (A sign that my "podcasting" skills aren't really improving, though I claim they are in this random ramble). I need to stop talking to close to it. There are a couple of moments when I laugh and pronounce P's and it's like hearing a rocket take off from the asphalt. So you have been warned.

I should also mention that I did this random ramble earlier this week and I got the Kingdom Hearts II release date wrong. I thought it was out the day I recorded the intro, but it wasn't. I forgot games release on Friday's not Monday's. (Duh!!) That's how long it's been since I've bought a new game.

This random ramble is (as the banner states) about being a gamer in the UK and why it sucks a majority of the time. To fellow UK gamers who are checking this out, you'll probably know what I'm on about and will know what kinda stuff I'll be talking about. And to my US peeps checking this out - you'll appreciate how good you have it. I've put "1.
I mention in this random ramble how short this is and how I'd consider making them longer. HA! That was until I edited it all together and saw what the final piece clocked in at. Yeah...I will not be intentionally making these longer. So forget the bit where say I'll be doing such.
To fellow UK gamers who are checking this out, you'll probably know what I'm on about and will know what kinda stuff I'll be talking about. And to my US peeps checking this out - you'll appreciate how good you have it. I've put "1. Delays", because no doubt I'll be hopping on the mic at a later date to discuss another sucky aspect of being a gamer in the UK. I mention in this random ramble how short this is and how I'd consider making them longer. HA! That was until I edited it all together and saw what the final piece clocked in at. Yeah...I will not be intentionally making these longer. So forget the bit where say I'll be doing such. To the 2 people who listened to the last one: Here ya go. This random ramble (I'm reluctant to call it a podcast) is basically me ranting on about those games that I didn't like all that much, but I played through regardless. We've all been there, so check this out as I recall such games. The quality is bad, but I don't care. Just download the damn thing and listen to it. It won't hurt'cha ya will it?
