April is delivering a high-stakes month for streaming, headlined by the explosive final season of The Boys on Prime Video and the long-awaited premiere of The Testaments on Disney+, which brings the world of Gilead back into focus through the eyes of a new generation.

Reality fans can dive into the fresh coastal drama of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island or catch up with the chaos of The Valley on Hayu, while comedy lovers have plenty to celebrate with the return of Jean Smart in Hacks on Crave and the debut of Dan Levy’s Big Mistakes on Netflix.

From the nostalgic 20th-anniversary deep dive of The Reunion: Laguna Beach to the gritty historical ambition of King & Conqueror, this month offers a sharp mix of biting wit, prestige drama, and overdue sequels that should keep any watchlist packed.

The Valley

The Valley crew is ready to reset the vibe in season three as they navigate major life changes from babies and breakups to bold new beginnings, but the drama is never far behind. Joining the cast this season are Vanderpump Rules’ Tom Schwartz and Lala Kent.

The Valley returned on Wednesday, April 1. Airs at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo and streams on Hayu.

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island

They may live in the smallest state in the U.S., but their drama? Extra large. The Real Housewives of Rhode Island spotlights a fresh, charismatic group of women whose lives intertwine across the storied coastline of New England luxury.

Premiered on Thursday, April 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT and streams on Hayu.

Your Friends and Neighbors

The fifth and final season of The Boys is an apocalyptic climax where the world is now a playground for Homelander’s erratic, egomaniacal whims. With Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp” and Kimiko missing, a desperate Annie is left to mount a resistance against an overwhelming Supe force alone.

March was a bit of a blur, defined less by the outside world and more by the slow, steady rhythm of post-surgery recovery. While my body was busy healing, my screen became a much-needed window into other lives – ranging from the high-stakes chaos of high finance to the sun-drenched absurdity of South Florida. This past month’s watchlist was the perfect companion, offering a mix of comforting returning favourites and some truly stellar new premieres that made the couch-bound days feel a lot more like an adventure. Here is a look at what kept me occupied during my recovery. Below Deck Down Under Between The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City ladies bringing high-altitude delusions to sea level and Chef Ben treating the galley like a culinary combat zone, the crew’s tangled love lives are somehow still the messiest things on board. It’s a five-star disaster where the only thing more over-the-top than the Housewives’ demands is the sheer audacity of the yachties’ boatmance drama. Below Deck Down Under Season 4 continues to stream on Hayu. The Valley: Persian Style Even without the Shahs of Sunset backstory, it’s clear that these “suburban” lives are fueled by decades of unresolved resentment …

Even without the Shahs of Sunset backstory, it’s clear that these “suburban” lives are fueled by decades of unresolved resentment and enough Persian tea to drown a cul-de-sac.

The first season is a fascinating, chaotic introduction to a group where the Persian tea is always scalding and the only thing more fragile than the marriages is the peace during a desert trip.

Tommy and Reza are a bridge that burned, collapsed, and was then salted for good measure. Fingers crossed for a Season 2 that explores MJ’s divorce from Tommy.

The Valley: Persian Style Season 1 is streaming on Hayu.

Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette

The controversial series is a visual feast of ‘90s minimalism, trading deep substance for the high-gloss perfection of Carolyn’s (Sarah Pidgeon) sleep neutrals and John’s (Canadian Paul Anthony Kelly) signature hair.

It’s a nostalgic “time capsule” of Manhattan elite that feels more like an editorial from Vogue (or Details!), punctuated by a killer alt-rock soundtrack – from Mazzy Star to The Stone Roses – that makes the inevitable tragedy look and sound undeniably chic.

Memorable performances from the finale from Constance Zimmer (Ann Marie Messina)and Grace Gummer (Caroline Kennedy). Fans even want a series centred around Alessandro Nivola’s take on Calvin Klein.

The fourth season is a brutal high-wire act where Sir Henry Muck’s (Kit Harington) privileged world finally collapses into a drug-fueled, depressive spiral, leaving Yasmin (Marisa Abela) to trade her last shred of morality for the protection of an aristocratic name while Whitney (Max Minghella) and Rishi (Sagar Radia) spiral through their own frantic, high-stakes failures.

While the “Tender” empire implodes, Harper (Myha’la) completes her transition into a corporate phantom, weaponizing a chilling detachment that reveals her true priorities. She proves herself a creature of the trade floor entirely, appearing more fundamentally shattered by the professional loss of Eric (Ken Leung) – her true architect – than by the death of her own mother.

Industry Season 4 is streaming on Crave.

Season two is a high-stakes masterclass in atmospheric dread, successfully channeling the “glory days” of early Lost by grounding its survivalist tension in the mind-bending possibilities of quantum physics and time-loop theories. The island transforms into a metaphysical puzzle box, anchored by the magnetic arrival of Thomas Doherty and the masterful, heavy-hitting performances of Julianne Nicholson and Sterling K. Brown, who bring a grounded gravitas to the cosmic chaos.

While Shailene Woodley’s brilliant guest arc is tragically brief, her presence adds a searing emotional weight to the increasingly wild temporal shifts. It is a season that proves the show is at its best when it treats its survivors like pawns in a scientific game of chess, balancing the frantic search for answers with the chilling realization that “the variables” are finally catching up to the constants.

Michelle Pfeiffer delivers a hauntingly luminous performance as Stacy Clyburn, capturing the jagged, unvarnished reality of a grieving widow whose world has been upended by sudden tragedy. She anchors the series with a “steely” grace, proving that even in the vast expanse of Montana, the smallest tremors of loss are the hardest to navigate.

Meanwhile, Canadian Patrick J. Adams undergoes a total stylistic pivot from the brilliant, fast-talking confidence of Suits‘ Mike Ross to play Russell McIntosh – a “constitutionally helpless” investment banker who is hilariously out of his element without WiFi and a wine list. It’s a refreshing departure that trades courtroom heroics for the comedic frustration of a big-city “suit” drowning in a sea of rural sensibilities.

The Madison streams on Paramount+ and a second season has already been filmed.

Seeing Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Chalke back together at Sacred Heart has been the ultimate “soul food” for recovery; there is something incredibly comforting about the way their chemistry hasn’t aged a day, even as they navigate life as the “old guard” mentors.

Scott Speedman delivers a masterclass in “shaggy-dog” charisma, trading his signature brooding intensity for a refreshing, comedic turn as a disgraced photographer-turned-PI who is as sharp with a dry one-liner as he is behind a lens.

In a brilliant departure from his usual dramatic fare, Speedman finds the perfect balance between South Florida noir and slapstick absurdity, proving he’s at his best when playing a man whose life is as messy and humid as the Everglades cases he’s trying to solve.

Don’t let the title fool you – this isn’t just a raunchy suburban satire, but a surprisingly tender “suburban noir” that trades cheap thrills for a deeply weird, high-stakes study of middle-age malaise and accidental crime.

The HBO series stars Jason Bateman as a twitchy weatherman, David Harbour as a husband and father who wants to do better, and Linda Cardellini as a potentially nuanced “Midwestern femme fatale.”

DTF St. Louis continues on Crave.

Co-created by Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso, Scrubs) and Matt Tarses, this “suburban-academic” comedy follows a messy, middle-aged novelist who becomes a writer-in-residence at a New England college to reconnect with his adult daughter. It’s a classic “fish-out-of-water” setup that trades the soccer pitch for an ivory tower, promising a mix of high-brow wit and the creators’ signature heartfelt optimism.

Steve Carell returns to his comedic roots with a masterclass in “lovable awkwardness,” perfectly balanced by the sharp, grounded energy of Charly Clive and a standout Danielle Deadwyler (who will next star in Ryan Coogler’s reboot of The X-Files). While the slapstick occasionally veers into farce, the series finds its soul in the crackling chemistry between its veteran cast – including a delightfully blowhard John C. McGinley (Dr. Cox on Scrubs) and a smarmy, scene-stealing Phil Dunster (Jamie Tartt on Ted Lasso) – proving that “failing upward” is always more entertaining when the pedigree is this high.

The Comeback is a cringe-comedy masterpiece following the perpetually resilient, wonderfully misguided Valerie Cherish (Lisa Kudrow) as she navigates Hollywood’s indignities for a documentary crew. Catching up on the first two seasons this past month was the perfect primer for her long-awaited return.

After a decade away, Valerie is back for a final chapter where she tackles the ultimate industry threat: starring in a sitcom written entirely by Artificial Intelligence. It is fantastic to have Kudrow back on screen, and I can’t wait to see how she navigates this brave new digital world.

HBO’s The Comeback streams on Crave.

The first two episodes of Saturday Night Live UK successfully translate the iconic format with a biting British edge, anchored by George Fouracres’ pitch-perfect, “exhausted headmaster” take on Keir Starmer. Jack Shep is an early standout, stealing every sketch with a hilariously surreal and “disturbingly good” Princess Diana that has already gone viral.

Weekend Update has quickly become the show’s sharpest weapon, as Paddy Young and Ania Magliano deliver a modern, acidic chemistry. Their ruthless roasting of Prince Andrew proves that while the studio feels familiar, the humour possesses a darker, quintessentially British sting.

Bait

Riz Ahmed’s Bait is a high-wire meta-satire that uses the ingenious premise of a “James Bond” audition to deconstruct the crushing weight of representation. It transforms a struggling actor’s pursuit of 007 into a hallucinatory, often hilarious “identity circus” where the line between career-making dream and cultural sell-out becomes dangerously blurred.

The series is a sonic and visual marvel, anchored by Shruti Kumar’s atmospheric score and a curated soundtrack that bridges generations – weaving together 1970s Indian film music, vintage Qawwali, and modern UK hits. It is a bold, rhythmic exploration of British-South Asian identity that proves some of the best spy stories happen far away from the MI6 headquarters.

Bait is streaming on Prime Video.

The SNL Global Footprint

While this marks a major UK milestone, the franchise has seen a Canadian iteration before. SNL Québec originally ran from 2014 to 2025, followed by a special one-episode revival in January 2018.

Meanwhile, the flagship U.S. version of Saturday Night Live – currently in its 51st season – is set to resume on April 4. That episode will feature host Jack Black and musical guest Jack White, airing at 11:30 p.m. ET on Global and NBC.

Saturday Night Live UK premieres Saturday, March 21 at 10 p.m. on Sky in the UK and CTV Comedy Channel in Canada , with episodes available for streaming the next day on Crave in Canada. Peacock will stream SNL UK in the U.S.

From the Shakespearian power struggles of Succession to the high-stakes survival of The Lion King, natural history filmmaking is entering a visceral new era with the arrival of Kingdom. Spent over an unprecedented five years in the heart of Zambia’s Nsefu Sector, the series trades traditional nature vignettes for a “bingeable” narrative centered on the shifting fortunes of four rival animal families. Executive Producer Mike Gunton to discuss the “white-knuckle ride” of capturing these overlapping lives, why the legendary Sir David Attenborough is the essential guide for such a raw journey, and why he’s firmly “Team Olimba” when it comes to the show’s breakout leopard star. What sets Kingdom apart from other NHU (Natural History Unit) series? If I had to pick one word to describe Kingdom it would be ‘intensity’. It’s almost Shakespearean in its feel, and it’s incredibly ambitious in its scale. It’s a story that speaks across the ages because it focuses on four families in one location all struggling to survive. They’ve got their internal struggles, but they’ve also got struggles against the other rival families. And this creates a really intriguing tapestry of rich stories. It’s high drama – it’s got a bit of Game …

It’s high drama – it’s got a bit of Game of Thrones, it’s got a bit of Succession, but it’s also got a bit of The Lion King. But Kingdom also has this wonderful warmth about it. It can be quite a white-knuckle ride at times, but there are also some wonderful moments of beauty and tenderness. We’ve tried to construct it as a bingeable continuing narrative.

We filmed over five years, which is the longest we have ever continuously filmed in one location, and that in itself is quite an achievement. There are of course risks to putting all your eggs in one basket by focusing solely on one location, but it has absolutely paid off with Kingdom.

We worked closely with the local scientists and conservationists on the ground in Nsefu. A lot of them have been there for generations, so they know all the stories, the backgrounds and the family lineages of all the main players. That gives us a huge advantage in figuring out what’s going on between these four families.

What can audiences expect to see?

From the start when we’re parachuted into this extraordinary location, it’s in complete turmoil. The lion pride, which has previously been dominant, has depleted and suddenly, out of nowhere, a family of wild dogs arrives on the scene and creates utter chaos. We see this unfold through the eyes of all the main players. We get to see it through the eyes of this wonderful leopard, Olimba, who has been in Nsefu for all her life and seen all manner of things come and go. We have a hyena family and then a lion family which has depleted in numbers and has lost its ‘mojo’.

Over five episodes, we see how the power of these rival families waxes and wanes. We start off with the dogs in the ascendant, and then something happens to them, and then suddenly the hyenas are in the ascendant, but then something happens to them… So you’re constantly caught in this rollercoaster of shifting power dynamics. It’s a bit like watching the top of the Premier League, like a leaderboard of who’s winning and who’s losing. You’ve got this constant sense of wondering what’s going to happen next. And I think as you watch it you begin to start rooting for a team, but what’s strange is that you’ll probably also switch teams as the story goes on. One minute you’re team lion, the next you might be team hyena.

I don’t think anybody’s ever tried to tell this story from so many different perspectives. And the thing that I think is really exciting about it is that it doesn’t feel like you’re creating this in the cutting room. It feels very real, very observed and very of the moment. You don’t feel the hand of the filmmaker as such – it feels authentic and very visceral. Even though it’s filmed beautifully, it almost feels like you’re watching everything unfold through CCTV.

There are some real gut-churning moments in Kingdom, but then also some very warm and tender family moments. For you, do you have a particular highlight from the show?

I think the moment that we meet Olimba, and you see this beautiful leopard with her young cubs, and you’re lulled into this very idyllic moment of wonderful natural history. Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, these wild dogs come in like a rampaging army and turn everything upside down. They chase all the prey around, Olimba has to disappear – even the elephants are freaked out. It’s a very dramatic incident.

If you were writing a drama, that’s the kind of moment you would want to write into the script. That sets the scene of the series so powerfully. I think that’s a favourite moment for me.

If you had to pick, are you Team Lion, Team Leopard, Team Wild Dog or Team Hyena?

Oh, team Olimba, definitely! Of all these animals, she’s at the bottom of the pecking order. We think of leopards as these beautiful and very powerful animals, but actually because they’re solitary, they find it quite tough in an environment surrounded by these other multi-individual animal families and packs.

These families have the numbers, which is essentially a kind of power which Olimba never has, so she’s always having to bob and weave between them all. But she’s so clever, she’s so accomplished and she’s such a survivor. I love the fact that throughout all this turmoil and the ups and downs of all these other players coming and going, retreating, and the rest of it, throughout all of that, she’s still there.

She nurtures, yet she also then has to give out some tough love, and then she also has to look after herself, and then she has to try and find a male. She has to be clever, she has to make difficult decisions about herself and her family, which I think are very empathetic.

What do you hope audiences take away from Kingdom?

I want audiences to marvel at these animals and the intensity of their day to day lives in Nsefu. I want audiences to witness the determination of these animals to do what it takes to survive and do the best they can for themselves and their families. It’s quite reflective of our own lives. We have our own ups and downs, but these animals, every single day, are having to make intense life of death decisions. They have such resilience. I think it’s very uplifting in that way. Of course, it’s a tough watch at times but ultimately, it’s about resilience, hope, and success.

Having spent so much time observing these animals and filming them, we’re seeing amazing bits of animal behaviour that people have never seen on television before, like wild dogs working together to force hyenas off a kill.

I think there’s a lot we can learn from the show on animal behaviour. I believe audiences will learn more about Africa and East African predators from Kingdom than anywhere else. These predators are top of the food chain and what they do influences the whole ecosystem, like a pyramid, it trickles down.

The stars of our show are of course our four rival families, but we’ll see all sorts of other creatures, from hippos to storks and crocodiles. There’s lots of supporting characters who have important roles to play.

What does it mean to have Sir David Attenborough narrate the series?

I’ve worked with David for many years, and every show I’ve worked with him on he always brings that important ingredient. It’s more than just being the voice, whether that’s authenticity, intensity, or whether that’s humour. Kingdom is not a fairy story, it’s a very real story. And I think you need David with you to guide you through it and to reassure you that it will be all right in the end.

There’s going to be some ups and downs, but it’s worth the journey. I suppose it’s just having him hold your hand, saying, this is going to be a bumpy ride, but stick with it, it’s going to be amazing. And he does that so brilliantly. Nsefu is a dynamic place, stuff happens completely out of the blue and things are constantly changing. It’s sometimes rough and raw, but it’s also gorgeous and beautiful. Having David there brings that safety.

Kingdom airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on BBC Earth. The first two episodes are now streaming on BBC Earth via Prime Video Channels. There is a nationwide Free Preview of BBC Earth running through April 30.
