On the surface Trevor Burns is a pretty average kind of guy. He’s married, he has a daughter and he works in IT. On the whole he was leading a pretty normal life until one day he found himself in a situation that was anything but normal and he responded in a way that was anything but average.

What goes on inside the mind of someone when their next action could mean the difference between life or death for themselves and people around them? Why do some people run towards danger while others flee? What makes a hero? They’re just some of the questions that we’re going to dive into in the pilot podcast of This Is Science.
