S.U.F Helsinki Vetehinen Blue Spectrolite brings Finnish stone to the wrist

S.U.F Helsinki (Sarpaneva Uhren Fabrik), the watch line founded by Finnish watchmaker Stepan Sarpaneva to offer a more accessible expression of his design philosophy, introduces the Vetehinen Blue Spectrolite, a limited-edition interpretation of its Vetehinen model featuring a dial made from Finnish spectrolite, a rare variety of labradorite found naturally only in the Ylämaa region of Finland.

Spectrolite was discovered in 1940 during the construction of Finland’s extensive defensive line in the east. Hidden within the country’s ancient bedrock, the stone is distinguished by its pronounced play of colour, which changes according to the light.

On the Vetehinen Blue, the selected stones range from deep blue tones reminiscent of Finnish lakes to darker, almost midnight shades, with occasional flashes of colour recalling the northern lights. As each stone is naturally different, no two dials are identical.

The 42 mm stainless steel case is made from high-grade Finnish Outokumpu steel, specified as SUPRA 316L/4435. It measures 11.45 mm in thickness and 51 mm from lug to lug.

A 2.05 mm-thick sapphire crystal with multi-layer anti-reflective coating on the inside protects the dial, while the case is water resistant to 30 ATM (approximately 300 metres / 1,000 feet).

The case is fitted with a unidirectional rotating bezel incorporating a luminescent dot at 12 o’clock made of Swiss Lumicast material for enhanced legibility.

A screw-down Sarpaneva crown completes the construction, while the stainless steel caseback keeps the overall design relatively restrained.

The spectrolite dial is paired with two-tone steel Sarpaneva hands treated with Super-LumiNova and silver-coloured printing.

The stone’s natural variations provide the dominant visual element, with the blue surface changing in appearance as the watch is viewed from different angles and under different lighting conditions.

Powering the Vetehinen Blue Spectrolite is a modified Soprod A10 automatic calibre. The 11.5-line movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), contains 25 jewels and provides a power reserve of 42 hours.

Its finishing combines rhodium plating with perlage and Côtes de Genève decoration. The movement drives central hours, minutes and seconds.

The watch is delivered on a handmade black Nordic elk-leather strap with a heavy-duty construction, together with an additional blue Grassbay strap. Both options use an 18 mm S.U.F Helsinki-engraved buckle, while the case has 20 mm lug spacing.

Arnold & Son Constant Force Tourbillon 11 Platinum: A tribute to two watchmaking pioneers

The Constant Force Tourbillon 11 Platinum by Arnold & Son draws on the historic relationship between John Arnold and Abraham-Louis Breguet, expressed through a contemporary tourbillon equipped with Arnold & Son’s constant-force mechanism.

Produced in a limited edition of 11 pieces, the watch also reflects Arnold’s Cornish origins through a hand-engraved dial inspired by the fern-covered moors around Tintagel, his birthplace.

The platinum case measures 41.5 mm in diameter and 13.7 mm in thickness, with a rounded profile and a fine bezel framing the domed sapphire crystal.

Both the front and rear crystals receive anti-reflective coating on both sides, while water resistance is rated to 30 metres / 100 feet.

The solid 18-carat yellow-gold dial is hand-engraved using the “tremblé” technique, in which a burin traces deliberately irregular zigzag patterns across the surface.

A white opal hour and minute subdial is integrated into the dial, while openings also reveal the constant-force mechanism and its gold bridge.

The true-beat seconds are indicated by the tip of a hand-blued anchor, which also forms part of the constant-force mechanism.

Positioned between the main gear train and the tourbillon, Arnold & Son’s patented constant-force mechanism is designed to maintain a stable supply of energy to the regulating organ throughout the movement’s 100-hour power reserve.

The system replaces the fusée-and-chain architecture traditionally used in John Arnold’s chronometers and also enables the true-beat seconds display, with the mechanism re-arming its spring at one-second intervals.

The A&S5219 is a manually wound manufacture calibre measuring 33 mm in diameter and 10.48 mm in thickness. It operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and contains 35 jewels.

Its finishing includes a grained and polished main plate, hand-engraved barrel bridge, polished angles, blued and chamfered screws, and a combination of polished, satin-finished and rhodium-plated components.

Through the sapphire case back, the architecture and finishing of the movement can be examined, including the one-minute tourbillon tourbillon and the hand-engraved barrel bridge.

The tourbillon cage follows the design of the tourbillon in Breguet’s historical regulator, with a rounded, mirror-polished bridge and a variable-inertia balance inspired by John Arnold’s chronometers.

A further engraved inscription pays tribute to John Arnold and Abraham-Louis Breguet, explicitly recalling their friendship and shared contribution to chronometry.

MeisterSinger unveils the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue

Among the watches that have marked MeisterSinger’s history, the enamel edition introduced in 2004 occupies a particular place. Created around the brand’s distinctive single-hand display and a large Unitas pocket-watch movement, it combined traditional dial craftsmanship with the straightforward mechanical character that has long defined MeisterSinger.

The model returned in a new form last May as part of the celebrations of the brand’s 25th anniversary as the Edition Unitas 1Z, which reproduced the essential character of its predecessor with a genuine white enamel dial and a highly decorated Unitas 6497 movement.

MeisterSinger now extends the anniversary edition with the Edition Unitas 1Z Blue, introducing a light blue enamel dial that also marks the first use of coloured enamel for one of the brand’s dials.

The light blue enamel is complemented by black, medium blue and red details, creating a restrained colour palette around the single heat-blued steel hand.

The production of the enamel dial begins with finely ground enamel powder applied to a copper base, followed by multiple firings at temperatures of around 800°C.

Each firing can affect the final result, with variations in temperature or duration potentially causing the dial to crack, warp or become unusable. The process therefore requires considerable experience and results in a high rejection rate.

Measuring 40 mm in diameter, the stainless-steel case was developed specifically for the Edition Unitas 1Z and is fitted with a sapphire crystal and a sapphire exhibition case back.

Water resistance is rated to 50 metres / 165 feet. The proportions allow the large Unitas movement to occupy much of the case, making its architecture particularly prominent when viewed through the back.

The hand-wound ETA/Unitas 6497 operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of approximately 46 hours. For this edition, the movement is decorated with Geneva stripes and blued screws and is fitted with a swan-neck fine-adjustment regulator.

Its traditional pocket-watch architecture complements MeisterSinger’s signature single-hand time display.

Alongside the Clifton Baumatic Perpetual Calendar 40mm, Baume & Mercier has also introduced a more essential, time-and-date iteration in the same ice-blue execution: the Clifton Baumatic 39mm.

Housed in a compact stainless steel case powered by the manufacture’s five-day Baumatic movement, the model emphasizes the collection’s refined proportions, finishing, and everyday functionality.

The 39 mm case measures 11.22 mm in thickness and combines polished and satin-finished surfaces with a domed sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides.

The integrated crown follows the profile of the case, while the sapphire crystal case back is secured by four screws and bears a dedicated “Limited Edition” engraving. Water resistance is rated to 50 metres / 165 feet.

The ice-blue dial shares the same guilloché treatment found on the perpetual calendar model, but its simpler layout gives the pattern greater visual prominence.

A black crosshair marks the centre, while the snailed minute track is framed by rhodium-plated trapezoidal indexes and slightly elongated Arabic numerals at 12 o’clock.

Faceted alpha-shaped hour and minute hands and a rhodium-plated seconds hand complete the display, with a tone-on-tone date indication positioned at 6 o’clock.

Inside is the manufacture self-winding Baumatic calibre BM13-1975 A. Measuring 4.2 mm in thickness, the movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), contains 21 jewels, and provides a power reserve of 120 hours.

Its decoration includes circular-grained bridges, a sandblasted plate with snailed decoration, and an open-worked oscillating weight adorned with Côtes de Genève and snailed finishes. Dedicated Baume & Mercier engravings complete the movement, which is visible through the sapphire case back.

The Clifton Baumatic 39mm is fitted with an integrated three-row stainless steel bracelet combining polished and satin-finished surfaces. Its interchangeable-bar system allows the bracelet to be removed without tools, secured by a triple-folding stainless steel buckle with security push-pieces.

Kiwame Tokyo Yane draws inspiration from the temple roofs of Asakusa

Kiwame Tokyo introduces Yane, a watch whose design takes its cues from the traditional temple roofs of Asakusa, the Tokyo district where the independent brand was born.

The name Yane, meaning “roof” in Japanese, refers not to a single architectural feature but to the characteristic forms of traditional Japanese roofs as seen from different perspectives.

The case profile echoes the sweeping silhouette of a temple roof when viewed from the side, while the upper and lower lug sections incorporate a three-dimensional pattern inspired by the rhythmic rows of roof tiles.

At 12 o’clock, the signature index takes the form of the mune, the ridge marking the highest point of a traditional roof.

The architectural theme continues across the case. Even the portion of the case back that extends slightly beyond the case is patterned after the taruki, the exposed rafters visible beneath traditional temple eaves.

In this way, the design distributes the same architectural references across the case profile, lugs, dial and case back rather than treating them as decorative motifs applied to an otherwise conventional watch.

Yane is offered with either a black lacquer dial, designated as Kuro under reference KT401, or a traditional Japanese burgundy lacquer dial, designated as Enji under reference KT402.

Paired with colour-matched Italian calf-leather straps, these two executions share the same architectural case design, relying on their colourways for visual distinction.

The watch has a compact 26.5 mm-wide 316L stainless-steel case with a 44 mm lug-to-lug length and a thickness of 9.7 mm.

A sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating protects the dial, while a push/pull crown and 30-metre water resistance complete the case construction.

Powering Yane is a Japan-made Miyota Calibre 6T27 automatic movement, regulated by Kiwame Tokyo. Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it offers a power reserve of approximately 40 hours.

The Richard Mille RM 17-02 Manual Winding Tourbillon combines the brand’s characteristic tonneau-shaped case with a highly open dial that gives the tourbillon and mechanical components a prominent role in the design.

We recently had the opportunity to handle this exceptional timepiece at the Richard Mille boutique in Milan, where we could appreciate its proportions, materials and intricate mechanical construction first-hand.

We are now delighted to share a selection of live pictures of the watch with our readers.

Based on the RM017 tourbillon calibre, the watch displays the hours, minutes, power reserve and winding function through a combination of titanium, ceramic and red gold.

The contrasting materials and finishes add depth to this distinctive interpretation of the tourbillon.

The 48.15 x 40.10 mm case measures 13.08 mm thick. Its front and back bezels are made from black TZP (Tetragonal Zirconia Polycrystal) ceramic, while the caseband is crafted in contrasting 5N red gold.

TZP ceramic combines extreme resistance to scratches with a very low coefficient of thermal conductivity. It also allows for a perfect finish with brushing or microblasting and hand polished anglage.

The tripartite construction is protected by sapphire crystals and offers water resistance to 50 metres / 165 feet.

At the front, Grade 5 titanium bridges frame the gear train, while the 12.30 mm tourbillon is positioned at 6 o’clock.

Black, cobalt blue, gold and microblasted titanium surfaces create a varied palette across the exposed components, with each finish contributing to the watch’s technical character.

Above this construction, the sapphire dial incorporates a black-treated Grade 5 titanium flange with a contrasting white minute track and Richard Mille signature. Its transparency preserves the depth of the mechanism beneath, while bridges, wheels and the tourbillon cage remain clearly visible.

The manually wound RM017 movement operates at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and provides a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Its fast-rotating barrel makes one revolution every six hours, rather than the conventional seven and a half, contributing to the movement’s rate stability.

Two additional indications are integrated into the design. At 2 o’clock, the power-reserve indicator shows the remaining energy in the mainspring, while the function indicator at 4 o’clock displays the crown position: H for hand-setting, N for neutral and W for winding.

The function indicator is operated through the crown, with the hand moving between the three positions as the crown is pulled out. A torque-limiting system protects the winding mechanism from excessive force.

The RM 17-02 Manual Winding Tourbillon is fitted with a rubber strap matching the watch’s contemporary technical character, completing the combination of materials and finishes used throughout the design.

IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet marks 140 years of Mercedes-Benz

IWC marks Mercedes-Benz’s 140th anniversary with a limited-edition Big Pilot’s Watch featuring the brand’s new Perpetual Calendar ProSet mechanism, an entirely gear-driven system designed to simplify the adjustment of the perpetual calendar introduced earlier this year on the occasion of Watches and Wonders Geneva.

Limited to 140 pieces, the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar ProSet 140 Years Mercedes-Benz (ref. IW329603) combines a 42 mm stainless steel case, measuring 14 mm in thickness, with a black dial featuring solid gold appliqués, gold-plated hands, and a white minute track.

The convex sapphire crystal is treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides, while a screw-in crown and 10-bar water resistance complete the case construction.

The perpetual calendar indications are arranged across four sub-dials, with the date at 3 o’clock, the month at 6 o’clock, the day of the week at 9 o’clock and the moon phase at 12 o’clock.

A four-digit year display is positioned between 7 and 8 o’clock.

The moon-phase mechanism is based on a newly calculated reduction gear that requires only a one-day correction after 1,040 years, while IWC’s Double Moon display shows the correct lunar phase for both the northern and southern hemispheres.

The main technical distinction of the ProSet system lies in the way the calendar is adjusted. Developed as a gear-based mechanism protected by four patents, it allows the indications to be moved both forward and backward through a single crown position.

Unlike conventional perpetual calendars, no additional correctors or separate crown positions are required for calendar adjustment, making the operation similar to setting the time.

Behind this simplified operation is a complex construction involving components with intricate geometries. IWC manufactures these elements using LIGA, a microstructuring process based on lithography and electroforming.

The Perpetual Calendar ProSet therefore represents not a new calendar display, but a different approach to interacting with the complication.

The system is driven by the IWC-manufactured calibre 82665, an automatic movement operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and containing 34 jewels.

Its bidirectional Pellaton winding system uses ceramic components, while a nickel-phosphorus escapement and silicon hairspring form part of the regulating system. The movement provides a power reserve of 60 hours and features small hacking seconds.

The sapphire-glass case back provides a view of the movement and carries a historic Mercedes-Benz emblem.

The logo, introduced in 1926 following the merger of Daimler Motoren-Gesellschaft and Benz & Cie., combined the laurel wreath associated with Benz with Daimler’s three-pointed star, linking the watch to the history of the two companies that came together to form Mercedes-Benz.

The watch is fitted with a black rubber strap incorporating IWC’s EasX-CHANGE system, allowing the strap to be exchanged without tools.

The combination of the Big Pilot’s Watch case, perpetual calendar and new adjustment mechanism places the model within IWC’s long-running collaboration with Mercedes-Benz, which began with Mercedes-AMG in 2004 and later extended to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team and other special editions.

Singer Reimagined Heritage V72 brings the Valjoux 72 back to life

Singer Reimagined expands its Heritage collection with the new Heritage V72, a pair of limited-edition chronographs built around restored Valjoux 72 movements.

The collection introduces Singer’s restoration approach to one of the most recognised manual-winding chronograph calibres of the 20th century, combining its original architecture with contemporary case and dial design and movement finishing carried out by Singer.

The Heritage V72 is offered in two versions.

The Heritage V72 SR620-1 Gold combines an 18-carat yellow-gold 1N case with a velvety deep-black dial, while the stainless-steel Heritage V72 SR621 Stone-Gray uses the same compact case dimensions with a stone-grey dial.

Both cases measure 38.8 mm in diameter and 13.25 mm in height and feature a double sapphire crystal glass-box construction, with anti-reflective coating on the crystals.

Water resistance is rated to 50 metres / 165 feet.

The two dials retain the traditional three-register configuration of the Valjoux 72 while interpreting it through Singer’s design language.

The gold version combines the matte black surface with champagne azurage counters, golden applied elements and a toothed flange, while the steel model uses a matte stone-grey dial with oyster azurage.

Both feature faceted hour markers, mirror-polished applied elements and rhodium-plated hour and minute hands with orange Super-LumiNova, complemented by an orange central chronograph seconds hand with an integrated gold cabochon.

The crown is positioned at 3 o’clock, with the chronograph pushers at 2 and 4 o’clock.

The gold SR620-1 is paired with a black grained natural-leather strap with brown stitching and an 18-carat 1N gold pin buckle, while the SR621 comes on a grey textile strap with grey stitching, natural-leather loops and a stainless-steel pin buckle.

Both straps taper from 20 to 16 mm.

At the centre of the Heritage V72 is the Singer SG7201 calibre, based on an original, unassembled Valjoux 72 movement.

Rather than simply preserving the historic calibre, Singer subjects each movement to a complete restoration process, beginning with the disassembly and inspection of every component before the parts are refinished and the movement is rebuilt.

The manually wound movement operates at 18,000 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz) and measures 29.5 mm in diameter and 6.5 mm in thickness.

Its 166 components include 17 jewels, while the power reserve is approximately 44 hours with the chronograph disengaged and 24 hours when it is running.

The movement retains the classic Valjoux 72 configuration, with central chronograph seconds, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o’clock and running seconds at 9 o’clock.

Singer’s restoration process goes beyond cleaning and replacing worn components. The bridges receive a frosted finish, their edges are hand-polished, and selected components are rhodium-plated.

A blue ALD treatment is applied to the switch component as a discreet contemporary detail. The restored calibre is then assembled by Singer’s watchmakers, with each movement carrying a “Restored by Singer” inscription marking its return to service.

Through the sapphire glass-box case back, the resulting movement is fully exposed, revealing the layered construction of the Valjoux 72 and the contrast between its frosted bridges, polished chamfers and rhodium-plated components.

Restoration thus becomes part of the visual identity of the watch rather than remaining a process hidden from the wearer.

Akhor Nour La Lumière adds a Day/Night complication to its patented architecture

Akhor is an independent Geneva-based watchmaking Maison founded by Anissa Bader, whose family owns Clamax, the Geneva-based micromechanical company founded in 1988. Bader has led Clamax since 2020, bringing the company’s technical expertise into the development of Akhor’s watches.

Nour La Lumière, the latest addition to the inaugural collection Le Temps en Équilibre, adds a Day/Night complication to Akhor’s patented dual-disc architecture.

The name refers to the Arabic word “Nour”, meaning “light”, which appears discreetly hand-engraved in Arabic script on the case back.

The 24-hour display depicts the changing light of a desert landscape, with dunes, stars and a dromedary and rider gradually appearing as the disc rotates.

The Day/Night indication adds a third disc to Akhor’s patented construction. Completing one full rotation every 24 hours, the large disc depicts the transition between day and night through hand-engraved dunes, a moon and stars rendered in bas-relief.

A dromedary and rider cross the miniature landscape, hand-painted by a specialist artisan on a surface measured in millimetres. As the disc rotates, the scene changes continuously, turning the passage of the sky into a dynamic indication rather than a conventional static display.

Integrating the additional disc required the movement architecture to be recalculated to account for its mass, equilibrium and energy requirements.

Each of the three discs occupies a precisely defined position within the 12.5 mm-thick case, with tolerances measured to hundredths of a millimetre.

Much of the character of Nour La Lumière comes from the handcraft applied to the display.

The Day/Night disc is engraved entirely by hand, with the dunes, moon and stars individually sculpted in relief.

Depending on the version, the disc is made either from 5N gold or platinum, materials that respond differently to the engraving tools and to the surrounding light.

The miniature-painted dromedary and rider require the application of multiple layers of colour, with backgrounds, volumes, highlights and shadows built up sequentially using brushes made with only a few bristles.

The watch is housed in a 40 mm cushion-shaped case measuring 12.5 mm in thickness and is available in 18-carat 5N red gold or platinum.

Both versions feature a polished bezel set with 120 baguette-cut diamonds totalling 4.85 carats. The diamond setting extends to the folding clasp, which is matched to a hand-stitched blue alligator leather strap.

A sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating protects the dial, while water resistance is rated to 30 metres / 100 feet.

At the heart of the watch is the AK10, a hand-wound mechanical calibre developed exclusively for Akhor and manufactured by Clamax.

Conceived from the outset as an evolving architecture capable of accommodating additional complications, the movement measures 31.3 mm in diameter and 3.9 mm in thickness.

Its 126 components include 12 jewels, while the variable-inertia balance operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and provides a power reserve of 60 hours. Hacking seconds is also provided for precise time-setting.

Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, the movement is decorated with anglage, fan-shaped Côtes de Genève, finished wheels and distinctive cushion-shaped screws.

The calibre and completed watch are subject to several levels of certification: the movement is COSC chronometer certified, while the components meet the requirements of the Poinçon de Genève and the finished timepiece is certified by the Observatoire Chronométrique de Genève.

The Akhor Nour La Lumière is produced in a series of 10 pieces, divided equally between the 5N gold and platinum versions. Baume & Mercier’s Clifton collection gains a new limited-edition interpretation centred on the manufacture’s Baumatic movement and a perpetual calendar complication.

The Clifton Baumatic Perpetual Calendar 40mm follows the redesign of the Clifton introduced in 2025, which refined the proportions of the collection while retaining its references to Baume & Mercier watches of the 1950s.

The 40 mm stainless steel case measures 12.9 mm in thickness and combines polished and satin-finished surfaces with a domed sapphire crystal treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides.

An integrated crown follows the lines of the case, while the sapphire crystal case back is secured by four screws and bears a dedicated “Limited Edition” engraving. Water resistance is rated to 50 metres / 165 feet.

Cleguer Inspiration One debuts with a new proprietary escapement

A new independent name enters the world of haute horlogerie with a clear focus on chronometric innovation.

Founded by Swiss watchmaking engineer Mathieu Cleguer, Cleguer Horology makes its debut with the Inspiration One Souscription, a manually wound timepiece developed around a proprietary escapement and an architecture conceived to reveal the mechanics that matter while deliberately leaving others hidden from view.

Rather than launching an extensive collection, Mathieu Cleguer begins with a single watch intended to establish the technical and aesthetic foundations of the brand.

Created in collaboration with designer Lee Yuen-Rapati, the Inspiration One combines traditional decorative techniques with contemporary movement engineering, placing chronometric performance at the centre of its philosophy.

Housed in a 38.5 mm titanium case measuring 12 mm in thickness and water-resistant to 30 metres / 100 feet, the Inspiration One presents a striking three-dimensional movement architecture where the calibre itself becomes part of the dial.

An off-centred Grand Feu champlevé enamel subdial positioned at 2 o'clock displays the hours and minutes, while an elongated central seconds hand sweeps across the movement.

Lettering has intentionally been kept to a minimum, with the brand name engraved discreetly inside the case flank rather than displayed prominently on the dial.

A snailed barrel occupies the left side of the dial and incorporates a 36-hour power reserve indicator, while an oversized 12.9 mm balance wheel, beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz), dominates the lower section of the display.

The movement has been designed to create a strong sense of depth, descending through multiple visual layers from the central seconds to the barrel bridge and finally to the mainplate.

Components crafted from nickel silver receive champagne and rhodium finishes that accentuate the architecture while preserving an overall restrained appearance.

Turning the watch over reveals the remaining mechanical landscape, including the gear train together with an oversized ratchet and click system topped by a Maltese Cross stopwork.

Rarely encountered in contemporary wristwatches, this mechanism intentionally limits the usable power reserve to 36 hours, ensuring that torque delivered to the escapement remains more consistent throughout the running period and contributing to improved chronometric stability.

At the heart of the movement lies the proprietary Innate Escapement, the result of five years of research and development.

Conceived as a modern reinterpretation of the historic natural escapement, it resolves that system's well-known inability to self-start.

Instead of relying on direct impulse transmission, Mathieu Cleguer developed an indirect tangential impulse delivered through a central lever, combining the dual escape-wheel architecture of the natural escapement with principles derived from Charles Fasoldt's escapement. The result improves efficiency while incorporating a hacking seconds mechanism for precise time setting.

Several subtle details reflect Mathieu Cleguer's personal inspiration.

The deep purple colour selected for the inaugural Souscription series expresses a shade he associates with creativity, depth and refinement, while the three dots positioned beneath the 12 o'clock marker reference both his Breton heritage and the three principal elements visible on the dial: the barrel, the enamel dial and the oversized balance wheel.

Cleguer Horology has chosen a deliberately limited production strategy, capping the Inspiration One at just 60 pieces in total. The first 12 titanium 'Souscription' watches, priced at an indicative €98,500, have already been allocated to collectors, with deliveries scheduled for the second half of 2026.

Beyond this inaugural series, the model will be produced in batches of 12 across four additional case metals, including 20 movements reserved for bespoke commissions.

In total, only 80 Inspiration One watches will be manufactured, with additional components retained to ensure long-term servicing and support for collectors.

TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa inspired by the Roadmaster Stopwatch

TAG Heuer has unveiled a new limited edition created in collaboration with Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department.

Produced in a limited edition of 150 individually numbered pieces, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph x Team Ikuzawa draws inspiration from one of the most recognisable objects preserved in the Japanese racing team's archives: the Roadmaster stopwatch, whose bold graphics became a defining element of Team Ikuzawa's visual identity during the 1970s and 1980s.

Founded in 1981, Team Ikuzawa has become one of Japan's most distinctive names in motorsport. Today, under the direction of Mai Ikuzawa, the team has expanded its influence beyond the racetrack, combining its racing heritage with contemporary design through collaborations spanning fashion, art and luxury.

For this project, Mai Ikuzawa worked alongside George Bamford, whose reinterpretation of iconic watches has earned him a distinctive place in contemporary watch design.

Based on the 39 mm TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox, the watch retains the elegant proportions and bezel-free architecture that characterise the collection.

Crafted in fine-brushed and polished stainless steel, the case offers water resistance to 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet) and is topped by a domed sapphire "Glassbox" crystal with double anti-reflective coating, providing an uninterrupted view of the dial and flange.

The dial receives a complete Team Ikuzawa treatment. Finished in white with a Clou de Paris texture, it echoes the team's historic colour scheme while adopting a highly graphic appearance inspired by the original Roadmaster stopwatch.

Traditional applied hour markers give way to printed black numeral indexes, reinforcing the instrument-like character of the design.

Red accents play a central role throughout the watch. The faceted hour and minute hands feature red lacquer together with white Super-LumiNova, while the central chronograph seconds hand is entirely lacquered in red.

The minute chronograph counter at 3 o'clock is also printed in red, contrasted by a rhodium-plated hand, while the hour chronograph counter at 9 o'clock combines white printing with a red hand.

Even the angled date display at 6 o'clock receives a dedicated red date disc, beneath the printed "Carrera" and "Team Ikuzawa" signatures.

The absence of a running seconds display is made possible by the Manufacture TH20-10 automatic chronograph movement, allowing the Team Ikuzawa logo to occupy a prominent position on the dial.

This layout also recalls several historic TAG Heuer chronographs from the 1960s and 1970s, when valuable dial space was often reserved for racing teams, sponsors or special editions.

Additional details reinforce the collaborative identity of the watch. The black flange carries a contrasting white minute track, while the polished steel crown features a distinctive red lacquered ring.

The watch is fitted as standard with TAG Heuer's seven-row stainless steel bracelet, combining brushed and polished surfaces, and secured by a double-folding clasp with safety push-buttons.

It is also supplied with two additional straps: a perforated white leather strap with red stitching and lining inspired by vintage racing gloves, and a white textile strap with twin red stripes referencing Team Ikuzawa's historic racing livery.

Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the Manufacture TH20-10 calibre powers the chronograph.

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), this automatic movement is equipped with a column wheel and vertical clutch for precise actuation, paired with a bidirectional oscillating weight that echoes the shape of the TAG Heuer shield. The movement offers a power reserve of approximately 80 hours.

The sapphire crystal caseback features dedicated Team Ikuzawa and Bamford Watch Department engravings, while each watch is individually numbered from 001 to 150.

The presentation is equally distinctive. Every watch is delivered in a bespoke presentation box inspired by the toolboxes found in racing workshops and pit garages.

Alongside the watch and the two additional straps, the set also includes a travel pouch and a selection of custom Team Ikuzawa charms designed for keys and personal accessories.

For 2026, Breguet has refreshed its Tradition collection with a series of thoughtful updates that reinforce the identity of one of the Manufacture's most distinctive lines.   

New Grand Feu enamel dials, the return of Arabic numerals on selected references, refined movement finishes and updated strap options bring a fresh character to the collection while preserving its instantly recognisable architecture, where the movement takes centre stage on the dial side. 

Following the official presentation, we had the opportunity to spend some time with several of these new models during a visit to the Breguet boutique in Milan.   

In particular, we photographed the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7037 in both of its versions, together with the Tradition GMT 7067. As part of our In Pictures series, we are pleased to share a selection of live photographs that highlight the details of these remarkable timepieces.

True to the collection's lineage, these new references integrate off-centred indications directly into the mechanical landscape, keeping the mainplate and bridges prominently exposed. 

The Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7037 adopts a deliberately restrained display, combining the hours and minutes with a retrograde seconds indication at 10 o'clock.

Both versions share a 38 mm case measuring 12.7 mm in thickness, with the characteristic fluted caseband, welded lugs and water resistance to 3 bar (30 metres / 100 feet).

The platinum reference (Ref. 7037PT/N9/5V6) stands out with a striking monochromatic appearance, pairing a black Grand Feu enamel dial with a movement finished in matching black tones.

The white gold version (Ref. 7037BB/YB/5V6) offers a completely different personality, contrasting a white Grand Feu enamel dial with a movement finished in deep blue.

In both cases, the movement showcases a finely shot-blasted mainplate, satin-brushed bridges and a hand-guilloché barrel cover.

Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the self-winding Calibre 505 SR beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz) and delivers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.

The platinum oscillating weight is inspired by the "perpétuelle" winding system developed by Abraham-Louis Breguet.

The Tradition GMT 7067 (Ref. 7067PT/NM/5W6) is housed in a 40 mm platinum case with a thickness of 12.1 mm and displays a second time zone through an off-centred subdial at 8 o'clock.

A day/night indicator at 10 o'clock completes the travel-oriented display, while the local hour can be adjusted independently in one-hour increments via the crown.

Among the most eye-catching features of this reference is the new green Grand Feu enamel dial, whose gradient transitions from vivid green at the centre to black around the periphery, creating remarkable depth under changing light.

It is powered by the manually wound Calibre 507 DRF, operating at 3 Hz and offering a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.

Bell & Ross BR-03 GMT Green Lum inspired by the Northern Lights

Bell & Ross expands its Lum collection—named after the French word lumière ("light")—with the BR-03 GMT Green Lum. Limited to 500 pieces, it combines the practicality of a dual-time display with the collection's signature luminous aesthetic.

Designed for pilots, frequent travellers and anyone crossing time zones, the watch reinterprets the BR-03 GMT with a dial inspired by the colours of the Northern Lights.

Its vertical gradient transitions from black at the top to vivid green at the bottom, evoking the glow of an aurora illuminating the night sky.

This distinctive backdrop is complemented by transfer hour numerals and markers coated with pale green Super-LumiNova C3, whose long-lasting luminescence ensures excellent readability in darkness.

The glossy black hour and minute hands, together with the GMT hand tipped by a large triangle, are also filled with Super-LumiNova C3, while the black central seconds hand features Bell & Ross' signature aircraft-shaped counterweight.

The luminous treatment extends beyond the dial to the bidirectional rotating bezel.

Its polished black ceramic insert carries a 24-hour scale engraved and filled with the same green-emitting Super-LumiNova C3, allowing the second time zone to remain fully legible even in complete darkness.

Originally developed in the 1990s, Super-LumiNova is based on strontium aluminate pigments enhanced with rare-earth elements. The C3 formulation used here offers one of the strongest luminous performances available, emitting a green glow for up to approximately ten hours after exposure to light.

The GMT function displays local time on the 12-hour dial, while the dedicated GMT hand points to the 24-hour scale engraved on the bezel to indicate a second time zone.

By rotating the bezel, the watch can also be used to track a third time zone when required. As with all its professional instrument watches, Bell & Ross has prioritised intuitive operation and immediate legibility.

Like the rest of the BR-03 collection, the watch adopts the characteristic "circle within a square" architecture inspired by aircraft cockpit instruments and secured by four functional screws positioned at the corners.

The satin-finished and polished stainless steel case measures 42 mm in diameter and 11.3 mm in thickness, while water resistance is rated to 100 metres (10 bar), making the watch suitable for swimming and everyday aquatic activities.

Powering the watch is the automatic BR-CAL.303 calibre, which operates the hours, minutes, central seconds, date display and GMT indication while offering a power reserve of approximately 54 hours.

The watch is protected by a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and is supplied with both a black rubber strap and an ultra-resistant black synthetic fabric strap, each secured by a satin-finished and polished stainless steel pin buckle.

Swatch Group reports strong sales growth in the first half of 2026

Swatch Group has reported a solid performance for the first half of 2026, with net sales increasing by 8.5% at constant exchange rates despite persistent geopolitical tensions and significant currency headwinds. At current exchange rates, sales rose by 2.0%, as the appreciation of the Swiss franc negatively impacted reported revenue by almost CHF 200 million.

The Group highlighted a marked acceleration in business during May and June, when sales advanced by 13.1% at constant exchange rates, a trend that continued into July. This stronger momentum is expected to improve capacity utilisation across its manufacturing operations and support a significant recovery in profitability during the second half of the year.

For the six months ended June 30, Swatch Group recorded an operating profit of CHF 52 million, corresponding to an operating margin of 1.7%, while net income reached CHF 16 million, representing a net margin of 0.5%. According to the company, profitability continued to be affected by adverse currency movements as well as by the deliberate decision to maintain production capacity and preserve jobs within its manufacturing division, rather than resorting to reduced working hours or temporary layoffs.

The Group generated operating cash flow of CHF 304 million, an increase of 68.9% compared with the same period last year, supported by disciplined working capital management. Net liquidity stood at CHF 1.125 billion, while shareholders' equity reached CHF 11.5 billion, resulting in a particularly strong equity ratio of 85.3%.

Swatch Group also noted that it continued to gain market share globally despite a difficult environment for the Swiss watch industry. While exports of Swiss watches declined by 0.7% during the first six months of the year according to the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry, the Group recorded broad-based growth across virtually all of its businesses.

The Watches & Jewelry division, excluding Production activities, achieved particularly strong results. Sales increased by 9.5% at constant exchange rates, while the operating margin reached 9.0% for the half year. During May and June alone, the operating margin improved further to 15.0%, reflecting the acceleration in demand.

Growth was recorded across every continent. The United States remained one of the strongest-performing markets with sales increasing by 27%, while Europe also delivered encouraging results, led by Spain (+28%) and Italy (+12%). In Asia and Oceania, the Group reported growth in Japan (+20%), South Korea (+12%), and Australia (+5%). Several emerging markets also continued to expand rapidly, including India (+38%), Mexico (+26%), and Saudi Arabia (+41%).

In China, including Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR, the Group's own retail operations continued to improve, posting a 9% increase in sales while maintaining a stable network of boutiques. However, replenishment orders from third-party retailers remained cautious. Business in the Middle East was also affected by the continuing regional instability, impacting the Group's network of more than 200 points of sale.

The Group's retail strategy continued to deliver significant gains. With a comparable number of boutiques, sales through Swatch Group's own retail network increased by 18% at constant exchange rates, resulting in notable improvements in productivity. Company-operated boutiques now account for almost half of total Watches & Jewelry sales, while online sales continued their strong expansion, increasing by 30% at constant exchange rates.

Among the individual brands, Breguet continued to benefit from the momentum generated by the celebrations surrounding its 250th anniversary, with the innovative launches introduced during the commemorative year sustaining strong commercial performance into 2026 despite the challenging luxury market environment.

Harry Winston also reported excellent results across all regions, including particularly strong growth in China, where sales increased by almost 20% at constant exchange rates.

Omega recorded a 20% increase in retail sales at constant exchange rates, supported in part by its global marketing activities surrounding its role as Official Timekeeper of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The Group noted that its own retail network now accounts for 42% of Omega's total turnover.

The strongest volume growth came from Swatch Group's entry-level and mid-range brands. Longines, Tissot, and Hamilton all recorded double-digit increases in turnover, reflecting robust demand across these price segments and further market share gains. According to the company, these categories continue to play a strategic role by strengthening the visibility of Swiss watchmaking among the expanding middle class in many international markets while also creating opportunities for future customer loyalty.

The increase in volumes also began to benefit the Production division, where higher demand from the Group's brands translated into additional manufacturing orders and a gradual improvement in operating profitability.

At the end of June 2026, Swatch Group employed 31,331 people, representing a modest workforce reduction of 1.5% compared with the beginning of the year, primarily through natural employee turnover.

Looking ahead, Swatch Group remains confident about the second half of the year. The strong sales momentum seen in May and June, and confirmed during the first weeks of July, is expected to continue, supporting further growth across all price segments. Review: MeisterSinger Panthero Jumping Hour

Founded in Münster in 2001 by Manfred Brassler, German watchmaker MeisterSinger celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2026.

Renowned for its single-hand watches, the brand pairs minimalist design with clever engineering to encourage a slower, more intentional way of reading time.

One of the models introduced to mark the occasion is the Panthero Jumping Hour, which preserves MeisterSinger's signature single-hand display while adding an instantaneous jumping-hour indication, a complication that is as technically sophisticated as it is visually engaging.

The collection debuted in February with a 25-piece guilloché limited edition (Ref. ED-PTJHG901) and two lacquered serial-production models (Refs. PTJH901 and PTJH902), followed in June by two sunburst dials in blue and golden-yellow (Refs. PTJH917 and PTJH935).

We recently had the opportunity to spend time with the blue-dial version alongside the new Souscription Panthero Jumping Hour Guilloché (Ref. SOUS-PTJHG927B), a special edition limited to just 66 pieces worldwide.

Reviving a centuries-old watchmaking tradition, the Souscription model is produced only after it has been ordered by its owner. Rather than manufacturing watches for stock, MeisterSinger builds each example individually, keeping its future owner informed throughout the different stages of production.

It is an approach that recalls the subscription model used by many of the great watchmakers of the 18th century while adding an appealing personal dimension to the ownership experience.

The Panthero Jumping Hour combines MeisterSinger's characteristic minute display with a mechanically driven jumping-hour complication.

The newly developed architecture extends beyond the dial, incorporating a dedicated jumping-hour module as well as an entirely redesigned stainless steel case measuring 40.5 mm in diameter and 12.3 mm thick.

The proportions feel particularly well judged, offering a balanced presence on the wrist without appearing oversized.

Alternating brushed and polished finishes emphasise the flowing lines of the case, while the subtly hollowed flanks add visual lightness and a welcome sense of dynamism.

The spiral-shaped crown, which allows precise winding and time setting, is engraved with MeisterSinger's familiar fermata symbol, the musical notation for a pause that has become the brand's unmistakable emblem.

Protected by a subtly domed sapphire crystal, the dial occupies almost the entire visible surface, framed only by a slim polished bezel that further enhances the elegant proportions of the watch.

The hours are displayed through a circular aperture positioned at 12 o'clock and advance instantaneously at the beginning of every hour.

Minutes are indicated by MeisterSinger's signature single hand, mounted off-centre and sweeping across a raised minute ring positioned concentrically around its own axis rather than the centre of the dial.

This unusual display requires a completely reconfigured transmission system that synchronises the minute indication with the jumping-hour disc.

Unlike many conventional jumping-hour mechanisms, where the energy required for the jump is released almost instantaneously, MeisterSinger's construction gradually stores the necessary force throughout the sixty-minute cycle.

A snail cam mounted on the minute wheel progressively tensions the actuating lever until the top of the hour, when the hour disc advances instantly. By distributing the energy demand evenly over the course of the hour, the system avoids sudden power losses that could otherwise affect rate stability.

Visible beneath the minute indication is a continuously rotating sun wheel.

Inspired by MeisterSinger's fermata emblem, it serves no timekeeping function but provides a subtle visual indication of the movement in operation, adding animation to the dial without compromising its remarkable legibility.

The blue-dial Panthero Jumping Hour Ref. PTJH917 pairs its rich sunburst finish with a silver-coloured minute track, minute hand and rotating sun wheel, resulting in an elegant and harmonious appearance.

One particularly appealing detail is that the sunburst brushing radiates not from the centre of the dial, but from the off-centre axis of the minute hand itself, reinforcing the originality of the display architecture.

As light moves across the surface, reflections spread naturally from this unusual focal point towards the edge of the dial, giving the watch a constantly changing character.

The Souscription Panthero Jumping Hour Guilloché offers a different visual experience. Its shimmering light-grey dial is produced entirely by hand on a historic rose engine, with every line individually cut by the craftsman.

The intricate guilloché pattern also radiates from the off-centre minute axis, creating a constantly changing play of light that gives the dial exceptional depth and a remarkable three-dimensional appearance.

Because of the artisanal manufacturing process, no two dials are exactly alike. Blue accents applied to the minute track, rehaut, single hand and rotating sun wheel reinforce the exclusive character of this edition.

Powering both versions is the automatic calibre MS-JH-01, developed around the proven Sellita SW300 and enhanced with MeisterSinger's proprietary jumping-hour module.

Operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), the movement delivers a power reserve of approximately 47 hours while driving both the instantaneous jumping-hour display and the continuously rotating sun wheel. It can be admired through a sapphire crystal caseback secured by four screws.

The rotor immediately catches the eye with a design inspired by three interlocking fermatas.

On regular production models, the central ring surrounding the rotor bearing and the MeisterSinger logo are finished in anthracite.

For the Souscription edition, these elements adopt a warm golden tone that reflects its artisanal character, completed by an exclusive 'One of 66' caseback engraving that marks its limited production.

Water-resistant to 5 bar (50 metres / 165 feet), the Panthero Jumping Hour Sunburst can be paired with a variety of straps, including leather, fabric and a Milanese stainless steel bracelet.

The Souscription edition is fitted with a blue leather strap that perfectly complements the blue elements of the dial. Both models are secured by a stainless steel double-folding clasp and feature a lug width of 20 mm.

On the wrist, the Panthero Jumping Hour proves remarkably comfortable. The combination of its well-balanced 40.5 mm case, moderate thickness and naturally curved profile allows it to sit securely while maintaining an elegant presence.

For reference, the wrist shown in our photographs measures 17.8 cm (7 inches).

The MeisterSinger Panthero Jumping Hour with sunburst dials is priced at €6,990, while the Souscription Panthero Jumping Hour Guilloché is available at €7,990.

The Panthero Jumping Hour represents a significant step forward for MeisterSinger.

Certina continues the evolution of its professional diving watches with the introduction of the new DS Super PH2000M, the deepest-rated model ever produced by the Swiss brand.

Water-resistant to 200 bar (2,000 metres / 6,560 feet), it doubles the depth rating achieved by previous PH models (the initials PH referring to hydrostatic pressure) while introducing the latest evolution of the Double Security concept through the new DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance.

Much like the turtle shell that has long served as Certina's emblem—and which decorates the solid caseback—the DS Super PH2000M is built to withstand extreme pressure and severe impacts.

Crafted from lightweight Grade 2 titanium and powered by the Powermatic 80 automatic movement, the collection debuts with four references, each supplied with a second strap to increase versatility.

Leading the range is the Sea Turtle Conservancy Limited Edition, Ref. C050.607.44.041.10, produced in 1,959 pieces in tribute to both the launch year of the DS Concept and the founding of the marine conservation organisation.

Continuing a partnership that has now lasted nine years, this edition features a turquoise fumé dial fading to black, paired with a black ceramic bezel accented in matching turquoise.

It is delivered with a Grade 2 titanium bracelet and an additional turquoise silicone strap with white stitching.

The remaining three references complete the collection with distinct colour combinations. Ref. C050.607.44.051.02 features a black dial with beige Super-LumiNova, a titanium bracelet and an additional black rubber strap with beige stitching.

Ref. C050.607.44.011.02 pairs a white dial with a titanium bracelet and an extra blue fabric strap with a white centre stripe, while Ref. C050.607.44.361.02 combines a yellow dial with a titanium bracelet and an additional black rubber strap with white stitching.

Crafted from lightweight Grade 2 titanium, the tonneau-shaped case measures 43 mm in diameter and 16 mm in thickness. Designed to withstand extreme underwater conditions, it features a screw-down crown and screw-down caseback together with a helium escape valve positioned at 9 o'clock.

During saturation diving, helium atoms can penetrate the watch case under prolonged exposure to pressure; the automatic valve safely releases the accumulated gas during decompression, protecting the integrity of the movement.

The robust construction is complemented by a unidirectional rotating bezel fitted with a scratch-resistant ceramic insert and incorporating a secure push-to-turn locking system designed to prevent accidental rotation.

A Super-LumiNova-filled triangle at 12 o'clock ensures immediate orientation in low-light conditions.

Designed for maximum legibility, the dial features large applied hour markers and hands generously coated with Super-LumiNova, while a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment enhances clarity both above and below the surface.

A date display positioned at 3 o'clock completes the indications, while the brightly coloured minute hand provides an immediate visual reference during dives.

Powering the watch is the Swiss-made Powermatic 80.611 automatic movement. Fitted with an anti-magnetic Nivachron balance spring, it delivers a robust 80-hour power reserve while driving the central hours, minutes, seconds, and date.
