Dear Partners and Friends,

We have returned from Africa. Sue has washed our clothes and repacked our bags. As you read this, we are flying out to Europe and another preaching mission in the churches of England, Scotland, and Belgium. Before Christmas comes, we will also have been able to minister the grace of Jesus Christ in Indiana, Ohio, California, and Wisconsin.

Before we ask for prayer and continued support, may we tell you a little about Africa and give God all the glory for the wonderful ministry we experienced? Teaching the Bible, preaching the Gospel of salvation, and training leaders has grown dramatically this year. We taught 5 college courses at Kum Bible College (for students aiming for graduation in 2008 & 2009). God blessed us with a powerful revival ministry in Six Trees/Lusikisiki District, Konjwaio, Kokstad, and Capetown. God opened the door into a large Christian community of Congolese refugees AND strengthened our work in the Eastern Cape and Kwa-Zulu Natal. Preaching in rondavels and villages, we saw about 70 young people give their lives to Christ as Saviour. We rejoiced to see nearly 200 believers re-dedicate their lives to Jesus. We were in awe as African pastors and elders re-committed their churches and ministries to reach the unsaved with the Gospel. And we were humbled to help plant a new congregation in a poor, out-of-the-way location called Kabajana. Sue was given a good opportunity to work with teachers in both preschools and in a government primary school called Sizani (where the students repair the mud walls of their own classrooms to keep the weather and the animals out!!!) We come home believing that the Holy Spirit has "opened the door" for more vigorous, hard work next year in all these places.

Joe and Dawn Correll and Dr. Philip Allen spent two weeks with us and were a great help in construction, medical outreach, and teaching. In their own individual ways, they learned the realities of cross-cultural mission work, created their own network of friends, and saw the work of the Holy Spirit. They surrendered themselves to personally be God's servants to their African brothers and sisters. That's what genuine mission work is all about! Bless you Joe, Dawn, and Phil; for all that you did with us.

We head across to Europe and then return to ministry in the USA between now and December. We could ask for the usual things like traveling mercies, increased financial support, stamina, good communication, and spiritual wisdom. . .and we do. We beg you to pray for the churches and pastors who have asked us to come serve them in preaching and teaching the Word of God. . .in Storth, Rugby, and Frodsham, Encland; in Aberdeen and Invurary, Soctland; in Auvelais and Dour, Belgium; in Elkhart, Indiana; in Logan, Ohio; in Wasco, California and in Shopiere, Wisconsin. Your steady prayer will undergird our mission and God will bless the places and people where we see Him at work. We believe that!

But, we have an even greater prayer request. Will you please pray that throughout these next few months, we will be changed by the grace of God to, simply, be more like Jesus? That's it. . .we want a continual transformation in our hearts to be like Him. We depend on Christ and we trust you to pray. Thank you! We love you! Talk to you in 3 months.

Prayer Requests for Februrary 2007, part II

On Saturday 3 February, 2007 representatives, missionaries, and workers from Timothy Ministries convened at Clare Cottage for a day of devotional Christian worship, prayer, and planning for the next 15 months. The people who compose the Timothy Ministries mission team are always seeking God's way forward and wanting to be in position to serve where there are real spiritual needs on the fields where they are invited to work.

The mission emphasis (for manpower, time, and resources) is shifting slightly to include Bible teaching and ministry training (which has always been at the centre of Timothy Ministries' ethos), plus revival preaching for the strengthening of the local church, spiritually and in terms of effective outreach for Christ.

To that end, Dr. Larry and Susan Correll will be spending more time as itinerant teaching and preaching missionaries, both overseas and here in North America. During the next 15 months, they will be working with...

a number of local churches in America... in Bible Teaching Conferences and Revival Preaching Ministries.
Kum Bible College personnel and sites in Lujizweni, Six Trees, Capetown, and Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. (in conjunction with short-term workers, Joe and Dawn Correll, Dr. Philip Allen, and Rudy and Marty Zuniga)

Please pray that Timothy Ministries workers will be good and faithful servants of Christ wherever they go, demonstrating a clear testimony of salvation, a keen faith in Jesus, and a humble heart.

Helen Clarke has suffered a heart attack.

She is resting comfortably in the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Ward 19. She will undergo a number of tests to determine damage, severity, what will be the next step in rehab, etc.

Please surround Helen and Philip in supportive prayer. We have a powerful,
healing God who will use this critical time to His glory!

Would you please pray, daily, for effective teaching and powerful preaching for Larry and Susan, for wisdom in dealing with cross-cultural outreach and college planning for the future, and for safety in travel and no-hassle connections with people and transportation in a variety of locations, villages, and towns in the African bush? Larry and Susan will be abroad until August, 2006.
Timothy Ministries is forming a NACO Mission Team for July in Mexico. Please pray that God will "seal the deal" for several guys. We've gotten 7 definite commitments and need between 5 to 7 more to complete an adequate building team. We have that number of guys pending...to see if they can get off their jobs, raise funds, get passports, etc...but we hope to have the complete team in hand to start training before St Patrick's day. Thanks for praying that God will move dramatically in these guys lives and help them make the right decisions, very soon.
An urgent prayer request for these next few months is that God open the doors for the beginning of new mission outreach as we look ahead to 2006-10. Like many mission groups, we suffered a reduction in contributions in 2005, due to the natural disasters that required charitable giving to meet immediate and critical needs. We, too, made donations for Tsunami, Fire, and Hurricane Relief. If we are to really entertain invitations to minister in the years ahead (especially on new fields), Timothy Ministries must be adequately funded. We are praying for new donors and new partners in mission, right here at home. Will you pray about your role in supporting the quiet work of Timothy Ministries, with prayer and funding for the future? Thank you.
Japheth Makunga, Kum Bible College treasurer and pastor, has been diagnosed with a lung tumour and has been hospitalised some 80 miles from his home, 30 miles from Kum Bible College. Please pray for our friend and co-worker, for his wife Cecelia, and for his family.
Three key Christian leaders in the Six Trees area, Nozuko Binjana, Beauty Binjana, and Mama Casino were in a horrific auto accident while on their way to a Christian rally. While all three are home in their village, the Mamas Binjana are both unable to walk and are bed-ridden, being cared for by the congregation. Please pray for their recovery and healing, and that this tragedy will strength their testimony for Jesus in their homeland.
One of our bright, articulate young students, 25 year old Sonwabile Mtoli, has died. We have no information other than that. His parents, Maxwell and Aurelia Mtoli pastor the Christian congregation at Mampondo-meseni, 75 miles from KBC. Sonwabile had spent much of last summer with the Corrells at KBC and was training for evangelism and leadership. Please uphold his family and fellow students in prayer.
Please pray about a potential visit to Dour, Belgium in May 2006 (we are getting either no or mixed signals from the people there about the efficacy of a trip there).
Please pray for Buck & Mary VanZandt as they move forward in partnering Timothy Ministries with Indian Trails Mission in the restoration work in Native American churches along the Mexican border near Naco and Bisbee, AZ. We're inching our way there, being very sensitive to the cross-cultural dynamics involved.
Please pray for Timothy Ministries' KBC Treasurer, 59 year old pastor, Japheth Makunga, who has been hospitalised with a lung tumor and is awaiting a risky surgery. Please pray for God's will and glory to be seen in Japheth's life; and for his new wife, Cecelia and their family. Japheth is a Godly man. He is currently either in a hospital in Umtata or out in the bush at St. Barnabas.

At the same time that the Corrells were on the road preaching and giving mission reports, a Timothy Team was hard at work in New Orleans, helping in the clean-up and reconstruction after Hurricane Katrina. Led by Rudy and Marty Zuniga, a team of nine short-term Timothy workers from Wisconsin and Illinois assisted PRC/Compassion by doing hands-on mission work under the auspices of Hosanna Fellowship Church, near the Ninth Ward. Clean-up, building projects, food distribution, and Bible hand-outs were the orders for the days

There is fact-finding to do in Arizona and Mexico, Tennessee, another area of Belgium, Uganda, and the possibility of an extension of Kum Bible College into another South African municipality.
Would you please pray for John and Sue Longridge, of Exeter, England. John, a longtime friend and mission colleague, is battling cancer. He has served faithfully in the TEE work alongside Michael & Pauline Huggins, Rob and Jacqui Brown, and Anneta and her Russian mission team. Timothy Ministries has been a steady contributor to the efforts to bring Bible Education and Christian Leadership Trainingacross Russia and the CIS Republics.
Would you please pray for a young woman in nurses' traing, Ida Mae Rogers, who is asking the Lord about a life and career on the field in Africa. Pray that she and Timothy Ministries will hear God's wise leading as she explores His future for her.
