He also asked them to faithfully follow him so that they can qualify to enter God’s kingdom. Jesus said,

“Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, let him follow me; and where I am, there my servant will be also. If anyone serves me, him My Father will honor” (John 12:24-26).



Lesson:

It takes a serious determination for anyone to be a true child of God. Christianity is not a wishy-washy religion, and it is not meant for indecisive individuals that are not ready to fully follow Jesus Christ. Since Jesus himself proved thorough Christianity through his actual death on the cross (and resurrected), he would not entertain an un-serious Christian in heaven! Anyone who claims to be born again must be serious with his or her confession. The fellow must say “goodbye” to the old lifestyle and be ready to live a new life in Jesus Christ.

Christianity demands seriousness, and a true child of God must be willing to pay the price involved. Therefore, it is worth emphasizing that every Christian must take his or her Christian race seriously since heaven is not meant for mediocre, but it is designed for people who will not compromise their faith and confession of Jesus Christ as Lord. Big rewards are waiting for the serious Christians in heaven, but heavy punishments are waiting in hell for people who have compromised their faith.

 

Prayer:

Dear God, please do not let me be an un-serious Christian, but let me be a serious Christian who will be blessed in heaven! Let me take my Christian race seriously and let me run the race with seriousness. Please help me to overcome my limitations and temptations so that I will not disappoint you on the last day of judgment. Again, empower me to refute sin with the power of your Holy Spirit to declare me stand with you as your true child. Please do this and many more! For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.

They will also be confident in their future, and they will have enough courage to do God’s will. The psalmist explained this better when he stated,

“Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret—it only causes harm. For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth” (Psalm 37:3-9).

 

Lesson:

All believers should trust God, and no one should envy the ungodly people. A person who reserves his or her trust in God should be assured of a better future. Meanwhile, people who lack trust in God may remain the devil’s prey. The enemy may turn their life into an operation field where he carries out his dirty plots. Therefore, everyone is encouraged to be God’s friend and trust him so that they can avoid the devil’s preying – and so that they can prosper as well.

 

Prayer:

Dear God, I understand that anyone who trusts you will be strong and have prosperity; therefore, I choose to trust you. I believe you and I believe your Son, Jesus Christ. I am utilizing this opportunity to ask for the grace to trust you more. I want to faithfully serve you, and I want to make you happy with my deeds. Please help me and give me your grace. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.

We Christians are fortunate because Christ will accompany us through all life journeys, and he will share our pains. The Savior will also work around terrible situations and turn them into our blessings. The Son of God will not rest until he has given us victory over all circumstances of life. Let a believer shout “Hallelujah!”

 

Prayer:

Dear Jesus Christ, what a wonderful savior you are? You never sleep or slumber, but you are keeping constant watch over me. I love you so much! Since you are my confidant and security, I will follow you throughout the days of my life. I yield my complete life to you from now and forevermore! I will also tell the whole world that you are the Savior of the world, and all people should follow you! Amen.

He has God to defend him, therefore he cried to God and said,

“…But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.” My times are in your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, And from those who persecute me. Make your face shine upon your servant; save me for your mercies’ sake. Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon you; Let the wicked be ashamed; Let them be silent in the grave” (Psalm 31:14-17).

 

Lesson:

We Christians reserve the right to ask God for blessings and protection. Since we are God’s children, we are allowed to ask him whatever we want. Meanwhile, our requests should not only base on provisions, we should also ask God for protection. Moreover, believers must exercise faith once they have prayed. God who dearly loves his children will not hesitate to bless and subdue our enemies under his feet.

 

Prayer:

Dear God, I realized that I am the most fortunate person on earth because I have you as God; therefore, I confirm my trust in you. I command all challenging situations that surround my life to bow in the name of Jesus Christ! Again, I emphasize that all uncomely situations that harass me to falter in the name of Jesus Christ. Since I am a child of God, I have a powerful authority to command situations to listen to me; therefore, I rebuke Satan and I command his entire afflicting instrument to become wasted in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Jesus who had been earlier informed of Lazarus’ sickness tarried his rescue effort until Satan did his worst. The Savior was prepared to embarrass Satan and glorify himself. In fact, Jesus had announced his intention to Lazarus sister (Mary) when he stated,

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26).

Once Lazarus died, Jesus came to town to raise him up. Hallelujah!

 

Lesson:

Satan is in trouble because Jesus Christ has power over death. The worse that the enemy could do is to kill someone, but Jesus has the power to give life. Therefore, Satan’s power remains subject to Jesus’ power! On the last day, Jesus will resurrect believers who have died, and send them to heaven. Unfortunately for Satan and his followers, their permanent home is hellfire. They would wallow in the fire that never dies; they would be tortured every day and every night – forever! However, people who believe in Jesus Christ will enjoy God’s peace and prosperity in heaven – forever!

 

Prayer:

Praise Jesus I am born again, and I am going to heaven. I will not go to hellfire because I am a follower of Jesus Christ. Heaven is my home, and I will enjoy it forever! Since Jesus has defeated Satan through his death and resurrection some two thousand years ago, I declare my victory in him. Devil has no power over me anymore; I am free from any curse of sin and death – forever! Yes, I am free! Yes, Jesus Christ has made me free indeed! Amen.

When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident” (Psalm 27:1-3).

 

Lesson:

God’s power is superb, and it remains unbeatable by any force! God will defend his interest in any person, place, or position. He will defend himself in every situation and glorify his name. Also, the Creator will not share his unbeatable power with anyone else. He will keep Satan under his feet, and he will glorify himself in the lives of his children. Therefore, everyone should strive to become God’s child since he or she will have the ultimate protection and provisions to enjoy.

 

Prayer:

Dear God, I am hiding under your pavilion of protection. Please make me your favorite child, and protect me against any onslaught of the enemies. Build your walls of defense around me, and protect me always. Shield me from any arrow of the enemies that fly by night and by day, and let me continue to soar in strength and prosperity. Please, fill my mouth with the testimony of your goodness always. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.

Lesson:

The most rewarding life insurance is to have life assurance in God. Jesus Christ assured his followers to give them eternal life. Since Christ remarkably demonstrated the power to surrender his life to death and regain it, he would do likewise for his followers. Jesus’ followers would only die once, then they would resurrect to have eternal life in heaven. However, unbelievers would experience two deaths: Earthly and eternal death in hellfire! Since Jesus Christ offers the assurance of permanent life insurance that leads to heaven, all people should ensure their lives with him.

 

Prayer:

Dear Jesus Christ, Hell Fire is too hot and I do not want to go there – neither do I want it to become my permanent home! I want to go to heaven that has peaceful bliss – where people never suffer pain or abuse. Hell has horror but heaven has peace! Therefore, I am determined to invest my future and destiny in you so that I can go to heaven. Today, I am determined to sign up for your life insurance program that will never fail: I confess you, Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, and I give you my complete life forever. Henceforth, I will serve you with all my heart, and I will share my salvation experience with other people. So help me God. Amen!

Meanwhile, few people who are consistent with God continue to enjoy numerous benefits from him. However, it is advisable that all people move closer to God and establish a consistent relationship with him so that they can prosper and also put Satan to shame.

 

Prayer:

Dear God, I realized that people who move closer to you are enjoying a lot of benefits from you, and I want to join them now! I am determined to move closer to you than ever before. I will stop wasting my time and energy on things that do not benefit me, but I will immediately put extra effort into the relationship that exists between you and me. I will praise you more than ever before, and I will serve you well. Please give me the grace to keep to my commitments. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.

Lesson:

Numerous religions are out there, and some people (dead or alive) have claimed to be God’s servants sent to save the world. However, no one ever proved his statement as the Savior – except Jesus Christ. Jesus claimed to be the only way that leads to God and he proved his statement. He died and resurrected on the third day, and he also promised to resurrect all people that believe in him on the last day. Hence, we are more convinced to follow someone who has tasted death and resurrected at the same time. If we follow Jesus Christ, we will also taste resurrection after death. Therefore, anyone who confesses Jesus as Lord and accepts him as his or her personal Savior shall be saved.

 

Prayer:

I yield my complete life to Jesus Christ today, and I accept him as my personal Lord and Savior! Since Jesus is the only way that leads to heaven, I will remain steadfast with him. No more sin and no more relationship with the devil. Henceforth, my life belongs to God and I will serve him forever! Amen.
