In the last 12 months, the Switch 2 has outsold the PS5 by 2.84 million units. The Switch 2 is ahead of the PS5 by 5.46 million units.

The 14th month for the Switch 2 is July 2026, while for the PS5 it is December 2021. The Switch 2 has sold 22.55 million units, while the PS5 sold 17.09 million units during the same timeframe.

The PlayStation 5 has sold 94.09 million units to date. The Switch 2 is currently 71.54 million units behind the lifetime sales of the PS5.

Six Years of Craftopia

Craftopia began as a project made by a small group of friends who wanted to create their dream game.

At the time, Pocketpair itself was still a very small company. A lot has changed since then. The studio has grown considerably, we have released new games, and our day-to-day development environment looks very different from when Craftopia first entered development.

One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is how much Craftopia means to the team.

We love Craftopia. Although Pocketpair has since grown into a company working on multiple projects, we must never forget where we started: as a small group of friends who simply wanted to make fun games.

Craftopia was born from that spirit, and we’d like to believe that the culture formed during its development helped shape Pocketpair into the company it is today.

We also understand that our communication surrounding the game has not always been good enough. In particular, since the release of Palworld, some Craftopia players have understandably felt that the game was receiving less attention.

We sincerely apologise for giving that impression.

Behind the scenes, the Craftopia team has continued working tirelessly on the game. In fact, the growth and success Pocketpair has experienced in recent years has allowed us to dedicate more resources toward Craftopia and tackle a number of longstanding technical issues that had previously been extremely difficult to resolve.

We are enormously grateful to everyone who continued supporting the game throughout that process.

What to Expect From Craftopia 1.0

Craftopia has changed dramatically over the course of Early Access.

The game has added a huge amount of content over the years, and as we approach version 1.0, our priority is not simply adding as much new content as possible.

Instead, much of our focus is on cleaning up and refining the existing experience, addressing outstanding issues, and making Craftopia as enjoyable and polished as possible for its full release.

That means the 1.0 update may not be as focused on sheer content volume as some players might expect. However, there will still be new content arriving alongside Version 1.0, and we’ll have more details to share about that in the future.

Craftopia 1.0 and Xbox

We also have an important update for our Xbox players.

Craftopia Version 1.0 will release on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC alongside the Steam version in 2027.

We know that the Xbox community has faced a particularly difficult experience with Craftopia, and we deeply regret the problems players have encountered.

Many of those issues came down to our own lack of experience at the time. Over the past several years, we have invested significant development time and resources into resolving the technical problems surrounding the Xbox version.

We’re very happy to say that we have now made the breakthroughs necessary to bring Craftopia 1.0 to Xbox Series X|S.

Unfortunately, we have not been able to achieve an acceptable level of performance and stability on Xbox One. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue development of Craftopia for Xbox One, and version 1.0 will not be released on that platform.

This was not a decision we made lightly. We know that this will be disappointing for Xbox One players who have supported Craftopia, and we sincerely regret that we were unable to deliver the experience we wanted to on the hardware.

Thank You for Six Years

Craftopia 1.0 has been many years in the making.

These past six years have changed Pocketpair enormously, and none of that would have been possible without the people who played Craftopia, sent us feedback, reported bugs, created videos and guides, shared the game with friends, and continued supporting us throughout its development.

Craftopia will always be an important part of Pocketpair and a game that is very dear to us.

There is still work to do before Version 1.0 arrives, and we’ll be sharing much more about the update as we get closer to release.

For now, thank you for six incredible years of Craftopia.

We hope you’ll join us for the conclusion of its Early Access journey when Craftopia version 1.0 launches in 2027.

Nielsen HQ data reported by The Game Business revealed sales for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S increased last week by 33 percent and 34 percent, respectively, compared to the prior week.

Nintendo Switch 2 sales saw rose by about a third due to the price increase that occurred this week on September 1.

Hardware sales in the UK through July are down 14.4 percent year-on-year. This is mainly due to the PlayStation 5, which is down 32 percent. Xbox Series X|S are actually up 3.1 percent.

Grand Theft Auto VI will launch for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19.

Here is the max number of hours included in each tier of Game Pass:

• Game Pass Ultimate: 15 hours
• Game Pass Premium: 10 hours
• Game Pass Essential: 5 hours

These limited are expected to impact around four percent of Game Pass subscribers. Once subscribers use their included hours they will be able to purchase additional playtime via the Xbox Store. 

Players who are not Game Pass subscribers starting in November will also be able to purchase Xbox Cloud Gaming hours without the need to subscribe to Game Pass. Details on pricing will be shared before the changes take effect.

Xbox says these changes are being made because "the cost of providing cloud gaming grows as more people use it and play for longer. Moving to monthly limits allows us to keep offering the service while continuing to invest in its reliability and performance. We understand that for some players the practical result is a higher cost.

"In November, we’ll provide more information about pricing, purchasing additional hours, eligible games, market availability, and how players can check their remaining time.

"We’ll listen closely to player feedback before and after the change takes effect and share any adjustments we make."

Today at State of Play, we shared the first look at an all-new collaboration with the LEGO Group – the LEGO PlayStation – that celebrates the games, experiences, and the feelings of play we have shared as a community for over 30 years.

For the first time, players and LEGO fans will be able to create a LEGO replica of the original PlayStation console and PlayStation controller. Brick by brick, this 1,911-piece set represents a near 1:1 scale of the console, measuring 10.5 inches / 26 cm wide when fully assembled. 

To bring this set to life, we collaborated closely with LEGO designers to craft a building experience that is inspired by PlayStation’s origins. When building the set, players will notice hidden details from PlayStation’s history and references to two iconic games that launched on the original PlayStation console, Ape Escape and Gran Turismo. Each diorama features customizable elements – Gran Turismo includes a miniature track complete with scaled down cars, while the Ape Escape diorama has a nostalgic island scene with a swappable blue or red light on the monkey’s helmet. The interactive set has functional mechanisms for the console’s Power and Open buttons, a controller that can plug into the console, and the ability to remove both game dioramas so they can be displayed separately.

The LEGO PlayStation will be available directly from PlayStation on direct.playstation.com starting October 1, 2026, in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Across these two updates, players can look forward to new circuits and cars, additional ways to compete, and features designed to make the world of Gran Turismo more welcoming and enjoyable for everyone. 

A new circuit and the return of a legacy circuit 

The first new circuit is Sportsland SUGO in Japan, available in October. The circuit is known for its elevation changes, flowing layout, and the familiar Dunlop bridge. 

The second is Autumn Ring, a circuit deeply connected to the history of Gran Turismo, first appearing in the original title. I am very pleased to bring this circuit into Gran Turismo 7 as part of the December release and allow millions of players to experience it for the first time.

12 new cars

A total of 12 cars will be added across both Spec IV updates. The exact cars will be revealed at a later time. 

New ways to drive and compete 

Spec IV will also introduce a selection of new game features and even offer more ways for players to find their own challenge. 

Online Drift Trials will bring drivers together to test their control, precision, and style. Shuffle Races will offer randomised conditions for online races, encouraging players to adapt to new strategies to win.

Additional features will include new Driving Experiences, an expanded Car Viewer, new progression elements, and a Concierge feature for car buying. More details on these features will come soon. 

ogether, these additions are designed to offer new goals for experienced drivers while creating more opportunities for every player to explore Gran Turismo 7 on their own terms. 

Family Mode  

Family Mode will be included in the December update. Family Mode is a new way to make Gran Turismo 7 more accessible and enjoyable when playing with family and friends. 

To make it easier to share the fun of cars and driving, Family Mode is designed as a welcoming starting point for players with different levels of driving experience. The mode will also offer something fresh and fun for those who already spend time in Gran Turismo 7.

Just revealed in State of Play, Jin Sakai will be one of our playable characters in Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted! We are so excited to have the hero of Ghost of Tsushima back for this new mode, complete with all four of his signature stances.

In case you missed our announcement last month, Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted is a brand new single-player combat survival mode that’s included in Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. 

Most Wanted is our spin on a roguelike. You’ll choose from four playable characters and accept bounties with escalating difficulty. As you complete runs, you’ll earn perks and upgrades to build out your character, becoming more powerful as you go.

It was important to us to make Most Wanted feel like an extension of Ghost of Yōtei’s core combat systems. We want playing through runs to take the familiar weapons and systems you’re used to and turn them into a fresh experience that lets you experiment with characters and builds to find the loadout that works best for you. 

So how does it work? To start a run, you’ll select a bounty from the bounty board. Each one features a different member of the Yōtei Six, but to get to them you’ll have to take on waves of enemies and minibosses. As you finish each wave, you’ll unlock perks that help you create a powerful build to eventually take on the final boss of the bounty you’ve selected. Bounties can be replayed at increasing difficulty levels, all culminating in the hardest bounty against Lord Saito himself. 

You’ll also earn Mon as you play, which you can spend outside of runs to unlock new techniques, weapon upgrades, charms, and character unlocks. Plus, any cosmetics you earn through playing Most Wanted will also be unlocked in the main game, so you can wear them during Atsu’s original quest for vengeance, or as you take on the new story expansion in Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara. 

Once you’ve unlocked all four characters, you can select between them. Each character will start with a katana, as well as their own additional unique weapons, abilities, Ultimates, and Kill Streaks. We encourage you to try them all as each one brings their own different approach to taking down the enemies standing in your way.

Your default starting character will be Atsu, who uses dual katana as well as two Ghost Tools: Metsubushi (Blinding Powder) and a Blind Bomb. Atsu’s Ultimate is “Call of the Pack,” which allows her to summon two wolves to take down nearby enemies, and her Kill Streak is Onryō’s Howl, which will terrify all nearby enemies and force one to flee. 

You’ll also be able to play as Oyuki, who fights with the kusarigama, kunai, and the tanegashima (rifle). Oyuki’s Ultimate is “Shadow Killer,” which unleashes smoke to allow her to quickly assassinate two nearby enemies. Her Kill Streak is Shadow Shinobi, which summons a Nine Tails ally to fight alongside her (and execute their own assassinations) for a limited time. 

The next playable character is Nagato, who uses the yari (spear), tanzutsu (pistol), yumi (long bow), and hankyu (short bow). His Ultimate is “Gambler’s Mark,” which targets two enemies and fires a guaranteed headshot, and his Kill Streak is Blast Arrow, which refills his Concentration and grants an explosive arrow.

Finally, Jin Sakai is our fourth playable character. For Jin, our animation and character art teams worked hard to take his Ghost of Tsushima model and keep it faithful while also applying upgrades for Ghost of Yōtei. Jin can use his katana with all four of the original stances from Ghost of Tsushima, helping to exploit enemy weaknesses. He also starts with a Sticky Bomb and hankyu. Jin’s Ultimate is the “Dance of Wrath” skill from Ghost of Tsushima, which targets multiple enemies and disarms them, and his Kill Streak is, of course, Ghost Stance, which allows him to terrify the enemies around him and kill a limited amount of them in a single hit. 

Beyond selecting the character you want to play as, the real way to create your unique build in Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted is by selecting perks. As you progress through a run, you’ll frequently select between new perks including weapon mastery, gear loadouts, summons, parries, survivability, and more. These are the cornerstone of crafting the perfect build and lead to some of the most exciting surprises as you find the challenge or unexpected value that comes from mixing and matching perks.

If you already own Ghost of Yōtei, you can pre-order the Complete Edition Upgrade for $14.99, which will grant you access to Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted and Ghost of Yōtei: Echoes of Sekigahara on October 1, and instant access to all of the in-game content previously included in the Ghost of Yōtei Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as the Charm of Hokkyokusei. If you pre-order by September 30, you’ll also receive an early unlock of the Sakai Armor for Atsu to wear on October 1 without having to unlock it by playing Most Wanted first.¹

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 (PS5) debuted in 3rd place with sales of 12,691 units. The Switch 2 version debuted in sixth place with sales of 8,624 units and the Switch version debuted in eighth place with sales of 5,590.

Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster (NS2) debuted in seventh place with sales of 6,386 units.

CD Projekt has told GameSpot the remake has not been cancelled, but has been temporarily put on hold.

The Witcher Remake also shares some of its architecture with The Witcher 4, which Fools' Theory is also assisting with.

"Fool’s Theory team is focused mainly on the development of Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, while a relatively small part of their team is supporting the development of The Witcher 4," said CD Projekt.

"As we have previously announced, the development on The Witcher Remake has been temporarily integrated with The Witcher 4 due to production process dependencies. As The Witcher Remake will be built on the foundation laid by The Witcher 4, we need to have the necessary assets, tools, and pipelines ready for efficient development."

The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Remastered will launch for the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Battle.net on September 29.
