In the first episode of the first season of Voices of Public Health, I sit down and talk with Dr. Kausik Datta, a researcher at the Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Datta and I discuss his journey to America from India, his work, and his debunking of pseudo-scientific nonsense online and in real life. The interview lasts about 20 minutes. Enjoy.

Before the season starts, I thought I'd give you a quick glimpse into a presentation I did in Mexico City a couple of weeks ago. The presentation was a part of a panel discussion on Public Health and The Law. We talked about international regulations for events such as the Ebola outbreak, the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic, and current controversies on vaccination. My paper/talk was about The Perfect Epidemiological Surveillance System, or what we could do in Public Health to keep track of the health status of entire populations if money, technology, laws and ethics were not a concern. It's a kind of "pie in the sky" scenario with a discussion of what we could and could not do. It's about 15 minutes, and I hope you like it.
