World of Sexton Episode 5

The recorder ate the recording again. I’ll have to do some testing to find out why that is.

As a summary, only Geft and Tenebrae showed up. They collected the reward for killing the Necromancer from the temple (6 vials of holy water) and were met by the area Chieftain (Bjorn Njalson). Apparently someone had been harrassing a local trapper, destroying his traps and burning down an outbuilding.

They show up at the trapper’s house and talk with the trapper. They decide to have the trapper lie low in town while they investigate. As the trapper goes inside, an Ogre bursts from the bushes and attacks the players. They deal with the Ogre and find a map with the trapper’s house marked on it in a bag of gold. They track the ogre back to his camp and find a large bird footprint.

They escort the trapper back to town and then head back to the house.

That night, they were awoken by a vial hitting the side of the and a weird smell. They go investigate and find that the smell comes from the liquid that was in the vial. As they are investigating, 4 giant ants burst come to investigate the smell and attack. They defeat the ants, and explore the area. They find a trail of the bird footprints leading into the forest.

They followed the train and were ambushed by 4 Kenku. Geft created an obscuring mist, saving the party from the rogue’s sneak attacks. After a long battle, they defeated the Kenku and found a map of the area with a tomb marked on it.

They returned to town and found that the tomb likely belongs to one Ragnar Draketooth, whose tomb is rumored to be in the area, but has yet to be found. Parties have searched for it but haven’t found it. Most parties have disappeared, and the one survivor of one of the parties reported being attacked by Fey.

The party bought some cold iron weapons and prepared to go fight the Fey.

Elemental Band Episode 3

Unfortunately, the recorder ate session 3 of the Elemental Band. To give a summary, The party interrogated their prisoner and found out a little information about the abbey, etc. In exploring a room off the main room where they fought the previous episode, they found a concealed passage and opened that up.

They were beset by more manes and fiendish rats, but they held them off at the door and eventually killed them. The party continued exploring through a maze of passages encountering several traps. The Rogue in the lead fell into several pits covered by an illusion. Doors were also trapped. The Monk opened a door that caused a rock to fall, but missed him. Later, he wandered away from the party slightly to a corner that had two doors. He opened one door to find himself staring face to face with a heavy crossbow that missed him. He then opened the other door, only to find another heavy crossbow that hits him and drops him. The barbarian half orc brought him back though.

The party continued to explore, and the rogue started using caltrops tossed down a corridore to check for illusions. He attracted the attention of another swarm of rats and manes, backed up by a crystal statue of a minotaur. The Barbarian enlarged himself and held off the monsters at the edge of a pit that was in between the party and the creatures. One grease spell by the wizard, and many rats and manes fell to their entrapment in the pit or were smashed by the barbarian even though the barbarian was grieveously wounded. The statue was smashed to powder by the combined firepower of the party.

The party then went back to the main room to rest for the night and recovered the spell book of the wizard that they took prisoner.

This is the first episode of my other bi-weekly game. We are playing D&D 3.5 edition. Characters are starting at 2nd level. We are playing over Skype and using Maptools for a battle map.
