Malaysia's esports scene has achieved another significant milestone as Team Vertice emerged victorious at the Samsung #PlayGalaxy Cup Southeast Asia Regional Qualifiers on 13 June 2026. The Malaysian team of four were crowned regional champions and are slated to compete at the #PlayGalaxy Cup World Finals to be held during Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany.

The #PlayGalaxy Cup is a global tournament league highlighting the gaming performance of Galaxy devices. In 2026, the tournament expands into a yearlong global esports league in collaboration with PUBG Mobile — shifting from standalone events to a full-season format.

Team Vertice showcased exceptional skill, teamwork and consistency throughout the competition, overcoming some of Southeast Asia's strongest PUBG Mobile teams from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines. WCT has launched its latest CSR initiative, WCTGives“Threads of Hope”, in collaboration with Grace Community Services and Hazel & Nutz.

Through its engagement with GCS, WCT identified that many women within the community already possess basic hand-sewing skills, reflecting their resourcefulness and determination to support their families. However, limited access to sewing machines, materials, and structured training has made it challenging for them to further develop these skills into meaningful income opportunities.

To address this gap, WCT through WCTGives “Threads of Hope”, has developed a structured sewing programme in partnership with GCS and Hazel & Nutz. The 11-week programme comprises 11 sewing lessons, with each four-hour session conducted in small groups to ensure personalised guidance, practical coaching, and hands-on learning. The programme will culminate in a graduation day, where participants will showcase their completed sewing projects and celebrate their progress in developing skills that can support future income-generating opportunities.

Opening Diverse Pathways for Creators Worldwide

As part of efforts to recognize a wider range of creators and expand participation in the Awards, the OPPO Photography Awards 2026 introduces a diverse awards program that gives creators more opportunities to gain global exposure and showcase their work on a bigger stage.

In addition to the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards up for grabs in the main competition, participants can also earn recognition and generous incentives through Honorable Mentions, Regional Awards, and the Audience Choice Awards. A total of 38 different awards or acknowledgements are on offer recognizing outstanding creators across all categories, with a total prize pool of $76,500.

Global Competition Submissions Open Until December 31

Submissions for the OPPO Photography Awards 2026 and the first round of monthly contests are now open. Creators worldwide are invited to submit their entries and showcase their creativity and storytelling visions captured on OPPO, OnePlus or realme devices.

Entries for the global competition will remain open until 24:00 (UTC+8), December 31, 2026. Submissions for all categories can be made via the official OPPO Photography Awards website. Submissions for the Super Video category can also be made through Instagram and TikTok using the hashtags #SuperVideo and #ShotOnOPPO.

Munchy’s expands its crackers portfolio with the introduction of two new flavours, Cheese and Chocolate, unveiled at a launch event held at Mydin Subang Jaya.
