AMA University students once again proved their prowess and excellence as they bagged the Best Technology award in the recently concluded AppCon 2023.

During the awards ceremony of the AppCon 2023 last June 30, 2024 team Conquestadors from the AMA University were able to win the Best Technology award for the application they developed as their entry on the competition.

The Conquestadors team consists of students:Andrew Jules R.Miyajima, Kurt Lorenz Villanueva, Jemar Laborte, John Ronel Zuñiga, John A. Garcia, Niño B. Garcia, Prince Angelico A. Ebora, John Joseph M.Cuenco, Miguel Angel Bautista. Guiding them throughout their journey in the competition is their teacher coach, Justin Louise R. Neypes. The team was able to win Php 30,000, as well as a plaque of recognition and certificate.

There were originally 222 teams who initially joined the competition, in which 94 teams made it to the next stage. Out of the remaining 94 teams, the top 20 teams were selected to move in the finals round of the competition. Five winners for these awards were then selected: Grand Winner, Excellence, Best Product, Best Technology, and Most Creative.

This year’s AppCon 2023 theme is “A web or mobile application to resolve social issues in the Philippines”. Participants were advised to use Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Web 5.0, and Internet of Things in their entries.

The AMAER Team from AMA Computer College East Rizal Campus has bagged the 2nd Runner-Up position on June 6, in the regional leg of HackForGov, a nationwide cybersecurity competition held at LIMA Park Hotel, Lima Commercial Estate, Lipa-Malvar, Batangas.

With the theme “Today’s Generation, Tomorrow’s Champion: Shaping the Future of Cybersecurity through Shared Responsibility,” this HackForGov Capture-the-Flag (CTF) competition aims to raise awareness among students about the importance of cybersecurity and provide hands-on experience with techniques used in the virtual world. It features a series of challenges and scenarios simulating real-world cyber threats, covering various categories such as network security, web security, cryptography, and incident response.

The team consists of four members: Vergel Rady Maclang (BS CPE, 2nd Year), Donjhon Magarro (BSCS, 3rd Year), Francis Ulliz Malapitan (BS CPE, 3rd Year), and their team leader, Rosalyn Arevalo (BS CPE, 3rd Year).
