Moments later, APD located a vehicle that crashed at the 300 block of Concrete Street. The occupants in that vehicle were identified as suspects in the shooting. One of the occupants, Jeremy Reynolds, was arrested on multiple charges including Misconduct involving a Weapon and Assault 3.

The case remains under investigation.

A felony warrant for Escape III has been obtained for 36-year-old Brandon Perkins who walked away from the Parkview Center.

Perkins is approximately 5’10” tall, 161 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a black and white t-shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes.

The state’s Office of Special Prosecutions (OSP) will review the officer's use of force and determine whether it was justified. Once that has been completed, APD Internal Affairs will review the officer’s actions to confirm whether there was any violation of policy. As per APD practice, the officers will be placed on administrative leave and the name of the involved officer will be released in 72-hours. Once OSP has completed their investigation, their findings will be available for the public to review.

UPDATE: APD is investigating an Officer Involved Shooting at the 12000 Block of Industry Way. No officers were injured. More information will be forthcoming. Please be advised that a drone may be used in the area during the investigation.

On October 24, 2026, a drone was deployed near the 7200 block of Duben Ave to assist with an investigation.

At ​approximately ​6:55 PM on ​October 24, 2026​, officers assigned to ​patrol​ responded to the intersection of O’Malley Rd and Lake Otis Pkwy in reference to a multi vehicle collision. The preliminary investigation found that a vehicle was traveling westbound on O'Malley Rd approaching the intersection of O'Malley and Lake Otis Parkway and collided into the rear of a second vehicle which then collided with a third vehicle, who were both stopped at the light.

The occupants of vehicle 2, which included U.S. Senate candidate Mary Peltola, were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the first vehicle was also transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The occupant of vehicle 3 refused medical transport. 

The circumstances of the collision are under investigation.

This year’s national theme is: Make a Difference. Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free. The annual event takes place every October to raise awareness about drug prevention. APD’s School Resource Officer (SRO) Unit coordinates with the Alaska National Guard Counterdrug Support Program, along with other partners, to promote drug prevention. Red Ribbon Week kicked off with assemblies at some local schools in Anchorage.

As background, in 1985, Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Enrique S. “Kiki” Camarena was killed by drug traffickers. Shortly after his death, citizens from his hometown of Calexico, California, began wearing red ribbons to remember him and honor his sacrifice.

The first official Red Ribbon Week celebration was created by the National Family Partnership in 1988. NFP continues to coordinate the campaign for families, schools and communities across the nation each year. Since then, the red ribbon has symbolized a continuing commitment to reducing the demand for illicit drugs in our communities.

The Anchorage Police Department is assisting the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Missing Murdered Unit in locating a male adult who has been missing since July 1, 2026. 51-year old Peter Wesley’s Case was referred to the BIA from the Oglala Sioux Tribe-Pine Ridge Department of Public Safety in South Dakota. Peter Wesley has been missing since July 1, 2026 and is known to be in the Anchorage area. The last known contact was at the Anchorage Gospel Rescue Mission in late September.
