Lessons from "A School of Fish"

If you have noticed how "a school of fish" swims in the open sea, you will be amazed. Together they will swim in one direction, and they move together as a group. A dear friend of mine said to me, "Elaine, can you see the way they actually swim together in one direction as a group?" "This is what I call unity!" I paused. Before I could speak further, she tapped on my shoulder and said, "Hey Elaine, can you see there are a few fish that do not swim together with the rest of the fish?" "Oh well," she said, "Looks like there are some fish too, that do not want to swim together with the rest." And for the rest of the day, I pondered what she told me.

Living in unity does not mean that we have to agree on everything; there will be many opinions just as there are many instruments played during an orchestra. But we have to agree on one thing--to work together for the Lord. Our outward expression of unity will reflect our inward unity of purpose.

God gives us diverse gifts and talents so we could build up His Church. God's gifts and talents to us differ in nature, power and effectiveness according to His wisdom and graciousness, and not according to our own understanding.

May all who love the Lord be willing to bear with one another and forgive one another, as Jesus himself suffered in the hands of those He created--yet he was able to say, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."... (Luke 23: 34)

Prayer For The Pirates

In the days of sailing vessels, a party of Moravian missionaries was sailing toward St. Thomas in the West Indies. The ship on which they were sailing was called the Britannia. In those days, the southern seas were full of pirates; and one day a pirate ship was seen rapidly approaching the Britannia. Though poorly equipped for defense, all hands on Britannia were called to prepare to resist the pirates. The Moravian missionaries, however, retired to their cabin. There they began to pray for God to intervene and to not only spare human life, but to make it possible for them to continue on their trip so that they could carry the gospel message to a dark and waiting land.

The pirate ship continued to draw closer until it was within gunshot range of the Britannia; and then, from its many cannons, it began to poor out heavy fire. As the ships came closer together, the men along the pirate ship’s deck next prepared themselves to board the Britannia. In order to do this, they would throw large metal hooks attached to ropes on to the deck of the ship they wanted to board. As soon as the hooks, called grappling irons, fastened themselves to something, they would quickly pull themselves across to the ship on the ropes. Just at the moment the pirates threw their grappling irons across toward the Britannia, their own ship was suddenly tossed violently by the waves and the men who held the ropes were thrown headlong into the sea.

Irritated with this disaster, the pirate captain sent others to take the place of the fallen men. When they also tried to board the Britannia, the same thing happened to them. Seeing he could not succeed in this manner, the captain ordered his guns to fire again; but strange to say, the balls all missed the Britannia, falling harmlessly into the sea. The smoke of the frequent firing of the guns was, however, very dense and hung about the vessels for quite some time, hiding them from each other’s view. When at last a gust of wind cleared away the smoke, to the amazement of the pirate captain, the Britannia was seen to be far away with all her sails set, speeding rapidly away from him. The pirates gave up the chase as hopeless, feeling completely frustrated by their failure to capture the ship on which the missionaries were sailing.

For five years after their arrival, the missionaries continued to faithfully preach the gospel in St. Thomas. On the fifth anniversary of their narrow escape, they, along with the other brethren on the island, assembled together to celebrate. As they were sitting together, word was brought that a stranger wished to speak to them. At their permission, a tall, fine-looking man with a pleasant expression on his face entered. He asked if they were the missionaries who had come to the island in the Britannia five years before.

“We are,” replied the brother whom he addressed.

“And were you attacked upon the sea by pirates?” asked the stranger.

“Yes,” replied the brother, but why are you asking these questions?”

“Because,” answered the stranger, ‘I am the captain who commanded the pirate ship that attacked you. The miraculous way in which your ship escaped was the reason for my own salvation from the power of sin through faith in Christ.”

The stranger then proceeded to tell them how, on making inquiry, he was led to conclude that it was through the prayers of the missionaries that the Britannia escaped. As a result, he was determined to visit their place of worship. Finding a Moravian mission, he was there converted from the error of his ways.

“And thus,” he concluded, “from the pirate captain I am become a poor sinner, justified by the grace and mercy of Christ. My hope has been that I might some day be able to find you and tell you of my miraculous conversion. This joy has now been granted me today.”

Where is God ?

A couple had two little boys, ages 8 and 10, who were excessively mischievous. The two boys were always getting into trouble and their parents could be assured that if any mischief occurred in their town, their two sons were in some way involved. The parents were at their wits end as to what to do about their sons' behavior. The mother had heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children in the past, so she asked her husband if he thought that they should send the boys to speak to the clergyman. The husband said, "We might as well. We need to do something before something really bad happens."

The clergyman agreed to speak with the boys, but asked to see them individually. The 8 year old went to meet with him first. The clergyman sat the boy down and asked him, "Where is God?"

The boy made no response, so the clergyman repeated the question in a stern tone, "Where is God?"

Again the boy made no attempt to answer, so the clergyman raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boys face, "Where is God?"

At that the boy bolted from the room and ran directly home slamming himself in his closet. His older brother followed him into the closet and said, "What happened?"

The younger brother replied, "Oh darn, We are in BIG TROUBLE this time! God is missing and they think we did it!"

Are You Listening?

A man was walking through a forest pondering life.
He walked and pondered, walked and pondered.
He felt very close to nature and even closer to God,
so close that he felt if he spoke, God would listen.

So he asked, "God, are you listening?"
And God replied, "Yes, my son, I am here."

The man stopped and pondered some more.
He looked up to the sky and said,
"God, what is a million years to you?"
God replied,
"Well, my son, a second to me is like a million years to you."

So the man continued to walk and ponder... walk and ponder...
Then he looked to the sky again and said,
"God, what is a million dollars to you?"
And God replied,
"My son, a penny to me is like a million dollars to you."
It means almost nothing to me.
It does not even have any value, it is so little."

The man looked down, pondered a bit,
and then looked up to the sky and said,
"God, can I have a million dollars?"
And God replied, "In a second."

Journey to Jerusalem

Jesus Rides into Jerusalem

Jesus and his disciples were walking to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover. When they were nearly there, Jesus sent two of his friends for a donkey. He told them to tell the owner that he needed it. The disciples did as they were asked and brought the donkey to Jesus. As he rode into Jerusalem, people saw Jesus coming and covered the path with their garments and palm leaves. They shouted 'Hosanna' and 'Jesus is the King.'

Judas Betrays Jesus

Most people were very happy, but this did not include some of the priests who were jealous of Jesus. They did not like it that ordinary people liked him so much. They wanted an excuse to arrest Jesus and kill him. Judas Iscariot, one of Jesus' disciples went to them in secret and told them he would betray him. The priests and elders gave Judas thirty pieces of silver. From then on he waited for his chance to get Jesus into trouble.

Jesus sat down to a meal with his twelve friends. He looked very sad. His friends asked him 'What is the matter?' He told them he would have to go away the next day to be with his Father in heaven. Jesus' friends were sad then too. The disciples said they would not let anything happen to him. Jesus told them that one of them had already taken money to betray him. They all looked at each other. Judas stood up and walked out.

Jesus told his friends about the people in Jerusalem who did not like him and that the next day he would be arrested and nailed to a cross.

So that they would remember him Jesus broke some bread and said 'This is my body. Take it and eat it and remember me.' Then he took a cup of wine and told them that it was his blood. They should drink it and remember him.

Jesus and his friends walked to the garden of Gethsemane. Jesus was very sad and asked Peter, James and John to watch over him while he prayed.

As he prayed, his friends fell asleep as they were very tired. Just then, Judas arrived with many men who carried swords. They had been sent by the priests to arrest Jesus.

Judas went up to Jesus and kissed him on the cheek. This was Judas' way of picking out Jesus to the soldiers. Straight away two of the guards seized Jesus.

Peter drew his sword and cut off the ear of one of these men. Jesus told him he should not have done that. He touched the man and his ear was healed. The disciples were afraid and ran for their lives.

Peter's Denial

'I do not know Jesus'

Earlier Jesus had predicted that his disciples would betray him. Peter said this was not possible. Jesus explained 'Before the cock crows at dawn you will have disowned me three times.' Peter had replied 'Never'. Jesus, now under arrest, was being questioned by the Jewish council. As Peter watched from a distance, people asked if he was a friend of Jesus. Three times he denied knowing him. Suddenly the cock crowed and he cried as he recalled Jesus' words.

The Trial of Jesus

The Jewish leaders wanted Jesus to be guilty. They found it difficult to find anything that he had done wrong, even though they paid people to lie about him. Eventually they asked him if he was the Son of God. Jesus replied 'I am.' This was enough. They said this was an insult to God. Jesus was taken before Pontius Pilate, the Roman Governor.

Pilate Washes his Hands

The chief priests, who wanted Jesus to die, persuaded the people to set free a murderer called Barabbas. Pilate asked what he should do with Jesus, known as the 'King of the Jews'. 'Crucify him!' shouted the people. Pilate asked 'Why? What has he done?' The people continued to shout. Pilate called for a bowl of water and let everyone see him washing his hands of sending an innocent man to his death. He ordered that Barabbas be freed instead.

The Crown of Thorns

'Hail! King of the Jews'

The soldiers took Jesus away, removed his clothes and dressed him in a purple robe. On his head they placed a crown of thorns. Mocking him they knelt down before him and said 'Hail, King of the Jews'. As the blood ran down his forehead they made fun of him. Jesus never said a word.

Then they took him away and laid a heavy wooden cross on his back.

Jesus was made to carry the cross out of the city gates and up a nearby hill. On the way some of the crowd cheered, others wept.

On top of the hill Jesus was put on the cross and nails were put through his hands and feet. The cross was raised up. Two robbers were also put on crosses, one on either side of Jesus. One of the robbers was feeling very afraid. Jesus spoke to him and comforted him.

Jesus' mother watched him on the cross. He called to one of his friends to look after her now. Many people in the crowd were cruel. They said 'You saved other people, why don't you save yourself now?'

At noon darkness fell on the land. It lasted a few hours. Jesus cried out aloud, 'My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?' In the sadness and the dark, Jesus died.

At the moment Jesus died, the earth shook. One of the soldiers who had been keeping guard said 'This man was the Son of God.' Many people began to feel afraid.

Some of the friends of Jesus and his mother waited for permission from Pontius Pilate to take Jesus down from the cross. They laid the body in a tomb cut in the rock. The tomb was sealed with a large stone.

Risen from the Dead

Jesus is Alive

Two days later a friend of Jesus known as Mary Magdalen went to the tomb. She was astonished to find that the huge stone had been moved and the body had gone.

She ran to tell Peter and John who only found burial sheets in the tomb. Mary, weeping, was approached by a man she did not know, who asked her why she was crying. She explained that it was because they had taken her Lord away. The man was Jesus risen from the dead.

Jesus is Alive

Sharing the News

Believing him to be the gardener, Mary asked if he knew where Jesus body had been taken.

Jesus said 'Mary, it is I'. Mary was full of joy. Jesus told her to tell his friends that she had seen him and that he would soon be with his father in Heaven. Mary ran back to tell all their friends the news. At first not everyone believed her.

The Disciples See Jesus

Jesus appeared to the disciples several times. Once, when they had been fishing on the Sea of Galilee, he called to them from the shore. He asked them if they had caught many fish. They replied 'Nothing.' Jesus told them to drop their nets on the right side of the boat. They did this and when they pulled in their nets, they were full of fish. It was only then that they realised that the man was Jesus. They came ashore and had a meal of fish with him.

The Ascension

Jesus Ascends to Heaven

Later Jesus spoke to all of the disciples telling them that once he had left them they would receive the power of the Holy Spirit. He wanted them to spread the word of God throughout the world.

Jesus was then taken up into heaven. Two angels appeared and told his friends not to be sad because one day Jesus would return.

Kitten & Snake Story

It was unusually dark for being just eight o’clock in the evening. A 16-hour power out had left our small community in India in a thick blackness. Dinner was over and we were congregated on the porch waiting for the electricity to come back on. A kerosene lamp dimly lit the corridor. The evening prayers would be said at nine o’clock. Perhaps the lights would turn on by then. Children gathered in small groups and spoke quietly as the adults lounged sleepily here and there amongst them. Mosquitoes swarmed in the night air creating a strange, quiet hum.

Five year Johnson, affectionately known as Johnny, had been sitting quietly at my feet playing contentedly with his little black and white kitten. She batted playfully at the finger Johnny twirled in the air just above her tiny, pink nose. Suddenly, the kitten stopped, perked her ears, and went stone still for a moment. Her gaze fixed on something beyond the area illuminated by our small lamp. She hopped gracefully from Johnny’s lap in pursuit of whatever her beady eyes had fallen upon. Johnny gleefully fell in step behind her, despite my warning him to come back. Johnny was after his kitten and paid me no heed. Finally, I sent Siva after him. Siva was a bright youngster in the sixth grade, and readily obeyed me. She followed in the direction that Johnny and his kitten had gone, and was out of sight for just moments before running back to me, obviously panicked. Taking me by the hand, she led me to the scene that caused her fear. As I looked, my heart leaped to my throat and I went rigid. There, coiled in front of me, was a black cobra, its hood flared and his head moving hypnotically back and forth, hissing at the kitten, which was moving in circles around it. Terrified and stunned, I stood motionless alongside Siva, peering in the darkness to see what would happen. The next thing we knew, we were blinded by bright light—the electricity was turned back on. As our eyes adjusted, we could see clearly the little kitten as it stared down the cobra, still waving back and forth in the air. Two men cautiously approached the terrible snake from behind and struck it on the head, killing it.

That night as we said our prayers, I knelt beside little Johnny’s bed. Curled in his arms, purring softly, was his kitten. In the darkness we are unaware of what may visit us, and his kitten had saved us from a very dangerous predator. Yes, God uses not just humans, but animals too, for his purpose. He used ravens to feed his prophet, a great whale to carry Jonah, a donkey to check his servant—and just tonight, Jesus had used a tiny kitten to warn us of the venomous serpent so that we could sleep safely in his care. God is ever present to safeguard his people, and his mightiest helpers are sometimes the smallest.

Prayer for a Homeless Man

A prayer for the homeless is a way to lift up those experiencing hardship, asking for their protection, provision, and hope. It also serves as a reminder to soften our own hearts and take action to support the most vulnerable in our communities.

I pray that someday you get enough food to eat,
And you no longer have to live on the streets.

I pray your days may get brighter,
And the heavy burdens You carry,become lighter

I pray you find hope though somedays,
It must feel you are at the end of your rope

I pray as the months start to become cold,
You find a warm and safe place to go

I pray someday that more people in this world
Will lend you a helping hand
and not look down on you,
because you are A Homeless Man.

Scriptural Prayer:

Righteous Father, we thank You for being a God of grace and mercy. Thank You for knowing each homeless person and family intimately. Thank You for being their protection, shelter, hope, and help. The heavens proclaim Your Glory, Lord. The skies display Your craftsmanship. Day after day they continue to speak; night after night You are made known. Father, Your instructions are perfect, reviving the soul. Your decrees are trustworthy, making wise the simple. Your commandments are right, bringing joy to the heart. Your commands are clear, giving insight for living. Reverencing You is pure, lasting forever. Your laws are true; each one is fair. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.

Glorious Father, we confess that Your arm is not too weak to save the homeless, neither is Your ear deaf to hear their calls. Lord, You know each of them and call them by name. You know everything about them, when they sit down and when they stand up. You know their thoughts even when they are far away. We rejoice Mighty King, because You said You will never fail nor abandon them. Lord, You said that the poor will always be among us, but You also mandated that we take care of them. You said that we are to share our food with the hungry, give shelter to the homeless, and give clothes to those who need them and to not hide from our relatives who need our help. We declare that, as believers, we will commit to feeding the hungry and helping those who are in trouble. Lord, then You will guide us continually, give us water when we are dry and restore our strength.

Patchwork Heart - Poem

“What is a patchwork heart?” you ask,
Well, most all folks surely have one
A patchwork heart has many seams
Before God’s work is done.

Our hearts were perfect when we came
No scars the surface showed
But in so many different ways
Our hearts reaped what we sowed.

A patchwork heart’s been broken
At least a thousand times
The scars of life are showing
For all of life is not sublime.

A patchwork heart’s most any heart
That’s survived the flames of life
Its seams are stitched together
With joy and tears and strife.

For as He wishes us to be
So shall He mold our hearts
To create a better person
Who from Him will not depart.

So if your heart’s been broken
Like a puzzle fallen apart
Let God stitch it back together
And be proud of your patchwork heart.

Lent in a Bag: An Activity for Church or Home

What is Lent in a Bag?

Great for sending from the congregation out to the "domestic church" by distributing small bags (cloth, paper, or ziplock bags) with symbols of the season which assists individuals and families in practicing Lent at home. In addition to the items, include instructions, and reflections (on purple paper of course) to go with each item.

Place the Following Items in a Bag of Your Choice

Instruction Sheet
Include a piece of paper with these (or similar) instructions, or attach it to the outside of the bag:

"Here are two suggestions for using the contents of this bag:
1. Choose one night of the week and invite those around your table to pick one of the symbols as a starting point for conversation for the whole group, including children.
2. For your own devotion, daily or weekly, choose one of the symbols for your own reflection as you make your way through the season of Lent."

Sand
Place a sealable baggie filled with sand. Include the following (or similar) reflection:

"Just between his baptism and the beginning of his adult ministry, Jesus went into the wilderness for 40 days, ‘to be tested’. What constitutes wilderness in your life? What have you learned there? What might you learn there?"

Rock
Place a rock inside the bag. Include the following (or similar) reflection:

"While in the wilderness, Jesus was invited to transform stone into bread. Though he resisted the temptation there and then, he became justly renowned for feeding people who were hungry for food, or for love, or for a word of encouragement, or for simple acceptance. Might there be a stony place in you that needs transforming? Some attitude or habit that, with a little attention, might even become a gift for you and others?"

Human Figure
Use a clothespin or wooden figure. Place inside the bag with the following (or similar) reflection:

"Because Jesus was, as we confess, fully human, he gets us, understands us from inside our skin, and knows from experience that we’re each capable of great things, Godly things. And no matter what we do, he keeps on inviting us to join us in his work which has become our own. As you enter this Lent, what might you plan to do over these 40 days so that come Easter you will more closely reflect the Christ who lives in and through you?"

Candle
Place a candle inside the bag. Include the following (or similar) reflection:

"Lent begins in the dimness of late winter and ends with the burst of bright spring. Jesus is, according to John’s gospel, ‘The Light of the World’ and that Light insists: ‘You are the light of the world. Don’t be hiding under some bushel basket.’ So where do you shine? How do you keep your light lit?"

Lenten Liturgical Tea

Water Scripture- Matthew 27: 22-25 - for when Pilate washes his hands.

Olives Scripture- Luke 22: 39-46 – these are symbolic of Jesus’ agony in the garden (at the Mount of Olives).

Pretzel Rod Cross Scripture- John 19: 17- 19 – symbolic of the crucifixion.

Hershey’s Kiss Scripture- Luke 22: 47-48 – this is symbolic of the kiss of Judas.

Ritz Cracker with peanut butter and broken pretzel bits around the edge Scripture- John 19: 1-3 – symbolic of the crown of thorns placed on Jesus’ head.

Sword With Cheese Scripture- Luke 22: 49-54 – To stand for Jesus’ arrest.

Hard-Boiled Egg Scripture- Luke 22: 55-62 – symbolic of Peter’s denial. (Note: Cocks don’t lay eggs, but we can’t eat chicken on Good Friday, and this meal needed a little protein.)

Silver Peppermint Patty Scripture- Matthew 27: 3-8 – Judas’ 30 pieces of silver.

Salt and Vinegar Chips Scripture- John 19: 28-30 – for when they offered Jesus vinegar to drink.

Pretzel Nets Full of Fish Scripture - John 21:1-14 – Jesus appearing to the disciples, while they were fishing.

Fig Newtons to remind us of the story of the fig tree in the Garden of Gethsemane
Flatbread for the unleavened bread that Jesus broke and shared. Pita bread would be great here too.
Tic Tacs to symbolize the bitter tears that Peter wept realizing that he denied the Lord, as Jesus had foretold
Cool Whip to remind us of the “clouds of heaven” that Jesus told Caiaphas that he would be returning on.
Celestial Seasoning Sleepytime Tea to remind us of how the apostles fell asleep while Jesus was praying in the garden.

A Tea Party For Jesus

I awoke this morning wondering
If my Jesus would like tea
So I took my dollies off the shelf
Then asked Him to join me

I dressed my dollies lovingly
In their awesome Sunday best
Then dressed myself up in some bows
You know we had to look our best!

I got down on my knees to pray
Then asked the Lord above
If he would like cream & sugar
Or just some tea with love

For I know my eyes can't see Him
But my heart shows me the way
With faith I always reach Him
I count on that each day

I felt His presence with me
When pouring the first cup
Of course I gave that one to Him
And with us He did sup

It was a very special day indeed
One I will not forget
The day that Jesus joined me
In the tea party I did set

You know He's with us always
He is never far away
Just talk to Him, and love Him
For He will join you too, today

The Cold Within - Inspirational Story

Six humans trapped by happenstance
In black and bitter cold
Each possessed a stick of wood,
Or so the story's told.

Their dying fire in need of logs,
The first woman held hers back
For on the faces around the fire
She noticed one was black.

The next man looking 'cross the way
Saw one not of his church
And couldn't bring himself to give
The fire his stick of birch.

The third one sat in tattered clothes
He gave his coat a hitch,
Why should his log be put to use
To warm the idle rich?

The rich man just sat back and thought
Of the wealth he had in store,
And how to keep what he had earned
From the lazy, shiftless poor.

The black man's face bespoke revenge
As the fire passed from his sight,
For all he saw in his stick of wood
Was a chance to spite the white.

And the last man of this forlorn group
Did naught except for gain,
Giving only to those who gave
Was how he played the game.

The logs held tight in death's stilled hands
Was proof of human sin,
They didn't die from the cold without,
They died from the cold within.

Puppy Love

What a wonder is sweet puppy love
With us always in our deepest woe,
Only loyal while we weep on
Remaining ever close.
Somehow understanding joy and sorrow
Intrinsically as one,
While we are busy trying to find release
And let the pain be done.

For, there's something very special
About the bonding they will show in grief,
Don't we wonder at their loving touch
How together we can weep.
As sorrows call forth a depth in relationship
Never felt another way,
And while we contemplate the ways of suffering
For what comfort we will pray.

And then how much more we appreciate
Blessings that come our way
If we like a puppy, feel another's pain
Might we never more complain.
They are grateful in innocent joy no matter what
So at rest will they be
How can we like them, accept things as they are
In all the heartache that we see.

Circumstances remain the same
Yet their hearts are free,
How will we find a joyous release like they
Within the limitations that we feel.
Can we too, trust a Master
With such blind devotion of heart,
Believing His abounding care
Is in all He does impart.

A puppy's tender eye of love
Speaks so, of how fragile we also are,
Ever subject to the big world's unknowns
Who can safely keep our tender heart.
Oh, Jesus is our trusted loving master
For He broke the power of fear and death,
We can be secure in Him, just like puppy love
If in His love we rest.

The Mission Field

Take a walk in the park
you have a lot to see
The pitiful little children
not so blessed as we.

This is a mission field
no missionary is there
We just over look them
not much time to spare.

Some who have so much to give
don't go to foreign land
To find God's plan for you
fill these little empty hands.

We need to teach each one
about Jesus Christ their Lord
They need our help right here
they haven't enough, they need more.

Take a moment, look around
find some way to help
Just share the things you have
you'll feel better about yourself.

These are God's children too
the poor and needy he spoke about
Lets open up our hearts
we all can help them out.

Church Football

Dear Saints,

Well, it is that inevitable time for sports enthusiasts and others for the big SuperBowl activities. In fact, I heard that Fox Network is going to begin pre-game activities this morning, the game isn’t until 5:30 p.m. this afternoon!

With that said, I thought you would enjoy the following:

Church Football

Benchwarmer - Those who do not sing, pray, work, or apparently do anything but sit.

Quarterback Sneak - Church members quietly leaving during the invitation.

Draw Play - What many children do with the bulletin during worship.

Halftime - The period between Sunday 5chool and worship when many choose to leave

Backfield-in-Motion - Making a trip to the back (restroom or water fountain) repeatedly during the service.

Staying in the Pocket - What happens to a lot of money that should be given to the Lord’s work.

Instant Replay - The preacher loses his notes and falls back on last week’s illustrations.

Trap - You’re called on to pray and are asleep.

End Run - Getting out of church quick, without speaking to any guest or fellow member.

Flex Defense - The ability to allow absolutely nothing said during the sermon to affect your life.

Blitz - The rush for the restaurants following the closing prayer.

Two-minute Warning - The point at which you realize the sermon is almost over and begin to gather up your children and belongings.

Halfback Option - The decision of 75% of the congregation not to return for the evening service.

Sudden Death - What happens to the attention span of the congregation if the preacher goes "overtime".

I hope you found that as humorous as I did. Maybe you didn't! Oh well, the warped humor of a christian! Smile!
