Since 2012, Bethel has been sending teams to this region, and our leaders bring years of experience leading groups ranging from 12–23 members. Angela’s life was guided and directed by the hand of God and still is today. God places the hard struggles in our lives to prepare us for the things to come. God’s hand and work is evident and so encouraging in Angela’s life. At this point she has had 11 kids who she has adopted, and a total of 60-70 kids fostered over the years in her home. Her desire to obey the Lord has allowed her to set aside her selfishness and follow what God has wanted in her life. Praise God! I pray as you listen, the Lord will stir in your heart a desire to make much of Christ in your home. I am here and ready to serve the local body of believers, and ready to get after it. Or, I am really hesitant and not sure if I should, or what area of the church I should serve in. These are often two extremes I see in the lives of many people at Bethel. Some are stoked to get after it and jump in headfirst, ready to go. Others have questions; they want to check things out and see what is best. Nothing is wrong with either. Often, we plan and have a direction on what we think is best and then the Lord guides in another way that is unexpected. Brad Smith’s story has that unexpected turn that he did not see coming. How are you? “Oh man we are busy.” This is often what we say or hear from others we speak with. Is it true? If so, has this caused issues in our lives? Amy is going to help guide us on how creating margin in her life has helped her to thrive in her walk with Christ and in her family life. We all need to process how to create margin in our lives, even in a busy season, and talk through how to say “yes” and “no” to the right/wrong things. The heart of this conversation is way more about how to honor God in our lives than to have the margin. Taking the time to look at how we spend our lives and what we spend our time on will give us a picture into our lives in ways we can honor God even more. Now, let’s get after it.

People often tell me they are not connected to the body of believers in our church. Why is that? Do we not really love others, or is this a ginormous blind spot in our church body? Everyone has different needs, desires, and expectations, but all people want to be cared for and loved by others. We are commanded by God to do just that. So, what does it look like for us to see our blind spots, confess those, and to seek after people in such a way that expresses the Gospel in our lives and is poured out upon others.

Every child matters; we are all created in the image of God. Children help us see the created handiwork of God in humanity. Kristi Stroud and her family have experienced this up close and very personal. Loving the child with extra needs. Kristi helps unpack their family and how having a son with some extra needs has been both joyful and difficult. She dives into their family dynamics and what they expected versus the reality. It is so cool to be able to hear the heart of a mom be transparent about what is going on in their family right now. Excited you would join and I pray this conversation expresses the gospel as you listen to a mom express amazing love for her son.

Our desire is to have one Worship Ministry at Bethel. This includes our Student Worship Team. What desires and expectations do we have and why do we have them? What questions should we be asking those who are on the Worship Ministry Team and those who want to join? Please enjoy the conversation where we unpack these things. Many have different expectations for an adult worship team than they do for a student worship team. We are wanting to do all we can to mobilize our teenagers and to have high challenge and high support for them. This includes us doing all we can to treat our students as adults and have the same expectations for them as we do for adults. It is so amazing to see our church body desire to help lead others in worship. We want to do all we can to do that in a way that honors God and magnifies the name of Christ in our lives and in our environments at Bethel Church.
