ready for the world

Not to be confused with the forthcoming Twin Sister remix, but gorgeous/haunting nonetheless thanks to some well-placed melodica:

cremona memories

2010-06-23T15:15:00.000-05:00

We don't know much about Greece's mysterious Keep Shelly in Athens, aside from the fact that he/she makes Euro-lounge/Balearic-tinged smooth jams that recall everything from Quiet Village and Coyote Clean Up to early Weird Tapes/Memory Cassette and the more soothing side of CFCF. Easy listening for balmy summer nights:

l'aventure

2010-06-21T13:15:00.000-05:00

As a follow-up of sorts to last year's stellar Ram on L.A. compilation, Aquarium Drunkard has curated a tribute comp for Television’s overlooked 1978 sophomore album Adventure, with all donations from the (free) download going to benefit the Silverlake Conservatory of Music. Like the McCartney tribute, L’Aventure features covers from some of L.A.'s finest, including this version of "The Fire" from Imaad Wasif, with help on vocals coming from Sweden's Lykke Li:
