Prologue

April 20th

Dizziness assailed Meggie, the world around her gray and distant. Her head pounded and her ribs throbbed. She lay next to a body so hot, she swore fire blazed nearby, although darkness surrounded her and a chill hung in the air.

Oh God! Mystic had her in the underground bunker. Christopher rescuing her had been a dream. Soon, she’d die.

The heat engulfing her body gave her pause.

Every inch of her ached and her mouth was so dry she could’ve drunk gallons of water. Except she needed light. She’d hated the darkness long before Mystic had kidnapped her. That ordeal made her despise it as much as she feared it.

She couldn’t have been in Mystic’s freezing cold prison, so where was she? Where was the light? And where were her husband and children?”

“Christopher?” she croaked.

The weight pressing against her moved, fanning the flames threatening to consume her.

“Megan.”

“Christopher?” she whispered, not understanding why he sounded as if it took all his strength to call her name.

Drawing in a deep breath, she searched her memory. Bits and pieces floated back to her. Christopher had been shot and she had been beaten...

Her nostrils flared and tears slid down her cheeks. No!

She couldn’t think about what had happened. Later, she’d do her best to remember. Right now, she had to save her husband.

Moving proved impossible. He lay partially against her, deadweight. She tried to push him away but couldn’t budge him.

“Christopher, please, you’ve got to slide over,” she said, her voice as loud as possible, even though talking hurt her throat. “I need to help you. You’re burning with fever.”

“Megan, baby.”

“I’m here. You’re badly hurt. You’ve got to move over so I can get up.”

“What the fuck he fuckin’ did to you?”

“Move. They might come back and—”

“Fuckin’ fucked-up fuckheads ain’t fuckin’ able to come fuckin’ back,” he mumbled.

“Okay,” she said, too tired to argue. It was pointless anyway. Christopher was fever-ridden and delirious.

He inched away from her in slow, agonizing degrees. With each move, he moaned and trembled. But finally, his weight was gone.

She sat up, in agony. She intended to swing her legs over the side of the bed. Instead, rope cut into her ankles. Attempting to lift her arm resulted in a similar outcome. Only this time, the hemp burned her wrists. Unless she untied her wrists, she couldn’t reach her ankle. No matter how she tried, though, the rope wouldn’t give. It tightened.

A sob escaped her, and she shuddered. They’d been tied together, left to die. More than likely, Christopher wouldn’t last much longer.

“Megan.”

Even as weak as he sounded, his voice comforted her.

“Why you cryin’?”

He was too feverish to realize the direness of their situation. Maybe, she was selfish and should just stay quiet so his final moments would be peaceful.

“Megan, ain’t no reason to cry, baby. You fuckin’ safe. I killed him.”

She sniffled, her head pounding. “We will die, Christopher. He tied us together at the wrists and ankles. I can’t get the knot loose.”

He moved, his hand landing heavily on her stomach. “Show me.”

Taking his hand in hers, she tried to lift his arm. Once again, the muscled deadweight made it impossible. “I love you, Christopher,” she whispered, exhausted.

“Show me,” he ordered again.

“I can’t. Not without your help.”

He grunted. His touch didn’t come immediately, but he finally took her hand in his and lifted. “Don’t take too fuckin’ long, Megan. My fuckin’ arm heavier than a motherfucker and when it fuckin’ fall, it might knock you the fuck out.”

She smiled through her tears. “Psycho,” she said, ignoring his moan of pain to accomplish their goal.

He sniggered, his hand smacking against their knotted wrists. “Lil’ pain in the motherfucker.”

“I-I think you mean pain in the ass.”

“Okay, baby,” he said, his fingers working the knot. “It’s looser,” he panted.

It was and she started maneuvering the rope.

“Megan, baby,” Christopher said, wheezing. “You the best fuckin’ thing ever happened to me. You made me a better man and I ain’t ever gonna stop lovin’ you, even in death. Just promise me you gonna be happy and never forget how much I love you and how much you mean to me. You my fuckin’ world. Whatever man you give yourself to gonna have the most gorgeous, loyal, and lovin’ woman in the world.”

The knot gave and they were free as Christopher fell silent.

“Christopher!” Meggie called, hysteria setting in again. “Christopher, don’t die. Don’t leave me. Please. I need you. I’ll be lost without you. Please! Hold on.”

At first, he didn’t respond, then he groaned. “Megan—”

“No, I’m not listening. You must survive. I’m selfish and horrible, but I don’t care. I can’t lose you.”

“What the fuck I ever brought you but danger, baby? Look at this—”

“We’re in this situation because of me.”

“We here cuz I love you.” He paused to draw in breath. “We in this situation cuz a motherfucker found where we was at.” Another pause, longer. “Motherfucker scoped us out cuz of me.”

While he’d been talking, she managed to free their ankles. She threw herself against him and placed her lips over his dry ones. “I love you. If you want me to be happy, you’ve got to stay alive.”

He grunted.

“You always said my voice could bring you back from the dead,” she said tearfully. “Hear it now. Please. I love you. Our children love you. CJ idolizes you. You’ll break his heart.” Her voice cracked. “You’ll break my heart.”

He didn’t say anything, but his chest still rose and fell. Every minute counted. She swung her legs over the side of the bed. When she stood, her feet didn’t hit the floor. They landed on an uneven board. She tried to walk but lost her balance and fell. Her chin hit a face, icy and hard and…dead.

She screamed.

“Fuck. I guess you fuckin’ found the fucked-up fuckhead.”

Chapter One - Rebel

Life was to be lived and enjoyed, and death ignored. Day-to-day, Rebel Caldwell never considered the true meaning behind the circle of life. Her parents insulated her from the bad. In spite of her father’s profession, and that of most of the men in her family, she didn’t dwell on if Daddy or Diesel or Uncle Mort or any of them would return home at the end of the day. She just expected it to be so. She saw them as invincible, so they were.

Momma managed to hide her fears about Daddy’s safety. Rebel’s aunts kept smiles on their faces and a united front no matter what else might be happening.

In Rebel’s mind, death was a distant reality that she wouldn’t have to think about for ages. Then her mother collapsed, one of her brothers overdosed, and her twin almost drowned her. Death was no longer an occurrence that would happen decades from now and that could be shrugged off. It was at the forefront of her mind. Inevitable. Inescapable.

Rebel blinked at the TV screen, silent and dark, like the world around her. The soft light behind her hospital bed cut through the pitch black and offered a small reprieve, but her mind whirled. Coldness surrounded her and she kept envisioning herself underwater, fighting to escape, clawing at Rule’s arms, trying to pry his fingers away. Her hair spread out, wet and heavy, an umbrella hiding her brother’s fingers from their dirty work.

Except her thoughts betrayed her. When Rule tried to drown her, she’d been unconscious. He’d conked her in the head, so that freezing dampness seeping into her skin and pouring through her body was a figment of her imagination. Had he killed her, she would’ve died without knowing how or why she’d crossed over.

She drew in a deep breath, gasping for air and struggling to breathe. She didn’t remember much about her arrival to the hospital.When she awakened and talked to her father, he told her what happened. Saving Rule was uppermost in her mind. Butterfly Kisses, the song Daddy played for her, soothed her turmoil and she’d fallen asleep. Now, hours later, her lungs hurt and felt full, almost as if water remained in them.

Coughing seized her and stole more of her breath. Pain radiated from her chest and she moaned. The bedside light flicked on and Daddy stood next to her bed. He grabbed her hand as a nurse rushed in.

“She just started coughin’.” The worry in Daddy’s voice matched the look on his face. “It woke me up.”

“My chest is hurting,” Rebel croaked, her coughing lessening. She squeezed Daddy’s hand, comforted by his presence.

“That’s normal, Rebel,” the nurse said gently. “The doctor makes his rounds between eight and nine, Mr. Caldwell. He’ll check her out and discuss options based on what he finds.”

She sounded so nice, but Rebel was too tired to look at her badge and discover her name to thank her when she felt better.

“My baby girl’s gonna be okay?” Daddy asked quietly.

“Yes, sir. She’s one of the lucky ones.” The nurse reached over Rebel and twisted a green knob, then patted her arm. “I’ve increased your flow of oxygen.” She pulled out a syringe and turned to the IV, inserting the needle into the injection port. “There, love. You should feel better soon.”

Foggy warmth spread through Rebel. She tried to keep her eyes open, afraid to close them, afraid a watery grave awaited her.

“I don’t wait to die,” she whispered.

Daddy kissed her forehead. “You fine, Reb. I ain’t lettin’ nothin’ happen to you, baby.”

“Okay,” she said, believing him.

Her eyes slipped closed.

Delaney and Larissa do not. Kamika’s interest in both Delaney and Beau is as eye-opening for the reader as it is for our protagonist. They both have qualities that draw her. Although she is bisexual, she has always shown a stronger interest in women, so I have an idea who she will choose. Mesmerized is more than a romance or a love triangle. It is a granddaughter's journey of grief, regret, and love. She grieved her grandmother long before her actual death, but at least there was always the possibility of reconciliation.

As Kamika’s hurt and anger disintegrate and she begins to understand her grandmother’s motivations with the help of her ghost, she heals and grows in a beautifully written journey. Nevaeh has a way with words that not only tells Kamika’s story but also breathes life into the world of Mesmerized. As a Louisiana native, I am truly impressed by the author's vivid scenery. I urge you to read this paranormal romance, the first book in the series. I'm ready for Bewitched, book 2!

From the moment CJ Caldwell was born, I intended to tell his story. Just as he captured the hearts of my readers, he too captured mine. I wrote him to be the little boy I dreamed of having as a younger woman, before I was blessed with three beautiful girls. Writing him as a mischievous little boy was a highlight of the OG series, and writing him as he grows up has been bitter sweet.

Maybe, that's why it took so long for Reckless to come out. Perhaps, a part of me wasn't ready to let go of that child I grew to adore. Perhaps, I needed to see him as a teenager to ease into him as an adult.

Combine my personal reservations with family, health, and money issues, and I kept pushing the transition book back.

But then, a miracle happened. A light at the end of the tunnel as I finally completed the last chapter. It took me three years, but at last, Reckless was finished.

However, CJ's story was far from done, and what was supposed to be one book then two then three has become seven, with the fifth due releasing next week.

Remorseless followed a similar path to Reckless. I had to push it back a few times, getting a year long ban from Amazon's preorder program as a result. Issues upon issues interfered with my thoughts, and when I finally got my head together, I had to complete a school assignment, bring someone to an appointment, or tend to my house. It drained me, and I feared that Remorseless would go down the path of Reckless, taking years to come out.

Except this time, more was at stake.

The stress had me wanting to curl up in bed and hide, and I considered announcing my retirement as releasing the book became less likely. But then, before I did anything drastic, I found motivation. Even with school, illness, housework, and family obligations, I found the motivation to write. And before I knew it, I was on the last chapter, the light at the end of the tunnel shining brightly and seducing me to reach it. It was a surreal feeling, but one I cherished.

So, it's with joy that I announce that Remorseless, the fifth book in the Death Dwellers Legacy series, is finished! Help me spread the word about it and become an ARC reader. So I made the difficult decision to end "Relentless" where I did, but trust me, it is the tamest cliffhanger I could find.

But fear not, my dear readers. Book 4, "Ruthless", will be dropping in just a few weeks. I couldn't wait to continue Outlaw's story, and I have already written 120,000 words. I just need to add a few more chapters and then it will be off to the editor. Between school deadlines and Memaw Kelly's sciatica, I have been busy, but I promise to deliver a thrilling and gripping read in "Ruthless".

For most, love was a fleeting euphoria that either imploded without warning or slipped away in drawn-out pain. And a love for the ages…? That elusive perfect love for imperfect people? That was an exclusive club where only a select few had a membership.

John “Johnnie” Donovan learned the hard way he’d been denied admission. He had loved and lost and loved again.

And almost lost everything. His friends. His life.

His wife.

Kendall’s suicide attempt sobered him. He’d sought perfection from imperfection. He’d based his own frustratingly imperfect relationship on someone else’s impossibly perfect marriage.

She’d been discharged from medical care and put into a psychiatric facility. Unlike times past, Johnnie made sure she was as close as possible. After three months, she was released. He’d never been so relieved or grateful, yet she insisted on staying in a guestroom.

Over the next six months, Kendall was slowly welcomed back into the fold of the other old ladies. Megan, as always, was the first to forgive. She, with the help of Roxanne, paved the way for the others.

For the first time ever, Johnnie knew what real happiness was. He saw how it looked on Kendall. She glowed and he floated. He’d never love anyone the way he loved her. Not even Megan, whom he’d loved with everything in him. She’d been his first love and he’d always hold a special place for her. Committing to help Kendall through her near fatal suicide attempt forced him away from constant contact with Megan. True, Rory, Matilda, and JJ lived with her and Christopher, but Johnnie knew they were in good hands and refused to use his children as an excuse to talk to his sister-in-law.

As his feelings for Megan faded into sweet memories, he realized how much he truly loved Kendall; she was his everything.

Exactly two years after she tried to end her life, she finally welcomed him into her arms again. The next day, Johnnie moved back into the master suite and slept by her side from that day to this one. There were exceptions, of course, such as club runs and business trips.

Kendall wasn’t perfect, so she had her moments, but neither was he.

And so that notion of true love was a quixotic ideal. Real, constant love took work and care and time.

It took understanding and protection.

It was that last, protection, that saw Johnnie in the passenger seat of a Mercedes, driven by the club’s attorney, Brooks Redding.

For most of the twelve-hour drive, Johnnie hadn’t said much. Understanding the wisdom of remaining on Johnnie’s good side, Brooks kept his mouth shut.

As he turned into the entrance of a wood and metal building, west of Salt Lake City, and paused at the gate, a shaggy motherfucker wearing a denim cut, indicated he roll his window down.

Swallowing, Brooks sidled a glance at Johnnie. “Go ahead, Brooks. This is for Kendall.” “Suppose they kill us?” Brooks whispered.

The biker knocked on the window.

“If I have to die to save my wife, then I will.”

Johnnie didn’t intend to die, but it was a very real possibility. They were there without Christopher’s— anyone’s—knowledge. Death was a very real risk.

“Johnnie—”

“Open the fucking window,” Johnnie and the enemy chorused.

Brooks swallowed again. Heaved in a breath. Finally, he pressed the button.

“Who the fuck are you and what the fuck do you want?” Shaggy Motherfucker demanded once the window was rolled down.

High fences surrounded the property, so Johnnie couldn’t discern if an army of motherfuckers trained guns on them, ready to fire.

“Repeat your name.” “Brooks Redding.”

“And the motherfucker in the passenger seat?”

Johnnie leaned forward, all the better to see fuckhead. “I’m Johnnie. Bash’s little brother,” he said blandly. “Outlaw’s little brother.” Only by six months. Asshole didn’t need a fucking family history.

The gatekeeper leaned into the car and dropped his gaze to the patches on Johnnie’s cut. Straightening, he backed away and opened the gate.

By the time Brooks pulled into the parking space another biker directed him to, Johnnie had lit a cigarette. Jamming it in the side of his mouth, he got out of the car and slammed the door shut. Standing for the first time in several hours felt good. His full leathers and steel-toed boots protected him from the January cold.

“It’s a full house,” Brooks said, suddenly at Johnnie’s side, briefcase in hand, glancing around the parking lot in wide-eyed fear.

Time flies when you're having fun!

I can't believe it has been ten years since I released Misled. In the intervening time, that one book turned into a fifteen-book saga centered around Outlaw and his eternal love for Meggie. Even when other heroes and heroines were featured, Outlaw remained a looming presence.

Without you and your love for the Death Dwellers, I couldn't have gone on this amazing journey. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! In May and June 2022, I updated Misled and Misappropriate respectively. In May 2023, I released book one of the Legacy Series, featuring the kids born in the original series. The Legacy Series was slated to have two books. Then, it became three. Now, there will be four before I move to the Next Generation, which are the kids as adults as they find their happily-ever-afters.

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Misled, I am releasing book two of the Legacy Series on December 5th, titled Restless. I know that title is VERY CLOSE to Reckless (book one). I was committed to the 'Re' titles and Restless is the name that best describes what happens in book two. Book three will be Relentless and book four is Ruthless. Relentless is nearly completed, so I hope to release it on Misappropriate's 10 anniversary, which is February 14, 2024.

Writing a book is like birthing a child. On December 9th, my book, Savage Suit, will have debuted nine months ago. Therefore, I thought it was wholly fitting to celebrate it during the tour. It is not part of my Death Dweller World. Instead, it is a Hero Club Novel and part of the fabulous Cocky Hero world created by Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland. Savage Suit is based on Stuck-up Suit. In honor of Audiobook Month, which takes place from June 1st to June 30th, I am excited to share an insightful interview with Neil Carrigan, one of the talented narrators who brought my book, Savage Suit, to life. Through his perspective, we learn that narrators are more than just readers; they are skilled storytellers who infuse their personalities and interpretations into each character and scene. Their contribution adds depth and nuance to the story, making it a more enjoyable experience for the listener. Additionally, audiobooks have expanded the reach of authors and publishers, providing them with greater visibility and access to a wider audience. This is especially beneficial for authors who may not have had the same opportunities through traditional bookstores and publishing channels. As the industry continues to flourish, we can anticipate more exciting collaborations between authors, publishers, and narrators to create unique and captivating stories for listeners to enjoy.

Without further ado, here is my Q&A with Neil. Enjoy.

Kat: How did you get into audiobook narration?

Neil: Like a lot of narrators, I come from a theater/film background! Some actor friends of mine told me how much fun narrating was, so I gave it a try, and I've been doing it now for about 7 years.

Kat: Any specific routine you do before recording the audio? Once you receive a manuscript, do you print it out? Highlight different dialogue to know whose voice you’re recording?

Neil: Before narrating, I'll read through the book somewhat quickly to understand the story, but I stop to take some time with the characters as they're introduced. And, you know, usually, after "living out" the scene, the right voice will magically pop into my head. It's often loosely based on someone I know (or a celebrity). Sometimes, however, I'll need to change a character's entire persona if there's a twist at the end...so it's key to read the entire book before narrating!

Kat: What is the most difficult thing about your job?

Neil: Difficult" is a relative term, right? Compared to coal mining, I'd say reading books is pretty cushy! But if I had to say something...probably "pick-ups." This is when you have to go back through to correct little mistakes you've made throughout the read. Maybe you said "the" instead of "a," or maybe you accidentally bumped the mic. In a long book, there can be hundreds of pickups. I'd say I've gotten pretty good at reading the author's text word for word, but no one is perfect!

Kat: What is the most rewarding aspect of your job?

Neil: I'd say the most rewarding part is seeing the title appear on Audible. That means the project is completely done, and I know that people all around the world are listening to and (hopefully!) enjoying my work.

Kat: What do you think makes a good narrator?

Neil: Hmm--I'll give you a technical answer and a deeper one. Technically, you have to have mastery over your own voice. Like any instrument, you have to know what it can do, what it can't, and you have to keep it in shape to deliver grounded performances. This doesn't mean that everyone needs to sound like Morgan Freeman. But narrating is a marathon, so if you're not treating your voice well, it can cause serious damage. More profoundly, though, I think empathy is very important. The characters you voice might live in a completely different world, come from completely different circumstances, but you have to understand and empathize with their choices. If not, the read might come across as fake!

Kat: What is the one piece of advice you’d give someone wanting to get into audiobook narration?

Neil: Lean into your humanity. As scary as this sounds, in a few years, technology will probably allow robots to sound indistinguishable from humans. To be successful as a narrator in the future, I think, you'll have to be able to provide something a synthetic voice can't--comedic timing, passion, etc.

In conclusion, audiobooks have revolutionized the way we consume literature, and narrators have been an integral part of this change. As we continue to celebrate Audiobook Month, let us appreciate the narrators who bring our favorite stories to life and the power of this medium to entertain and delight us.

RELEASE DAY for Reckless

I have been working on Reckless for a very long time. When I scrolled through my timeline, I saw how many times I talked about it and promised it and teased its release. Amidst writing Reckless, I had health scares, new diagnoses, procedures, tests, and surgeries. I watched Memaw Kelly become so very frail. I worried about Kathryn Ferdinand and her mental state and health scares. Like everyone, the economy took a toll and there were days when I had to stretch a little food to pay for a lot of medicine. Other times, I didn't know if I wanted to bother living anymore. Just from the gargantuan obstacles I faced. One, in particular, is dealing with electrical issues in the house. I've been trying to figure out how to change bad breakers in the box but I don't want to get fried. That realization strikes me even as I write this. Deep down, I don't want to die. I fought hard to survive cancer and, years earlier, heart failure. I was just tired. All of this affected my thoughts.

There wasn't a month that went by when I didn't think about Reckless. There were many days I didn't because my head was too crowded with other issues. I continued writing and was in several anthologies from Andrea Miles Rhoads and Elizabeth Knox. My submission was accepted to be a part of the Cocky Hero Club. My book was to be based on Stuck-Up Suit by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. I was ecstatic. But my illnesses and my concern for my family, whom I love dearly, repeatedly interfered. Then, late last August, I finished Savage Suit. Somehow, I finished my first full-length novel since 2019. It was a moment I will never forget. I cried. After all the lows and the tears and the prayers and the fear, it was finished. And I am very proud of that book but for the first time, I was proudest of myself. Yet, there was still the elephant in the room that stole some of my joy: Reckless. I started the story long before I was accepted into any of the aforementioned projects. And it wasn't finished. My despair returned and I fell into a deep depression. It only deepened when I saw that updating the original series was stalled.

I updated Misled and Misappropriate and then stopped because of some of the other personal and writing obligations. I considered laying down my pen. Misled came out in 2013 and the industry has changed so much. I told myself if I didn't budget for marketing, why bother releasing the book. However, I made a promise to y'all. And I couldn't leave you hanging OR my characters. I worked from October to December on rewrites. In January, I set up preorders with the intention to release on May 3rd. I told myself I had enough time to complete the book I envisioned, do justice to the series, and make it worth everyone's wait. I begged Christopher to talk to me. I prayed. Then, I had the hemorrhoidectomy and I thought I would never sit down again. My laptop is old and wouldn't update. It kept freezing on me, so I HAD to sit at my desk. The book grew. Savage Suit was released. I listened to the audiobook and loved it.

The pain of the internal and external incisions was intense. My mother was barely able to walk because of back pain. Kate's depression became concerning. Food was low. I received a small shock at the breaker box. I was exhausted.

I quit. I was going to release a statement saying I was retiring from writing. Yet, that was the easy way out. I love writing. I started my first novel at 12. Had I really fought all these years just to crawl away with my tail between my legs? I knew eventually I would have to write again. So I told myself, ain't nothin' but a thing. I have my family. We have a roof over our heads, a car to drive, and food on the table. I pushed the release of Reckless to May 31st. I watched Queen Charlotte. Twice. Alone and then with Kate. I prayed. And I told myself to get back to work. This was when I realized I had to split Reckless into two books. The decision reinvigorated me.

Suddenly, part one was done.

RECKLESS WAS FINISHED.

I stared at my screen and clapped and laughed and cried. It was after 3 in the morning but I called my mother. It was done. Even as I write this, tears are in my eyes. It was almost like the day I rang the bell in November 2016. And, today, Reckless is available to the world. I would love for it to be a smashing success. I wish it gets thousands of reviews. But I don't have marketing money and I still have so many personal obligations. I also have to finish Ruthless because I just can't wait for y'all to see how it all plays out. To everyone out there, don't give up. Continue to fight and hope and dream and pray. Thank you to everyone who never gave up on me, even during my darkest days. Thank you for never giving up on Reckless. Much love to each of you. As much as I want Reckless to be a bestseller, its release represents so much more. Whether it sinks or swims or whether it's loved or hated, Reckless is my biggest triumph and, for me, that is everything.

Kathryn C. Kelly is a New Orleans native who has called southeast Texas home since 2005. She had intended to travel the world but always return to her beloved New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina had other plans. She is the mother of three beautiful daughters and the daughter of one gorgeous mother whose footsteps she followed in by becoming a writer.

Kathryn is the former owner and editor of Inside Rose Rich Magazine. She and her mother have been published by Jove Books as Christine Holden. The books have long been out of print but they got the rights back to the five novels and have plans to re-release them soon.

Kathryn is a cancer survivor. In 2010, she felt a small lump in her breast. In 2015, at the urging of her mother, she went in for her bi-yearly mammogram and was diagnosed with Stage 2b/3a HER2 positive breast cancer. On November 30, 2016, she rang the bell. During her treatment, she was also diagnosed with Li-Fraumeni Syndrome.

In 2013, Christopher "Outlaw" Caldwell introduced himself to Kat in the most cliché way ever. He came to her in a dream. After the inauspicious meeting, he planted himself in her mind and the motherf...the gentleman hasn't left yet. In what was only supposed to be one book about the fictitious Death Dwellers MC, Outlaw has become a source of amusement, a well of frustration, and a bone of contention between Kat and one of her daughters.

She is hard at work on Reckless, the book that will bridge the OGs with a new generation of Death Dwellers. Her work has been included in several anthologies and she is looking forward to other upcoming single title releases, including Savage Suit from the Cocky Hero Club World created by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward. She is a former RWA member. She also served as Vice President for the SOLA chapter of RWA.

She is a New Orleans Saints fan, but roots for the Texans, the Rockets, and the Coogs (U of H) as long as they aren't playing any Louisiana teams. She loves champagne and sparkling wine. One day, she will try Snoop's brand. She still loves Chivas Regal but had a chance to taste Sassenach Scotch. A #lifegoal is to one day buy herself an entire bottle and keep it all for herself.

In her head, she is a biker babe with a Harley in her garage, waiting for her to hit the road. In reality, she has yet to hop on a bike and ride. She loves Cards Against Humanity, has very strong opinions that she keeps to herself, has take her time to talk in public so nothing untoward pops, and always strives to see the best in people and in life.
