Hi everyone,

The kindle version of my new Psychology book is available for free for the next 5 days (May 17-21) See following links.

<a href="http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CR1DX22"target="_blank">www.amazon.com/dp/B00CR1DX22 (USA Link)

<a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CR1DX22"target="_blank">www.amazon.com/dp/B00CR1DX22 (UK Link)

The book is based on topics I've posted about over the last six years which have stood out in terms of the response they elicited, be that in number of likes, comments made, how often the post was shared etc. This type of content makes you think, it's relevant to people's lives, it challenges assumptions and makes you exclaim "Well I never!" Basically, it's about things that most people just find incredibly interesting. Hence the title of the book.

If you have any problems with the links above, just go the Amazon website in your country and type "Incredibly Interesting Psychology" into the search box.

No kindle? No problem. Just <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=dig_arl_box?ie=UTF8&docId=1000493771"target="_blank">CLICK HERE to download Amazon's free Kindle reading app.

Really hope you enjoy the book, I started writing it over 2 years ago! Please let me know what you think and also please feel free to share this post with anybody interested in psychology.

All the very best,

If you're interested in learning all about body language and non-verbal communication I'm delighted to announce that I have just launched a new website dedicated to the topic.

I had originally planned just to have a body language section on my psychology website but such is the scope and range of this fascinating topic it soon became clear that it needed a dedicated website to do justice to all the things we intend to cover. I say we because I am extremely fortunate to be developing the website in collaboration with Craig-James Baxter.

Craig is a master trainer in reading advanced micro expressions and is one of the most viewed body language decoders in YouTube’s history, having complied nearly 100 body language analysis videos featuring celebrities, politicians, musicians and high profile criminology cases.

If you're interested in learning more about body language the site already has plenty of information and resources available: Including:

Body language analysis videos

Body language guides

Body language tips

Body language Q & A

Body language articles

And that's just the beginning, we've got some amazing things lined-up, such as exclusive interviews with some of the leading body language experts in the world.

I really hope you enjoy exploring our new website which you can visit via the following link.
Dr. Jackson's views have received considerable press coverage (see following links).

<a href="http://bit.ly/criminalProfiling1"target="_blank">http://bit.ly/criminalProfiling1

<a href="http://bit.ly/CriminalProfiling2"target="_blank">http://bit.ly/CriminalProfiling2

To be honest, there is nothing new in this type of criticism, particularly of the criminal profiling methodology developed by the FBI. In 2007 Malcolm Gladwell wrote a provocative article on criminal profiling entitled "Dangerous Minds" that appeared in the New Yorker. The article documents the historical roots of criminal profiling, beginning with the pioneering work of psychiatrist James Brussel and how the work of Brussel influenced FBI profiling. The article then presents a critical review of the work of prominent FBI profilers such as John Douglas; a review that clearly questions the usefulness of criminal profiling as an investigative methodology.

See following link to read Gladwell's article on criminal profiling in full.

<a href="http://nyr.kr/DangerousMinds"target="_blank">http://nyr.kr/DangerousMinds

Learn About Criminal Profiling

A good way of enagaing with this debate is to learn more criminal profiling and there are plenty of opportunites to do just that over at the All About <a href="http://www.all-about-forensic-psychology.com/"target="_blank">Forensic Psychology Website.

<a href="http://www.all-about-forensic-psychology.com/criminal-profiling.html"target="_blank">Criminal Profiling (First Documented Use)

<a href="http://www.all-about-forensic-psychology.com/offender-profiling.html"target="_blank">Criminal Profiling (The FBI Legacy)

<a href="http://www.all-about-forensic-psychology.com/psychological-profiling.html"target="_blank">Criminal Profiling (Methodology)

<a href="http://www.all-about-forensic-psychology.com/geographic-profiling.html"target="_blank">Geographic Profiling

<a href="http://www.all-about-forensic-psychology.com/fbi-profiler.html"target="_blank">Criminal Profiling (A Realistic career aspiration?)

<img border="0" src="http://www.all-about-forensic-psychology.com/images/criminal-minds.jpg" WIDTH="411"HEIGHT="323"alt="">

In the early 1970s, Special Agent Howard Teten and others in the FBI began to apply the insights of psychological science to violent criminal behavior. In 1972, the FBI Academy launched a Behavioral Science Unit—later called the Behavioral Analysis Unit—which began looking for patterns in the behavior of serial rapists and killers. Agents John Douglas and Robert Ressler conducted systematic interviews of serial killers like John Wayne Gacy, Ted Bundy, and Jeffrey Dahmer to gain insight into their modus operandi, motivations, and backgrounds. This collected information helped agents draw up profiles of violent criminals eluding law enforcement.

By the 1980s, the concept of criminal investigative analysis was maturing into a full-fledged investigative tool for identifying criminals and their future actions by studying their behaviors, personalities, and physical traits. Accordingly, in July 1984, the Bureau opened the National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime (NCAVC) on the campus of the FBI Academy to provide sophisticated criminal profiling services to state and local police for the first time.

The aim of Inside the Criminal Mind: A Forensic Psychology eBook Collection Special is to showcase all the major articles written by members of the Behavioral Science Units, National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime, at the FBI Academy. Interns for The Forensic Panel observe and participate in challenging projects that reward them with transferable experiences for future careers.

The Forensic Panel seeks creative, responsible individuals who thrive in a challenging and dynamic environment with energetic and bright colleagues. Candidates must be prepared to complement an existing team, bring their own ideas, and produce results.

The ideal candidate is an upper-level undergraduate or graduate student who is responsible, detail-oriented and self-motivated, with strong editing and research skills. Preference will be given to those with writing and publishing experience.

Deadlines and Starting Dates

The Forensic Panel offers year-round internships for which there are no deadlines.
