This year I did spend part of the holiday in Ohio visiting my dad&#39;s family, but I still enjoyed several days at home working on projects that have been at a standstill.

A couple of years ago my dad bought me a utility sink for my birthday. This year as my birthday approaches, we finally got around to installing it.

Old faucet, leaking even after turning it off.

You know what sucks? Unexpected problems like a leak in the water line or a drip in one of my faucets.

A couple weeks ago I finished watering my plants and turned off the outdoor faucet. When I went inside I could still hear the sound of water running, for some reason the spigot was still running even after I tightened the handle all the way.

Decking:


After the foundation is complete you have to lay  the decking (basically the floor of the deck). Laying the decking is a fairly quick process that requires a lot of  power tools and screws. Does anyone understand the purpose of a garage door that doesn&#39;t open automatically? Is anyone really going to take the time to park, open the garage door, pull in and shut the garage door? Not my garden, but hopefully what will be growing next spring!
I&#39;ve said it before and I&#39;ll probably say it again. I am not a gardener. However, I love the look that pretty plants give a home and so I keep trying. I took advantage of the extra time my extended weekend gave me to plant the iris and daffodil bulbs that I&#39;ve had for a few weeks now.

When I started this post it was May. And to be honest I expected my deck to be done in a month, maybe two. I thought I could cover the entire process in one post.
