Chinese authorities confirmed that they had identified a new virus. The new virus is a coronavirus, which is a family of viruses that include the common cold, and viruses such as SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome). This new virus was temporarily named “2019-nCoV.” ¹

Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people. Several known coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans. This new strain of conoravirus has been officially referred to as the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

WHO has been working with Chinese authorities and global experts from the day they were informed, to learn more about the virus, how it affects the people who are sick with it, how they can be treated, and what countries can do to respond.

It’s alarming on recent reports of Airbnb hosts installing hidden cameras in their properties but not disclosing them to the guests staying there. Back in January Fast Companyreported on a computer science professor at Carnegie Mellon University who discovered two hidden cameras recording him and his family in an Airbnb. And just last month The Atlantic reported on a New Zealand family who was renting an Airbnb in Ireland and found they were being live-streamed from a hidden security camera.

Unfortunately, these aren’t isolated incidents and in response to increasing reports of guests finding hidden cameras in their Airbnb rentals, Airbnb says they are cracking down on hosts who don’t disclose hidden cameras in their property listings.

Yet just because Airbnb has a policy forbidding hosts from hiding cameras in their property without informing their guests, that’s no guarantee all hosts are complying. So if you don’t like the idea that you could possibly be being spied on in the comfort of your Airbnb — or wherever else you’re staying — is there anything you can do besides taking the host at his word that there are no cameras on the property? Thankfully, yes.

Keep an eye out for any odd-looking gadgets

Let’s start with the most basic deterrent: keep your eyes open for any odd-looking gadgets in your Airbnb. Gadgets that look bulky or out of place in their surroundings may contain a hidden camera.

Admittedly, it’s not the easiest thing to spot a gadget containing a hidden camera that looks out of place, because cameras have become so small, they can be hidden in virtually any device — and ones anyone can buy on Amazon. Here’s just a small sample of the types of devices you can buy on Amazon with cameras hidden in them: alarm clocks, wall clocks, smoke detectors, plants, mirrors, light bulbs, speakers, and even USB wall plugs.

Still, if you see an alarm clock in a bathroom or some other place you wouldn’t expect one to be, that could be a tip-off that something is amiss. Similarly, if you see any devices, such as a USB wall plug pointed directly at a bed or shower, something could be up.

When trying to visually spot gadgets with hidden cameras, keep an eye out for devices that have a clean, unobstructed line of sight.

Use a flashlight to check for camera lenses

Another trick to use to visually spot hidden cameras is the flashlight trick. A hidden camera necessitates that its lens is embedded in a regular object. Usually, that lens is made of glass and the object it’s hidden in is made of plastic or other non-glass materials.

Glass is generally more reflective than other materials, so the lenses of hidden cameras can be rather easy to spot if you shine a light around a room. The small camera lens should be more reflective than the surface of the surrounding object.

So it’s worth giving your Airbnb a once over with your smartphone’s flashlight. Turn out all the lights in the Airbnb and activate your flashlight. Slowly do a few sweeps of every room looking for any small, bright flashes of light relative to the surrounding area. If you spot any coming from an object, examine it more closely. You may have just found a hidden camera.

Use Wi-Fi-sniffing apps to check for smart devices

Unfortunately, the above visual checks of an Airbnb aren’t always enough to spot hidden cameras, even for the keen-eyed person. The good news is there’s an even better way to identify hidden cameras.

Virtually all modern hidden cameras, especially the types like the ones listed above, use wireless technology to connect to the router in the Airbnb so they can stream the footage over the internet where the host can view it remotely. But the very fact that these devices are covertly using a wireless signal to stream footage online makes them vulnerable to detection.

Smartphone users can use apps like Fing (available for both iOS and Android) that can display all the wireless devices connected to a Wi-Fi network. So after arriving at your Airbnb and connecting to the host’s wireless network, whip out Fing and give that network a scan. It’ll show your device and any other connected to that same network.

While Fing and similar apps can’t always identify what types of devices are connected (is it a hidden camera or just a wireless printer?) the app can display the MAC address of the connected device, which can give you a hint as to what the connected device is. Simply enter the MAC address of any identified gadget at MacVendorLookup.com to see who the manufacturer is and white type of device the MAC belongs to.

Use an RF detector

Of course, Fing and apps like it will only reveal connected hidden cameras if they are on the same wireless network as your smartphone. However, if the host has a second private wireless network that you don’t have access too, apps like Fing aren’t going to help you spot hidden cameras.

In that case, your only solution is to use a dedicated piece of hardware known as an RF detector. All wireless devices give off a radio frequency (RF) — it’s what allows Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to exist. An RF detector can hone in on devices emitting these RF signals, showing you where they are located in an Airbnb.

RF detectors are small handheld devices that can also be purchased on Amazon. They’ll usually set you back about $30 to $50 depending on the model you buy. But they’re worth the cash if you’re worried about shady Airbnb hosts watching you traipse around their property half undressed after taking a shower.

Using an RF detector is simple: just sweep it around the room. If it starts beeping repeatedly, it’s found a wireless signal coming from some device. Move the RF detector in the direction that makes the beeps increase until you spot the likely culprit. If the RF detector is going crazy by a potted plant or smoke detector, chances are good there’s a hidden camera inside.

What to do if you find a hidden camera

The first thing you should do if you find an undisclosed hidden camera in your Airbnb is contact both the host and Airbnb directly and report the camera. It’s up to you if you also want to file a police report. Hidden camera laws vary by state and country.

If you can’t immediately get a hold of the host and feel comfortable staying in the Airbnb for the time being, consider unplugging the hidden camera if it has a power cord, which should be enough to stop the camera from working (provided it doesn’t have an internal battery). If you don’t see any kind of plug, you can also simply place an object in front of or over the camera.

Finally, it’s not just cameras you should keep an eye out for. As smart speakers like the Amazon Echo and Google Home become ubiquitous, you should keep an eye out for these too. While the host might be including the smart speaker in the rental for non-nefarious purposes, remember that all smart speakers have microphones, so it’s conceivable that someone with enough know-how could use these devices to listen in on your conversations remotely.

In the 1950s, the United States fought in a war that the country never officially declared. About 5 million people, mostly Koreans, died in a three-year conflict that no one won. This conflict is known as the Korean War.

DIVIDING AN ANCIENT NATION

Japan invaded the Korea Peninsula in 1910. It controlled Korea for 35 years, until the end of World War II. When Japan lost World War II in 1945, the Allies who won the war divided Korea in half from east to west at the 38th parallel of latitude.

The United States took charge of South Korea. The Soviet Union took charge of North Korea. The Soviet Union and the United States had been allies during World War II. But after the war, they became enemies.

INVASION OF SOUTH KOREA

Relations between the two Koreas were tense from the beginning. Neither liked being divided. After months of fighting along the dividing line, North Korea invaded South Korea on June 25, 1950.

Tens of thousands of North Korean soldiers rushed south. They captured Seoul, South Korea’s capital. They drove American and South Korean troops all the way to the southern tip of the peninsula.

INVASION OF NORTH KOREA

Late in 1950, U.S. troops launched an invasion by sea into the enemy-occupied part of South Korea. They soon fought their way into North Korea.

China, North Korea’s powerful friend and neighbor, then sent its army to stop the Americans and push them back into South Korea.

In the summer of 1951, both sides dug in along the original dividing line, the 38th parallel. For 18 months, the armies fought terrible battles. Two of the bloodiest fights were called Pork Chop Hill and Heartbreak Ridge.

THE FIGHTING ENDS

On July 27, 1953, the United Nations, North Korea, and China agreed to stop fighting. South Korea did not agree. A neutral zone 2.5 miles (4 kilometers) wide was established along the 38th parallel. Soldiers faced each other on each side of the zone.

KOREA STILL DIVIDED

Because South Korea refused to sign the agreement that ended the fighting, the two Koreas are still technically at war.

The dividing line at the 38th parallel is called the demilitarized zone. Nearly 1 million soldiers from the two Koreas stand guard there.

MANY CASUALTIES

Nearly 2 million Americans served in Korea, and nearly 37,000 died. As many as 4 million Korean soldiers and citizens may have died during the fighting. China lost about 1 million people. The war that nobody won was one of the most destructive of the 20th century.

The two concepts of equality and liberty are overlapping and interacting; equality implies the ordering of liberty within society so that the freedom of one person does not infringe on the rights of others, just as liberty implies the right to act in ways permitted to others.

Individual freedom can survive only under a system of law by which both the sovereign and the governed are bound. Such a system of fundamental laws, whether written or embodied in tradition, is known as a constitution. The idea of government limited by law received effective expression for the first time in the Magna Carta (1215), which checked the power of the English king. The Magna Carta did not stem from democratic or egalitarian beliefs; rather, it was a treaty between king and nobility that defined their relationship and laid the basis for the concept that the ruler was subject to the law rather than above it. I guess this is simple to understand.By the time i try to keep up with 2 or more ladies at a time,i must be ready to spend on them and even if i have all the money in the world, i will soon come to realize how huge i have spent if i sit down to do serious calculation.

2. The negative stigma:

Contrary to the belief of many guys,it is indeed a shameful thing for me to be called a dog. A man must have dignity and sexual integrity which goes a long way to boosting his self worth.

I cant imagine walking down the street and ladies looking at me as a wayward guy who can woo a cockroach in skirt and more demeaning is when i eventually woo a lady i really desire and i find out that i have once dated her blood sister or cousin.Indeed there is a stigma associated with sexual recklessness even in men.

Yes this will sound foolish but i believe using a condom is like suffering myself and also very very dumb.Sex is never the same with a rubber no matter how quality the rubber is,what you enjoy is psychological sex and not real sex.

Asides that,as an oral s.x lover I tend to ask myself that of what use is it when i do oral without using mouth condom and then when its time to do the main thing i cover my stick with a rubber,how dumb.

I believe it makes more sense to have one HIV negative partner and do crazy stuffs on her without hindrance and of-course there are other safe ways of preventing pregnancy than the use of a disgusting rubber.(But if you must indulge in indiscriminate sex please use a condom)

It is no longer disputable that indiscriminate sex is a good template for contracting deadly sexual diseases but i am not talking about sexually transmitted infections but SPIRITUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS.Many people do not know that when you make love to anyone,you are actually striking a covenant with such person because you only become one in sex. which means when you make love to someone,you share all the spiritual curses of that person and not blessings because the sinful act only attracts the negative curses. This is why you see some philanderers losing the grip on their finances and they always fail to realize that it is because of their sexual recklessness.

5. Prostitution:

Oh yes whether you believe it or not, a guy who indulges in indiscriminate sex is a male prostitute.Whether it comes in the form of you being the spender,Gigolo or freelance donor,it does not change the fact that you are indulging in prostitution and you are not different from the female counterpart that stays in a brothel.

Many guys are so ignorant that too much sex kills and while they enjoy having Toke as breakfast,Kate as lunch and Ronke as overnight toy,they are gradually killing their heart and it might just be too late when they wake up to hear the question; "what killed you on earth?" Another fact many guys don't know is that some ladies are so mean that they don't mind killing you rather than allowing another lady to be with you...a case of "if i can't have you,no one will" abeg don't dare ladies o,play safe and be with one lady.

8. I can always get my spec:

This is one fact i have come to realize. Out there, we have billions of ladies and they come in different shapes and sizes and trust me, each man has his desired body frame and YES each man can always get his preferred type of lady.

Lets cut the chase and leave the talks of behavior first.I always believe that "whatever is pleasing to the eyes will please the soul" therefore it is important for me to relax and get the body frame that catches my fancy first and foremost so that i can always be glad that i have my choice. To me, its the same hole but different casings so the best bet is to go for my preferred casing and be happy with it.

9. It is a sin against GOD: Of-course the holy books can not stress this enough. If GOD calls it a sin then who am i to go against his wish because at the end,it will be for my own good and the rewards for remaining sexually decent outweighs the sacrifice made by me to obey GOD.

Sometimes i tend to believe that principled people are better than religious people.
Religious people could easily fall into sin and ask for forgiveness while principled people will seldom do the things their principles go against.

Google is rolling out free wifi in New York as part of a trial the company hopes will eventually span across the whole of the world.

The internet giant has even gone as far as to set up a company specifically dedicated to the task, called Sidewalk Labs.

How will they do this you ask – through turning 10,000 of the big apple’s old phone booths into ad-supported ‘Wi-Fi pylons’.

These converted booths are also intended to provide cell-phone charging, free domestic phone calls and a touch screen information hub about the city and transit directions.

According to Bloomberg News, these ‘pylons’ will be rolled out across New York this autumn

Today, i want to share with you, a very simple way of identifying a fake USB. Its as simple as ABC. Get your USB, check the two holes that reveals the bus/contact. If the conductor there is Golden colour, it means its copper which is original. Copper has high conductivity than aluminium, copper also has relatively high tensile strength (the greatest stress a substance can bear without tearing apart).

Now to identify a fake USB, check the two holes again, if its silver colour, it means its aluminium, which is fake. Although aluminum has only about 60 percent of the conductivity of copper, but the tensile strength is very low( which tears apart when subjected to stress) Which makes your USB to to fluctuate. If you are using this type of USB, you will be experiencing partial contact. Most universal modems in Nigeria market today are made with this aluminium contact, because aluminium is cheaper than copper, and the manufacturers/ importers make more money from such.

How The Internet Helped Restore My Baby’s Health – Man Shares His Experience

With great joy in my heart I give this brief account of how the internet helped restore my baby’s health and prevented possible long-term complications. My lovely eight-month old baby suddenly began having seizures few days ago. It was so severe that it worried me and her mum so much that we though it was a spiritual attack. She would suddenly stiffen her neck and shake with great energy (seemingly unconscious), and then return to normal mode in less than a minute.

It happened like 3-5 times every 15minutes. Everytime it occurred, we felt like weeping as the ever lovely baby seemed to have been strangely hijacked. We rushed to the hospital and some blood tests were recommended. On seeing the results, the Doctors quickly knew it was a brain infection coupled with Malaria. Although some of them were worried that all other symptoms of Malaria and infection were absent in the baby – no high temperature, no yellow eyes, baby actively playing and sucking. The doctors immediately commenced treatment with strong antibiotics passed directly into her bloodstream + antimalarial drugs. Twice daily she was receiving the medications but on the third day, they got more worried that there was no improvement.

My wife was drastically losing her joy while everyone else was praying. On the evening of that third day, my wife picked her phone and began an extensive research on Google.com for possible causes of such condition. She stumbled on a research paper that presented the Negative Effects of Soybean in Babies. This paper caught her attention because two days before the seizures began, she introduced Soybean into our baby’s food formula (on a Doctor’s recommendation). The article stated that Soybean inhibits the production of Trypsin which is very essential for infants and also triggers irregular impulse in the brain neurotransmitters thereby causing frequent seizures which, after a long period, could render the child epileptic. The paper added that the inhibition of Trypsin could lower the immune system (which could make doctors believe it to be an infection).

We immediately stopped feeding the baby with the formula but we didn’t notify anyone of the finding to allow a continued treatment. By the following day, the seizures started fading and in just two days, it went away completely. We are still in awe with this discovery while we are very glad that the baby is back to normal life, but I felt – this might help someone someday.

1. AUTOMATIC WINDOWS UPDATE
This, obviously tops the list of reasons why you should not upgrade to Windows 10 yet found on many websites. Here is the way around to turn it off. (Only problem is this does not work on the Home edition but every other edition works fine). I'll edit to add trick for Home edition users later

To turn off automatic updates; press Windows Key + R, type "gpedit.msc" and press enter, Navigate to
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update.
Locate the "Configure Automatic Updates" setting in the right pane and double click it. Set it to "Enabled" and select your preferred setting. Save the change.
P.S: Windows update seems to notice the change after you click "Check for Updates"

2. SEARCH RESULTS ONLY FROM C DRIVE
In this new version of Windows, Microsoft introduced Cortana personal assistant which also serves as a local/Web search for your PC. The problem is that cortana searches for contents only on the drive you installed Windows which is usually C: drive. People with a single partition will not notice this problem but it's a sure nightmare for guys with double or multiple partitions like myself knowing that I can't see a file am looking for in drive D:
How to solve this; Goto Control panel (right click on windows Icon) -- Indexing Options -- modify -- [select drive(s) you want cortana to search] -- OK
If the drive has already been index before then select it from the lower pane, click OK-- Advanced -- Rebuild
Then wait for it to index the files in the drive. When it's finished, Cortana can now see them

3. DEFAULT SEARCH ENGINE IN EDGE BROWSER
With the new Windows, Microsoft debuted their all new browser named Edge. I used to be a fan of Firefox but after this upgrade I couldn't get enough of Microsoft Edge. There are a lot of new features you'll really enjoy in this browser but the only con is the default search engine which is Bing (since a lot of us are happier with Google). Here's how to change it to Google.
First visit Google.com from the address bar then click the three dots at the extreme top right (just under the close icon) then click settings then "view advanced settings". Scroll down to "search in the address bar with" and click the box. If you had visit Google website, it'll appear there, then select it

4. GOING BACK TO YOUR PREVIOUS WINDOWS
This option is only available to those who upgraded from windows 7 or Windows 8.1. If you performed a clean install then skip this number.
For one reason or the other you might want to go back to your former windows. Microsoft prepared a downgrading tool for you. Just click on Windows Icon and in the start screen, click on settings then update and security and click on recovery on the left pane. Depending on your former windows version, you'll see "Go back to Windows 8.1 (or 7)"
Note that this feature is only available for a month because Microsoft deletes your "windows.old" folder after a month so apparently you have a month to decide if you're gonna stick with windows 10 or not.

5. FILE EXPLORER OPENING WITH QUICK ACCESS
A lot of Windows users are already accustomed to opening file explorer to Computer (or This PC in windows 8.1) to view all drives connected to their PC currently. But that changed in windows 10 as file explorer opens with quick access as default. To restore the usual format; open file explorer and click on view tab -- options (extreme top right)-- general tab -- open file explorer to...then select This PC

6. CORTANA SEARCH BAR ON THE TASKBAR
This is one of the first things you notice immediately after upgrading to Windows 10. The cortana search bar being in the Taskbar may be cool for some but to others, unnecessary. Here's a short way to hide it or turn it to Cortana icon. Right click on the bar and select "search" (if you've activated cortana, you'll see cortana instead of search) then from the sub menu click "Show search as icon" or "hidden".

9 Blog Hacks to Help Show Readers Your Best Stuff

Are you letting your killer posts languish in your archives, sandwiched between January and March? How many great posts have you published in months gone by that new visitors will never see?

Readers come to your blog for its content, so it’s important to show them straight away what you have to offer.

Your recent posts will hopefully go some way towards doing this, but to rely on them alone is to short-change the long-term effort you’ve put into building your blog. This post contains 9 blog hacks you can use to show new (and regular) visitors the best that your blog has to offer.

1. Introduce highlighted content. This could be a list of reader favorites, popular posts, most commented posts, and so on. Most bloggers handle this with a ‘Popular Posts’ widget. This is one of the most important elements of your sidebar, as it shows new visitors straight away why your site is worth exploring.

2. Take control of your highlighted content. Though most bloggers handle ‘Popular Posts’ with a plug-in there are plenty of benefits to doing it manually. You can choose which posts you want to highlight, and mix up new and old content. If you’ve got a guest-post at another blog, or if one of your posts makes it big on social media, you can tailor your ‘Popular Posts’ to suit the incoming audience.

3. Make your highlighted content unmissable. Your list of killer posts is probably more useful and interesting to new visitors than anything else in your sidebar. The perfect place for it is right under your feed button, towards the top of your sidebar. If you want to be more inventive with your placement you can, but keep it above the fold.

4. Use images to draw attention to your best posts. Images are eye-contact magnets. Rather than displaying your best posts as text links, why not create images for them? The strategy I use on my own blog is to make a medium-sized button from the image I included with the post, and add the headline as text over the image. It’s something a lot of readers seem to enjoy interacting with, and it adds some more visual interest to the blog.

5. Regularly change your highlighted content. Don’t forget about regular readers when highlighting content. If your list is static then visitors will engage with it once and forget about it, thinking they’ve seen everything it has to offer.

If you regularly change your highlighted posts you give new and old visitors a reason to engage with the content you’ve highlighted. One advantage to using images to highlight your content, as suggested above, is that it’s immediately clear when you’ve added or subtracted an item from the list.

6. Give readers somewhere to go when they’ve finished reading. Many bloggers use a ‘related posts’ plug-in, and while I do like this plug-in, I suspect that it suffers somewhat from being outside the content of the post. Firstly, feed readers miss it. Secondly, readers turn down their attention levels once they’ve finished an article. One way to best ensure readers explore your related content is to recommend it at the end of your article. For example:

Interested in this topic? You might enjoy another article I’ve written called …

Adding the suggestion to your article will catch readers while they’re still in ‘reading mode’ and devoting maximum attention to your words. However, I’d suggest using this only when you’ve written something else directly related to the topic. If your recommendation is spot-on, readers are likely to listen to other recommendations you make in future.

7. Weave targeted internal links into your posts as you write. This can be done badly, or it can be done well. A good guide is to make sure your links are highly relevant to the keywords you’re making a hyperlink. Linking a specific match (for example, linking the words ‘writing with clarity’ to an article you’ve written on the same topic) will be appreciated by your readers. Linking vague terms (like ‘blogging’, or ‘making money’), however, is not good usability because it’s simply too unclear where the link will lead.

8. Mix up posts linking out with posts linking in. A great way to draw readers deeper into your blog is to highlight great content in dedicated posts. You could highlight a selection of the best posts last month, or the most popular posts on a specific topic. You might highlight posts from this time last-year, as Lifehacker does, or list some undiscovered gems from the early days of your blog.

9. Give readers a birds-eye view of your blog. Your archives present the perfect opportunity to allow readers to view your blog from a top-down perspective, with everything it has to offer on one page.
