Sinta Pop-Up

This Filipino food pop-up is a true culinary love letter — packed with bold flavors, heartfelt tradition, and a whole lot of garlic (yum). ⁠

From crispy lumpia to sinigang wings, every bite hits. But the real star? Their braised chicken thigh: marinated in soy sauce, cane vinegar, bay leaves, and an entire bag of garlic. It’s served over garlicky rice, with jammy eggs, crispy shallots, and crackly chicken skin chips. ⁠

Green Tiger & Co. is a woman-owned sustainable goods shop and zero-waste refillery with a focus on goods with intention. Bakery Oma

Bakery Oma is a dessert shop founded & run by Bernice Wilson, focused on restaurant-style desserts served in a small, welcoming bakery setting. Their specialty is queen puffs, cakes, sablés, and cookies in small batches, using good ingredients and careful technique. The goal is to create desserts that feel special, but also honest and comforting.

Bernice’s love of baking began with her grandmother, Nena, whose visits filled their kitchen with the smell of butter and sugar. That early inspiration led Bernice to train at Le Cordon Bleu and Ferrandi in Paris, and to work in professional kitchens where precision mattered. But beyond technique, what stayed with her was how flavor can hold memory.

For a decade, owner Tran Lee worked as a design architect for multi-million-dollar commercial and residential projects. During this time, she came up with the idea for her life-long dream of starting and owning a fresh casual restaurant concept that she continued to refine over the years. Envisioning high-quality, modern, and authentic Vietnamese flavors, the husband & wife team Howard and Tran, made the dream a reality with it’s first location in Burlington, MA in 2020.

Looking to reach even more audiences and put an even more creative spin on delicious food, Viet Citron is proud to be a part of the Bow Market and Somerville community as its first expansion in the Boston area.

Tiny Turns Paperie

The idea for Tiny Turns started in 2002, when founder Jen Palacio started meeting with a group of friends for monthly crafting dates and discovered her love for creating handmade greeting cards. Nine years later, she started selling her work at local markets under the name Just Enough Nonsense, continuing to learn letterpress printmaking eventually purchasing her first antique letterpress in 2013 (and the second in 2014!). Years later she opened her shop, a boutique stationery store at Bow which has become a true staple at the market!

KEEPER

KEEPER is the union of two chainstitch embroidery artists Sam Lee and Amelia Fitch, who use vintage embroidery machines to embellish garments and accessories into one of a kind pieces of everyday, wearable art. From a simple monogram on your favorite shirt, to a fully adorned suit or jacket, KEEPER can bring your idea to life and create something you’ll want to hold on to. A Viet whiskey sake noodle bar that transports you to a different time and place. Personally designed, built, and curated by owner Vincenzo Le, owner of beloved Cicada Coffee Bar and rooftop bar and restaurant Saigon Babylon. Bangla Adda Pop-up

Bangla Adda, owned by Chef Afruza Akthe, serves Bengali home cooked food at Nibble Kitchen.

Originally from Bangladesh and specializing in Bengali cuisine, Chef Afruza owns and operates Bangla Adda Bengali Cuisine with her husband Abu and daughter Sanika. Chef Afruza is excited to bring back her beloved kati rolls, a fan-favorite throughout Bangla Adda's to Nibble Kitchen, made from hand-rolled paratha flatbread, grilled to order, and filled with delicious chicken bhuna or niramesh veggie curry.

Since her graduation from the Nibble residency program Bangla Adda has pivoted to focus mostly on catering, vending at City and cultural festivals, and selling prepared curries and snacks at the Somerville Farmers' Market.

You’ll encounter a series of simple, hands-on activities—drawing, painting, tarot, childhood games, experimenting—guided by prompts and materials. You can follow along or do your own thing.

On Saturday, April 18th, Vinyl Index hosts its annual bash throughout Bow Market, with DJ sets all day, music-inspired food, drinks & merch from the Bow Market shops, including exclusive designs pressed live on tees & totes by AntiDesigns, and, of course, lots of records!

RSD Releases

A hefty assortment of official limited-edition Record Store Day releases will be available for the first time, starting at 9am. Check the Story Highlights on the @vinylindex IG to see what’s arrived. There are no pre-orders/holds for Record Store Day titles…everything is first come, first served, limit 1 per customer.

See the full RSD list here. Line up early if there’s one record you need, or visit anytime throughout the day, and Vinyl Index will have plenty of great selections and entertainment!

New this year, the Salem Funk Club connects with the stalwart Soulelujah DJ crew for a back-and-forth floating funk, soul, and disco vinyl party in the Bow Market courtyard from 12-6pm where you can order drinks, eat & dance! To cap off the courtyard entertainment, the master of the mix, DJ Frank White, will be spinning an all-45 set starting at 6pm. Frank has an unbelievable collection of 45s, and his set is not to be missed!

The records will be spinning outside and inside as we showcase more local DJs & Beatmakers in Upstairs at Bow alongside DIY art projects courtesy of Tiny Turns Paperie. All projects are under $7, and a FREE coloring page will also be available…fun for the whole fam!

Angel Javier & Co. kick off the day in Upstairs at Bow at 12pm for 4 hours of Latin sonidos! Enjoy fine cocktails made by Nook while you post up on the large balcony with plenty of seating. Next up, Vinyl Index shop mates Mint Pillow, Mister Jason & T-Scraps spin an open format session from 4-7pm. Finally, the official afterparty jumps off at 8pm, where Vinyl Index’s own, LDER joins local artists Rilla Force, l.ucas, DJ Palm Butta, Pierre Amour, Jorahzo, 1800ShortKing, Charles.AVP & more for a night of records and beats guaranteed to make you move your body!

a_ronioius and Allegra Thomas will be holding down Vinyl Index all day while spinning their favorite selections from 9am-11pm, so wander about Bow Market and check it all out!

1st Annual Pine-Car Derby

What is a Pine-Car Derby?

What is a Pine-Car Derby? Inspired by Scouting’s Pinewood Derby, our Pine-Car derby lets participants build a model car from scratch with pinewood, wheels, axles and a bit of creativity. The cars roll down a special sloped track and the first one to the finish gate wins. See a video clip of the Pack 3 2025 Pinewood Derby here.

The official kit can be bought at the infosession on 4/4, at the Scout Shop in Woburn, online from the Scout shop, or online at Amazon (they’re more expensive on Amazon).

We are offering two categories: One for classic cars that meet all the standard rules of Pinewood Derby cars and the Somervillain category where almost anything goes.

Please read the linked Rules and Frequently Asked Questions document for specific rules. It’s trickier than you’d think to create a car that meets requirements for this classic race, and it requires a bit of strategy to win. If a car registered for the classic race does not comply with classic race rules at check-in, their registration will be transferred to the Somervillain race so long as they meet the rules of that race. If a car does not comply with the rules of either race, it cannot race but it will still be eligible for the design awards.

The Bow Market Pine-Car derby is a fundraiser supporting Somerville Pack 3 Cub Scouting activities and gear as well as registration fees and dues for kids and families who need financial support to participate. Cub Scouts is an inclusive organization for any kid kindergarten through fifth grade. Join us at Bow Market on Saturday, April 18th for Vinyl Index’s annual Record Store Day celebration - an all-day, all-market party packed with DJ sets, music-inspired food and drinks, exclusive merch, and plenty of records. Vinyl will have a curated selection of limited-edition Record Store Day releases, so come early for must-haves or stop by anytime for great music and vibes.

Applications are open for the second year of the Somerville Art Fair (SAF), a community-focused art event series at Upstairs at Bow designed to connect artists directly with local collectors and neighbors.

Selected artists will take part in one of two summer Art Salon events (June 5 or August 7), the SAF Auction (November 8), and the Holiday Art Fair (December 12)—all opportunities to showcase and sell their work. Artists keep 100% of sales.

Apply to share your work with the Somerville community and be part of a growing local arts program.

Bridging the power of tarot and creative writing, this generative workshop hosted by Heronkind, Zinnia Smith, and Dearly Studio will help you embrace your intuition and channel your own poetic messages from the other side. With The Wheel of Fortune, Ace of Swords, and the Queen of Wands as our guides, we'll dive into the lessons they have to share. Your instructors Zinnia and Lauren will prompt you to write and reflect from the heart, with inspiration from a live group tarot reading, spring equinox ritual, poetry, and writing prompts.

Join us for the annual Sweets & Santa event in Upstairs at Bow! Hosted by maca boston, Tiny Turns Paperie, Rebel Rebel, and the team at Upstairs at Bow. Bring family & friends for a community fundraiser bake sale to help fight cancer, holiday drinks & crafts, and meet Santa! Get all the festive details below.

Community Fundraiser Bake Sale:

All proceeds will go to The Research Clinic at Tufts Medical - Oncology & Hematology, Dr. Andreas Klein. Dr. Klein is Tamy’s (owner of maca boston) doctor who is currently fighting Leukemia. Please come out to support one of the Bow G.O.A.T.’s and her incredible medical team!!! See note from Tamy.

There will be treats for sale from some of the best bakers in the city (see list below). Come get sweets for teachers, family, friends gifts or even a holiday cookie swap. There will be cookies, scones, croissants, muffins, chocolates, mini pies and so much more. All goods will be individually packaged!

We are thrilled to have you meet Santa at Bow Market. Please book Santa appointment ahead of time AND carefully read these instructions to ensure North Pole-level efficiency!
- Your appointment with Santa costs $20 or $5 if you bring a new toy for the Freedom Fighters Toy Drive. Proceeds will benefit research clinic at Tufts Medical Center -Oncology and Hematology department run by Dr. Andreas Klein.
- You can pay with cash, PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo onsite. You can not pay with a credit card.
- Santa will be located in Upstairs at Bow on the 2nd floor across from the elevator.
- Please arrive on time for your 30-minute window.
- Your appointment guarantees you roughly 10 minutes of Santa's time.
- You can bring as many children (pets or friends) as you would like, but if you need more than 10 minutes, please schedule and pay for an additional appointment.
- Meet Santa will take place during the Santa & Sweets Holiday Fundraiser. There will be a bake sale, holiday drinks, and crafts.
